Its mostly about microsoft.
All the microsoft speakers use a macbook.
The only non microsoft speaker I saw used a microsoft tablet and had issues.6 -
Rich CEO's are so out of touch with reality.
We outsourced part of our software development to a third world country. During hiring process I had pushed for us to hire the more expensive, more experienced devs in a second-world country, but nooo we must save up those bucks. The pay is so low you wouldn't be able to afford rent in *city where CEO lives*.
As @GiddyNaya has ranted about, third world countries face impossibly slow internet and frequent blackouts. I also ranted about it in my last post. The "last straw" for the CEO was when our dev's computer started malfunctioning.
boss: When is that computer from?
dev: 2017
boss: 2017?! That's a dinosaur! Of course you're having battery problems!
me, trying to come up with an affordable solution for our dev: Well, you can have the battery switched.
boss: But 2017 is too old! Your computer should be *at most* 5 years old. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have your work-related tools working. (last sentence is ad verbatim)
The boss, of course, recommended a Mac. Mind you, the closest Apple store to our dev is 500km away! And a month of their salary will not come close to paying a Macbook.
Providing them with the equipment? No! We're already paying them a "competitive" salary!
Like seriously, how out of touch with reality can you be? Does greed blind you that much?
(The dev seems to have fixed the computer problems on his own tho)14 -

What cheapest macbook model has touchbar? This isn’t for me, I’ve read like 2016 2017 model that has touchbar and then I read that it has been discontinued8

Feeling pretty accomplished for someone who did no "work" today lol. I needed to work on side gigs but instead I:
1) Factory reset a 2011 Macbook Pro I'm selling and reinstalled Mojave using a patch (this laptop is officially unsupported by Mojave as of June).
2) Migrated all personal files from my windows desktop to my NAS. I'm turning this computer into a gaming rig now that I exclusively use my 2017 Macbook Pro for development.
3) Setup RDP from my macbook to my desktop.
4) Fixed registry errors and deleted junk apps off my desktop.
5) Erased and formatted all USB drives I had lying around.
6) Packaged up an old Xbox One for my brother-in-law which will get mailed tomorrow (included a few USBs for him since I rarely use'em).
7) Tested streaming my Xbox One X from my PC but it's laggy as F (both are wired, have static internal IPs, and use my router for DNS...it's just the app I guess).
8) Scored a like-new Scuf Vantage for my PS4 for $140 (the guy who was selling it paid $214 a month ago lol). I traded my spare Xbox One S for a PS4 slim and in an attempt to get used to it, I got this controller with thumbsticks in the same position as Xbox's.
9) Fixed and updated my Synergy app (mouse/keyboard sharing - I can use PBP on my 38" LG ultrawide and it's fairly seamless going between them).
10) Cloned a buddy's repo and set the project up to work locally.
11) Starting to get some work done while watching the Vikings game.1 -
MacBook Pro's (2017) keyboard is a fucking nightmare. So far Ive had more than 10 keys being detached from the keyboard. Luckily Apple has replaced those keys for free but this should not be a fucking problem on a $2600 laptop. Fucking hell.8

It was pretty big in Mexico and the U.S.
Well, one of the characters from that show is the singer/actor Drake Bell.
For a while, Drake Bell would **constantly** tweet about how much Justin Bieber sucks.
I aint denying that Justin Bieber sucks, i don't like his music at all.
But the constant attacks came out as jealousy, at least to me.
What does this has to do with development or even computers? Well this is EXACTLY how I feel about Louis Rossman CONSTANTLY making videos about apple products.
We get it man we really do, sadly for a lot of us the only way to get ios development done is through a fucking Mac
EVEN if his whiny ass is right about the hardware not being top notch and all that shit I AM still not able to explain a 2013(early...as in january) macbook pro still working with literally NO fucking problems. Before that the other macbook was just changed because we wanted the 2013 model. The thing worked, the one before did so too and the 2017 model that I have works, amazingly so i will add.
Still, the army of dell,hp and lenovo laptops that I've had before just died or are not functioning properly. Either it is my shit luck or Apple's "shitty hardware" got something really fucking right.

It is a damn fine operating system, a really good computing experience. It ain't your taste? Fine, das cool, but for fucks sake it does not mean that the other people are idiots or whatever.

This Macbook Pro (2017 model I think?) is probably. the worst computer I've. purchased in my life. Really, the worst electronic device surpassed only by my old Xbox 360.
Not only is t he keyboard absolute shit. as. you can see from the way this was typed and riddled with extra spaces and dots, but apparently. the way the monitor was built doesn't. let y ou simply replace the flex cables if they kick the bucket, you have t o replace. the entire screen. Because reasons.
It seems it was a common issue but. they won't fix i.t without charging you for THEIR fuckup.

Is a 2017 MacBook Air good enough for web development and for working in IntelliJ IDEA, Android studio & XCode?
I'll be building a PC with Ryzen 7 and Vega for performance intensive tasks later. I need a laptop with good build quality under $1000.

I got my new(to me) MacBook Pro last week, provided by work. I've got all my setup and config done, for the most part, and I've noticed something.
Performance is shit. Has anyone else noticed this about the 2017 and later models? The 2015 model I had before was much, much smoother. Just zooming windows, a previously butter-smooth experience, is noticeably choppy. I/O performance is garbage too. I have a small iotest script that just writes a string a couple hundred times to disk, deletes it, and repeats this activity 100,000 times. On my Linux machine at home with six year old hardware, this takes about three seconds. On my new system76 laptop it takes just over a second. On the 2017 MacBook Pro, it takes about forty seconds.
The 2017 and 2018 models are a direct downgrade in performance. Why isn't anyone talking about this?10 -

We got a new Macbook pro, 2017 model, i was all excited for it, my 2 coworkers and the manager not so much. But being that I am the only one that knows how to use it and will be working on new web related tech as well as advising our contractors and helping them with the ios and android part it was decided that I shall use this baby. So I’m thinking about buying my very first MacBook but I can’t decide which one to get. Im between the 2017 MacBook Air 256Gb or a 2015 MacBook Pro 128Gb. I’m afraid that if I don’t get 256Gb it won’t be enough for college and work. Just a little background for you guys, I’m a software engineer student and also an iOS/RoR intern at a software development company.

Can you suggest me if it will work fine or should I look for other laptops.

Spend nearly a year waiting for a super high end developer laptop. Tricked out MacBook Pro 2016: $4200+, Tricked out Surface Book 2/i7, $3700+
No 32GB ram because of Intel power consumption pre-Cannonlake. Mac doesn't have a touchscreen at its price point...
My gut ultimately says: NOPE.JPG
General hope is for GPU Docks like the Razer Core to come to Apple in 2017. Thoughts?5 -
Has anyone managed to install a Linux Distro over the Boot camp partition on a newer MacBook pro with touch bar? My old 2012 MBP had a tri-boot on it because it had Mint, Win10 and macOS living together in almost harmony. Now I have a 2017 MBP and I can't even get it to live boot from a USB (a type-C one at that! Because of the Nexus 5X I have lots of type-C accessories).1

I'm trying to decide between a MacBook Pro 13" (2017) vs. MacBook Air (2018).
Specs are somewhat similar; but with a huge price tag difference. The MacBook Air costs a quarter more where I live. I can afford either; my dilemma is which model's usefulness will last longer.

I am not looking for a "This is Why We Can No Longer Burn Our Music Files" Intro. All you need to tell me is the corporations that eat the world are protecting their copywrighted music and I must be up earlier and eat bettter breakkie than those individuals. That I can handle. Although I'm not a dev, I'm sure you can understand the feelling after you have worked for hours on attempting something, only to discover your effort has been in vain (much like my former relationships). Again, if you can give me any direction aside from hanging it up and attempting to find happeniness elsewhere, sock it to me. I deserve it. Thanks.
11 years ago when I used a Macbook putting together a playlist, inserting a blank CDR, and burning the file onto the CDR was very easy. I\'m am now faced with hurdles I sometimes scale, only to fall on my face.
I\'m not stupid, or uneducatated about flac, blah blah. I learnt it all myself. I\'m now using a windows operating system. Afew weeks ago I was able to burn what ever I pleased and it was OK.
Then one day, it just wouldn\'t do it. I was following no altered procedures. Since then it\'s been misery. I remember that ocenaudio once burned music files for me.
I don\'t know how to go about retrieving an instruction manual that will take me step by step as to how to do this.
You help would be appreciated.

Every 3 years or so I invest in a new iMac. I was holding on for the new M1 IMacs, which are ready to order. So I am trading in my 2017 Imac and guess what I get £420 🍾 trade in value. What I am saying is, they may seem pricey to most people but when you can get a 1/3rd back when you trade in for a machine that has run constantly for 3 years without any issues or downtime that’s a pretty good investment. 👌🏼PS the MacBook pros are shite, only a fool would by one of those😀38
