I sang in front of the clients to demo an app for 30 seconds. It's a dating app that allow users to sing and record a song and send it to other person. It's a famous way of courting here in the Philippines.
That was my ridicolous and embarrassing meeting ever. Hahahaha46 -
!rant: A friend posted the frontpage of a local newspaper in the Philippines. The summary is in 'lorem ipsum'! I checked it online(epaper) and it is still there! Someone's gonna be in big trouble...39

Here in Philippines, you can basically do whatever you want if you're a corrupt politician.
This is an example of a peak human (or politician, whatever you want to call it) displaying dominance by discussing about VueJS while having 0% experience on the technology.6 -
So I have this 13 year old cousin who's pretty determined to follow my footsteps as a developer someday. He really likes gaming and all internet stuffs. His future plans makes me happy since I may finally have a relative that is a developer. But darn it! He's kinda weird coz he still throws tanrums. One of his major tantrums(which happened again last night) is that he wants the wireless Karaoke machine to be turned off because he thinks that it's slowing down the internet. It was his sister's birthday party and the guests are partying. I've told him many times that the signal for the karaoke is different from that of the router which has nothing to do with the internet slowing down. It must be caused by q device that is updating some apps or whatever. We live in the philippines and our internet provider is quite fast but it has this stupid fair usage policy that caps our bandwidth to a minimum speed if we reach a certain amount of data usage. Since he goes to youtube everyday in 480 and 720p, I explained it to him that it was one of the causes.
Last night, I almost got triggered because I wanted him to believe about the wifi being different to that of the karaoke machine's radio and that it is not connected to the wifi and not using data. I also told him about different kinds of wireless signals which I studied as a Software Engineering student back then and yet he still doesnt believe me. And what almost triggered me is that i saw his steam client updating while watching youtube. I told him that was it. But instead of agreeing, he refused to believe me and just told me that steam is just updating and he's not downloading anything which made me think why he keeps going to youtube, because...he's not downloading. Oh God! Good luck to this kid. 😂5 -
The tale of the asinine Typescript framework guy continues:
>guy makes a framework
>promotes it
>people don't wanna use it because it's mediocre
>doesn't care, he still promotes it
>people started criticizing his framework
>won't listen
>calls his critics haters
>thinks PH tech guys are way behind the world
>says a lot of bad takes in tech himself
>such as NodeJS used as a front-end
>people tryna correct his bad takes
>calls them haters too
>people start complaining
>gets banned in many PH tech communities
>except one
>total windbag in there
>somebody calls him out, explains why they hate him
>he says his framework will be famous and we will all be eating dust
>heckler tells him he is not only the person in the open source community and tells him a famous Filipino open source contributor
>says he doesn't know this famous contributor and he doesn't care
>challenges heckler to confront him face to face
>heckler calls his bluff and gives a place and time to meet
>big guy agrees to meet
>people are clamoring for him to shut up
>admin tells him and the heckler to shut up
>big guy pushes it
>calls the admin (female) a puta (whore)
>gets banned
>goes on Facebook saying that his heckler will not show up in that place despite it being the favorite hangout place of the heckler since 2017
>that he is being banned because of haters
>people call him out on his Facebook posts and he takes them down
>people in the tech community started thrashing his Github with prank forks and PRs
>guy tries to shame them on Facebook
>gets rekt by tech people
>goes on Twitter saying that backward PH devs are oppressing him
>even tagging the famous devs
@marcusignacius I have lost total sympathy for this guy and his framework. Arrogant, petulant, childish, and uncharitable. honestly he brought this on himself.

So I just recently found out there's a local idol group named MNL48 in here.
Basically bringing the seiyuu/J-Pop culture in the Philippines.
...
Maybe I should've became an idol instead of a senior high school programmer :/3 -

I'm Programmer/Analyst in one of the hgh ranking BPO company here at Philippines.
I'm currently on a project, I'm on a team who's managing machines parts. The project is CATERPILLAR.
The biggest challenge here is if there is a outage on the system, the number of Severity 1 issues keeps coming like there's no tomorrow. And there's only 5 of us on Tier 2 which is managing this abends, errors, bugs in the system.
Is there a way on preventing this outage/connection error. Like HELLO IT IS A BIG COMPANY !!! HOW THE HELL THEY CAN'T EVEN MANAGE THEIR CONNECTION!!!!2 -

My bank here in Philippines is having a glitch with there system since yesterday. the current balances of the depositors are not tally anymore and most annoying thing is they don't allow to withdraw money in their atm machines until now. I know its very difficult to fix this issue but we our need money in order to eat! 😢2

There's a workshop here in Philippines about Sprint Design & it is based from this book.
Any of you guys read this book?
Does the concepts/ideas in the book helped you in your work/personal projects?2 -
In the Philippines, when you go out while you are coding then you get the traffic enforcers as your new friend.

I really admire and respect devs here in our country that are helping to build useful apps to combat covid-19 pandemic but please, if the National Government already has this kind of applications or in their pipeline (covid contact tracing, qrcode checkpoint, assistance, etc..) please do not try to hijack by creating similar app and market it. Instead of helping it creates confusion on which info to follow (ie DOH tracking) and which to use. #random2

Where can I find a job that accepts internship or entry level positions? I'm from the Philippines and I'm wanting to find a tech job that suits my experience. It's very hard for me to find a job during the pandemic.

Oh my goodness! Philippines what are you thinking? You know "our" country is going to host the SEAG you should've started the preparation since last year. This is the problem "sometimes" in Philippine government. Those at top (management) thinks since it is IT, it would be easy to source out. This is also one reason why the IT Professionals from private looks down to Government IT.
