Blender animation playback under
Windows - 9.1 fps
Arch - 10.6 fps
Impressive! Both are too slow to be usable (curse my shitty laptop) but hey, I'll gladly take that 1.5 fps improvement.4 -
Dear devrant, I apologize for any really random rants for the night, I'm out drinking and clubbing with friends and am already having Dev thoughts.43

Hello everbody!
For college I'm doing a small research project. The goal of my research is give advice to web developers on using JavaScript frameworks to create mobile applications and help them decide which framework to use by comparing 3 popular frameworks. I decided to compare React Native, Ionic and NativeScript. I myself have only used React Native to build a mobile application. I would like to get some opinions from other developers on this matter. I want to compare the frameworks based on the following categories: developing time, performance, debugging an learning curve. Are there developers here who would be willing to write their experience with these frameworks? Or maybe some of you know a forum or other place where I can ask for some help:)3 -

Him: Is Hava a type of programming language?
Me: What?

I just flashed BIOS on my server. I don't own a UPS, and i was only using 1 of the 2 PSU's since i couldn't find a second power cord.
Without a doubt the scariest 30 seconds I've ever experienced while working with IT1 -
I don’t know what’s worse:
1) The dev that whitelisted .jpg and throws an exception when .jpeg is used.
2) I’m having to educate business users how to rename a file.5 -
I just realized that after 6 years of programming, things that would make normal people angry/happy/emotional currently have no effect on me, no matter how extreme it is, maybe I am losing my humanity bit by bit7

The shortcut for opening chrome history on mac is ⌘Y
Why the fuck would anyone do this? Because when I want to open history, the first letter that comes to my mind is Y obviously.
Also, why is downloads J? Who comes up with these shortcuts?10 -
The reason people never leave a Linux distro is because they spent so much time setting it up their minds are just mentally exhausted to ever think of doing it again.3

Finally, after 3 tries and lots of experimentation, I have set up the arch system. I am in "deep" love with deepin desktop environment.
P.S. - Still finding a good web browser though firefox sucks so bad right now plus the fonts are super bad.13 -
For our 4 programming tasks we had to use Git. Which i fully support, except whenever one of my group members made a change she would commit min 8 times and the message would be "change". Even after mentioning to her that she should write What she changd she just changed it to: "change filename". I mean yeah, i can clearly see which file you changed but come on, WHAT in the file did you change. While doing this she also managed to overwrite my changes or completly delete my files forcing me to constantly restore shit 😐10

TL;DR: a good friend recently finished building an electric car from scratch with a team and I bought him a C++ devDuck as a congratulations gift!
one of my best friends recently presented at my colleges capstone rollout, and his teams project was to literally BUILD AN ELECTRIC CAR FROM SCRATCH. all the circuits and everything, designed from scratch, and nobody else on the team was very good at software, so he pretty much wrote the software himself. I just ordered him a C++ devDuck as a congratulations gift!8
