Q: Your data migration service from old site to new site cost money.
A: Yes, I have to copy data from old database and import to the new one.
Q: Can I just provide you content separately so you don’t need to do that?
A: Yes, but I will have to charge you for copying and pasting your 100 pages of content manually.
Q: Can it come with part of the web development service and not as an additional service?
A: Yes, but the price for web development service will have to be increased to combine the two. If you don’t want to pay for it, I can just set up a few sample pages with the layout and you can handle your own content entry. Does that work for you?
Q: Well, but then I will have to spend extra time to work on it.
A: Yes you will. (At this point I think she starts to understand the concept of Time = Money...)3
Fucking iphone. Fucking asshole moneygrabbing apple whores.
And when i say whores I mean the lowliest fucking infectious parasite whores. Because make no mistake, prostitutes are respectable professionals - you do your thing, pay and leave happy. But a whore takes your money, wastes your time, fucks you up in the head and leaves you high and dry. Just like fucking apple does.
12gigs used up by safari for “other files” that you can’t delete. 15gigs and two shits the os. 5 gigs mail.
Why the fuck you advertise 64 gigs when over half of it are unusable?
Why should I have to waste my time to reset to factory every month and redo everything on a motherfucking $1500 “smart”phone?
How many tens of thousand dollars should i fucking spend on a phone that WORKS ALL THE WAY?16
Companies can't use free software?
Well, I just forced everyone to use Nextcloud instead of Dropbox and Google Drive. People did not like it as first but the quickly realized how good it was.
We also moved from skype, teams and slack to matrix.
I am glad that matrix-synapse is so easy to install nowadays!19
Recently in Instagram followed a tag #coding and #programming.
I get shitty post unrelated to #coding and #programming are you getting that stuff as well?
And why am I getting provocative pictures of lady coders?15
Soooooo got fired on my day off!! 😁😁😁 Y am I sooo happy??? Bc the company's president sucks, and glad to be gone!!
So, I come in on my day off trying to help him with a promo for an app I was working on, and ass face come in with a chip already on his shoulders.
Him: So what are u going to show me?
Me: A walk through of the app.
Him: No, what specifically are u going to show me?(already getting upset)
Me: The whole app. Like from the login screen and everything else.
Him: No! I need to knw specifically what your going to show me! Like this button, that menu, this function!!!(boiling point)
Me: That's what I said, "the whole app"
Him: Do u want to be suspended a whole week??!!!
Me: (smiling) Yes!!

Me: Happy 😁😁😁15
Hey Devs, question.
When job hunting, what would be your preferred option(s).
1. Contacted directly by the hiring company's HR
2. Applying via recruiting agents
3. Applying directly on companies job site
I do not recommend catching the virus. Especially if you're like me and have a broken immune system.
Holy shit, I'm alive. Somehow.10
TFW your client's git policies are so draconian that the dev teams use "develop" as trunk, and completely ignore the release process.
I wrote up 50 pages of git standards, documentation and procedure for a client. Bad indian director 9000 decides the admin (also Indian) who specializes in Clearcase and has no git or development experience is more qualified to decide and let's him set the policy.
FF to today:
- documentation, mostly contradictory, is copy pasted from the atlassian wiki
- source tree is the standard
- no force pushing of any branches, including work branches
- no ff-merge
- no rebasing allowed
- no ssh, because he couldn't figure it out...errr it's "insecure"
- all repos have random abbreviated names that are unintelligible
- gitflow, but with pull requests and no trust
- only project managers can delete a branch
- long lived feature branches
- only projects managers can conduct code reviews
- hotfixes must be based off develop
- hotfixes must go in the normal release cycle
- releases involve creating a ticket to have an admin create a release branch from your branch, creating a second ticket to stage the PR, a third ticket to review the PR (because only admins can approve release PRs), and a fourth ticket to merge it in
- rollbacks require director signoff
- at the end of each project the repo must be handed to the admin on a burned CD for "archiving"
And so no one actually uses the official release process, and just does releases out of dev. If you're wondering if IBM sucks, the answer is more than you can possibly imagine.11
《WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE A DEVELOPER IN ZIMBABWE》
Working on my project and suddenly power cuts off
Laptop doesn't have a battery
So it instantly shuts down
Ohh snap !!!
Luckily I've set my Vs Code to auto save every 3seconds
The moment you realize you didn't realize how crazy your place is and you just finished twisting the plant vines around a networking / power installation that you affectionately refer to as "Skybridge-2".7
worst part of WFH:
- The work PC is the game PC
- The game PC is the work PC
- Feels like i'm playing while working
- Feels like i'm working while playing9
At work today I met an api that redefines http status codes to mean something else. Naturally this makes integrating between systems a whole thing when system a keeps spitting out 207 and system b will not accept anything other than 200. Thanks for nothing. WHY WOULD ANYONE EVER WANT TO DO THAT THO? there's just no good reason to.
Anyway hens how r yous?, hope you're all doing well and that your coffee is as strong and black as the void <39
Hahahahaha... my father threatened twice to beat me to death on Monday, then wondered today why his daughter (who thankfully lives with my mom) won't come to see him anymore after watching him break shit because I asked a simple fucking question.
As long as there is breath in my body I will hate and resent this man, and I hope that for all of humanity's sake neither I or my sister have kids. My family name breeds such shitty people.12
I received my evaluation and instead of getting fired, they gave me some really good feedback. I'm surprised.
After weeks of bitching, the other team finally removed their JIRA issues from me. Now I have more time to focus on my original team and we're gonna start on building stuff from scratch for the new version of our product so it will be goodbye spaghetti soon.
Since I'm a regular employee now, I've unlocked some special benefits. They have quite a lot but two of my favorites are - 30 days paid vacation and I can arrange for more if I allocate my benefits right and $6k reimbursible travel expenses. Those two suit my current goals pretty well.
As always, since the dawn of time, they gave me high ratings on technical skills and just a "good" on functional, it's always been a weakness of mine. The client said I finish things on time, often days earlier than the deadline. I guess I'll slow down a little bit and try to learn more on the functional side? But it's gonna be a fun ride since they have no documentation.
I just feel motivated now. 😊7
So we use SAP for this little thing.
Booking your work times in a self service. And guess what?!
That shitty piece of software cant handle such an easy task. I mean seriously what the heck?!
They load everything from the slowest server the world has ever seen.
It litterally takes 2 seconds to click a button and something happens.
I need at least 1 minute for one entry! ONE!!!!!
Not to forget to mention it is down like all the time. Hey there are more than 4 users?!
Lets burn the instance down to the ground. Yeah thanks SAP cloud. Great job!8
Manager: "Good Morning"
Manager: "You are fired. I deserve a proper reply"
Employee: "I have put my entire focus on solving the problem the team members have been skipping for months. Anyways I will go"
Manager: "My bad, I will fire the other employee"8
Today we were all called into a meeting and the CEO was livid. He went on a rage about how the CTO was wasting money on useless shit (GitHub Enterprise). He said I bought laptops for a reason if there’s a fire someone better protect our assets and code. He wouldn’t reason with us and went into github and deleted everything. The CTO was fired and no one is leading our team. Wondering if I should quit 😶33
