So this is a pretty sweet read about burning out and how to avoid it sorta... https://smashingmagazine.com/2016/...

Really simple to create, will take ages, but thought I'd share it with all the devs that hate css.1 -
Hate how UX gets under valued... as it determines how many users will reuse / buy / recommend your product / website.4
-
So I freelance from time to time for this web design company. They asked me to tediously update content on a html site for them (over a 100 pages)... asked why no CMS they replied the customer has no budget... but trying to convince them to move to a CMS as HTML has become unmanageable. Then to find out they are going with another company months later...

When your network admin doesnt realize you are a developer and get paid to fix problems. Tries to change your background to Justin(e) Bieber with group policies and you overwrite them in the registry. Now to plot revenge...3

People complaining g that Facebook didn't make a flag for Haiti... but what have they actually done for Haiti other than complaining about a bullshit slacktivism feature that makes them feel good while actually doing fuck all.

Dev : Every user in your organisation requires their own username and password...
User: Why?
Dev: Because if everyone uses one account, every note, product, message etc made by all the user's will be saved to that one account and confuse the he'll out of everyone using it when they can't find their 'own' information they made/captured/downloaded.
We just need the user emails.
User:We can't give you all the user emails just use one account ....
(The reason for not providing us the emails is purely cause it would require user to do work and that's out of the question)
Dev: Uhm ok, but this is not what you want, and *interrupts*
User: It is what we want, do it like that everyone will understand and it will make the system easier.
*Two weeks later*
User: Why is there only one account? Why doesn't everybody have their own account? This is not what we wanted.
... The shit you have to deal with when you are on holiday ...undefined where to hide bodies you still thing it's our fault working even when i'm not working i was right and you were wrong stil my fucking problem6 -
After 3 years finally taking an actual holiday... I don't have my computer with me, no access to work, no WiFi... Just my beautiful family, the beach and a beautiful resort to explore.6

When you rock out a solid day of development. Making what use to be an 8 hour job 30 minutes, and everyone looks at you like you are a wizard. This is how I left the office today...3
-
Is it just me or is what susspose to be the tech giants, making more and more n00b mistakes lately... Apple's latest update "best release of iOS yet" bricks the phone, Samsung phones are blowing up...
Things are continously prematurely released to try and beat everybody in the market place which just leads to unimpressive and dangerous product releases.3 -
So after a pretty packed day of family time, DIY, play dates and parenting, I managed to squeeze in a couple of hours of game dev... now to get up in 6 hours to go to work.1

When your development team gets called out to a testing site to fix the problem with the software not login in... and you emailed all the user's and the it admin to install the new software update due to security update and a server changeover... only to realise that all of them have the old version installed. I expected the user's not to follow instruction, but the IT admin... really?

Me: Hey Steve why are you working at this workstation today?
Steve: Cause I broke my computer and the one next to my computer, and this one is taking so long to sign in.
Me: It's probably just taking long because it's talking to the other two to find out if it should log you in.
Steve: Oh dear, can it still talk to the one I turned off?1 -
When you implement a 3rd party payment system, and it doesn't work... and their support can't fix the problem... So you debug their code and send them the revised code and they update their GIT repo and update their documenting.14
-
When you are in the zone coding and you get a call at work "asking if your busy?" :/ then being told it's not important it can wait.... So you hang up and cannot remember wtf you were in the middle of.3

Adhering to Apples million and one icon requirements, including the 1px size difference icon and then reading "@3x about 66 pixels" Implementing the million different icons into the application only to find that it's using the smallest one anyway...1
