Mastering git has become the best thing ever. I feel like a real code monkey. Swinging from branch to branch. Eating all the bug-eeee eeee ahhhhh oooh aaaaaaAAHHHHHH!2
Google: How can I fix this something something...
Me: Ahhhhh that looks like it could be the right solution *scrolls* yep looks great and would work! But wait there’s something weirdly familiar about the question... *scrolls* oh crap it was me 2 years ago!!! 🤔😂3
Me: walks into a coffee shop and orders a latte
Barista-1: can you cover for me tomorrow.
Barista-2: I am busy with family. Do you have plans?
B-2: are you sick?
B-1: yeah! My throat hurts soooo much and I can hardly breath!
B-2: ahhhhh. That’s too sad.
B-1: commences to make my latte while breaking heavily into it.
Me: Walks the fuck away.
Fuck. That. Shit.
The $6 it costs for that latte isn’t worth missing a week of paying work with the flu!
I got no time for that type of shit. Stay the fuck home for fuck sakes.7
Holy fuck need to finish code but storm (fucking fucking biiiiig storm) is coming and your electrocity is down ahhhhh shiiit5
spent 7 months building a gigantic platform that took in healthcare messages for formatting and server routing.
Give a demonstration to the company
They each take turns patting me on the head and saying "ahhhhh What a cool craft you've made" "We're very Proud of you" "You deserve a cookie"
Im outchere ! Back to agency work4
I just want to share my very first companion. Haha... This is btw my laptop way back 2011, used it to store highschool memories and silly stuff, if you know what I mean. This is the laptop that I first used the labrynth of directories such as A folder contains A to z Folder and again inside one of those contains A to z again lowered and upper. This is also my partner in coding C++ back in the days, I usually write code in paper and when back to school I used our lab's computer. Ohh and I also have my anime addiction started on this too! One time I discovered the side VGA and connected it to our big LCD screen but by the time I plugged it in, it produce explosive sounds, and my grandpa said that that lcd tv is only for 110v not for 220v. I learned the importance of voltages that day. I just went back and open it to backup my highschool memories and stuff to my external hdd. Ahhhhh memories.3
Holy fuck is learning new frameworks frustrating.
I'm trying to setup a simple fucking flutter app and all their tutorials are basic shit with no auth/complex routing.
Any feature of flutter that's not in a tutorial has absolute shit documentation with 0 examples on how to use it.
Material app has like 20 properties and if you click on something like on generate there is shit for knowing what the fuck it's expecting.
Stackoverflow has a ton a code but that's just it, code. I have absolutely no idea how they generate the code they have from the documentation on the site. They must have been following flutter from the start.
Muhahahahahahah i came up with a way to post my testing ROMs on xda without fucking noobs downloading it and spamming the thread with wifi doesnt work and ETC bullshit. (Ahhhhh i hate them sooooooooo fucking much).
Easy just create a C code that has the URL encrypted and the code decrypts it. Well noob woudlnt be able to decode it on his own. (At least i hope so).
Still less people get access to it and less spam.4
Me: coding is fun , la la la, nothing can go wrong~~ ♡
Me: ahhhhh my back!! Why was i sitting in that terrible unergonimic position
Moral of the story , practice good seating posture and you wont get muscle knots! ;-;3
I absolutely love the dev community but one thing I just can't stand is the snobbery that permeates it. I don't understand why some devs expect non devs to know or understand the intricacies of computer programming or even computers in general when it's really not their job to do so.
"Ahhhhh!! How DARE this non dev PEASANT ask me about hacking Facebook accounts!! Does he NOT understand the basics of DNS spoofing and social engineering!!1!!1! bahh"2
also one line if statements that don't use brackets.
Probably every time is use new API.
Like today i needed to use Google maps API (Ahhhhh google) and i was getting a shit ton lot of errors at first after 1/2 hour all errors fixed and after 1 hour i learnt the basics of the API.
But man did i felt bad.1
I have my first ever PRESENTATION ever tomorrow
And there will be at least 40 people shit.......
I have to explain the program logic in a very easy way, which is a pain for me.
Any cheers for me?22
Ahhhhh fuck i have to install windows just to see if gradient banding is issue even in windows. If so this is fucked up and i will need some Acer nitro 5 AN515-42 owner without this issue to boot linux and get the correct values for me from i2c.
But since i have the feeling it will happen in windows too is there somebody willing to help me and has this laptop ?3
I have ported multiROM to my old device.
But touch didnt work and density was too high.
So i created commit (from github) and build.
After 5 fucking hours i fucking realized that my server repo was still without the fix and that i didnt pushed it to my local one.
And so 5 hours wasted like that for not pushing the changes to local repo too.
I just oversleeped...
Im not a dev yet, i have a contract job at the factory.
I have worked 1month already from 3 that i singned up for.
The worst thing is that i said i need a day off to give specific papers for my university. It was supposed to be today but i moved it tomorrow due to the problem with transport.
Well my superior is propably realy angry right now... On the bright side i will have 2 days off...
I wont get fired (hopefully) because as contract job they should only substracy the daily pay from my monthly salary.
This is my first time that im late for a real job. My intuition says that i should go but i wouldnt bear the shame... If i were to go i would be late minimaly 2 hours. I have no idea what to do... I will propably stay home and lose the daily payment because im not strong enough to bear the shame today. It would be very difficult to get in the company as well. Ahhhhh! Its difficult to make decisions when you are shy, lazy and scared.5
I am so fucking tired of sitting here all day every day adjusting paddings and margins. Oh fucking hurr durr you got one of the millions of fucking elements to not overflow on your page, well does it work on *this* resolution and *this* orientation? No, well fix that and then go back and fix what it breaks.
I swear to God I never want to touch fucking CSS again it's all I've done for a yesr and it is driving me up the god damn wall. This is my career, I shouldn't fucking dread coming in to work because I know how much bullshit I'll have to deal with. It's awful.
I don't get how anyone has good looking complicated pages that just look good on every possible resolution, it's fucking mind boggling that anyone can sit there and adjust heights and widths and paddings and margins and floats for hours on end nonstop just watching shit get broken and fixed and broken and fixed and AHHHHH
I need a fucking smoke and a pint just so I don't have to think about this anymore13
Dang it ahhhhh. I have nothing to rant about because I work from home alone and it's so boring I never talk to anyone
Build a server Rack DIY
But after I finished the work, I realized, that my conversion from inches to cm about 0.5cm to short is
Ahhhhh, no better feeling than a fresh windows installation... Now to hate myself and reinstall Visual Studio and Android Studio...
*Sits in the corner and cries*
just had some kid tell me that angular and c sharp was the wave of the future - went on to say he had been coding for 5 years ... ahhhhh wtf is wrong with people ahhhhh5
Ahhhhh. Deleting data. Delete. Delete
With authorization, no less.
It's almost as pleasurable as drinking coffee.
ahhhhh yelled at for taking 2 hours for lunch when the cloud is down and I can't test anything other than boredom but get yelled at because I was told on by someone that takes two hours everyday for the gym... WOW - I'd still bang her
In summary, we're all agreed that we should have a meeting next week, to discuss what we should talk about in the meeting the week after.
sigh spent whole of yesterday dealing with shitty remote desktop connection, come in today, still shitty...wait what...ahhhhh no way.
*Connect HDMI to monitor and move RDC to monitor* Connection issues gone...ahhh fuck you.
Ahhhhh.... Now i want to really know how developers make softwares, ROMs, chatbots using ML and all these type of stuff.
- When i go through the guide for making ROM for a smartphone or a chatbot the writer asks the reader to take the code from github, everybody just give github link and move on. None tells how the developer wrote that bunch of code. I really want to learn core concepts behind all this. I know how to code but i can't apply it in real life applications. For me there is no bridge which connects coding to end products. I don't know what to do next?4
About 2 months ago, my company wanted to build a micro service that will be used to integrate 3 of our products with external ticketing systems.
So, I was asked to take on this task. Design the service, ensure extendability and universality between our products (all have very different use cases, data models and their own sets of services).
Two weeks of meetings with multiple stakeholders and tech leads. Got the okay by 4-6 people. Built the thing with one other guy in a manner of a week. Stress tested it against one ticketing service that is used in a product my team is developing.
Everyone is happy.
Fast forward to last Thursday night.
“Email from human X”: hey, I extended the shared micro service for ticketing to add support for one of clients ghetto ticketing systems. Review my PR please. P.S. release date is Monday and I am on a personal day on Friday.
I’m thinking. Cool I know this guy. He helped me design this API. He must’ve done good. . . *looks at code* . . . work..... it’s due... Monday? Huh? Personal day? Huh?
So not to shit on the day. He did add much needed support for bear tokens and generalized some of the environment variables. Cleaned up some code. But.... big no no no...
The original code was written with a factory pattern in mind. The solution is supposed to handle communication to multiple 3rd parties, but using the same interfaces.
What did this guy do wrong? Well other than the fact that he basically put me in a spot where if I reject his code, it will look like I’m blocking progress on his code...
His “implementation” is literally copy-paste the entire class. Add 3 be urls to his specific implementation of the API.
Now we have
The latter 3 are his additions... only the last one should have been added in reality... why not just add a type to the payload of the post/put? Is he expecting us to write new endpoints for every damn integration? At this rate we might as well not have this component...
But seriously this cheeses me... especially since Monday is my day off! So not only do I have to reject this code. I also have to have a call now with him on my fucking day off!!!!
