What the flying fuck is happening on the EU with the fucking GDPR corsairs!!
I made two - TWO - entirely static websites, hand-made, 100% cookie-free!! I didn't even need to store a goddam boolean cookie! No third-party content is EVER invoked, called or summoned! I hosted a small video to avoid Youtube! Facebook and twitter share buttons are links!! I DID ALL OF THIS ON PURPOSE AND INFORMED THE FUCKING CLIENT.
And THEN (and, of course, unsolicited), the fucking lawyers of an asshole GDPR corsair office came and scared the shit out of my clients and convinced BOTH of them to put the goddam GDPR cookie consent popup on the fucking websites!! And they took their bribe, of course...
In order to avoid billionaire fines because of the NON EXISTENT cookies of the SMALLEST, SIMPLEST, 2KB MINIFIED HTML page on the Internet.
Anybody else is suffering from this kind of behavior??9 -
If I do a job in 30 minutes it’s because I spent 10 years learning how to do that in 30 minutes. You owe me for the years, not the minutes.12

A girl i liked sucked at programming, used to fail our first programming course. I had a crush on her so i offered to tutor her for free and did a couple of her assignments when she was too overloaded with assignments. - Plan worked, she saw how nice and reliable i am so she did and helped me with some papers and eventually shes my girlfriend now.7

Let me share a piece of advice to entry level devs that are getting ready for job interviews that I wish someone gave to me when I was first looking for work straight out of school. Do not focus making yourself look good to this company by trying to make your resume flashy or trying to oversell yourself. Although its important to present yourself sure, but it should not be the foundation for you to base your interview goals around. Rather focus on the company itself. Find out whether the company itself uses modern technology, practices and upholds to project management and the software development cycle, find out how they work, communicate and develop as a team. Simply put focus on whether they are worth working for instead of looking like your worth being hired. Can they collaborate, communicate and solve problems efficiently. Otherwise you may end up getting hired and hating your job. Just a thought and some advice on my own experiences. Hope it helps someone.3

Yesterday was the first time i used recursion to solve an issue in our project..Never felt so good 😁6

*Doing a Peer Code Review of someone senior to me*
Me: This fix doesn't look like it will work, but maybe I don't understand. How does this fix the defect?
Senior Dev: *Blinks* It works on my machine
Me: But how does it work?
Senior Dev: It works when I run it on my machine...
Me: Do you know if this will fix the issue?
*Silence*
Never seen QA punt an issue back to development so fast.7 -
Me: I should try out Figma's vector tool
[30 minutes pass, this happened]
Pros: its nice
Cons: not as intuitive as Illustrator's or Inkscape's....
AND MUH GRIDS13 -
gotta love them comments:
#TODO: move this,
#TODO: deprecated,
#TODO: fix this,
#TODO: DON'T DO THIS,
#TODO: refactor,
#TODO: CHANGE THIS
I shit you not6 -
Had a PR blocked yesterday. Oh god, have I introduced a memory leak? Have I not added unit tests? Is there a bug? What horrible thing have I unknowingly done?
... added comments to some code.
Yep apparently “our code needs to be readable without comments, please remove them”.
Time to move on, no signs of intelligent life here.39 -
Vampire devs?
In my office, we have a big glass wall (a window wall, however you wanna call it), so we don’t need to turn on the lights until 5 o’clock.
Well, even though I’m goth, I hate to work on a dark office, but two of the other programmers don’t. Actually our boss adviced us to turn on the light to prevent vision problems. Fortunately, a partner of mine always turns on the light at 5 o’clock. They complain, so he tells them “oh, you vampires!!!” And they say “Elizadeath is the vampire here!”
What do you think is better? What works for you?18 -
School, if you're gonna define a custom local DNS for your networks, maybe make sure it's healthy?2

I got the job! Here we go to the "I have no idea what I'm doing" phase of life again. Thanks guys and gels. 😂4

XHTML, I had to work on an old project that was developed around it with IE 11 in mind, many bullshit limitations where a hassle, from all the tech, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Developing with workarounds was the norm. Never gonna develop with it.

Time management tips one must follow to be successful:-
1. Remove distractions:- Phone, Whatsapp, Instagram, FB, etc. All away from you during work.
2. Remove clutters: Get rid of not required things.
3. Eliminate redundancy
4. Emulate others: (My favourite) If someone has spend time and done some work. Do not reinvent the same work done just replicate that work and continue from that point.
5. Share burden: Team work and depending on others is not bad.
6. Make work fun: Most important if you enjoy your work you will give your best.5 -
FYI if you have ES file explorer get rid of it cause it has a major vuln that lets other extract files from your phone
https://xda-developers.com/es-file-...
There are many better alternatives, i personally use FX.

Been a while since I've posted, so I might as well look into getting active again, so hello old friends and the new guys :)
Ever since finishing my bachelors, I've been mostly working frontend with React and Jest testing. Might as well throw in my workplace.7 -
