Want to finish my little friend for a long time now. He can dance Michael Jackson's moonwalk for now.
Idea was to use the sonar sensor to switch dancing styles but he is still blind :(

I was about to use the Duolingo but I think it triggered me to hard. 2 mistakes in a row.
1. I have Portuguese origins and they used the Brazilian flag
2. I was born in Luxemburg and they just used our flag for The Netherlands (I know they're pretty similar but cmooooon)

I fucking hate when I update my apps and they don't describe what they changed. Like the latest spotify update description:
We’re always making changes and improvements to Spotify. To make sure you don’t miss a thing, just keep your Updates turned on.2 -
I recently started working with CI/CD in gitlab. I don't know why I had such a hard time getting it to work. I left it hanging for another day. Yesterday, before I went to sleep, I merged to master branch. On waking up I can't explain my happiness when I saw my pipeline... 😀

I have come to realize, after a long time in programming and using libraries, that spending time to read their documentation saves me time in the long run2 -
I took wk119 to clean my desk and make my wife happy (for a short period of time).
WFH Setup has been rearranged shortly and is not finished. Most of the soldering/Arduino/Pi/drone stuff has been removed and will get a seperate workbench soon.
Lightning is not finished as i plan to reinstall the smart lightstripes again.
But hey , cleaning the desk is enough for this week :-)

A dollar or a peso is a certain amount of work stored in a piece of paper. You need to work to get them or have other people work for you. When governments print new money and push it into circulation they reduce what you were compensated with for the work you did. Essentially they are taking your wealth (spending power) away without you even realizing. It is a modestly sophisticated form of theft. When public companies issue new shares onto the market they are doing same thing by reducing the percentage of the company you own. This is why you will see non-inflationary assets such as Bitcoin, land, gold bars and gold ETFs, etc. continue to rise in value and certainly outpace inflation. It’s because people who are smart with money are fearful of holding cash and they are looking for a safe place to store it. If you are not afraid of holding substantial amounts of cash, then I suppose you don’t really understand what it is. There is a reason why they don’t teach teenagers about inflation in any country of the world. As long as the masses are focused on earning and saving fiat, governments have so much more power and control. If you remove all of the fiat from circulation, then we will revert to a barter/trading system which would substantially reduce government power, at that point they would only maintain control using physical force, which is a lot more challenging to carry out. #btc #gold #rant #av41

Seems my robot project is postponed for some days :) Let's have a look at some new interesting firmware first... . And some minor testing of course.

I have this login page on my app. A user (a number of them actually) told me that they can't log in because the app tells them to "login in later". 😨
Is my button for deciding to login later so poorly designed that it looks like a message?
And the only way you can log in later is by pressing the frikin button, how does a person, with a smart phone tell me for the second time that its telling them to log in later

By accidentally telling his computer to delete everything in his servers, hosting provider Marco Marsala has, according to tech "experts", removed all trace of his company and the websites that he looks after for his customers.

Best advice a dev gave me? So much/many over the years.
I shared this one just last week to another dev..
"If you are writing a lot of code to do something, you are probably doing it wrong."
- Marco Cantu - Borland Dev Conference -
Started my first Android app for a town here in Luxembourg, It's a school project but the best one will be sold and the good part is that we can pick the price. But I'm pretty confident to win.
For the future? Google Firebase for sure2 -
Happened in December, had devs from "big" companies coming over to our start up and doing a sprint with us. Very humbling 🙂2
-
Man accidentally 'deletes his entire company' with one line of bad code rm -rf in his bash script 😂😂1
-
This moment when you try to find the fault in your code for hours which causes an random error and then you restart your dev environment and the error is away.3

Been working for a guy who seems not to care about his employees... Haven't been paid for the last 3 months of 2016.
Now my internet bill comes tomorrow I have nothing. What a way to begin 201717 -
back in 2011, when a friend of mine was learning C and he told me he can control a micro controller remotely, and he actually showed me a video of that happening, that's when I decided to be a developer

Last weak I tried to use Linux Arch on my VM. The only Linux distribution I'm used to is Ubuntu and the fist time I launched Arch I completely forgot that it was " do it yourself ". And that the ISO isn't actually a fancy installer like the Ubuntu one.
So I started following a guide and found out that the arch wiki is actually the way to go.
I searched for 1 hour how to change the keyboard to swiss-french which was actually pretty simple.
After that exhausting research that made me realise how ignorant I am with UNIX universe, I finally tried to install the thing.
When I was done installing, it didn't want to boot after I restarted. I got stuck at the 'Booting...' screen. After a few tries I lost all my energy and motivation.
Tl;dr: Tried Arch Linux, realised I had no idea, gave up after a few tries3 -

Org-mode vs. taskwarrior vs. Vim-Org-mode?
Anyone experienced with Cli Todo/Project management?
I am looking for something Cli based with the ability to sync across machines/mobile phones and found these left on the list after some research.
Can anyone share experience with one or some of these tools?
How would your work flow look like?
Are there alternatives I may have missed? -
Horror story and rant time I guess...
I haven't seen the main developer of this MVC project that I've been working on but I can totally assure that his seniority isn't in frontend development 😠 and I doubt the backend too... Fucking DataTables converted to IDictionaries<string, object>
Guess who need to build on top of the pile of shit!
Anyway, I wasn't really careful about what kind of template I was given to work on a new SPA page, so I'm doing the job given the time, but it's fucking gory:
- matrioska style layers (n.3) without documentation
- partials everywhere
- too much inline styling
- too many <style> sections (n per layer or partial)
- too many <script> sections (n per layer or partial)
- poor CSS styling or no styling at all! (classes without any style nor js association)😠
He's just been lucky that the browser is capable of handling his shit
Now that at the end of this year I'll leave this project (solo fullstack) and need to provide documentation for the next poor souls I was thinking to leave behind something at par of my skills and capabilities but analysing the current mess ticks my brain in a bad way, fuck you Marco!
Fuck you
and your seniority
and the Italian way of perceiving seniority that gives you a higher living in the wrong side of the field 🤬🤬🤬2 -
In the beginning there was Vanilla that generate HTML which felt in love with CSS .....it passes a long time thus this pure essences creates a lot of frameworks and libraries thus the time has passed and Angular make love with React saying each other "I LoVue" and thus generate Vue.... a Vue-tiful creature 😄1

I started with Java in March 2013, then C, C++,C#, which were done just for the sake of knowing them. 3 years later I do make apps for android. :-)

Anyone got any show recommendations? a year for Game of Thrones is killer. I really enjoyed Mr Robot, it was dark, moody and pushed the lines. Vikings is great, I find historical shows really interested when executed right. Just started watching Marco Polo.14

Org-mode as it has the potential to change your life :-)
Astonishing in how many different areas it beats the tools I used before.
From todo lists, documentation, publications or even presentations it ruled out my old workflows and the journey is not over . -
Does anyone know where can I enable the visual studio 2019 codelens on Mac M1? #codelens #vs2019 #macbookm14

Sorry for my question. But how to inform a client that they want to see the websites I've designed? That the truth is that I haven't done anything because my job is purely backend?3

The clinking of kibble bowls and staccato slap of paws against linoleum usually serve as background to my days. That day, however, our animal rescue's crypto wallet, our financial lifeline that covered all sorts of spay surgeries and emergency parvo treatments, was more bare than a dog park during a thunderstorm. A phishing attempt, disguised as a donation receipt for a "kind benefactor" (spoiler: their kind was stealing $215,000), had cleaned us out. Trigger panic: volunteers huddled around one computer, adoptive kittens blissfully batting at keyboard cables, and me Google-searching can you repo a cat? Enter Sarah, our expert volunteer who codes firewalls by day and plays with stray kittens by night. She slid a sticky note across the desk: ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST. They're like the animal control of crypto scams. Desperation eclipsed skepticism. I emailed them, half-expecting to receive a bot response. Instead, a guy named Marco replied in minutes: Send us the transaction hash. We'll hunt. As it was, phishing our crypto was simpler than stealing steak from a pack of wolves. ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST crew dissected the attack with the precision of a vet neutering a tomcat. The robbers had channeled donations through privacy coins and decentralized exchanges, a digital shell game designed to lose us in the noise. But ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST engineers? They followed it down like bloodhounds to a money laundering fund masquerading as a "charity DAO (their paperwork riddled with typos like "helping puppys since 2023 beginners).
Ten days later, Marco called: Check your wallet. I refreshed, expecting another error message. Instead, our balance flashed green, back to the cent. The shelter erupted, a din of barks, meows, and one intern crying into a Chihuahua's sweater. The scammers' wallets? Frozen faster than a stray in a blizzard.
ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST didn't save dollars; they saved futures. That $215,000 bought a terrier's spinal fusion, shots for 47 shelter animals, and a whole year's supply of that excellent kibble our old dogs negotiate not loving. Our online wallet now has more security than a porcupine has quills, and Sarah's now officially Director of Not Getting Hacked Again. If your nonprofit's funds ever disappear into the ether of cyberspace, don't bawl into the garbage can. Call the ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST . They'll treat your case like a patient in critical care, no matter how many paws are on the keyboard. Just maybe hide your keyboard from the kittens first.1
