What do you think of my new mouse pad

tldr:
everyone got the same hardware because senior dev liked it

So my project team was allowed to buy some hardware (monitors/keyboards/mouses etc.) so teamleader asked what we want.
senior dev: i need 1 monitor because i like to work with 1 monitor. i prefer this 27' zoll 4k monitor for around 1k dollars. since i work with multiple pc's i like this bluetooth keyboard and mouse because u can pair them with them and switch witch a click between the pc's costs around 300 dollar (1 setup of this costs 1'300 dollars)

me: so i like to use 2 monitors because i tried out multiple setups and this works for me the best (also what i have at home). but they dont need to be fancy. 2x 24' zoll montitors for each 200 dollar are enaugh (together 400 doller)
i also only work with 1 laptop and would like to have just a simple keyboard and mouse with cable because everytime they dont respons or battry runs out im fk triggered. so for me its okey if its this 30 dollar keyboard and 20 dollar mouse. it would be cool if i could get this mechanical keyboard for 80 dollars but not really needed. i only prefer mechanical keyboards a little bit more. and also i would like this mousepad i really like. it makes the mouse super responsive it's also just 10 dollars (this setup cost 510)

so at the end the teamleader was like. ah u know what senior dev has more xp and knows whats better for coding so we only buy this for every dev. but that 10 dollar mouse pad is okey u can get this extra its not that expensive.

WTF why u dont give me the cheaper setup which i more like. and why u even ask.

Snuck in my snazzy new mouse pad at work... No one has noticed yet. Hehehe.

I'm a web developer and know jack about hardware. My wife's personal laptop was going very slow so decided to upgrade to a SSD. How hard could it be?

Turns out to be very fiddly trying to disconnect and reconnect 4 ribbon cables. To get to the HD and replace it.

Restarted laptop and thought it was all good, but only certain keys worked and the mouse pad moved but didn't click?!?

Had to take it apart and reconnect twice more but now it's fully functioning once again.

Sticking to software in future. Massive respect to hardware specialists!

At my last startup, the company decided to formally adopt core values after being in business for ten years already. They even emblazoned them on a mouse pad and sent it out to every employee as company swag. I quickly learned that those values were more for show. It was a sign of the culture going downhill. Values included teamwork and collaboration. But since I was only an IC and wasn’t a manager or director or VP, I was expected to be a mindless worker bee. Even when I just asked logical followup questions, I was treated like I was being insubordinate and “questioning their requests.”

Got me a new mouse pad since the only one I had was branded with my last jobs logo. Mordor is right where I usually rest my hand so it will eventually get dirtier and therefore more evil.

There is a drawing competition for my currently most played game.
I'm on vacation and the deadline is when I get back. So what did I do?

I made an inspiration cluster with the character and drawings having this arrogant face (laptop, gimp).
I sketched on my phone and put it on my laptop (the sketch). I have no desk here so I'm drawing on my bed. I have no drawing pad so I'm drawing with my mouse. Then I draw it in gimp with colors and everything (the stroke in another program on my gfs laptop), put each layer in inkscape to svg-ify them and to hq-render them back in Gimp. Corrected a few things in Gimp. Added more detail, effects (glow, gradient instead of flat color ...).

~6 hours over two days. That was fun. And fucking unprofessional.

My setup. A macbook pro retina 2015. Dell 23inch monitor on a wooden monitor stand bought from Ali Express. With a Razer Goliathus extended mouse pad. Creative Sound Blaster E5 DAC headphone amp. And Bose OE headphone.

How often do you guys use mouse/track pad ?
I started being a programmer, I like doing most of my work the keys way.

ESRI's ArcMap...

Run a geoprocessing tool, now don't dare move the map, or click ANYWHERE on the interface! Don't even breath on the mouse pad! Oh... wait... too late... "ArcMap is not responding". At this point it's a 50/50 of whether it freezes for a long period then successfully completes the task, or it crashes.

Doesn't matter what you are doing - open the editor tool bar, create a database connection, make a table join. All will result in the same issue, such an unstable piece of software with no real market competitors to make the organisation build anything better (ArcGIS Pro wasn't much of an improvement, just another GPU Junkie).

New mouse pad came in.

You know you are fat when you press random keys with your belly. And right now i can't even reach something without clicking random things with the mouse pad. Welp i guess its time to go on a diet when your weight starts to be an issue for works that doesn't even need any physical activity 😂

I decided to try out a vertical mouse. So, far I really like it. I do need to get use to the fact they are taller then traditional mice. I keep knocking it off the mouse pad or over when I move my hand from the keyboard to mouse.

Whenever someone would like to look up something on my laptop I take a deep, dark pleasure in watching them first struggle to move the mouse with the broken track pad, then drowning in desperation after they realise it's a Linux system with i3-wm.
But alas, I am a generous God and help them with 3 lightning fast keystrokes to open my installed browser - which is eLinks.

I'm looking to get a laptop, and I want your opinion on which one to get, because I'm a dev and don't care about whatever most reviews are looking at. Here is what I want from it:
1. I'll be running linux on it
2. I need it to be powerful enough to go through heavy development
3. It has to be decent sized 15" and below
4. It needs to stay cool under light load, under heavy load I've got a good cooling pad
5. Battery is not that important, and discrete graphics are not that important

I will be hooking it up to a keyboard/mouse/monitor setup when at home or work

Any suggestions? I've been looking at lenovo thinkpads for their ruggedness and dependability and Dell laptops as they've been around for a long time. Ultrabooks (like the XPS) are appealing but I don't know how well they deal with heat and thermal throttling under heavy load?

The devRant mouse pad has been sold out for months ... are you ever going to have them back in stock? I want one!

Anyone running Linux on a kabylake new razer blade stealth? I want a pretty ultrabook but I heard the stealth had some driver issues like for the mouse pad and cam.
I'm particularly interested in elementary OS but any info is appreciated. I heard fedora runs decently out of the box but that was on a skylake.
