Can't you just display the valid pattern for an username instead of showing different error message everytime.

If plain ASCII and only letters and numbers same for them, just show only letters and numbers, and
what's that hourly limit.
I just couldn't sign up after wasting time thinking of an username.

DevRant is the best. I just gave Imgur another try. It still makes me depressed and loose faith in humanity. All those stupid people. DevRant is much better. Here we have smart people that know how to approach problems and understand jokes.

Why should devrant have comment chaining feature?

I have seen in a lot of forums (here, Imgur, reddit, LinkedIn etc) that there are a lot of developers without a job.

And most of them live in USA. I have not seen a person who is struggling to find a job in EU or some other place.

Why is this the case? In USA where the demand for developers is very high.

I read a post on LinkedIn: "40 INTERVIEWS and no one HIRED! Yet another friend telling me she can not find good talent. My thinking - If you interviewed 40 people and did not hire someone, then it's time to look in the mirror. The problem is recruiters and hiring managers are looking for the 'PERFECT" candidate. NEWSFLASH! There is no 'perfect' candidate. If you have someone with the right attitude and skill set, and they fit in with the team, why not HIRE them? There are so many qualified individuals still job searching. Yet I see the same jobs re-posted, over and over again, being left vacant for months. Who took a chance on you? Maybe it's time you a took chance on someone."

I don't think it is the "competition" because I see everywhere. I have seen entry-level or JR. open positions that are not filled for months.

It took me 1 month, sending nearly 20 applications every day to find a job in USA.
And the second one I got lucky. I applied in Europe and after some month I got transferred in offices in USA.

I do not know how true this is, but seriously, what's wrong with companies in USA that require the PERFECT candidate. Or is it something else?

I hope devRant doesn't ever get trends like imgur, tumbler, and all the other platforms that I hate 😅

I used ShareX on Windows, but have had bad luck finding something with as much configuration options on Linux (Ubuntu). Any suggestions?

Edit: I'm currently using Flameshot, but feel like it's quite limited. I can't log in to Imgur for example.

Those who had the "pleasure" of working directly with clients know a thing or two about how a clumsy communication can have grave consequences.

Software developer and an Imgur user BackDoorNoBaby shed some light on these humorous situations and misunderstandings that often occur with clueless clients. Because we all have our niche interests and specializations, and it’s easy to sneer at the plebs who just don’t get it. To be fair though, dealing with unrealistic demands by clients who have no real understanding of what you do must get pretty frustrating at times, and if you work in IT, you’ll surely have come across at least one of these situations before.

What we have here are the daily trials and tribulations of an IT worker. Clients that read the latest trends in a tech magazine and want it right now. Business people who think that because they have the money, solutions should magically materialize. Clients that complain about something not functioning properly, when they clearly don't have a clue how to use it properly. We all know this kind of clients, and these kind of 'horror' stories are part of what makes working in IT so special. Sometimes humour is the only suitable response.

When I build a large project, I open devRant, Imgur or youtube while I wait, but get so caught up that I don't realize when the build is done and spend way to long surfing when I should be working

Oh yeah, I wanna rant... What is this awful image compression on DevRant?! A lot of time, images posted by ranters are illegible if they contains text. If we are lucky enough, the ranter will then post an Imgur, else... It would be really great to get an image quality equal to DevRant quality... Please!

@dfox i like the new stories feature. would be cool if there were another section that only showed posts with pictures. kind of like imgur is to reddit

So I was bored today and I decided to jump on the “shit on Facebook for being offline“ train by posting some PROGRAMMING memes on the rest of the available social media. I didn’t repost like everyone else and everything was fine until I made the mistake to post them on imgur as well. Apparently imgur is full of toxic, sad, arrogant pricks that will downvote the shit out of anything in an instant, without really understanding the posts. If you think reviews on the app store, google play or review bombings on steam are the definitions of stupidity and ignorance or that comments on Facebook are everything wrong with this world, then you haven’t tried posting on imgur.
Seriously, fuck imgur.
