I have a couple of stories that I think are memorable from co-workers quitting in funny/interesting ways.
1. At one of the first companies I worked at, they gathered everyone to make an announcement that began with, “this is just a reminder, any heavy objects/packages need to be removed through the freight elevators, and cannot be taken through the main lobby.” We’re all thinking OK... why are you telling us this. Next part of the announcement was, “so and so (co-worker) is no longer with the company.” Apparently, which we found out later, the guy either quit/and/or got fired and wheeled his desk chair out the front door through the lobby (keep in mind this is an office on one of the busiest avenues in Manhattan). The whole thing was crazy. That’s the last we ever heard about him.
2. This one was strange. A really quiet dev at one of my previous companies was clearly constantly bored at work (he barely had any responsibility and was pretty much ignored) but the job was pretty cushy. One day, he was out from work, and no one thought much of it. Then he was out another day, then another, and before we knew it, it was like a week. No one knew where he was. Eventually, he sent an email saying he got stuck out of he country or something and he wouldn’t be coming back. Ok... weird, but kind of made sense.
But, one of our ops guys was able to see the ip/location of where he logged on to send the email, and it was right from NYC! So pretty much this guy was just fed up, left one day (with no notice), and just never came back. And then lied that he was out of the country when trying to explain is hasty departure.11 -
GF: please remember the flowers!
Me: I'll set a reminder.
GF: and don't forget to wrap them in water.
Me: I'll see what I can do about the laws of physics.
GF: ... I swear to god..
Me: yes yes I'll wrap them in water.7 -

I'm really not much of a drinker, but last night I was apparently.
I thought I played video games until I passed out on the couch and was carried to bed.
This morning, my laptop reveals to me that I had an idea for a web app last night because I made a very misspelled, yet highly detailed to do list for the app, a very blank index file, and 37 open tabs of what looks like research for certain web features.
Project seemed to be some sort of organization thing with a lot of really random and unrelated features like "fruit meterr that scales different fruits you earn" (what does that even mean??) and "sassy bill reminder".
I'm closing out all the tabs I had opened, when I see the tab showing the domain name I chose and bought. I even got the SSL certificate and email domain purchased.
Drunk me seemed to have been really excited about this idea 😶19 -
How not to give support..
Me: Creates ticket on support site, letting them know their webservice returns "maintenance" page.
Support: "It works on our end."
Support: *closes ticket*
Euhm.. excuse me?
Me: Creates another ticket with a screenshot and the curl response information..
Support: Sends screenshot back that it works on their end. "Maybe check your firewall"
Support: *closes ticket*
I ain't playing these games..
Me: Creates new ticket with more curl responses from 4 different servers to prove it's not "firewall" related.
Support: ..
2 days later
Me: Sends *friendly* reminder.
Support: ..
6 days later
Me: Creates ticket again saying I'm still having issues.
Support: "I'm forwarding this to our technical support"
Support: *closes ticket*
10 minutes later.
Technical Support: "Here's the manual for our integration .pdf."
Excuse me, you say what now? I KNOW HOW IT WORKS, I'VE WRITTEN THE INTEGRATION ALREADY. THE SERVICE JUST SEEMS TO BE DOWN FFS.. pls..
Me: Sends mail to their project manager who manages the clients dossier with support history and such.
Him: "I'll check it out and let you know."
1 day later.
Support: "We had some issues this and that, wasn't publically availble, works now, .."
What a nice way to waste your time..6 -

My previous employer still (contractually) owes me $5k. I still have push access to the repo and prod servers. Should I add a reminder to the admin dashboard? (After yet another email reminder, ofc.)
I could also mail him an invoice, since I have his addresses. Then again, it has been about a year since I was supposed to receive it, so maybe I'll just file a lawsuit. 🙄
Should @Root sue her ex-boss?36 -

Got to learn Shopware (the eCommerce thingy written in PHP) for the job.
Bought a book worth ~60$.
The author writes: "Use vagrant it's soooooo comfy and cozy and everything!".
Sure, why not.
Got to get online over my smartphone.
Cloned the repo with the Vagrantfile.
Did a 'vagrant up'.
Downloaded the Ubuntu box of around 1.5 GB (reminder: over my smartphone which has around 3 GB 'highspeed' internet connection).
Vagrant initialized and provisioned the box.
Error.
Error?
Error.
VT-X is not enabled. Hm. Strange. Wait...when it's not enabled, can it be that...

devRant - a reminder that a small team can do something really big. That keeps me motivated, thank you @dfox and @trogus

F*** all this motivational/inspirational shit going on nowadays. We don't need cold showers, wake up 4:30 AM, or sacrifice time with loved ones just because our ego wants to be successful.
What if I don't want it, what if I just want to BBQ some chickens, drink Red Bull, and watch some Netflix shows until I die.
I don't want to own a Lamborghini, big apartment, live in a warm place with a nice view over the blue ocean, etc. This is just an illusional life-style story that every single person in the world wants, and the reason is so media and commercial companies can trick people to buy whatever they want.
I don't give a shit, we'll all die someday, I don't need these things in my life to make me feel happy or complete. I've seen people with everything, yet they commit suicide because the inner self is broken.
Just be happy with whatever you have, and stop going after things that won't really make you happy. The fact you have eyes to see, ears to hear, and hands to feel is worth billions in itself.
Wake up.19 -
A friendly reminder that Deutsche Bahn fucking sucks.
Their trains show up 10 minutes later than they would have to everyday.
Once I saw that there was a train that was 120+ minutes late.
Today I had to wait almost 20 minutes at a SINGLE train station. Thus I couldn't enter the next train.
To my luck the next train arrives in an hour.
EDIT:
As a student it makes my life way harder than it already is.
It is not reliable at all.
They charge you with 60€ if you forget your ticket btw.
I don't forget my ticket though. My ticket is my campus card.
Their tickets are fucking overpriced and they are always damn late. I ain't paying for that shit. I would rather ride with a horse to the university than paying for a ticket.
Second EDIT as an update:
They just announced that my next train is going to come 10 minutes later. What a bloody surprise, eh?28 -
Had this conversation with a friend a while ago (not dev related). He convinced me to start working on a design! (detail: he doesn't know me well, know him through a best friend but I consider him a friend)
Friend: *shows new tattoo* what ya think?
Me: awesome man! I still idk maybe want a tattoo too...
Friend: ohhh! What of?
Me: uhm well... my favourite music genre... uhm...
Friend: what's up with your doubts?
Me: well.... everyone always tells me not to tattoo anything relating to music because musical taste cab change easily...
Friend: may I guess the genre?
Me: yeah sure :)
Friend: hardstyle, maybe raw hardstyle/rawstyle?
Me: yup!
Friend: well why wouldn't you get a tattoo of it?!
Me: well, I mean what if my taste changes?
Friend: dude. do you have the slightest clue how fucking happy/energetic you look when you hear that music?! It'd be hard to imagine you losing your love for that genre! And if then, then what? That genre has gotten you through the darkest places, most difficult times and has pretty much made you into the person you are right now, even if you'd change factories genres, it'd be a reminder of how you beat getting bullied and became the person you are now!
Me: yeah.... but everyone keeps telling me that its not a good ide..'
Friend: fuck them. You love this music to the fucking point, you told me earlier that you'd like to start producing it!
Fuck those people. If you'd like it, go get that fucking tattoo!
I love that guy!
Anyone into electronic music production here? I could use some tips 😅13 -

Project Cortana: Day 1
I have seen a lot of people switching to Linux or other services to get away from all the data collections. It makes a lot of sense as no one would want their data to be sold without their consent.
But I am going to do something different. My aim is to integrate with Microsoft apps as much as possible and review the experience. So here is what I have done so far:
* Use Cortana in desktop and mobile (Android)
* Use Microsoft launcher in mobile
* Outlook as primary email provider (I was already using them as my default provider)
* Use Microsoft To-Do and calendar to keep track of things
* Use OneDrive to store all my files (I am moving them from Google Drive)
* Use the default Mail app on the Windows 10
* Use Onenote (I was using Evernote before)
* Use Edge on desktop and Mobile
* Use Skype instead of Hangouts
It's day one but I think I have already found it quite useful. For example:
* Adding reminder is much easier. I get them on both desktop and mobile which is nice.
* Mail app has been really useful. Especially the focused inbox really helps to get rid of the clutters. Also, I can immediately add a mail to the calendar (like Inbox by Google) which is really helpful.
* One of the features of edge that I have found really useful is that you can send web pages from mobile to desktop in one tap. That is extremely useful.
So far I am loving it.
Also, I tried to make sure that I am not sharing my data with third-party apps as I have turned off "relevant ads" feature.43 -

Me: "Hey siri, set a timer for 6 minutes"
Siri (OSX): "I can't set timers here. Would you like a reminder instead?"

The way most of us devs are spending time on devRant, it seems @dfox might need to introduce a feature named "Reminder" in the app to let devs know that they need to get back to code.1

My non dev friends don't understand how I need a daily calendar reminder to each lunch with or I will forget to eat until about 3 or 4pm. At which point the hunger pains have gradually become painful enough to break me out of my coding stupor.6

MARKETING FUUUUUCCCKSSSS!!!
The fact that I publish a contact email address on my GitHub profile for email about my fucking GitHub doesn't justify sending me unsolicited shit!! I get that you want your product out there, I get that you don't want to pay for.. you know, regular fucking advertisements, just like everyone else, because your product is entitled to special treatment, right?!
Let me tell you something, Yaren Sahin. Just like with Clark from InVision and the Chinese motherfuckers with their injection moulds from earlier, this is a clear reminder for me to avoid your unethical business like the plague! Fucking piece of shit!!

Which by the way I'm actually legally allowed to upload, because this email was unsolicited. You know, because unlike those marketing people I happen to know the laws a bit.

Just a friendly reminder that when you hear one or more of the following:
- underrepresented
- identity politics
- *phobia
- toxic *ity
- cis* (though "cisco" is fine)
- diversity
- culture appropriation
- passive-aggressive
- patriarchy
...and other bullshit, feel free to not talk to that person ever again. You'll miss nothing. Always remember that their goal is not equality but power to oppress whoever have a different worldview.
If you fear twitter backlash, fear not. Political shit comes and goes, but the inherent value of what you do is here to stay and means something at all times.
To anyone who wants to judge me because of this — remember, what you have read above comes from a bipolar transgender bisexual rape victim.

NYC meetup reminder! If you're in NYC, don't forget about the meetup tonight! It will be a great opportunity to meet fellow devRant users and he founders. We also have a few squishy balls to give out :)

You can email me at david@devrant.io with any questions.
Looking forward to seeing some devRanters there!

So i've spent the day:
a) Finding evidence (again) of product not doing their job, to send on to one of my managers. So we can again discuss why she's still here.
b) Explaining to my iOS developer that although all the devs are in agreement that 2 of them are not pulling their weight and shouldn't be here ... they will definitely still be here because management actually want to keep our multi-timezone setup as they see it as beneficial. We, do not.
c) Having a meeting with another manager, in a different department. (Backstory, a member of their team has had many complaints filed against them by various members of the building, including one from my team). To let them know that my employee felt like you ignored her concerns and complaints and are going to allow this person pass their probation without considering the implications.
I hope to actually find some time in the reminder of the day to actually achieve something, rather than just telling skidmarks that they are in fact skidmarks.
... but probably won't due to 3 hours of pointless back to back meetings, where we answer the same few questions every week.
I really do love being a tech lead. So refreshing. -
I can really recommend all to read the issues opened by the hacker of matrix.org this morning, quite entertaining but also a reminder to everyone (devs and admins) that security should not be compromised on:
https://github.com/matrix-org/...16 -
A store in Russia was robbed for 30k$ using ArtMoney.
ArtMoney is a Game cheating program that is used in games that have no AntiCheat system or it is insanely horrible(Cookie clicker as an example for a game that had no anticheat and ArtMoney is used in it)
The robbers placed orders for tech(like phones and laptops) and then used the program to change the prices from thousands of dollars down to 5$.
The cheat program is insanely easy to defend against or detect its changes.
This is a good reminder to check your security if youre adminstating things like online shops or other stuff thag can be targeted at a similar fashion.4 -
An unfriendly reminder: if you don’t know how to use a fucking search engine to at least try and find solutions to your problems, get your sorry ass the fuck out of here!

Me: "Concierge, I have noticed this issue with live potential on ground a couple of months ago, just a friendly reminder that this still hasn't been fixed."
Concierge: "Well yeah this building is certified (god I hate that word) so whatever measurements you've taken, it doesn't mean anything when it isn't done by the electricians."
M: "Aha, back to that piece of paper huh.. taking measurements requires a piece of paper these days, doesn't it."
C: "Glad you're quick on the uptake."
M: "Well I have the brains in my head to do a proper measurement without dying, and the numbers don't lie."
C: "What do you think that the landlord is going to say? I'm sure you still remember that email "DON'T TOUCH THE ELECTRICITY!""
C: "And remember that she'll probably rather file a complaint against you than to let an electrician come check it, because the latter costs money for something that's already certified."
M: "Well that sucks..."
C: "The certified electricians certified this building. Your hands are pretty much tied."
M: …
*walks off in frustration*
Now, as for the rant. *inhales deeply*
YOU KNOW WHERE YOU CAN SHOVE THAT PIECE OF PAPER?! DOWN YOUR FUCKING ASS! WHAT DOES A FUCKING PIECE OF PAPER MEAN TO JUSTIFY WRONGDOING?! WHAT DOES IT FUCKING MEAN WHEN IT ISN'T BACKED BY A FUCKING BRAIN?!
Yet I apparently can't do anything, because I refuse to certify myself. Now you know why I fucking hate certified enganeers, and why I use that word. The piece of paper doesn't mean shit when you can't back it with an actual fucking brain. And requiring a certificate to do stupid shit, even for changing a fucking light bulb, or a switch or an outlet or whatever. Certified enganeers, because fuckers like that don't deserve to be called engineers. You know what, certified motherfuckers? FUCK YOU!! I can change it myself and I don't (shouldn't) need a bloody fucking certificate for that!!16 -
Random profesional behavior reminder:
The fact that you're obviously from a minority doesn't automatically make you non-racist. Specially, it doesn't give you immunity for being racist towards other minorities.

I’ve just talked to my cousin (24 yo) about smartphones, since I saw that he has an old phone and I asked him if he wanted to buy my old S6 (for reasonable price), he declined this offer moreover he said that he is not planning to change his current device. I was kinda shocked tbh how one can live like that (being online only when using PC), a while after that I realised that he was the one who was smart in this conversation, the one that does not get influenced by others in this matter. I wish I could live like that, when he is not available, he’s just not available. I mean this rant is not purely dev related, but, quite a lot of us here are maintaining some projects, maybe need to talk to managers after their work to make some decisions, doing some side projects. I know that we sort of agreed with those rules at the beginning, but don’t forget to stay offline for some time, especially now when holidays are coming and there will be occasions to spend some time with our families. Just a friendly reminder :)10

Reminder that you shouldn't trust head hunters.
I reached out to one a month or two back, because I knew they had worked with Company X in the past, and I figured they might get me a more direct line to HR.
They said company X wasn't hiring, that I should apply to Y and Z.
I started working at company X on Monday. They only wanted me to apply to Y and Z because those are the positions that recruiter was specifically trying to fill.
Recruiters are not your friend. They do not have your best interests at heart. They can be useful, but don't trust them.1 -
Just a reminder.

Never had one due to this trick I borrowed from an old friend.
So we all know about those meetings where its all crap flying around right?.
First go in there with your alarm clock set on vibration every 7 minutes(trust me on this-makes you look important and you ought to be somewhere else)
Actually the alarm is a reminder that you need to bring yourself back online.
At this point just listen to the speaker for a couple of seconds(especially if its marketing dept) and being the engineer your are; rephrase parts of their presentation in a question-comment hybrid( at this point you're the wisest looking person in the room)
Now go back to thinking about that pizza slice you left in the fridge as they discuss the "lean production" methods that they can use based on "your opinion"..
To more happy meetings..cheers3 -
Thank you for fucking me
Thank you for sucking me
Thank you for lying to me
Thank you for showing your true self
Thank you for teaching me what type of people to avoid
Thank you for sharpening my focus
Thank you for making me suffer
Thank you for improving my grind
Thank you for being a bitch
Thank you for being a whore
For now i have taken heavy damage and a heavy loss of time
For i shall take it as a reminder
A lesson to never forget
Short term gain
Damages
Long term fulfillment
And vice versa

The perfect balance
You will not be missed
I am done dealing with this fuckin bullshit

Reminder to look after yourselves.
Today I found out I've had hypertension and possibly an unruptured aneurysm. Resulting from stress at work and home, overworking and bad diet from having to keep my engery up for work. (over the last around 2-3 years).
Luckly I've moved away from stressful situations now so I'm feeling like I've dodged a rather large bullet!
Look after yourselves guys, take breaks, check your caffeine, sugar and cholesterol intakes and keep active! I reckon the 6 days a week football training saved my life!
hypertension is a silent killer and can cause fatal damage to your organs such as kidneys, lungs, eyes, brain and heart.
Luckly it spotted it early with a blood test and optician visit. I had a hemorrhage in one of my eyes but wasn't until 6 months later GP noticed signs of kidney damage from my blood test it was found!
I should be fine but look after yourselves! You're more important than that deadline!6 -
Fuck. I can't take this shit anymore.
There was a project where we had to implement third-party system for government agency processes management. For some reason, probably because my work is cheap for my boss, the task was assigned to me. Just as a reminder, I'm a .NET Dev. Zero experience in server management. Zero experience in external services implementation.
Anyway, system producent, also an government agency, got angry, becasue they can only earn money on implementation. They have to give the software to other agencies for free. Because of that I've got client program, incomplete documentation and broken scripts for database creation. It took me 2 months to get it all to work but at the end client was happy, my boss got paid and I've got 500 PLN (~130 USD) bonus.
Everything was fine for a while, but after a month server has started freezing everyday, some time before 7 am. The only way I found to make it work again was to restore snapshot made everyday at 10 pm. For a month I was waking up earlier and restored snapshot, and after that my boss took it upon himself. I tried few times to find a bug and fix it, but to no effect. Even person with much more experience with it tried to help but also couldn't find anything.
My solution? Copy all the data and configuration, create new machine, copy everything and check if the problem persists. If not, kill old server. Client won't even notice. But nooooooooo... It would cost my boss a bit of money and I'd need to work on it and he can't let it be, because I'm the only developer working on his flagship product. He'd rather wake up everyday and restore snapshot. Okay, as you wish.
And today, finally, everything went downhill. Snapshot wasn't created, server froze, backup can't be created. Nothing can be done. Client is furious, because they have had reported this problem and a few times restoration was too late and they couldn't work. No one knows how to fix it, I'm not working today (I'm still studying and am available only 2 days) and situation is really shitty.
BUT SURE. ITS BETTER TO RESTORE SERVER EVERYDAY THAN JUST FUCKING FIX IT.
Oh, also, there's no staging or any other real backup. We have snapshots for each day and that's that. Boss' order. Why do I even care...7 -
Client (on Tuesday): I was X features on my website before the weekend!
Me: Sure thing, I can do that. Just a reminder, my rates are $Y/hr and the changes won’t go up until I’ve been paid in full.

Me: Here’s the changes you’ve requested on the test environment, please review. Also here’s the invoice for my work, as soon as that’s paid I can upload the changes.
Annnnnddd silence since then... I’m glad that I don’t have to count on just one client’s payment, but if you wanted before the weekend and I have it all set up, please don’t ghost me.2 -

Whatever you do, don't do this.
- a sleep for 300s to avoid full 24 hour rollover (lol)
- sleep 1d instead of cron; so at random times emails will be sent out or they won't at all
- this is a laravel project, there's a thing called task scheduling: https://laravel.com/docs/5.8/...
Git blame: https://github.com/invoiceninja/...
The actual core project docs at least tell you to setup a cron, though not via * * * * * nor task scheduling, which isn't as much of an issue though as their dogshit docker compose: https://invoice-ninja.readthedocs.io/...

Just a reminder for anyone that wants to use the devRant API for .NET. I made a C# wrapper that people might find useful: https://github.com/redrails/...

Just a friendly reminder to fellow developers to take care of yourself.
If your system is constantly pumping out cortisol, even when threats are minor, it gets desensitized to the stress signals. We used to react to cortisol with the fight-or-flight response when our lives were in real danger. Nowadays it's produced when you disagree with your coworker or there's a deadline coming up. So your cortisol rises but you neither fight nor run. The result is a stress response that isn't functioning properly. This is when burnout symptoms develop. Same goes for testosterone, dopamine and some other hormones and neurotransmitters. Read up and start proper work hygiene that includes workouts, fresh air activities and manual hobbies.
Your back, wrists and eyes aren't the only things you have to watch out for when coding long hours. Cheers and have a fun weekend!6 -
Not a coworker, but this guy who I went to uni with and was a real life saver when I was really down. (we played minecraft together)
... So, he is a real genius. One of those guys who I legit couldn't keep up with. His brain works, he doesn't bullshit his way through, he's not pretentious, he is legit a down to earth rare genius. Yet, he doesn't use his talents enough, he likes to work or go home to play minecraft. And he doesn't politically care enough, so I am almost sure that he will end up getting stuck in the defence force.
We're still friends. And I try my hardest to not be nosy and nag at him that he can do better. I mean, he is happy the way he is, and he is not ambitious. But the memory of him is a reminder that not everyone who gets somewhere is the best and brightest.34 -
Set out to copy the iOS alarm on android because a) android's stock alarm is fugly and b) all other sleep reminder apps either offer me way too much or no functionality.

Reminder to my future self to either stash local config files and .htaccess files... or add them to gitignore... Howdy this is a daily reminder on why you can't trust anyone with shared information.
I am back home from uni for the holidays and like any computer person who is back in town became responsible for fixing every tech problem that has occurred since my last visit. But what caught my eye when I approached the family computer is not the problem with the computer itself, it's the paper in front of the computer that, in giant lettering, has not only the passwords and account names of my mom and brother's AOL (She's old ok) and FAFSA account respectively but also someone's social security number. Any goddam baffoon who looks through the window or is able to take literally three goddam steps past the front door now has enough information to commit identity theft or just take over one of their accounts. I know it's not that likely but I still had a heart attack when I saw that.
How badly have I failed them?1 -

Had a conference call and one of the guys said something along the lines of "I can handle the load (ticket load)" didn't even thought about it my mouth instinctively reacted with "that's what she said".
A couple of guys laughed but the other few just "wooooow"ed like if I had thrown a 9/11 joke.

Today is a stark reminder of why i want to leave here. First we couldn't do anything because production was down which blocks dev login. Then support tells me I need to work harder because my bug count keeps going up. But what is in my bugs? Feature requests, global changes, and work that isn't mine. Gee thanks :( Why does support get to comment on my performance anyway by something as dumb as a bug count? Grrr.5

One of our clients IT team is lazy as fuck they slack too much, it took them 2 weeks just to respond our email (We already sent like 2-3 reminders in between).
Client:"We fucking pay you and it's still not ready, how much time it will take?"
Us: Just respond to that email ffs so we can proceed.
Client: Oh, there was an Email? we will have a look into that.
Even after, it took them 4days to send fields which were meant to be sent like 2weeks before.

Does anyone use a particular reminder to remember to take breaks from their computer?
I'm noticing when I spend a lot of time looking at my computer screen, my eyes will get really tired and it'll be almost impossible to continue looking at a screen. However, when I am not looking at the computer screen all day long and the amount of time is spread throughout the day, my eyes are fine.
So I'm looking for something to remind me to keep taking breaks so that my eyes are rested all day long.

After having my soul suck away by "corporate", I installed VS code on my Windows 10 gaming machine.
Now, I have a pretty hardcore dev setup on my MacOS (it's unix-based and it's good, so stop the hate). I'm talking about fully automatized Rakefile that will provision it from scratch: vim, macvim, tmux, iterm configs, 15+ brew tools, 15+ brew-cask tools, themes, plugins, etc.
Installing VS Code, Node and MongoDB on Windows, just for the fun and giggles, and not having any of my hardcore tools, made me feel like... it's something silly and fun again. I'm once again that softcore developer with no stress and no constant self-reminder to improve workflow effectiveness.
Made me a little happy.
Checkout this picture, this is my Windows 10's "tmux" lol

"Help" messages that are only shown once are not so helphul.
Some software and websites have help pop-ups and tooltips that are only displayed on the first use and then never again. There is no option to show it again.
That is a terrible idea, because the user might want to see it again as a reminder.
Showing something to the user only once means expecting the user to memorize it all at once.9 -

So in the project I’m working on we were about to do a push to live, no major functionality just minor adjustments and nice to have stuff. One of the things I did was a reminder, nothing special just sends an email out if something hasn’t been done for 3 days and then sends an email every day following. Push to live and every thing goes fine with no issues. Day 1 there are no issues. Day 2 there are no issues. Day 3 and I’m inundated with people telling me that the emails are getting sent to practically everyone, shit. What have I done? What have I missed?
So I start looking at the live database hoping for a data problem, no such luck. I look at my code looking for something blatantly obvious but nothing. I start replicating the data but I can’t reproduce this bug and it’s annoying the hell out of me. I checked one of the emails that the client sent to us more thoroughly and seen that it was sent at 07:01. This is odd as our webjob runs at 1am so I start looking at environmental factors and started looking at release management, more out of hope than expectation. I check the staging environment and see that the webjob ran at 7:00. Coincidence I thought, the webjob gets packaged on the release pipeline and everything in the database was dummy data anyway but I’d better check anyway. The database was an exact copy of the live database, turns out a “senior developer” wanted to sanity check everything by running live data through the code so he copied the database over. It was fine for the first couple of days but the data was now 3 days out of date triggering my email code and I get hit with the shit storm. I’ve never met such an incompetent developer in my fucking life, functions 700 lines long, classes that are over 20000 lines, repetition every where and the only design patterns he’s used is when he picks up a child’s colouring book. I can live with the fact that he writes code like someone on their first day of University But copying a database because he wants to “visualise” the fucking data is absolutely farcical. No wonder the project is fucked with a “developer” (in the loosest possible use of the word) is at the helm. -
C# has become shit.
I work since 2013 with C# (and the whole .NET stack) and I was so happy with it.
Compared to Java it was much lean, compared to all shitty new edge framework that looked like a unfinished midschool project, it was solid and mature.
It had his problems,. but compared to everything else that I tried, it was the quickes and most robust solution.
All went in a downhill leading to a rotten shit lake when all this javascript frenzy began to pop up and everyone wanted to get on the trendy bandwagon.
First they introduced MVC, then .NET Core, now .NET 5-6-7-8.
Now I'm literally engulfed with all these tiny bits of terror javascript provoked and they've implemented in all the parts of their framework.
Everything has to be null checked at compilation time, everything pops up errors "this might be nulll heyyyyy it's important put a ! or a ? you silly!!!" everywhere.
There are JS-ish constructs and syntax shit everywhere.
It's unbearable.
I avoid js like a plague whenever I can (and you know it's not a luxury you get often in the current state of a developer life) and they're slowly turning in some shit js hybrid deformed creature
I miss 2013-2018, when it wass all up to me to decide what to do with code and I did some big projects for big companies (200-300k lines of code without unit tests and yes for me it's a lot) without all this hassle.
I literally feel the need c# had to have some compiler rule you can quickly switch called "Senior developer mode" that doesn't trigger alarms and bells for every little stupid thing.
I'm sure you can' turn on/off these craps by some hidden settings somewhere, but heck I feel the need to be an option, so whoever keeps it on should see a big red label on top of the IDE saying "YOU HAVE RETARDED DEV MODE ON"
So they get a reminder that if they use it they are either some fresh junior dev or they are mentally challenged.17 -
Reminder, include legal language in next project that says if we're using JIRA then we're using JIRA and not a thousand emails with requirements embedded in spreadsheets and PowerPoints.

Establishing an eating schedule was truly a brilliant decision. It allowed me not to eat right before I go to sleep, keeping my stomach empty and making my body lose fat every single night.
As far as I keep breathing, the chemical reaction that makes me alive (CHn + O2 => H20 + CO2 + Energy) just need to continue, and when my stomach is empty, my body is just forced to burn fat.
It works like a charm. No “fat-burning” supplements and other MLM BS is needed. You just need to adjust the schedule so you never feel hungry. If you need to eat five times a day to achieve this, so be it. Just allow two to three weeks to establish a schedule and learn how to maintain it. Recurrent reminder apps are helpful.
I’m off liraglutide for more than two months now and I’m keep losing weight without any meds and my digestive behavior changed entirely.

The actual struggle of working in a non-english team who prefers to keep their variables named in our native language. Currently trying to think of a better way to phrase 'sjaafoerAerend' as dropping any part of it makes it more vague.
Is this a thing in asian countries as well? I'm guessing it's more common to just stick to english naming there.
I figure it's safe to assume that anyone who will see the code are going to be proficient in english. If they aren't, natively named variables isn't going to make a difference. Hell I even write my personal reminder comments in english.4 -

Somebody, anybody, tell me what I'm missing here that makes this get mass-produced.
I've always been a bit if a pyro, and ive certainly made random, pointless texh for no valid reason beyond "why not?'. I also have dealt in international OEM sourcing and manufacturing. I even missed the selfie stick boom back before anyone knew they existed... muktille faxriries I've done signing business with were selling them(dead stock) below cost due to lack... silly me thought they were too ridiculous; one of my hudiness cards literally says ".Really cool stuff you almost alwats want... but never need". Most nonsense novelty is the majority of one if my businesses
...but seriously... who thinks a rechargeable battery, compact soeakers, and lit gas canister is a good idea??
I think I may need to re-rank my mental list of most asinine things I've encountered this week... wsl GUI capability built-in with default images and the reminder of pointoess features like passwords for groups, seem less worthy now.

For 2 weeks I was scheduled to work on a project. After tirelessly asking the useless PM for a list of tasks I should work on I gave up and worked on another project.
Fast forward 2 weeks and now that the PM wants me to fill in a form they are more than capable of completing (API request) I am getting endless 'kind reminder' emails. How can someone be such a cunt!

My first job as a '"dev"' (I really need some kind of super quotation mark for this).
I was young and too stupid too know how stupid I really was, I jobbed at a small recruiting firm and one day my boss complained about her database system and that she needed to hire a student to remake it. Suffering from the problem to be too incompetent to even recognise I'm incompetent I obviously offered my services as a python wizard I mean I could write a program that saves fibonacci numbers to a csv file, how much more could there possibly be? Fast forward two months and I proudly presented a GUI written in VB (it had an wysiwyg GUI editor) that was loosely frankensteined onto a bunch of together copy pasted python scripts running on a Windows Server. No web interface just accessible via vnc. It was slow, sluggish and soo ugly but it worked and did exactly what she wanted it to do. Sure the database was a bunch of csv files but non the less, to say it in pm, it resolved the user story. I quit shortly after because of her tendency to not pay the last bill after something was done (and tbh i deserved it) but she never removed my account from the server. So I copied my "magnus opus" from there... Let's just say whenever I look back at it I feel ashamed and yet it serves as a reminder to never be content with how good you are. -
Reminder: if you were tasked with breaking down a work item/story, and your breakdown involved so much incorrect, outdated, and downright incomprehensible gibberish that, when you were approached by another dev, you had to rewrite the whole thing -- after rewriting it into a form that includes almost none of the original and still contains errors and omissions, you do not get to announce to everyone that you were 'helping' said dev to 'understand'. If you do this you are not some machevellian linguistic genius, you are just an asshole who is going to get found out for your bullshit sooner or later.7

Fixed a high priority bug today just prior to release. There was 100% test coverage. The tests pass both before and after the change. The product behavior is correct now where it wasn't before. Just one more reminder that test coverage does not equate to either quality or correctness. Tests are alarms (at best), and quality of tests are no better an any chunk of code. All tests have costs, but not all have value. All reasons why I am skeptical of the value of code coverage, TDD, or anything that posits that "all tests are good".6
-
Stop commenting out code blocks!
Either fix your shit or delete it.
I am open to argue what fixing may mean, as it is perfectly fine to make your broken code not reachable, e.g. via feature flags or skipping certain tests. Yet never ever should you comment those blocks!
So you say you want to keep it for historic reasons? You know, that is why we use version control! If you ever need certain functionality back, you can restore that state.
Each decent IDE also offers a local history where you can even restore code blocks that weren't even pushed or committed. So use that!
Commenting out test cases is a really bad habit, as you have no reminder that you shall restore it.
And no, a TODO and a FIXME won't count as a reminder as you have to actively look for them. And we all know how well that goes, don't we? (One time, I found a typo of a `TDO`. So even with a regular lookup for TODO, stuff will slip.)
Each test suite offers you ways to skip tests if there are valid reasons why they should not fail the build temporary and they offer colorful feedback. Yes, that means that your tests won't be green, but guess what: That's a feature! They shouldn't be.
That yellow is a fine reminder, aka warning!, that you should really fix your shit.
Commented code screams: "I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WAS DOING!" and it confuses the hell out of other developers ("Was this commented because of debugging purposes and should be active again or can I safely delete this!?") and adds verbose crap to the code base.
If you find yourself to be in a place that you comment code a lot, I also argue that your workflow is broken.
When you are using a decent debugger, there shouldn't that much of a need to comment in and out a lot of code in order to reason about your code-base.3 -
Back in the day my dad had this Fortran book he was studying at the time. I had just learned reading but and remember looking at the funny book and wondering why I can't understand anything. Still have that book as a fond reminder =D
My dad noticed me trying to read it and got me this funny BASIC for kids. At the same time we got our first computer. At that you couldn't buy games. Usually the books had the source that you had to type in and compile.
So this funny BASIC book with funny pictures had the source for moonlander... And man was I hooked. Next came the "monkeys throwing bananas" =D
Back in the day everyone was also on the dark side. Prompt was always white on black ;)1 -
Perhaps one of the most important things I will ever learn in life is how powerful regularity is. Read up on a topic once? Understand nothing? Read more random shit on it. Keep reading. And then stare in awe as things fall into place.
I'm writing this out not because people don't know this. Almost everyone knows this. But it's nice to be reminded of it. It's nice to be reminded that learning new things and honing bew skills is never easy. It's nice to be reminded that there's great knowledge and skills waiting to be learned.
This is not meant as motivation so much as it is meant as a reminder. Our colleagues may be garbage. Our clients may be garbage. Our bosses, the interns, the new dev, and almost certainly ourselves, are almost always garbage.
But if you've learned 1-2 new things today, the day wasn't garbage.
I'm just learning move semantics... -

(This reduces chances of being bitten by malware that uses the Fax service or similar, as there are a few that have in past used often-unused services to propagate. It also reclaims a small bit of memory, and the more real memory you have, the less you page out when compiling or similar, which is slow as fuck.)
also for the love of god stop using RDP and use something that's more penetration-proof than a paper plate...11 -
Hey everyone 🙂
I’m looking for a little input on a project I’ve had in my head for a while.
I want to make a schedule app that would cater to personal, work and school schedules alike, and give points or rewards for completing tasks on time. Like a reward kind of system.
What features would you most look for in a schedular / reminder app?6 -
Just tried to attach a reminder for tomorrow to the window object of my brain. Uff... Enough JS and JSON for this week.
Have a nice weekend with stable friday deploys, fellas! -
just wondering: how much of your programming / development is based on your memory and how much do you use Google just for a reminder and how much do you ude Google for the entire code?2

What's your take on the Ghimli studio drama.
Here is mine.
So for reminder, apparently shitGPT started generating images (big whoop) and all the normies are using it to mimic their favorite japan cringy anime.
Which apparently isn't to the taste of the anime drawer, who is apparently trying to sue everyone for copying his art style. Including not only chat GPT, but individual users as well.
So:
1. IA is a gadget. It's pretty convenient but if you think it will fundamentally change the fabric of society, you're an idiot.
2. There is no such thing as IntEllECtuAl ProperTy
3. Metallica's singer is a bitchtard. Suing for people to steal your music is the opposite of metal, retard. Same shit for the japan retard, i'll never watch your ghimlee shit now. Princess mononoke my balls, more like streissand so close no matter how far my dick. I hate you and I want your nails removed and then your finger dipped in salt.

Just a reminder guys especially who do agile(scrum). TEAMS SHOULD BE HIGHLY ALIGNED BUT LOOSELY COUPLED!5

To avoid procrastination just work under annoying manager who asks "what are you doing? what is the progress?" Multiple times in a day.
You will never work on lesser important task if you have personal reminder like that.1 -
DevRant has many privacy-conscious people and honestly just people who don't like when their personally identifiable data gets shared.
Yet, DevRant uses Carbon Ads owned by BuySellAds. Here's what their privacy policy reads:
"Some Personally Identifiable Information may also be provided to intermediaries and other Third Party Service Providers (defined in part (4) below) who assist us with the Services"
You know what's the funniest thing? In "part 4 below" they never actually state which companies do they share personally identifiable information with.
Just a quick reminder that when you use DevRant, your personally identifiable information may be shared with any amount of third parties, and you could bet a lot of money that the list includes Google and Facebook because of remarketing. Remarketing is a fancy term that means not selling personal data but instead giving it away for free.
Use AdGuard or any other browser extension that blocks analytic scripts. Buy a Raspberry Pi Zero W and make yourself a PiHole. When you're using DevRant mobile app, use analytics-blocking VPN.19 -

Me: „we are going to reschedule the standup to 11pm“

Me: „You might want to set yourself a reminder so you do not forget it?“

Me @ 11pm: „Where the hell is he?“ -
Friendly reminder for hackathons, a great idea is better than a great app.
I saw amazing creations, from a virtual reality rowing machine to a camera that read a Connect 4 game into a AWS server live.
Yet, the hack that won the popular vote was an app that would tell your friend, through texts, where you were when you're heading over to pick them up.
A simple concept to implement, but a great idea.1 -
Friendly reminder that if you disable remote content in your email client, the feature that almost every email client allows, there will be NO WAY for all those bloody spammer corporations to know that you even opened the email. I also prefer my emails with no graphics, I find them more beautiful that way.3

TIL google calendar app on Android doesn't let you change a reminder's reminding time.
There is edit but it only let you change title and date time and repeated options.
I can't find an option to postpone the reminder to next hour or something.
With that said, if you know how to do it, please share.9 -
So was working on an android app with Geo Fenceing capabilities ie. Reminding stuff based on users location... But no matter what it was not getting triggered even though I was standing at the heart of that location!!
Scratched my head for about a week over it and then gave up.
After a month, today I found myself at that same place with GPS turned on and that little shit triggers and 'bing' I get the reminder I was looking for...!!
My reaction >> What the heck was up with you a month ago...?1 -
I remember that when I was about 8 years old, my dad brought a desktop computer home one day.
I don’t remember any specs, but it had a huge ass CRT monitor, a very loud clicky keyboard, a mouse with a real ball inside, and a CPU that uses floppy discs and CDs. Nope, CDs, not DVDs. And on that computer, it ran Windows 95. There’s was no internet most of the time (it was still quite expensive and unnecessary and dial up was troublesome to set up back then).
I remembered playing bootlegged games sold in CDs that my dad bought during his trips to China back then. Duke nukem, Command and Conquer Red Alert 2, Microsoft solitaire and GTA 3. Those were the games I played.
As a kid, it was glorious, looking through a box on a table, seeing and interacting with so many different worlds, stories, characters and games. I really miss those simpler times.
These days, every time I open my laptop, and I see that new mail that need to be dealt with, that homework that’s about to be due and a reminder of my next class in 15 min. Well shit.1 -

Just a reminder that Terraform is insecure by design and if you even THINK about using it to execute CI/CD deployments not built into the cloud (Jenkins, on-prem CI/CD, etc...), then you're a DOUBLE fool. God i hate my infra team sometimes...13

So i keep thinking why don't people make reminders of a goal they want to follow.I mean i use it all the time it helps me be more organised.
** Do remember i am a NOOB in web Dev and would like to get better**
++// Any suggestions are greatly appreciated //++
So i came up with a Web App where
" we enter something we want to set a goal based on and the time duration we want it to run it for."
What's the best part " reminder is displayed in terms of a calendar with some animation (where we click on the date to show that we have lived up to that goal for that day)"
The page would also have a counter like a clock which would tell the user who has logged in if or not they are Procrastinating or actually following their set goal. -
TL;DR : How would you 'smart home' with privacy?
How would you go about a privacy focused home automation/smart home setup?
What I feel is not necessarily important
> some assistant that you can have conversations with.
> Not being in home network to automate.
What I feel is essential. (in decreasing order of importance)
> Being a able to control appliances/electronics with voice/app (optional gesture)
> Have features to automate stuff, like turn on something if something happens (IFTTTish)
> Easily play music from Spotify or something similar, e.g. " * Play some Tchaikovsky."
> Simple alarm and reminder features.
So far I have seen relays and other devices that you add in the wiring and they connect to wifi. They work surprisingly well, but whatever I came across also collects personal user data.
Also not aware of any google home and alexa alternative that can so seamlessly pick up commands through ambient noise.
What are your thoughts and views?
P. S. I would have picked up something like this as my side project, but I don't see my self having that much free time atleast for the next 4-5 months.4 -
The NPC has stated that the personal data of atleast 2000 people was leaked after the attacks on the websites of the philippinian goverment on april 1, the data contains; names, adresses, passwords and school data.
Over 7 administrators of schools, universities and other goverment structures have been called out for not reporting on the leakage of personal info on public facebook groups and violaton of the NPC in under 72 hours.
The representatives of the next structures stood before the comission on the 23 and 24 of april

The agency has reported that none of the organisations had notified about the personal info leakage yet.

a "configurable" confirmation system, where page conditions (e.g. customerId=someId, etc.) are stored in the DB as a comma separated string to be run through a stack expression evaluator, so that customers can add a "confirmation" (aka just a modal dialog) with custom reminder text when a user does a certain thing on a certain page....2

When you go out to have a client meeting, then the client doesn't show up (and you only learn they won't show up after you have texted them twice).

I made a reminder application, with different sounds for different hours, but it's super primitive, as I'd never figured out how to use android intents that we'll, and the logic was barebones. I'd like to polish it up so it's a little more user friendly and intuitive.

Why is debugging like finding a needle in a haystack, except the needle is on fire, the haystack is on fire, and everything's in JavaScript? If debugging is removing bugs, then programming must be putting them in!
And Git blame? More like Git shame! Every "fix stuff" commit is a reminder that past-me was a jerk.
End rant. Back to code. May the coffee be strong and the bugs be weak. 🐛☕💻5 -

WTF I just found out I have to add slides to the slide deck for Friday’s department meeting. Event has been on the books for a month and they send a “reminder” email that’s actually a first notice for me. Well not my problem because I have PTO scheduled already. My manager is going to present on my behalf.

This article about the types of legacy code bases you will have to deal with just made my day!
Not only do I have every one it describes but somehow it even made me laugh at thought of each of the std riddled petri dishes of code that I reluctantly maintain... My "Happy Place" is a folder dedicated to reliquary projects I like to look at when I feel sad to lift my spirits and restore hope that one day things will be better.
Do you have any definitions to add or know where to find more? I'm hooked.
Link: https://medium.com/@dylanbeattie/...
Excerpt:
The Reliquary
The reliquary is that one repository full of really good ideas. Clean code. Brilliant algorithms. The OpenID implementation that you optimised until it shone. Classes so beautifully designed and perfectly documented that they’d make a senior architect weep.
You remember the big rewrite? The project that was going to fix everything, only you never worked out how to actually launch the thing, or get any revenue from it? The reliquary is where you’ve preserved it, pickled in revision control like a fabulous museum specimen. A treasury of good code and good ideas; maybe even an entire codebase that was “a couple of weeks” away from shipping before somebody finally looked at the number of critical features the team had somehow forgotten to include and discovered — to everybody’s surprise — that validated XHTML, normalised data models and 95% test coverage are not actually features any of your end users cared about.
Like Buran or the Spruce Goose, the surviving artefacts stand as a testament to the quality of your engineering… and a poignant reminder of just how much fun engineers can have building high-quality stuff that nobody actually wants to use. -

The first rant that I'm going to do here is by writing a reminder note on posting a comment regarding Snap's inability to properly give response to the users on a solution post in Medium.

God I need to so something new
Literally everything is a reminder
Was life great ?
Eh
Varied
This didn't last that long
But what I miss is when people made moving experience and art captures with people as their "job"
Not this weird sicky shit everything devolved into
I feel I should leave this state soon once again heh for where
Who knows
Feels like the people creating these scenes of peace beauty and clean lust didn't appreciate or understand them
Instead for them it's Clacking doors and other weird crap they take some strange meaning from
Maybe Colorado is in it's less fucked up stage
I doubt it
There is an escape hatch somewhere5 -

How do you protect your team's git remotes?
We tend to protect the master and stage branch from force pushing and only allow merging pull requests after successfull recent tests and successfull review by someone with proper permissions. Depending on the project the Dev branch is only protected from force pushing though. All other branches are free to handle however wanted.
We recently had someone do a "git push -f --mirror" without understanding the command. Quick reminder what that does: it mirrors all your local branches to the remote so that the remote will be a mirror of your local repo. Branches that exist on remote but not on your machine will be removed from the remote.
A then needed to work from B's feature branch but of course that was gone... So while the idiot didn't fuck up our protected branches he still fucked over other people's workflow with that.
Is there an alternative to outright blocking force pushes which could have prevented that (except force pushing intelligence into his brain)?7 -
FOR SCAM RESOLUTION EXPERTS HIRE TECHNOCRATE RECOVERY
In January 2025, I lost $150,000 to what I believed was a legitimate DAO—complete with an active Telegram community and verified team members. But overnight, everything vanished. The project was a well-executed scam, a stark reminder of how advanced crypto fraud has become. Feeling defeated, I turned to TECHNOCRATE RECOVERY, a firm specializing in crypto fraud investigations. Their experts quickly traced the stolen funds through mixers, swaps, and shell wallets. Working with exchanges and law enforcement, they managed to recover $120,000 within weeks. Though $30,000 is still being pursued, their relentless efforts restored both my hope and faith. This experience taught me a painful lesson—but also showed me that real help does exist in the fight against crypto crime.

The Risks of Online Crypto Investment: A Cautionary Tale
EMAIL: rap iddigitalreco ve ry @ exe cs. com.
WHAT SAPP: + 1 41 4 80 7 14 85
Online crypto investment can seem like a promising opportunity, but it’s crucial to recognize that there are no guarantees. My own experience serves as a stark reminder of this reality. I was drawn in by the allure of high returns and the persuasive marketing tactics employed by various brokers on platforms like Instagram. Their polished presentations and testimonials made it seem easy to profit from cryptocurrency trading. Everything appeared to be legitimate. I received enticing messages about the potential for substantial gains, and the brokers seemed knowledgeable and professional. Driven by excitement and the fear of missing out, I invested a significant amount of my savings. The promise of quick profits overshadowed the red flags I should have noticed. I trusted these brokers without conducting proper research, which was a major mistake. As time went on, I realized that the promised returns were nothing but illusions. My attempts to withdraw funds were met with endless excuses and delays. It became painfully clear that I had fallen victim to a scam. The reality hit hard: my hard-earned money was gone, and I was left feeling foolish and defeated. In my desperation, I sought help from a company called Rapid Digital Recovery. They specialize in helping individuals recover funds lost to online scams. Their expertise and guidance have been invaluable during this difficult time. While I remain cautious and skeptical, I’m hopeful that they can assist me in retrieving my funds. This has taught me an important lesson: if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. I urge anyone considering online crypto investments to be extremely cautious. Do your research, scrutinize the brokers, and avoid rushing into decisions driven by hype or pressure. The world of cryptocurrency can be volatile and unregulated, making it a breeding ground for scams. while online investments can be appealing, they come with significant risks. Protect yourself by staying informed and skeptical. Learn from my experience and prioritize due diligence over quick gains. Stay away from unverified platforms and be wary of offers that sound too good to be true. Your financial security is worth the effort to ensure you’re making safe and informed decisions.

RECOVER YOUR STOLEN CRYPTO OR MONEY LOST TO SCAMMERS WITH A LEGIT RECOVERY EXPERT = DIGITAL HACK RECOVERY
I am a religious man here in Lakewood, and I believe in honesty, integrity, and fairness in all aspects of life. Recently, however, I found myself caught in a situation that tested my faith in these values, as I was taken advantage of by an online broker. I started by depositing $10,850 into my trading account and, through careful and honest efforts, managed to grow it to $37,961. However, when I requested to withdraw my profits, I was met with resistance. The broker denied my withdrawal request without offering any explanation, and worse, they withheld the full amount of my profit, effectively locking me out of my own money.I reached out to the broker multiple times through email and their official Telegram support, but all my attempts to get answers were ignored. This silence was not only frustrating, but it also raised serious red flags. I felt helpless and uncertain, as I had no clear way of resolving the issue or even getting a response. After exhausting all my options with the broker, I decided to take action. I reached out to Digital Hack Recovery, a company that specializes in helping people recover funds from fraudulent brokers. They took on my case and worked diligently on my behalf, ultimately helping me recover my money, including the full amount of my profits. While I am thankful to have my funds returned, the experience has left me deeply disappointed. As a person of faith, I believe in fairness, and seeing such unethical behavior firsthand was a harsh reminder of the risks involved in dealing with brokers who may not operate with transparency or integrity.I want to share this story as a warning to others. If you’re considering doing business with an online broker, be cautious and vigilant. There are those out there who will take advantage of you, and when you try to defend your rights, they will simply ignore you. I also believe that anyone who continues to support or defend such brokers should be held accountable for enabling this type of fraud. We all have a responsibility to stand against injustice and ensure that those who act unethically face consequences for their actions. TRUSTED CRYPTOCURRENCY RECOVERY EXPERT FOR HIRE; CRYPTO RECOVERY SPECIALIST HIRE CYBER CONSTABLE INTELLIGENCE
I was part of Harborview Capital Partners, a venture capital firm in New Zealand, when we encountered a significant financial setback. We had invested NZD 5,500,000 in a promising technology startup that initially seemed like a golden opportunity. The startup presented a compelling pitch, had strong leadership, and its business model aligned perfectly with current trends in the tech sector. Confident in its potential, we decided to invest. However, over time, red flags began to emerge. The startup failed to meet its initial promises. We discovered discrepancies in their financial statements, uncovered fabricated key partnerships, and found that product development was severely behind schedule. Despite growing concerns, the startup's leadership remained evasive and defensive. We tried to address the situation through traditional channels, but our efforts to recover the investment were unsuccessful. It soon became clear that the company had misled us from the start. At this point, we turned to Cyber Constable Intelligence, a firm specializing in recovering lost or stolen funds through advanced investigative techniques. Their expertise in digital forensics and fraud detection seemed like the perfect solution for our predicament. The team at Cyber Constable Intelligence immediately began working on our case, employing a range of digital tracking tools to trace the flow of funds. Using blockchain analysis and other investigative methods, they uncovered a network of shell companies and personal accounts where the stolen money had been funneled. Cyber Constable Intelligence's thorough investigation provided a clear picture of the fraud. They were able to prove that the startup was operating under fraudulent pretenses, and we presented their findings to the authorities. This led to a formal investigation and legal action against the perpetrators. Thanks to the diligent work of Cyber Constable Intelligence, we were able to recover the full amount of our investment NZD 5,500,000.This experience was a harsh reminder of the risks inherent in venture capital, but it also highlighted the importance of having the right expertise to navigate complex financial fraud. With Cyber Constable Intelligence’s help, we were able to not only recover our investment but also hold those responsible accountable for their actions.

RECOVER SCAMMED USDT FROM ONLINE SCAMMERS HIRE ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST
I first met Sarah at St. James Episcopal Church in Los Angeles during a Sunday service. We struck up a conversation, and over time, we became good friends, bonding over our personal stories and professional experiences. Sarah, an experienced journalist, had built her career on uncovering the truth, exposing corruption, and holding those in power accountable. But despite her keen eye for deception, she never imagined she would fall victim to a sophisticated online scam. WhatsApp info:+12 (72332)—8343
It all began when Sarah received an email from what appeared to be a reputable media subscription service. The offer seemed legitimate—exclusive access to industry insights and breaking news for a small monthly fee. As a journalist, staying ahead of the curve was essential, so she eagerly signed up for what she believed was a valuable resource. Website info: h t t p s:// adware recovery specialist. com
The website looked professional, with polished graphics and convincing language. Sarah was prompted to pay upfront, and she invested $11,000 in what she thought was a premium subscription package. But within days, the website vanished. Her login credentials no longer worked, her emails went unanswered, and the phone numbers listed were disconnected.
Shocked and devastated, Sarah confided in me about what had happened. She felt helpless, having lost a significant sum of money to an invisible predator. That’s when I suggested she reach out to ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST, a firm dedicated to recovering funds lost to online scams. Desperate for a solution, she contacted them immediately. Email info: Adware recovery specialist (@) auctioneer. net
To her relief, the team at ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST acted swiftly. Through a meticulous investigation, they traced the stolen funds and successfully recovered the full $11,000. Sarah was overwhelmed with gratitude—not only had she regained her hard-earned money, but she also restored her faith in recovery services. Telegram info: h t t p s:// t. me / adware recovery specialist1
Determined to help others avoid a similar fate, Sarah now shares her story with fellow journalists and media professionals, raising awareness about the growing threat of digital scams. Her experience serves as a powerful reminder that even the most vigilant among us can be deceived, and that having the right support can make all the difference.

BTC & NFT RESTORATION, GET EXPERT HELP FROM =SALVAGE ASSET RECOVERY
As a digital artist venturing into the world of NFTs, I was filled with excitement and hope. I had spent years honing my craft, and the prospect of sharing my work with a global audience was exhilarating. However, my journey took a devastating turn when I fell victim to a malicious smart contract that drained my wallet of $75,000 in earnings and royalties. As a dedicated nurse working at St. Mary's Hospital in the USA and a mother of two, I’ve always felt a strong responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of my children. This became especially important when they entered high school, a time when they face increased pressures and challenges. My husband, unfortunately, wasn’t as involved in their lives, leaving me to take the lead in many aspects of parenting and family management. One day, I discovered that my husband had made a significant financial decision that concerned me. He had taken $7,500, money that was originally set aside for our children’s school fees, and invested it in an online platform. When he came home that evening, he was visibly distressed. I immediately noticed the stress on his face and a notification on his phone from one of his friends asking if he had received the help he needed. This raised red flags, so I decided to confront him. After some conversation, my husband admitted that he had lost the money in a high-risk investment scheme he had found online. The platform seemed legitimate at first, but it turned out to be a scam. My heart sank when I realized the gravity of the situation. The money was not only intended for our children’s education, but we were also in a vulnerable financial position, and this loss could have serious consequences. Despite the overwhelming stress, I decided to act quickly. I suggested that he seek professional help from a service called ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST , which specializes in recovering funds lost to online scams and fraudulent investments. He was hesitant at first, but after hearing more about their success stories, he agreed to give it a try. I’m relieved to say that ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST was able to help us recover the entire $7,500. The money was successfully returned to our account, and we were able to use it for its intended purpose—our children’s school fees. The sense of relief and gratitude we felt was immense, as we knew we had narrowly avoided a potentially devastating situation. It was a reminder of how important it is to stay vigilant in today’s digital world, and I’m thankful that, with the right support, we were able to recover from this financial setback.

On Thanksgiving Day, I fell victim to a sophisticated forex trading scam that initially promised significant returns but ultimately left me unable to access my funds. It all began when I was contacted by an admin from a Telegram group with 300 members, where participants were discussing forex trading strategies and sharing success stories about profiting from signals provided by the group's leaders. Intrigued by their claims of high returns and the seeming transparency of the group, I decided to join. The scammers introduced me to a 45-day investment cycle, assuring me that at the end of the period, I would be able to withdraw my initial investment along with any profits. Trusting their process, I transferred $48,000 in several wire transfers. My account quickly grew, and within a short time, my balance had ballooned to $500,000. Everything seemed to be going as promised, but that’s when things took a turn. When I attempted to withdraw my profits, I was told that I couldn’t access my funds until I paid a supposed “tax” on my earnings. This tax requirement had never been mentioned when I first joined or invested. When I questioned the legitimacy of this fee, I received evasive answers and delays. It became apparent that the scammers were stalling, hoping to trap me into paying additional fees. Despite my repeated attempts to contact them, the group vanished, leaving me with no way to reach anyone. It was clear that I had been scammed. After further research, I discovered that many others had fallen victim to the same fraudulent group, which had used fake trading signals and false promises of high returns to lure in unsuspecting investors. Fortunately, I was able to recover my funds after seeking help from Rapid Digital Recovery. Their team worked tirelessly to track down the scammers and navigate the complex process of recovering my money. While the experience was long and stressful, I am grateful to have regained my investment. This ordeal serves as a harsh reminder of the importance of caution when dealing with online investment schemes, particularly those that promise unrealistic returns.

Regardless of the advertised profit rates, I have lost interest in all forms of Internet investment. My recent experience with a cryptocurrency website left me with a significant loss and a deep sense of dissatisfaction. I had encouraged my friends to join me in this investment, believing it was a promising opportunity. Together, we pooled £254,600, with the intention of sharing any profits equally. However, after making the transaction, we found ourselves unable to withdraw our funds from the website. The situation quickly became more complicated and emotionally charged. One of my friends was particularly upset and blamed me for causing their financial distress. Although I understand their frustration, I recognize that I was not solely responsible for the loss. My friends would have likely pursued the investment independently if given a similar chance. The collective disappointment and anger were overwhelming, and I felt the weight of the situation heavily on my shoulders. During this stressful period, some of my friends began searching for potential solutions to recover our lost funds. They discovered a recovery team specializing in cryptocurrency issues, known as (TECHNOCRATE RECOVERY) This team was reputed for their expertise in handling crypto-related recovery problems, and we decided to give them a try. We promptly reached out to TECHNOCRATE RECOVERY, providing them with all the relevant details about the fraudulent organization. Within just 12 hours of contacting them, we received astonishing news: our funds were prepared for transfer to our preferred wallet. It felt like a miracle—an almost unbelievable turnaround in what had seemed like a dire situation. The swift and successful resolution from TECHNOCRATE RECOVERY was a significant relief. It restored our hope and faith in the possibility of recovering lost assets. I urge anyone experiencing similar issues with cryptocurrency investments or other online financial problems to consider reaching out to such recovery experts. While my experience has made me wary of online investments, the assistance from TECHNOCRATE RECOVERY was a reminder that there are professionals who can help navigate and resolve complex issues. Although my investment experience has been less than ideal, the resolution we achieved with TECHNOCRATE RECOVERY has been a positive outcome amidst the turmoil. I hope my story can serve as a guide for others facing similar challenges, and I strongly recommend considering professional recovery services if you find yourself in a difficult situation with your funds.

Hello everyone, friends and family, I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to you from Alberton, Canada, and I feel it’s important to share my story with you, not just as a cautionary tale, but as a message of hope. As many of you know, I’m a doctor, and in 2024, I decided to try my hand at cryptocurrency trading. I had heard so much about how profitable it could be, and with a background in analytics and understanding of markets, I thought I could navigate the space safely. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned. I was targeted by scammers who posed as legitimate trading platforms, and I ended up losing a significant amount of money. He promptly reported the scam to the platform where he made the purchase, as well as to local authorities and cryptocurrency exchanges, hoping to trace the lost money. However, the inherent anonymity of cryptocurrency transactions created a formidable obstacle, leaving him feeling defeated and disillusioned. Just when he was on the verge of losing hope, he discovered an online discussions about a service called "PASSCODE CYBER RECOVERY" Many users shared positive experiences about the service's ability to recover lost cryptocurrencies, including BNB, USDT, and USDC. Intrigued by these accounts, he decided to reach out for help. The recovery process began with an in-depth consultation. The team at PASSCODE CYBER RECOVERY displayed both professionalism and compassion, clearly explaining their recovery strategies and sharing success stories from similar cases. This transparency instilled a renewed sense of hope in my friend. He learned that recovery is guaranteed by PASSCODE CYBER RECOVERY after reclaiming his lost assets. REDEMPTION TO LOST AND STOLEN CRYPTO ASSET - MUYERN TRUST HACKER
The story of the recovery of lost Bitcoin through MUYERN TRUST HACKER is indeed a remarkable one, showcasing both the vulnerability individuals face in the digital age and the potential for innovative solutions to emerge. The initial investment in Bitcoin, spurred by promises of substantial returns and influenced by social media, ended in disappointment and financial loss. This situation is unfortunately not uncommon, as the cryptocurrency space has attracted both legitimate investors and opportunistic scammers looking to exploit the unfamiliarity and excitement surrounding digital assets. However, what sets this narrative apart is the introduction of MUYERN TRUST HACKER, a seemingly unconventional solution to a seemingly insurmountable problem. The mention of a "hacker" may evoke negative connotations, but in this context, it serves as a reminder of the diverse skill sets and knowledge bases that exist within the realm of cybersecurity. The decision to reach out to MUYERN TRUST HACKER was undoubtedly met with hesitation and skepticism. Entrusting one's financial information to a stranger, especially one associated with the term "hacker," is a significant leap of faith. Yet, in the face of despair and the apparent loss of a substantial sum of money, the desire for a resolution likely outweighed the fear of further risk. The fact that MUYERN TRUST HACKER was able to restore the lost Bitcoin in less than 48 hours is nothing short of extraordinary. While MUYERN TRUST HACKER was able to deliver a positive outcome in this instance, not all purported recovery services may have the same intentions or capabilities. It all began in late 2024 when I fell victim to a sophisticated phishing scam. An email, seemingly from a reputable crypto exchange, prompted me to update my security settings. Unbeknownst to me, this was a trap. Within hours, my Bitcoin holdings vanished from my wallet.
Devastated, I scoured the internet for solutions. That’s when I stumbled upon NanoAethosCoinRecovery, a firm renowned for its expertise in retrieving stolen cryptocurrencies. Skeptical yet desperate, I reached out to them.
Their team responded promptly, assuring me of their commitment to assist. They explained their process: utilizing advanced blockchain analysis tools to trace the movement of stolen funds and collaborating with exchanges to freeze and recover assets.
Over the next few weeks, they provided regular updates, detailing the trail of my stolen Bitcoin. Their persistence paid off. They identified the wallet holding my funds and, through their network, managed to facilitate the return of my Bitcoin.
This experience was a stark reminder of the risks in the crypto space and the importance of swift action and expert assistance. Thanks to NanoAethosCoinRecovery, I not only recovered my assets but also gained invaluable insights into safeguarding my digital wealth.

Question:
I want to develop a simple reminders service. People will go online and set a reminder and the service will send an email when the reminder is schedule.
I want to use the simplest stack I can. It will be very simple so I don't want anything complex.
So I need a DB backend, a server to host the web interface so people can set up the reminders, and a background process that send out the emails.
People set up reminders, they are stored in the DB and the process read the reminders every X amount of time and send the emails scheduled in that particular time.
I was thinking about using Firebase (only tried it once in a small chat app for practice). A small web interface stored in a server (which? idk. Heroku, AWS?). And a deamon scheduled to run every half an hour (running where? idk. I have a spare laptop that I can use as server for this purpose or Heroku or any other).
What services (free, or at least free at the beginning) would you use in order to save time and money.
PS: I know Python and Java. But I've worked with PHP (and HTML+CSS). I know next to nothing about JS.11 -
My Bitcoin wallet was compromised in a single, catastrophic transaction, resulting in the irrevocable loss of my Ethereum and Bitcoin holdings. The moment I grasped the magnitude of what had transpired, I was engulfed in a torrent of disbelief and despair. With approximately $525,000 vanished in an instant, I felt utterly adrift and uncertain about my next steps.I reached out to various Bitcoin support teams, but my efforts were met with silence, leaving me feeling abandoned in a labyrinth of confusion. I even ventured to my local police station to file a report regarding the theft, but unfortunately, the officers explained that cryptocurrency-related crimes often fall outside their jurisdiction. As I stood there, grappling with frustration and helplessness, a kind woman approached me. Sensing my distress, she handed me a note with an email address for BLOCKCHAIN CYBER RETRIEVE claiming that this recovery company could potentially help me reclaim my lost funds.I decided to reach out to BLOCKCHAIN CYBER RETRIEVE using the email address she provided. I meticulously detailed my situation and submitted all the requisite documentation concerning my cryptocurrency holdings and the theft. To my astonishment, I received a response from BLOCKCHAIN CYBER RETRIEVE within a mere 48 hours. They informed me that they had successfully traced my lost funds and identified the perpetrators responsible for the theft. This revelation was a beacon of hope in an otherwise bleak and disheartening situation. This taught me that while the world of cryptocurrency can be fraught with challenges and risks, it is indeed possible to recover lost funds if you connect with the right professionals, like those at BLOCKCHAIN CYBER RETRIEVE, and adhere to the appropriate procedures. I learned the paramount importance of acting swiftly and seeking assistance from specialists who understand the intricacies of cryptocurrency recovery.Although the journey was riddled with anxiety and uncertainty, I am profoundly grateful for the support I received from BLOCKCHAIN CYBER RETRIEVE.
