Today I told my manager that my work from home is not working properly because of internet connectivity issues. So I’m on leave for 7 days starting tomorrow😁1

My mom has a blood pressure problem. She has to take medicine at 7:30AM and after dinner at around 9PM everyday. I installed a medicine reminder app and created two reminders. It’s been one year or so now, she’s still following those reminders😁9

Yesterday there was a DevOps event in my office. I had developed an Android and iOS app for the same. Basically the idea was along with things like Agenda for the day, speak and partners information, the app could scan QR of expo booths. If a user visits all booths he is eligible for lucky draw prizes. It ended up being really awesome event. Global heads were really impressed by tech and innovation from India. And in the end, there were 5 lucky draws, and I won JBL truly wireless headphones😆😆

My manager was asking for a whiteboard cleaner(duster as we call it). He said ‘duster’ and put his right hand in forth of me. He was obviously expecting me to offer him the duster. I thought he wants to shake hands. And we shook hands..
hope he didn’t realise what was going on. I was not drunk at that time. But just a bit hangover.2 -

Yesterday I met with a potential client who wanted a website. I gave him a quote of X. He said, do this work for X/2 as I have lots of projects and I can keep you engaged for months.
If it was 2 years ago, I'd have happily accepted his proposal. But in the past 2 years I have learned this lesson hard way. Don't work for clients who don't pay well, because when a developer is not paid enough, the quality of work degrades. Hence the portfolio is degraded and so the future projects are also of low budget.
And before you know it, you will be surrounded by low paying clients who see you as a Skilled Labour.
Today, I don't negotiate, not even a single dollar. To justify my cost I make sure that no stones are left unturned while delivery.
It's better to work for 10 hours a week for 40$/hr then to work 40 hours a week for 10$/hr.3 -
We got a new intern this Monday and we were getting to know him. I heard that he is a left handed. So I asked him which hand do you use for coding. He said "I have to see. When I get a keyboard I'll type c and tell you"4

My first cpp project takes 148GB ram. My mentor says it's okay till 50GB. God help me optimise this thing. I have started doubting everything. Int I = 0 also looks suspicious.9

I was supposed to write test cases for existing code using gtest. No one wrote any test cases in our team but the framework setup was there. Cmakelist
I did everything I could but just could solve a linking error.
Asked all the senior people about my issue. No one could solve it in 10 minutes and it was also not a functional requirement so no one really bothered. I tried and tried and tried. After 2 weeks 3 days. On Thursday morning at 11 oclock I could solve it. I was under a lot of stress. Seriously those days were bad 😔
My manager used to think I'm technically weak. Now things have changed. And Cmakelist is awesome. -
Kind of sad but true.
1) "If you don't love your job, take a home loan".
You will start loving it.
2) Take another loan, you will start loving your boss as well.
3) Get married. You will start loving your office too.

But can't stop anyone from ranting. :/1 -
My room mate works in a data analytics company with his girlfriend. I always wonder what they do in office as they spend on an average 12-14 hours.
Yesterday we were having dinner and his girlfriend said "now we are working in D3"
Having used D3 for a small project in college I was going to ask more about it.
Her next sentence was "It's a language. Like html"
I did not say a world. Just nodded.6 -
When I was in college I used to think deadlock is just a theory concept. First c++ project on my job and I already have one now. 🙃

Yesterday I posted this photo and pranked all my friends. Damn that guy was seriously looking like Sunder Pichai.1
