Companies should understand the fuck that working from home doesn’t mean we are available 24 hours a day. For fuck’s sake let me eat in peace...7

My company that I work for now is making me work on my personal laptop for the past 4 months! Like wth! It’s work from home y’all, and you gotta work 24/7 but on your own laptops! A thing came up for a new project, and my laptop doesn’t have enough space for it, they were like, delete your stuff, make space! Wtf! It’s called a personal laptop for a reason!13

I fucking hate it when professional rivalry affects the students. I am a student and for some unknown fukin reasons there is some kind of professional rivalry in the higher ends of my college. The effect of this is unwanted criticism and loads of pressure on us, the students, to outperform the students belonging to the other part (of the rivalry). What the fuck.
If you are in such a field, make sure that your rivalry with someone else does not affect the ones who seek knowledge and learning. It is not right to harass and exploit people who respect you and come to you for learning. It not only affects you but also whole lot of people who look forward for some kind of professional behaviour from you. Keep rivalry away from students. Work for what is necessary and get the things done. It is as simple.4 -
Yesterday I met my cousins who are old enough to have kids. It was a good talk with them bringing back the old memories. One of my cousins has a barely 5 year old kid. I tried to talk to her and the conversation went like this:
Me: “hey there! Hi, how are you?”
She: “Good. What do you do?”
Me: “I am a computer science engineer. What do you wanna be when you grow up?”
She: “A scientist.”
Me: **thinking calmly, “Oh, what kind of scientist?”
She: “A Data Scientist.”
Me: **Two seconds of silence and decides to leave...4 -
Guys, if you have an extra computer lying around, support for the cause by contributing your device as a resource to SETI:
https://setiathome.berkeley.edu
If you discover something, the credit goes to you! If you are not happy, you can contribute to various other projects which are in need of your computation. Kindly consider.7 -
I hate it when the college gives priority to project report than project. I fucking hate it. Line spacing, fancy borders, font size, institutional logo, who the fuck cares? All I care is what work is going on and what have we learnt from it. Fuck these faggots. For the past week I am more of a typist than an engineering student.
I got even angrier when the evaluators did not even open and go through the report.
for i in range(sys.maxsize()):

Today I had to present my final year project called segmentation and detection of glioma using deep learning.
It took 15 minutes for the evaluators to understand what an mri image dataset (BRaTs) dataset looks like (they are voxels and not pixels). My god, these peasants...
And I was there expecting them to understand down sampling convolutions and up scaling convolutions of U Net model 😂. Life is so convoluted right now!2 -
Today is my birthday, I am 21 today. I know it’s weird to ask, but I ask for your blessings 😌
Thank you 🙏22 -
Thanks to DevRant, you have saved hundreds of monitors from getting smashed, keyboards from getting torn into pieces and mouses being flung across the rooms! There is a platform for rants now!3

“If it happens once, it’s a bug.
If it happens twice, it’s a feature.
If it happens more than twice, it’s a design philosophy.”1 -
I am 21 years old and I work on Machine Learning and deep learning. I have this problem and any advice on this is highly appreciated:
Whenever I sit to code, I put on some light music over the headphones. As soon as I sit, my parents think that I am wasting my time on YouTube or watching a movie. It is not easy to convince Indian parents. What should I do to get into coding without being interrupted or being falsely accused of enjoying in front of the computer? (Locking the room with be disastrous and I have tried it 😅)
Please help 🙏7 -
When you realise,
WhatsApp on iOS supports perspective view in the chats.
Yeah, the chats appear to float over the background! As you tilt the iPhone, it adjusts accordingly 👌3 -
Switching to macOS was an entry to paradise.
I go to Windows only to play Call of Duty. It’s crap and always will be.
P.S no comments on Linux.8 -
Code never lies
Comments sometimes do
Nah!
Code lies too, especially when you train a neural network 😂😂 -
When professors rely on YouTube to teach you the syllabus, you know this is our education system **

There is fun in using Google Colab.
They unveiled free TPUs on Colab.
It took me an hour of really slow training to realise that even if TPU is enabled, you have to code it explicitly to enable it.
After an hour I realised I was using only the CPU 😂😂

We here in India are going through a nightmare. We have our CS syllabus from 1990s, we still write lab records, and solve 10 pineapples problem for placement training. Nobody really bothers about actual skill or knowledge, are like sheep behind feed. Passion is taken for granted and overruled by the “experts”.
A good education in CS starts from the hunger to solve problems that would matter to people. Future of CS education is in online courses that give out ideas to generate more ideas and inspire programming not as a subject but as a basic need of the hour. People should love the fact that CS is queer in many ways but is very powerful. Basics are important but the education must hold on to what is currently happening in the world.
World will be doomed when we start making students study the same thing what we did, except it is called Math. A subject has to be dynamic. If anybody agrees what I say, spread it so that world will understand what learning means... -
Why is it such a pain when I have to install all my external modules of Python for PyCharm? JetBrains products are cool, but this,... literally had to remember all the modules from scratch.1

Anybody out there know best library in Python for visualising a robot’s path graphically given its X and Y coordinates? Turtle is way too boring... please help...2

What actual pain is, trying to install CUDA on Windows (that should be a pain there itself) and all after 3 hours you realize your lappie doesn't support it (Geforce 820M)! There goes my dream of Theano, PyCuda and Tensorflow-gpu ...6
