Developer Says: We have trained a model to automatically categorize user posts.
Sales Department Says: We are building a decentralized peer to peer blockchain neural network based on a scalable containerized cloud of quantum computers to power internet of things devices in augmented reality while users get driven around in autonomous vehicles powered by machine learning and pay for renewable energy with cryptocurrencies.9
So I attended a start-up event yesterday which was purely focused on North America and especially Canada.
Now I have a brain ache after listening to every kind of buzz words, for two fucking hours, that have ever been existed.
AI, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Silicon Valley, Angel Funding, Start-up, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Venture Capital, Clean Technology, Clean Energy, IoT, Data Scientists, Financial Forensics, Quantum Machine Learning and Data Analysis, Next Generation Technology, and the list is endless.
For fuck sake, can these people calm their titties down?
I am fed of people using the buzz words with no implementation at all. Things are not leading anywhere and we are still stuck with age old COBOL and such languages.
We still have a lot of time to bring this things to local market where anybody can use and implement them.
Now I need some good rant to calm myself down.10
I was watching this movie's trailer called Let's Be Evil, it did look promising based on the genre (Sci-Fi, Thriller, Horror) and synopsis (includes Augmented Reality (AR) tech) BUT as I soon was on this frame right here, I am not going to watch the movie now. 😂
You are making a high tech movie, at least do intend to add some realistic code snippets or scripts related to AR rather than showing some random plain HTML.
You can watch the trailer here : https://youtu.be/Nsbzf3bL4Qg
Code will appear around 0:156
New company moved in above us... Slogan : Blockchain, AI, Augmented reality and banking apps.....
Dude come on thee must be a buzzword CEO4
Cracking open Unity for the first time, tonight after the daughter goes to bed, for an augmented reality project.
After 2 years in a small company as an all around software developer (started with xamarin for Android/iOS, then Unity, then OpenXML, augmented reality, virtual reality and .Net MVC...yeah all that and lots more) I changed to another company and I'm here 1 month and some days. I am super enthusiastic and I like it here!! They're more specific and professional, exactly what I need at the moment.
What is the problem, you might ask?
I was given some projects, I have done most of the work but now an issue arrived. I did almost everything and now we're waiting for some answers needed before closing the projects. And I get bored. I want to work!! I need to continue the streak! Just give me something and I'll make it happen!! I am boreeed!!
What is wrong with me? Am I buggy or something?2
I work for a consulting company, my boss comes into the room full of engineers trying to work on Adwords campaign and asks us what words to use. "Should I use blockchain, I heart that's popular. What about AR?" None of us have ever touched any of those technologies and he's going to try and market us as such to some poor potential client he's going to B.S to. Get me out of here.1
Its my current one. at uni we have to do one big project that takes around one semester and is a collaboration with an actual company. so we have the project to create an augmented reality app for the hololens for blind people to orientate in a room with acustic feedback, just like bats do.
So currently we are working with unity on a hololens and a htc vive we got from the company, we are working with.
Because I am nearly blind too, this is just a gazillion times more interesting and cool for me. Really looking forward to the resulting software and I really enjoy learning all the skills in AR and VR.5
Have you ever played Zelda: Breath of The Wild?
Have you seen this system where you set a point on the map, and see a colum of light going up from this point with the Sheikah tablet?
Man I'd love to do that in an augmented reality system on a smartphone 😍5
RIP the sanity of iOS 12 augmented reality devs in one year from now when Apple ships a boatload of unannounced breaking API changes, and says no backward compatibility for iOS 12 apps on iOS 13 due to "experience optimizations."
Come on, give me a break! I m still trying, though I still haven't found where exactly the program learns the data to insert or it just knows (no questions asked)...6
brainstorming to do some opensource work in AR (Augmented Reality) and supporting platform. any nerd out there with same task i have......
Someone has to start manufacturing quality HUD glasses...
Imagine the possibilities and comfort...
no more neckpain from crouching above your laptop/tablet/smartphone, imagine the navigation systems, imagine you could read messages, articles, code, watch videos whatever you are doing, even work on your code with some kind of keyboard (or with speech recognition)
I want this soo bad..3
Any hololens or virtual reality / augmented reality developers here?
If so, mind sharing "lessons learned" experiences with VR / AR programming?3
Ok guys I need some suggestions.
Tell me some good (free) AR SDKs for Android. I'm interested in location based only...
There was a presentation day for the MSc I was participating in as a student.
The teacher was talking sassy things to a student that replied likewise and I stood up for him with reasoning and he just didn't like it (he wanted to be the boss in the class).
Then it came the time for my presentation. It was about augmented reality that I knew a lot of. So I opened the presentation and immediately the teacher threw some sassy things to me. So I stayed at the first page of the presentation that had the title and some fancy photos and screenshots and I started speaking about augmented reality from the ground up.
Needless to say, when I got to the second page the teacher had nothing bad to say and was almost admiring what I had to say.
I think you can call that badass.
ARKit 1.5: how to place a damned node on the wall?
Fellow ranters, did any of you manged to use successfully vertical planes?
I'm developing an app for put objects on a wall: I successfully identify vertical planes but every time I place an object (a painting) on this plane they are... Separated (?) from their planes.
It's just like a huge space between the painting and the plane.
What damned parameter I must change to attach my SCNNode to my planeAnchor?
I'm developing an android app that collect geolocalized data from users, give them information about the service, and added some augmented reality functions.
I need to create a web app that will be linked with the android app, showing graph about users data in a dashboard. Which JS framework you will choose to create the dashboard?
Guys did you ever worked with augmented reality? How is xloudia's service? I looked through many sdks and there's may be the one that best fits my needs.. however it's not the most popular one. Any thoughts?1
For my university last year research i would think to do augmented reality based research. does any one know research areas along with augmented reality?2
