My partner has zero interest in coding and wants to have a baby, a week ago she started to yell install baby at me. Told her its not the right command. A few days ago she yelled apt-get install baby. Told her there was a user privilege problem. Today she came back with sudo apt-get install baby.
looks like we are going to have to have a baby!18 -
Was in the barbers having my hair cut and the barber was talking about how hard drives are obsolete as everything is moving into the cloud! Blew his mind when I explained the cloud is just computers and hard drives!9

When your client complains there site is slow and you find that they have added 80 full resolution images at 6000x4000 pixels to the home page!11

My avatar looks a lot like the 1980s version of Weird Al Yankovic. I never realized how much I look like 1980s Weird Al.7

When your client thinks they will get a quicker response by emailing you the same email to multiple addresses, they don't know I have a filter that sends them straight to the shithead folder skipping the inbox! Bye bye problem.1

People who savagely strike the keys on their keyboard when they type. Why??!! Do you find it more effective somehow?14

Am I the only one who thinks monitors turned to portrait looks dumb and can’t possibly be more useful? The number one reason people give when I ask is that they can fit more code on the screen. I don’t know about you but I don’t have the ability to glance at an entire screen of code in portrait or landscape and understand it immediately.6

I need help, my site said it's full so I have deleted everything in the media library but now all the images have gone!
Yes, thats its purpose!
Thank fuck it's Friday! -

When your client sends a cropped screenshot of the API keys and you spend half an hour typing it out multiple times trying to match it and failing, then another 30min trying to explain the simple process of copying and pasting text.
You can send a cropped screenshot but not use Ctrl-C Ctrl-V or right-click copy right-click paste.2 -
I read books on programming. The thing I most like about programming books is that they allow you to learn about topics that you would have never have thought to explore. When people look things up online, they tend to search very specific things, most times actual code. The internet is an incredible source for developers, don't get me wrong. But books allow you to learn about programming in a conceptual way which in turn will make learning new languages easier and allow your understanding of the languages you already know to be deeper.

When you receive a mass email along with all your competitors from someone looking for a quote. You know we are all just going to double our quotes as your being a dick.

The navigation bar closes or opens a different tab when we move the mouse in any of the following positions. YES, OF COURSE IT WILL YOU FUCKING NUMPTY!1

Finally took the time to start learning Angular 2. I wanted to do it right so I set up the development environment with webpack. Man does Angular 2 take a lot longer to get setup properly versus Angular 1. I mean it's worth it to do it properly but it was a lot more labor intensive getting a good dev environment setup than I had anticipated.4

Not only is the default password they set a piece of shit, the password field actually shows the password even after you save it, why even bother with security?
Hash your fucking passwords!
The internet kills my insides.4 -
What ever happened to the teachable moment? It seems to have been replaced by the insultable moment. I was fortunate enough to have mentors who didn’t immediately assume the worst of my intelligence when I asked a question. I’m going to try do the same.1

I hate to be this guy @devRant but the avatar creator is really lacking in Hispanic skin tones. I have to be either white or Indian.2

Amazon's stock price is a better uptime indicator than their fucking status page.

Sitting inside on a 3 degree day, wondering why I haven’t moved yet. Anyone in Seattle? How do you like it?1

Finally tried using github for one of my own projects. I've always used other tools but I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. The integrated tools in visual studio are great.

When I’m at home coding, I find myself listening to music with earbuds even though I have a pretty decent speak setup hooked up to my computer. Anyone else do this?3

So coming to the two year anniversary of my first internship as a dev, I want to say how lucky I am to work in this field. I've gone from being a strictly front-end developer to being a full-stack software developer and one of the things that's allowed me to progress so quickly is the fact that in this field, we are able to contribute from the jump and get our work out there. I have friends in other fields who, in their entry level positions, don't get the chance to apply what they've learned in school and in their own individual studies. I'm lucky to work in an exciting field and that motivates me to get keep getting better. -
ASP.NET MVC using Razor vs. Web API/JS framework? I know they both have pros and cons depending on the situation but which do you prefer? Go!

To embrace the TIFO (today I found out)
$git rebase -i <hash>^
You can reorder commits and squash.
I just used it, to amend a commit that was not HEAD with some changes I’ve done later.12 -
I work on a larger team where we do continuous integration so there is a high probability people will be working on the same files for different features. As a result, one of the best feelings is grabbing the latest files and not having to diff first thing in the morning.

It's like my life is divided into two parts these days. Some days I wake up and the sun is shining and everything feels good. Other days I wake up and remember that I'm going to be working on writing unit tests all day. :/
-
Obligatory joke about how much I need coffee in the mornings and the ways in which I cannot function until I've had it.

Thinking about moving a lot lately. What cities would you recommend? Versed in asp.net, JavaScript, Angular among other things to a lesser degree.2

I’ve noticed a large uptick in these AI = if statement jokes. Is there a catalyst for this or am I just noticing them more?1
