Visual Studio 2019 is gonna look awesome… even though I don't get why the new "blue" theme will be violet. 🤔19
-
I was bored, so I made a quick devRantron theme based on the green, black and violet found in Maniac Mansion. Its just a quick work, but it works for me.
Here is the string: #000000, #000000, #6ad070, #000000, #6ad070, #d37eee3 -
So I'm toying around with an old Pentium M laptop I used to use back in 2013-2015,and it's surprisingly more useable than I thought it would be,but I swear I don't remember the internet relying so heavily on JavaScript.6

why is it so hard to get a job, why do they make it hard to literally get a job so you can feed into their system and make profit for them anyway. false sense of scarcity makes me so angry and interviews or applications always ask questions completely irrelevant and even after you get a college degree that just makes you have the ability to even apply to half the places. i get that you want the best person, because if you have to pay them a wage at all then they better work for it (get 4 part time jobs and live paycheck to paycheck), but seriously??
humans need to work, it is as natural as eating or sleeping, its such fucking bullshit that the bourgeoisie made working unbearable enough that the few people the government deems unfit to work obviously wouldn't, because working sucks, but then they are seen as lazy. sometimes i just want to go out and do some cyber-terrorism yk ? /j10 -
I hate the US education system, its just designed to fuel capitalism. It keeps getting less funding so that actually passionate, intelligent people get kicked out and replaced with people who only want to be a teacher so they can have power over others.
Why do they block news websites? Why do they block github, so their own robotics team can't even access the essential building blocks for the robot? They make everything more complicated and for the reason that it might distract you. Maybe just make topics engaging and not boring asf, just cramming for the exams so the school gets more funding. Maybe prepare students for jobs, allow them to do projects, pursue classes that interest them, and have any sense of individualism.
Anyways, yeah, the school blocked github so I can't do my FBLA project, I can't access the code for programming our robot for competitions, I can't even download software required for half of these classes. I have a Linksys router, is there any way I could set it up to bypass the firewall?15 -
Oh my fucking god.
So, basically, I’m at some mall with Violet Parr, but I’m not Dash. I’m someone else entirely, but still a Mr. Incredible’s child. Producers connect to my thoughts and say “Go to the bathroom”. I oblige, go in and see Mr. Incredible naked, absolutely destroying Frozone’s asshole bareback. He doesn’t see me.
Then, I go meta: “Well, producers now probably want me to find another bathroom!”
Mens' one is closed. Ladies one is open though. “Wait, if Mr. Incredible is there, and we’re in The Incredibles universe, we’re probably not in Russia, and no one will bully me, a little trans kid, if I go to the ladies' bathroom”. I go in and lock myself inside a stall.
Music plays. A hellish hybrid of Tessa Violet from “Crush” (https://youtube.com/watch/...) and Orla Gartland (https://youtube.com/watch/...) enters the bathroom. The movie suddenly becomes a musical.
As she approaches my stall, she sings:
🎵 Deep down inside, we’re still transphobic 🎵
🎵 Deep down inside, I’m still transphobic 🎵
🎵 But it’s my way to tell the world 🎵
🎵 To shut 🎵
🎵 The fuck 🎵
🎵 UUUUUp 🎵
She proceeds to demolish and twist the stalls.
Suddenly, we see her flashback (well, technically a flash-forward), and there she gives a Ted talk. But it’s a Klan rally, and it’s Ted x KKK. She says the punchline:
“Well, isn’t it _nuts_ 😏
that I twisted steel beams into a thousand _knots_ 😏👉”
The audience erupts into laughter.
We’re back. I run away from her. Cops arrive, and I’m connected directly to Barely Sociable’s video from the future (relative to my present) about Ruth Price (https://youtube.com/watch/...), the phone call segment. The original audio is replaced by Tessa/Orla’s voice. She calls cops and says “We’re placed into custody for bullying a trans faggot kid!”
The cop replies, mocking her: “That’s baaaad 🤣, that’s probably baaaaaad 🤣”
Off-screen laughter.
Roll credits.
Jack-Jack Parr is trans, confirmed.7 -
Got bored and decided to try and compile X11 Quake (WinQuake) so far trying to troubleshoot some undefined references

Finally, a well deserved upgrade from my reliable core i7 5500U laptop. This puppy packs a punch and has style. Wanted a MacBook Pro(newest models are so beautiful) but just seeing the price tag hurt my wallet; anyway I'm happy with this one, my only concern is getting used to the weird power button location9

I know Windows XP is ancient, but how do people legitimately get anything developed under Windows. It's legitimately frustrating. If it weren't for my sdcard wiping itself when I shutdown I'd probably be using Debian.5

Compiled Otter finally in a PowerPC Virtual Machine but it throws a segfault when it trys to load any javascript on https sites1

So I decided to take a look at the list of directx 2-7 games on the pcgaming wiki, and noticed the a lot of these Unity games appeantly support directx 7. I'm a little curious why someone would want to do this why not just support directx 9 instead?2

Best way to learn C? Might be my ADHD brain, but I'd love to try learning C again. I know K&R is still pretty good, but what are some other books,or good ways to learn C? I'll be using a standard Linux system with gcc so nothing really special. Also Correct me if I'm wrong, but GCC supports later C standards C99,etc except for floating points right?3

Not sure if it counts but spent the day setting up a pxe boot server for a laptop I have since usb 2 is fucking slow than setting up this file server implementation thing for Git Pages so I could just downloaded an updated mirrorlist without need to add it manually. Just to find out I need to figure out why I have no internet argh!

>tfw when the code examples can't be downloaded anymore and no one made a full archive of the downloads

Ok so slowly learning C also figuring out how to get a few Legacy Opengl code examples to compile. (yeah yeah it's old yada yada) maybe I should try finding unconventional ways to help aid with my learning.

I have both tried this with Grub 2.04 and 2.02 Why apparently this has been a bug as far back as https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/... This is either a fault in how I've set up my lfs system thus far or it must be some sort of oversight ugh!!!! -
How do I use Tables? I'm trying to do some retro we design for my personal site, but I can never seen to get how to use tables.4

While I should really actually learn C++ first among other things. I wanted to try and fuck with a really old version of DirectX (8.1) since I had a Win2k machine. I know it's old af,but Jesus how did/does anyone put up with how proprietary Microsoft's shit is.1
