For two weeks I am paid 50$ an hour 6 hours a day / 5 days per week as someone called "Web deployment supervisor". The work is based on checking if the website throws an error and fixing it (devops) and staying in touc with the customer and helping him. The wevsite i wrote is just a small PHP site, well tested, almost no user input, if you dont drop whole DB it cannot basically crash. So for past week I am just copypasting documentation for the client what/how to do things. Today I already sent him same info 4 times. For me as a student and a freelance web dev it's a gold mine. I am having vacations for 14 days (thanks to damaged school water supply), getting paid 50$/hour for playing PUBG and using Ctrl+F in my Firefox, but god hell, it's so fucking psychically hard. Sometimes I have an urge to scream on that retard "I'VE SENT YOU THAT SAME SHIT 4 MINUTES AGO RETARD USE YOUR FUCKING SCROLL WHEEL IN OUR CHAT FOR FUCK SAKE".

I've been working on a thing and running on 5 hours of sleep daily.

I live in a developing country where not a lot of people know much about security, programming and such. The moment I make a post about coding or something on social media, relatives/friends/strangers come and ask me to hack a Facebook profile or request a free download link to PUBG. And when I say that I can't, or that it's not really possible, they fuss and blame me for it. God damn people.

Starting to realize I turn into AlexDeLarge when I play a few video games. (I'm not a hardcore gamer, just play the occasional fps or sports games.)

In game development feature creep tends to kill games because it's just as much about what's NOT there as what IS there.

Take The Last of Us for example. Would a strategic tower defense segment make sense? No? And if it was a *hugely* popular mechanic at the time of development is there a real chance they would have included such a segment in TLOU? Yes.

Don't just believe me. Go take a look at what happened to the original Fortnite versus the hills-have-eyes inbred offspring that it became all because PUBG and its format were cancerously mega popular at the time.

I used to think 30 minutes for an update ain't that bad, then I switched to Linux. pacman -Syu and you're done.

Now I'm using windows again due to PUBG and damn this feels like an eternity.

I've made a fucking retro game and it takes too much time and effort to make this thing when I complete my game I showed this to my cousins and their first words was it is too boring anybody could make it could you make something like pubg or fortnite when I listen to these words they were fucking demotivating and made me drive crazy I don't know how do I explain them how much hard to make something like this.

My survival in pubg game is way too less than the time it takes to load the game.

So a friend of mine was getting a BSOD, when he was starting Ghost Recon Breakpoint and PUBG,

turns out, the Stuff from his racing rig was being detected as cheating by their anti cheat software, and just crashing the system.

How do you define a app's nationality?

Right now India is banning Chinese app due to India-China border issue.

So how do you define? Based on the company location? Their developers location ? If a software contains a open source Chinese package, do you consider it's a Chinese app?

What about the case of PUBG mobile. The mobile version to publish by Tencent, so is it a Chinese app?

How many of you playing PUBG?

Api for providing a central platform of connected accounts. So you can do stuff like get your pubg info in discord or get your Twitter in steam. Has more uses I guess but that's just a starting point :)

My PC is now a malware battle ground.

Virus on my PC self running a page on chrome every 30 minutes telling me to remove other viruses. I really can't wait to see what the other viruses have to say about this one (horux.cz). 🍿

Higher refresh rates are an absolute garbage feature in warm countries.

My laptop switches to 300 Hz refresh rate, automatically, when I plug the charger in. And 2 mins later, my laptop is a literal oven and the fans sound like a fighter jet flying right above ur head.

My phone has a 144 and 120 Hz refresh rate feature but I never use it. I played a game of PUBG Mobile on 120 Hz and it made my phone so hot I couldn't hold it properly.

I'm sure you've heard of PUBG - Player Underground Battle Game. My flatmates are obsessed with it. Is there any way I can stop outbound connection to PUBG server or Asian Game Server? I tried to intercept the traffic couldn't find anything.

I frequently get asked form my friends, why I play COD over PUBG.
PUBG is slow ass game.
Also Playing TPP is fucking cheating. be a man play FPP.

In the morning to afternoon i do coding, debugging and sometimes deploying. In the night i just already start to play PUBG. I dont know why i am interested to play this game at the time.

But what i’ve learned while playing it is like looting the weapon and amno, find the easiest enemiest first (bot is still existed in the real game) , make some rotation, call the teammate if i am being knockdown and unluckly we landed then dead without weapon (too-soon) and fight for getting Winner Winner Chicken Dinner !!

Its like what i am doing every single day tobe better as developer, find some literature or articel, try to solve an easiest task, deploy it and boom its getting error and suddenly need to hotfix after it’s work with return 200 expected and no error logs on my APM😅

I want to play some games in my free time, what would be the best option for me ?

context :

1. i have never been a hardcore gamer. i don't dig multiplayer global kinda games like pubg, or other fps. I rather like offline story games like takken or NFS most wanted 2005

2. my current laptop is a macbook. i started development with windows laptop years ago, and at that time i was free enough to complete most wanted 2005 and max payne 1/2 (with cheats) i liked gta vice city / sanandreas as well, but i could not pass its missions and would rather end up roaming around

3. i recently played it takes 2 , some bmx bike racing and some archery game with my friend on his PS5 and damn i liked that crispy super fast and detailed graphical games. might be a good investment for relaxation and weekend time pass

4. i am shifting homes and in need of a personal tv/display as I don't want to share family tv anymore. i don't really watch any cable tv shows apart from news channels and mainly consume ott content (netflix ,prime Hotstar etc) i am wondering if a display could also be mounted on wall and could be able to run otts vis some firestick, jio stick or google cast etc.

5. as i mentioned that i never had a taste for gaming, i wonder if all above would be a bad choice and if i should simply buy a good windows laptop

( whatever that technology is , all i want is to control that screen content with a remote, like we do in tv)

or
Play it with Neurosky headband.

play it in virtual box in another virtual box
or even better
play it in Android Emulator.
