Smart India Hackathon: Horrible experience
Background:- Our task was to do load forecasting for a given area. Hourly energy consumption data for past 5 years was given to us.
One government official asks the following questions:-
1. Why are you using deep learning for the project? Why are you not doing data analysis?
2. Which neural network "algorithm" you are using? He wanted to ask which model we are using, but he didn't have a single clue about Neural Networks.
3. Why are you using libraries? Why not your own code?
Here comes the biggest one,
4. Why haven't you developed your own "algorithm" (again, he meant model)? All you have done is used sone library. Where is "novelty" in your project?
I just want to say that if you don't know anything about ML/AI, then don't comment anything about it. And worst thing was, he was not ready to accept the fact that for capturing temporal dependencies where underlying probability distribution ia unknown, deep learning performs much better than traditional data analysis techniques.
After hearing his first question, second one was not a surprise for us. We were expecting something like that. For a few moments, we were speechless. Then one of us started by showing neural network architecture. But after some time, he rudely repeated the same question, "where is the algorithm". We told him every fucking thing used in the project, ranging from RMSprop optimizer to Backpropagation through time algorithm to mean squared loss error function.
Then very calmly, he asked third question, why are you using libraries? That moron wanted us to write a whole fucking optimized library. We were speechless at this question. Finally, one of us told him the "obvious" answer. We were completely demotivated. But it didnt end here. The real question was waiting. At the end, after listening to all of us, he dropped the final bomb, WHY HAVE YOU USED A NEURAL NETWORK "ALGORITHM" WHICH HAS ALREADY BEEN IMPLEMENTED? WHY DIDN'T YOU MAKE YOU OWN "ALGORITHM"? We again stated the obvious answer that it takes atleast an year or two of continuous hardwork to develop a state of art algorithm, that too when gou build it on top of some existing "algorithm". After listening to this, he left. His final response was "Try to make a new "algorithm"".
Needless to say, we were completely demotivated after this evaluation. We all had worked too hard for this. And we had ability to explain each and every part of the project intuitively and mathematically, but he was not even ready to listen.
Now, all of us are sitting aimlessly, waiting for Hackathon to end.😢😢😢😢😢25 -
PEOPLE. DO NOT LIE ON YOUR RESUME. IT. IS. NOT. WORTH. IT. Ok, backstory.
We had a guy apply for this position at work. It really needed to be filled but also required someone with just the right certifications, so hiring the first schmuck to come along Was not an option.
We search high and low and as time passes without an acceptable applicant we become more desperate and open to negotiation. Basically, you name your price, we’ll agree to it at this point.
So finally a guy comes in, got everything we need but one minor certification. No problem. He can get that on the job, he doesn’t need it to start. He’s hired.
So he quotes us a salary 10% above our top range of what we’d usually pay a guy for this position, we don’t care. He gets it. Plus a housing allowance.
So we’re getting him registered with a place to handle his certification process and they call his four year institution to verify his transcript. We work with hazardous materials and a four year degree in a relevant field is required. It’s standard for the certification training institution to check. Especially when it’s a prestigious big name place like this guy had. And here I used to think that was paranoid of them.
They call and tell us the school says they have no record of him. We do some digging. He was never registered there. I’m like “that’s not possible, his professor is a listed reference. We call that reference.
He worked on a project with this man, he never taught him. Is very fascinated to learn this man has been presenting himself as though he attended the university. Asks to be delisted as a reference.
So long story short it comes out this guy did have a degree in this field, just from a less prestigious university.
The insane thing is, he would’ve still gotten the same job and salary package if he’d been honest about his university!
It is a loss for all involved. He doesn’t have a job. We don’t have anyone working in this position. It’s really unfortunate. Don’t lie on your resume people. Your employer will find out and the risks are not worth the benefits.12 -
I was hired as Project Manager.
After few days, I discovered that:
- I didn't have a team
- I was also the main and only developer
- all the projects I was assigned to were late
- I was also the account manager and I had to explain the delay to the customers.
And no, the salary didn't make up for the daily loss of reputation.
I lasted more than I thought, when I discovered that customers were not interested in delivery either, as it was a kind of money laundering scheme9 -
So, basically i am getting desperate, and i'm also angry... and want to cry, and i feel a failure.
My biggest error in this story is "believing"
First of all, I'm a starting entrepreneur as freelancer, started of 6 months ago, back then it all seemed bright, i had my first customer, they believed me, got a second assignment for that same customer, fulfilled the task in brilliance, and was ready to move on to a bigger customer base. Here's where shit goes wrong.
Working with another office that outsources people to various (goverment) contractors, Had a meeting with them, we would cooperate very soon. This was january.
PM: "We've got a gov Dept as a customer that wants to do project XYZ and starting in february, requirements are yadiyadiyadi, you up for it?
Me:"Sure, send me the specs, and timeframe and i'll apply with my offer)"
Project is about a bit backup system migration, lots of fancy shmancy tech used, 2 datacenters setup... a big project that can take up several months...
- sends offer- received an acceptance on the offer
PM " Great, we'll start end of february"
Me: "Ok, end of february is a go then, looking forward to cooperate"
FF to near end of february, receive msg from PM: "Project XYZ delayed until half if march"
Me: "Okay... what is the delay?"
PM:"Govt bureaucracy"
Me " Ok, let's keep in touch"
Near Half of March
PM " Project delayed again".
Me: " Okay... what's the reason?"
PM: "they have decided to take a different approach, and want 3 datacenters now"
Me: "That will change the offer i made for you, can you send me the specs?"
PM: "No, because they havent decided on the techs used, expect end of march"
Me: "Okay...but once you got the specs,s end them to me"
End of March
Pm: " Hy NeatNerdPrime, we still havent got any specs yet... they still forgot to make the shopping list"
Me: "(-_-) ... I thought they already had that covered"
PM:" No, new Govt budget cuts and lots of changes, basically, they still don't know what they really want. But we're just -delayed- , not -cancelled-"
Me: "Okay... i hope we get started soon"
PM: "expect launch beginning of april"
I was not really satisfied with this explanation.... but ok
Beginning of april, at april's folls day
PM "Project delayed again"
Me: " This is a joke right?"
PM: "Sadly, no, they delayed the project since they don't really know what they actually want, we are trying to give them the proposed solution... but they still need approval, and still need to set up shopping list"
Me:"when do we start then?"
PM: " I was told 17th of april'
Me:" I really hope it gets through, i had to decline some proposals for work for months due to this, this ain't funny"
PM: "I know, i'll make up for it"
15th of april...
PM " Project delayed again"
Me right now almost losing my shit
"why this time??? I thought you said 17th of april real launch!"
PM: "they fired their PM, need to hire a new one, delayed until May/June"
Me: "I've set aside some other assignments just because you said you were going to launch at those dates... This is really pushing my limits, can you give me SOME assurances?"
PM: "5th of june would be official go" Me: " Okay, i'm noting 5th of june in my agenda, let's get this through!"
And now i get a message...stating that the date of 5th of june , is for another project, at the same goct dept, but totally different project
WHAT THE FUCKING SHIT I'VE SPENT MONTHS WAITING FOR A PROJECT THAT WAS PRACTICALLY ALL SET AND GO AND EVERY SINGLE FUCKING TIME IT GETS DELAYED, EVERY FUCKING TIME I THINK "you know, i cannot accept these offers since that Govt project will start soon, i cannot do 2 assignments at once especially when they require me to work at govt office at the capital..." AND EVERY FUCKING TIME IT GETS DELAYED!!!
I feel at a loss now..... i've done i think the most horrible thing you can do as a independent and that's not accepting another assignment just because there was a concrete promise for a govt contract...
Almost dried up, nothing much left, had to do some spending because of a move to another apartment... I'm feeling really down, and angry...and down, but mostly angry, for not accepting those offers in the meantime...undefined govt contracts why i'm so gullible promise promises written in butter wtf start dates fucking delays never refuse another assignment again13 -
Fucking moronic clients like these make me want to drop the project, needless to say I dropped the project immediately. I know it's highly unethical but fuck it.
On top of that I was doing charity work by charging 1/8th of my usual rate and this fucking idiots thinks that he is teaching/spoonfeeding me for his project, moron, I made micro library for that much amount of money.
Loss is loss and integrity is integrity..

I had a manager who was a complete incompetent idiot (other than a fucking backstabber). He left the company ~3 weeks ago, yet I believe it would take 5 years to get rid of his legacy.
Today I discovered that one of his "genius ideas" led to the loss of months of data. This is already bad, but it's even more upsetting given that the records that have been lost are exactly the ones I needed to prove the validity of my project.
That fucking man keeps fucking with me even when he's not here, YOU DAMN ASSHOLE!!6 -
'hey honey look what i made! It works!'
- fiance looks, error messages over error messages, program crashes, files disappear, data loss, pure horror
To this day I don't know what happened. I had to restore my project and re-write the last half hour.4 -
A new junior developer diet: treat y'o self with a candy of choice every time you finish a project that you've been working at during your "free" time. Guaranteed fat loss. Coz' you won't be eating any. And you're lazy.4
-
I was having dinner with two girls, one a project manager and the other some finance reviewer or something like that. We were discussing our line of work and I was talking about how bad quality code affects everybody and the finance reviewer girl goes like (and I quote) "In our company we use polymorphism, inheritance and encapsulation so it's not a big problem. So our database has a parent class and we only use the parent class". I was at a loss for words. I mean, if only more programmers just did that, right?14

So this post is going to target an irritating aspect of a specific culture based on observational evidence over the last 20 years, and has reared its hideous face yet again. If you're triggered by that, stop reading here.
I'm flatly fed up with two-faced onshore Desi coworkers. They make up 95% of my colleagues and the following sequence of events has played out repeatedly over the course of my career, consistently, though it's slightly more pronounced in other women for whatever reason :
1. Work with them for years, good relationship, teach them all sorts of skills (which I will do freely for anyone, for any reasons as I view it to be a moral imperative), general lifting up and solid teamwork.
2. They move up in the hierarchy, generally to management, usually project
3. The second they view themselves as higher in the pecking order they start treating me like shit as if we have no history. Rude, commanding, unwilling to share details, obligatory exasperated thank yous if any at all, not interested in anything I have to say even if I'm the noted expert on the subject.
I understand a lot of their etiquette culture, specifically the level of "directness" or politeness they employ is based on the estimated risk of loss in the interaction. I find that disgusting, but I understand that academically. I just can't get my mind around how universal this shiftiness is, as it happens over and over again. It's like human decency and respect go out the window the second they don't feel like they have anything to gain from you. In *my* culture that is the lowest form of behavior a human can exhibit, and it causes me to rage because I can't imagine being so utterly devoid of altruism.
Fuck. It's just so sickening. It's fucking debased, and selfish and greedy and fuck. I can't even, this is one of those things that so irrational my mind can't accept it and I just go around and around on it.
Tl;dr you want to get throat punched? Because that's how you get throat punched. It's definitely getting this person doxxed to USCIS11 -
Once upon a time, one or two jobs ago, a really awesome engineer specced out a distributed search application in response to a business need. This company was managed pretty oldschool and required a ton of paperwork and approvals.
The engineer spent many weeks running tests and optimizing the hell out of this app cluster. It flew, and he had the data to prove it could handle production workloads (think hundreds of terabytes of data being processed every single day)
Part of the way he achieved this was having RAID0 on all of the servers to maximize I/O throughput. He didn't care much about data loss, since the application itself was fault tolerant on a much more granular level.
Management, hearing about this, absolutely flipped their shit and demanded RAID6 instead. This despite the conclusive data that the engineer had that proved RAID6 couldn't keep up.
He more or less got told to STFU.
Even this despite the fact that a RAID restripe would actually take many times longer than rebuilding the failed node from scratch (a process that took about 30 minutes by hand, and could probably be automated to be done in less than five), causing a longer exposure to actual data loss throughout the length of the days-long array rebuild time.
The ill-thought-out requirement added about 50% to the cost of the project (*many* more hard drives now required), beyond the original budget, and the subsequent bureaucratic wrangling resulted in a late product launch.
6 months or so later, after real customers were using this product, the app was buckling under around half of its expected workload. A friend of the engineer suggested to management to try RAID0. Sure enough, that resolved the I/O bottleneck.
This rage-inducing story has a happy ending, though! Said engineer left the company not long after this incident, citing it as a reason for his departure. He was immediately hired by another company, making integer multiples of his prior salary.
The product the company botched the launch of by ignoring his spec? It died a few months later. Maybe the poor customer experience was to blame? Maybe the late launch? Maybe it was another reason entirely.
Either way, millions of dollars of hardware now sat fallow. This was a black eye on the company all the way up to the C-level.
tl;dr: Listen to your engineers. You hired them for their expertise.4 -
I had spent the last year working on a online store power by woocommerce with over 100k products from various suppliers. This online store utilized a custom API that would take the various formats that suppliers offer their inventory in and made them consistent. Now everything was going swimmingly initially, but then I began adding more and more products using a plug-in called WP all import. I reached around 100k products and the site would take up to an entire minute to load sometimes timing out. I got desperate so I installed several caching plugins, but to no avail this did not help me. The site was originally only supposed to take three to four months but ended up taking an entire year. Then, just yesterday I found out what went wrong and why this woocommerce website with all of these optimizations was still taking anywhere from 60 to 90 seconds to load, or just timing out entirely. I had initially thought that I needed a beefier server so I moved it to a high CPU digitalocean VM. While this did help a little bit, the site was still very slow and now I had very high CPU usage RAM usage and high disk IO. I was seriously stumped the Apache process was using a high amount of CPU and IO along with MYSQL as well. It wasn't until I started digging deeper into the database that I actually found out what the issue was. As I was loading the site I would run 'show process list' in the SQL terminal, I began to notice a very significant load time for one of the tables, so I went to go and check it out. What I did was I ran a select all query on that particular table just to see how full it was and SQL returned a error saying that I had exceeded the maximum packet size. So I was like okay what the fuck...
So I exited my SQL and re-entered it this time with a higher packet size. I ran a query that would count how many rows were in this particular table and the number came out to being in the millions. I was surprised, and what's worse is that this table belong to a plugin that I had attempted to use early in the development process to cache the site. The plugin was deactivated but apparently it had left PHP files within the wp content directory outside of the actual plugin directory, so it's still executing scripts even though the plugin itself was disabled. Basically every time I would change anything on the site, it would recache the whole thing, and it didn't delete any old records. So 100k+ products caching on saves with no garbage collection... You do the math, it's gonna be a heavy ass database. Not only that but it was serialized data, so when it did pull this metric shit ton of spaghetti from the database, PHP then had to deserialize it. Hence the high ass CPU load. I had caching enabled on the MySQL end of things so that ate the ram. I was really desperate to get this thing running.
Honest to God the main reason why this website took so long was because the load times made it miserable to work on. I just thought that the hardware that I had the site on was inadequate. I had initially started the development on a small Linux VM which apparently wasn't enough, which is why I moved it to digitalocean which also seemed to not be enough, so from there I moved to a dedicated server which still didn't seem to be enough. I was probably a few more 60-second wait times or timeouts from recommending a server cluster to my client who I know would not be willing to purchase it. The client who I promised this site to have completed in 3 months and has waited a year. Seriously, I would tell people the struggles that I would go through with this particular site and they would just tell me to just drop the site; just take the money, just take the loss. I refused to, this was really the only thing that was kicking my ass. I present myself as this high-and-mighty developer like I'm just really good at what I do but then I have this WordPress site that's just beating the shit out of me for a year. It was a very big learning experience and it was also very humbling as well, it made me realize that I really don't know as much as I think I might. It was evidence that there is still so much more to learn out there, I did learn a lot from that experience especially about optimizing websites the different types of methods to do that particular lonely on the server side and I'll be able to utilize this knowledge in the future.
I guess the moral of the story is, never really give up. Ultimately things might get so bad that you're running on hopes and dreams. Those experiences are generally the most humbling. Now I can finally present the site that I am basically a year late on to the client who will be so happy that I did not give up on the project entirely. I'll have experienced this feeling of pure euphoria, and help the small business significantly grow their revenue. Helping others is very fulfilling for me, even at my own expense.
Anyways, gonna stop ranting. Running out of characters. If you're still here... Ty for reading :')7 -
I've been a bit "removed" from .NET lately and I've been slowly forgetting about it. It's like I grieved a loss, and now I was moving on, for lack of a better analogy. I was just beginning to get used to my new environment of Node JS and PHP. And, recently, I was put on track to complete a full project using Node JS.
And then suddenly a new company reached out to me, interested in my skills, and asked for me to build a simple .NET web app to showcase my abilities.
I got started, and holy crap I forgot how nice it was to be coding in this environment. Everything I had forgotten about switched on for me, like riding a bike. I was done with the app in a matter of hours. It was probably the most productive I've been with a coding assignment in forever. I was beaming with pride at the fact that I could code so fluently despite some time away. Everything here just made sense to me.
After I submitted it to the company for review I sat back and thought, damn, do I have to go back to Node/Express JS? I barely have any experience with it 😂. The only reason I know anything is because I watched a 20 minute quick tutorial on how to build an API. That's it.
I really want my current company to give me projects that are in my preferred language and they aren't and that's killing me right now. I can learn, that's not a problem, but my effectiveness as an employee is completely shot by not allowing me to build in code that I know and understand. I was fuckin hired for my specific coding experience, why not take advantage of what I know?
I should say something to my manager but I know they will just tell me no because they want it to be built in Javascript as it's the preferred language of the Gods.
Joking aside, I don't think they will go for it because it is another language that they would have to manage and maintain if I ever leave.
Oh well 🤷8 -
Does anyone know of any apps/companies that are using .Net core in production?
I’ve started a project at work which consists of a webapi written in dotnet core, a react spa for the front end and xunit for testing.
I’m just curious as there are loss of sites about things written in Rails, or django, but almost nothing about dotnet core.8 -
I was Just college fresher who completed his Engineering. My first week in the office. And a system was provided to me, since it was support project so I was given direct access to production database.
Fresher + Production Database + Access of Admin credentials = Worst Possible Combination
So it was my night shift, I was told to update new tariff plan for our client (which was one of the largest telecom service in India) .
If someone recharges for more than 200 Rupee, that person will get 10% or 20% extra talk time. Which was only applicable for particular circle (Like Bihar and Rajasthan).
Since I was fresher, I was told to update given query from my senior employee which he shared on the shared folder. Production downtime was in the mid night, so at that time I updated that query on the production database.
Query successfully updated. I completed my night shift, went home and slept.
When I woke up, I saw my mobile it had 200+ missed calls from different locations of India. They were Circle heads of that telecom service provider who contacted me. I realized something unexpected is expecting me.
Then at that moment my team lead called me and he asked me to come office right away.
Reminding you I was a fresher, I was shivering. What have I done there?
When I reached office, I came to know that the query I updated on production bombarded.
Every person who recharged that day (duration from midnight to morning 10 AM) got 10 times or 20 times more talktime.
A part of Query was something like this where error was made:
TalkTime = RechargeAmount + RechargeAmount * 10/100; (Bihar)
or
TalkTime = RechargeAmount + RechargeAmount * 20/100; (Rajasthan)
But instead of this query, I updated below one:
TalkTime = RechargeAmount + RechargeAmount * 10;
or
TalkTime = RechargeAmount + RechargeAmount * 20;
In a span of 10 hours, that telecom service lost revenue of 6.5 crore Rupees. Thanks to recovery team they were able to recover 6 crore but still 50 lakh Rupees were in loss.
One small query, and approx 1 million dollar was on stake.
Aftermath of this incident
My Mistake:
I should have taken those queries on mail. Or, there should have been mail communication regarding this.
Never ever do anything over oral communication. Senior employee who did this denied and said he provided correct query, and I had no proof of communication.
I told them, it was me who executed that query on production. Since I was fresher, and took my responsibility of that incident. My team lead rescued me from that situation.
Lesson Learned:
Always test your query and code multiple times before you execute or Go live it on production.
Always have email communication for every action you take on production.
Power comes with responsibility. If you have admin credentials of production never use it for update/delete/drop until you are sure.
Don’t take your job lightly.
I was not fired from that Job, but I have learnt my lesson very well. -
Antergos is going out of the play. And i saw a very click baity article which poised the following statement at the end:
"Is the death of Antergos a major loss? No, not on its own. Despite the developers bragging about over 900,000 downloads (over the last five years) it’s hardly a popular operating system. Still, its demise is a part of an emerging trend where developers don’t have the resources to continue a project. And both the Linux and Open Source communities should be very worried about that. Developing for love or as a hobby simply isn’t sustainable."
Now, this is, at least to me, bullshitty in the sense that the open source community does not really have anything big to worry about. Large pools of companies would make yeary investments in open source codebases due to the ammount of usefulness they present to their companies. More and more great open sourced projects come out every year OUTSIDE the all eating scope of just web development(which to an extend is fine since it brings communities together)
Saying that a hobby isn't sustainable is funny in itself really.
If people don't have the time to support a hobby project because they are moving on to bigger and better things in shit that actually pays then I am glad for them. It tomorrow Arch, Debian, pop os, ubuntu and fucking freebsd goea out then I would have something to bitch about.
Till then, stating that the community haa something to worry about is just bullshit.3 -
My paper just got rejected. Again. The first time it was expected. But for this journal, it wasn't supposed to be. Some of the reviewers' comments are stupid. (for eg. I mention a no-loss algorithm fir a game which, so his/her comment is like what's no-loss? , like are you fucking kidding me, if you don't know that, then why are you a reviewer in the first place)
Anyway now I don't know what to do. I'm looking for more journals but all have so high impact factors and I'm not even sure confident to submit again. Had a good mind to mail the editor in chief but well, I don't think it'd help. What do you guys think?
In the middle of another project, another paper, online courses, now this. I'm just done. I didn't go home as well. It's around four o' clock in the morning here, so noone here is awake.
Can anyone hear me?5 -
I just migrated Test data into Production. If I start a new project, Murphy's law indicates that my phone will ring, and the migration will have been a total loss.
If I sit and do nothing, Murphy's corollary tells me the data migration will be a success?3 -
Needed money for my company, not enough clients to support business on SaaS alone. Took on a 5k / month job building a platform that competes with my SaaS (more niche, less generic). Also sign up new client who that company's owner is part owner onto my current SaaS. Win / Win?
I do a lot of custom work to my platform to fulfill their needs, which is why I ran out of time for the 5k / mo project. I did these customization for free. Losing money to keep client, but also improving my system.
Work gets busy, I need to drop the 5k project. Client is upset I am working more on his other company (he is not majority owner). I return 1 month of funds to the owner and say I cannot continue.
Owner threatens to make other company that he is part owner stop working with my software if I do not complete project. Blacklisting...great. I agree to work with an overseas developer to do it and PM it for 3 months at least. Making nearly nothing from it (now 1k / month for PM), working nights to deal with India, losing sleep...
Other company suddenly folds due to conflict of egos with that SAME owner. Users drop from 16 to 1. I drop the project, no more strong arming me. Everything is a loss, all effort and money lost for nothing. Bad bet..however...
Owner becomes 100% owner of the other company, and of the software company. I transition him to PM his own project, he still uses my software because It doesn't, nor will it, ever do what the one he is building does. Also, partners from previous company break off and use my software again. New Client. #profit.
But holy hell was it stressful in the interim. People's business tactics are disgusting. Stay calm, play it neutral. Win. Sometimes you have to do what you don't want to do in order to succeed...at least for a little bit.
I was so scared that how he screwed his partners he would screw me over as well if I built one of the modules I have planned for my System, but haven't done yet.
If I did it for him first and then built my own (totally diff codebase) I really didn't want to run into any legal issues considering the schematics he has now are mine, but I didn't finish that part of the system for him. He is obivously highly competitive. Even though he wanted me to, and still does, want me to run his company for him.
Who knows, maybe in the future. To be CTO / COO of two SaaS CRM's in the same space may make sense. But I will never sell my software to him or partner with him. Too much drama. Avoid the drama. Be careful out there fellas.
If you are a creator, people will take advantage of you in every way imaginable. Read the fine print, read the people, document everything. Don't put yourself at risk. -
Developer in anger : I'm gonna leave this team and the manager/team will suffer for my loss and the project will fail.
In the meanwhile,
Manager to the senior manager : If one of the developers die or leaves the team, the project deadline extends by 1 month.
Senior manager : Great. -
As I dismantle the infrastructure for a now dead project I once worked very hard to main, I find myself oddly emotional about it. I can't help but feel a since of loss. Goodbye friend.
-
My big data loss was I left my one-month college project and personal data on friend's laptop who don't know about what ` rm -rf ` does??2
-
What's your favorite vps hoster?
I'm currently using scaleway and love it, but recently learned that they offer no protection against data loss.
So I'm looking for an alternative for a project in production that has automatic backups as well as unmetered bandwidth.7 -
Fellow Devs,
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I am at a loss. I have applied to several Front-End jobs, both local, and remote. I have personal projects on my portfolio, and I offer to do "homework," that's been assigned while applying for a job. I am currently learning Python, but I don't have a project up with that.
Any suggestions?16 -
My one of my favorite open source project was Re-think DB!
It was highly light weight real-time DB.
One fine day, I read a blog by the CEO / founder, telling we are under loss since there is no financial support! and we are closing it, by just keeping the website and docs of prev version alive!
I was heartbroken , for days!
This takes the top place for favourite oss project
Btw
It has high no. of stars in github than Mongo db, reddis, etc..2 -
Weekend ruined supporting legacy and poorly designed services coupled with poor architecture.
But "no project bandwidth" to refactor said services.
5 hours of data loss should now hopefully inspire a backlog re-shuffle. -
I'm working on a project which monitors streaming videos from several Rasp Pi devices wirelessly. Should packet loss occur, the bitrate is reduced remotely by the central computer. (Packet loss is inevitable as wireless devices will compete for wireless bandwidth.)
To demonstrate my work I asked for a wireless WI-FI router rather than bringing one in from home. I wish I hadn't bothered...

Today our king passed away.
I had to finish my big project before the 20th, but there was no mood for doing it at all; everything feels lifeless and dark. All Thai sites were applied a css grayscale filter to show respect for his loss.
I'm not a royalist, but it feels depressing when you thought about how you would wake up the next morning, knowing he isn't there anymore. It simply was the darkest times in my life.
I spent 2 days finding the truth while Thai officials were trying to hide, and now my worst fear came true.
He was the best king I've ever had. May him finally rest in peace, back to where he belongs to.

I starting developing my skills to a pro level from 1 year and half from now. My skillset is focused on Backend Development + Data Science(Specially Deep Learning), some sort of Machine Learning Engineer. I fill my github with personal projects the last 5 months, and im currently working on a very exciting project that involves all of my skills, its about Developing and deploy a Deep Learning Model for Image Deblurring.
I started to look for work two months to now. I applied to dozens of jobs at startups, no response. I changed my strategy a bit, focusing on early stage startups that dont have infinite money for pay all that senior devs, nothing, not even that startups wish to have me in their teams. I even applied to 2 or 3 and claim to do the job for little payment, arguing im not going for money but experience, nothing. I never got a reply back, not an interview, the few that reach back(like 3, from 3 or 4 dozen of startups), was just for say their are not interested on me.
This is frustrating, what i do on my days is just push forward my personal projects without rest. I will be broke in a few months from now if i dont get a job, im still young, i have 21 years, but i dont have economic support from parents anymore(they are already broke). Truly dont know what to do. Currently my brother is helping me with the money, but he will broke in few months as i say.
The worst of all this case is that i feel capable of get things done, i have skills and i trust in myself. This is not about me having doubts about my skills, but about startups that dont care, they are not interested in me, and the other worst thing is that my profile is in high demand, at least on startups, they always seek for backend devs with Machine Learning knowledge. Im nothing for them, i only want to land that first job, but seems to be impossible.
For add to this situation, im from south america, Venezuela, and im only able to get a remote job, because in my country basically has no Tech Industry, just Agencies everywhere underpaying devs, that as extent, dont care about my profile too!!! this is ridiculous, not even that almost dead Agencies that contract devs for very little payment in my country are interested in me! As extra, my economic situation dont allows me to reallocate, i simple cant afford that. planning to do it, but after land some job for a few months. Anyways coronavirus seems to finally set remote work as the default, maybe this is not a huge factor right now.
I try to find job as freelancer, i check the freelancer sites(Freelancer, Guru and so on) every week more or less, but at least from what i see, there is no Backend-Only gigs for Python Devs, They always ask for Fullstack developers, and Machine Learning gigs i dont even mention them.
Maybe im missing something obvious, but feel incredible that someone that has skills is not capable of land even a freelancer job. Maybe im blind, or maybe im asking too much(I feel the latter is not the case). Or maybe im overestimating my self? i think around that time to time, but is not possible, i have knowledge of Rest/GraphQL APIs Development using frameworks like Flask or DJango(But i like Flask more than DJango, i feel awesome with its microframework approach). Familiarized with containerization and Docker. I can mention knowledge about SQL and DBs(PostgreSQL), ORMs(SQLAlchemy), Open Auth, CI/CD, Unit Testing, Git, Soft DevOps Skills, Design Patterns like MVC or MTV, Serverless Environments, Deep Learning Solutions, end to end: Data Gathering, Preprocessing, Data Analysis, Model Architecture Design, Training and Finetunning. Im familiarized with SotA techniques widely used now days, GANs, Transformers, Residual Networks, U-Nets, Sequence Data, Image Data or high Dimensional Data, Data Augmentation, Regularization, Dropout, All kind of loss functions and Non Linear functions. My toolset is based around Python, with Tensorflow as the main framework, supported by other libraries like pandas, numpy and other Data Science oriented utils.
I know lot of stuff, is not that enough for get a Junior Level underpaid job? truly dont get it, what is required for get a job? not even enough for get an interview?
I have some dev friends and everyone seems to be able to land jobs, why im not landing even an interview?
I will keep pushing my Dev career, is that or starve to death. But i will love to read your suggestions! how i can approach this?
i will leave here my relevant social presence:

TL;DR I just recently started my apprenticeship, it's horrible so far, I want to quit, but don't know what to do next...
Okay, first of all, hey there! My name is Cave and I haven't been on here for a while, so I hope the majority of you is doing rather okay. I'm programming for 6 years now, have some work experience already, since I used to volunteer for a company for half a year, in which I discovered my love for integrations and stuff. These background information will probably be necessary to understand my agony in full extend.
So, okay, this is about my apprenticeship. Generally speaking, I was expecting to work, and to learn something, gaining experience. So far, it only involved me, reading through horrible code, fixing and replacing stuff for them, I didn't learn a thing yet, and we are already a month in.
When I said the code is horrible, well, it is the worst I have ever seen since I started programming. Little documentation - if any -, everywhere you look there is deprecated code, which may or may not been commented out, often loops or simply methods seem to be foreign for them, as the code is cluttered with copy paste code everywhere and on top of that all, the code is slow as heck, like wtf.
I spent my past month with reading their code, trying to understand what most of this nonsense is for, and then just deleting and rewriting it entirely. My code suddenly is only 5% or their size and about 1000 times faster. Did I mention I am new to this programming language yet? That I have absolutely no experience in that programming language? Because well I am new and don't have any experience, yet, I have little to no struggle doing it better.
Okay, so, imagine, you started programming like 20 years ago, you were able to found your own business, you are getting paid a decent amount of money, sounds alright, right? Here comes the twist: you have been neglecting every advancement made in developing software for the past 20 years, yup, that's what it feels like to work here.
At this point I don't even know, like is this normal? Did git, VSCode and co. spoil me? Am I supposed to use ancient software with ancient programming languages to make my life hell? Is programming supposed to be like this? I have no clue, you tell me, I always thought I was doing stuff right.
Well, this company is not using git, infact, they have every of their project in a single folder and deleting it by accident is not that hard, I almost did once, that was scary. I started out working locally, just copying files, so shit like that won't happen, they told me to work directly in the source. They said it's fine, that's why you can see 20 copies of the folder, in the same folder... Yes, right, whatever.
I work using a remote desktop, the server I work on is Windows server 2008, you want to make icons using gimp? Too bad, Gimp doesn't support windows server 2008, I don't think anything does anymore, at least I haven't found anything, lol.
They asked me to integrate Google Maps into their projects, I thought it is gonna be fun, well, turns out their software uses internet explorer 9.. and Google maps api does not support internet explorer 9... I ended up somehow installing CEF3 on that shit and wrote an API for it in JS. Writing the API was actually kind of fun, but integrating it in their software sucked and they told me I will never integrate stuff ever again, since they usually don't do that. I mean, they don't have a Backend as far as I can tell, it looks like stuff directly connects with their database, so I believe them, but you know... I love integrating stuff..
So at this point you might be thinking, then why don't you just quit? Well I would, definitely. I'm lucky that till December I can quit without prior notice, just need a resignation as far as I can tell, but when I quit, what do I do next? Like, I volunteered for a company for half a year and I'd argue I did a good job, but with this apprenticeship it only adds up to about 7 months of actual work experience. Would anybody hire somebody with this much actual work experience? I also consider doing freelancing, making a living out of just integrating stuff, but would people pay for that? And then again, would they hire somebody with this much experience? I don't want to quit without a plan on what to do next, but I have no clue.
Am I just spoiled, is programming really just like that, using ancient tools and stuff? Let me know. Advice is welcomed as well, because I'm at a loss. Thanks for reading.10 -
Deleted a cloned directory for a project which I had made several bug fixes and updates on. I just noticed I couldn’t find the updated files folder when I want to clone for a new project. Sadly this means I must have deleted the directory thinking it was a duplicate of the initial project.
I have no backup and for some dumb reason I forgot to create a repo for the newly cloned directory. I have cleared my recycle bin multiple times prior to now.

RECOVER YOUR STOLEN BTC/USDT WITH THE HELP OF SOLACE CYBER WORKSTATIONS
When I first encountered a fitness-focused crypto token supposedly endorsed by NFL quarterback Jake Thompson, I was filled with excitement and optimism. As a long-time fan of Thompson's remarkable performances on the field, his endorsement would lend credibility to the project. Eager to seize what I thought was a golden opportunity, I invested $12,000, convinced that this token would yield significant returns. My enthusiasm quickly turned to despair. Just days after my investment, Thompson deleted all his posts related to the token, leading to a catastrophic collapse in its value. To my utter disbelief, I later learned that the account promoting the token was a fraudulent impersonation of someone who had been posing as Thompson to mislead investors like me. This shocking revelation made it clear that the endorsement was nothing more than a ploy by a scam artist, raising serious ethical concerns about the integrity of celebrity endorsements in the cryptocurrency realm. Desperate to recover my losses, I sought assistance from Solace Cyber Workstations, a firm renowned for its expertise in tracing and recovering funds from fraudulent schemes. Solace Cyber Workstations conducted a thorough investigation and uncovered a disturbing connection between the token's development team for orchestrating celebrity scams. This agency had a long history of leveraging high-profile endorsements, including impersonations, to ensnare unsuspecting investors in dubious ventures. With the support of Solace Cyber Workstations, I felt a renewed sense of hope. They took decisive action, threatening to expose the agency's clients to compel them to take responsibility. Thanks to Solace Cyber Workstations' strategic approach, I was able to recover an impressive 90% of my investment, totaling $10,800. While I still faced a loss, it was a tremendous relief to see such a significant portion of my money returned, all thanks to Solace Cyber Workstations' diligent efforts. This has served as a harsh lesson about the inherent risks of investing in celebrity-endorsed cryptocurrencies, particularly when impersonation is involved. I now recognize the critical importance of conducting thorough research and exercising caution before committing my funds to any project, especially those backed by famous figures. I hope my story serves as a warning to others to remain vigilant in the ever-evolving landscape of digital assets, and I cannot stress enough how instrumental Solace Cyber Workstations was in helping me navigate this challenging situation. Don't be left out, reach out to them now

As a startup owner based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, I was excited to hire a freelance graphic designer for a complete branding package to launch my business. After some research, I found a highly recommended freelancer who seemed perfect for the job. The freelancer was professional, provided impressive samples of their work, and had great reviews from previous clients. We agreed on a high-paying contract, and to show my commitment, I paid a 50% upfront deposit of CAD 10,000.The freelancer was communicative and met deadlines as we moved through the project. I felt confident in the direction we were heading, and everything seemed to be on track. But when I finally received the completed designs, things took an unexpected turn. Despite my requests for some minor revisions, the freelancer stopped responding to emails and calls. As days passed, I became increasingly worried as they completely vanished. The contact email was suddenly invalid, and the phone number didn’t go through. Even the freelancer's website, which had seemed legitimate, was now offline.I realized that I had been scammed. Not only had I lost the remaining CAD 10,000 payment, but the branding designs I had received were unusable making the time, money, and energy I had put into this project a total waste. As a new business owner, this loss was incredibly hard to handle. It affected my ability to move forward with my plans and left me feeling helpless.Desperate for a solution, I reached out to SPARTAN TECH GROUP RETRIEVAL , a company I had heard about through some online reviews. I explained the entire situation, providing all the details: the freelancer’s communications, the fake website, and the transaction records. The team at SPARTAN TECH GROUP RETRIEVAL was incredibly professional and understanding, assuring me that they would use all their resources to track down the freelancer and recover my funds. To my amazement, within a few weeks, SPARTAN TECH GROUP RETRIEVAL had managed to trace the stolen money. They used advanced digital forensics to track the funds to an offshore account and collaborated with legal authorities to freeze it. After a thorough investigation, they successfully recovered the full CAD 10,000 and returned it to me.Not only did I get my money back, but SPARTAN TECH GROUP RETRIEVAL also took the time to educate me on how to verify the legitimacy of freelancers before hiring them. They recommended secure payment methods and advised me to conduct thorough background checks to avoid future scams. This was a wake-up call for me. As a business owner, I learned the importance of safeguarding myself against dishonest individuals. Thanks to SPARTAN TECH GROUP RETRIEVAL, I didn’t just recover my funds I gained the knowledge and confidence to continue growing my business while protecting myself from potential fraud.

The Turnaround: How Cybernetsurveillance Saved My Lost Crypto Investment
A few months ago, I fell victim to a cryptocurrency scam that nearly wiped out my savings. It started with a seemingly legitimate investment platform offering early access to a new decentralized finance (DeFi) project. The platform was polished, with professional branding and detailed project information. I even had a brief conversation with one of their “representatives,” which gave me the final push to invest. I transferred a significant amount of cryptocurrency, confident that I was getting in on the ground floor of a promising opportunity. But within weeks, the platform shut down, the representatives disappeared, and my funds were gone. It was a devastating blow, and I felt completely at a loss. In my desperate search for solutions, I came across Cybernetsurveillance and reached out to them with a glimmer of hope. Their team responded swiftly and took immediate action. They walked me through their process, explaining how they would analyze the blockchain to trace the stolen funds, even if the scammers had used complex techniques to hide their tracks. I was impressed by their thoroughness and reassured by their experience in dealing with these types of cases. For the first time since the scam, I felt like there was a real possibility of getting my money back. Over the following weeks, Cybernetsurveillance worked tirelessly to track down the scammers’ wallets and unravel the network of transactions linked to my stolen crypto. Their persistence paid off—they were able to identify key accounts involved in the scam and worked with relevant exchanges to freeze them. To my amazement, they recovered a portion of my lost funds. It was a relief I hadn’t thought possible. The team not only returned a significant amount of my investment but also provided advice on how to better protect myself in the future. Thanks to Cybernetsurveillance, I regained my footing and learned valuable lessons about navigating the cryptocurrency world. Their expertise, dedication, and transparency throughout the process were nothing short of exceptional. I can’t recommend them highly enough to anyone who has been caught in a crypto scam. Cybernetsurveillance truly turned my situation around.

LOST YOUR CRYPTO? HERE IS HOW TO GET IT BACK SAFELY HIRE ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST
At 49, my life is the result of both calculated risks and deeply painful betrayals. As an economics lecturer at Harrington University, I teach students about market fluctuations and financial strategy. But the most profound lessons I share come not from textbooks, they come from my own personal experience with loss, betrayal, and eventual recovery. WhatsApp info: +12 (72332)—8343
Before stepping into university classrooms, I was a high school teacher at Westbridge High. Quietly and methodically, I built a $370,000 cryptocurrency trading portfolio. What started as a side project became a private triumph, a reflection of my deep understanding of economic principles, cultivated through discipline, patience, and analytical thinking.
But ambition can invite envy. Email info: Adware recovery specialist @ auctioneer. net
Some of my old friends from Westbridge, once trusted confidants, became resentful as they learned of my growing financial success. That resentment turned malicious when they orchestrated a sophisticated phishing attack. It came through a seemingly harmless email. One careless click, and just like that, everything was gone. My savings, my sense of security, and my faith in people I had known for decades vanished in an instant.
The aftermath was paralyzing. Though I reported the theft, the digital trail seemed impossibly complex. I felt isolated, betrayed, and utterly lost. Then a colleague referred me to Adware Recovery Specialist, a cybersecurity firm that specializes in digital financial fraud. Within just 32 hours, they recovered my compromised email, traced the attack, and compiled a detailed forensic report. The evidence was airtight, IP addresses, time stamps, even messages exchanged by the perpetrators. Website info: h t t p s:// adware recovery specialist. com
Thanks to their work, I took legal action. Faced with irrefutable proof, my former “friends” settled quickly, agreeing to pay $300,000 in restitution to avoid criminal prosecution.
Today, back at my desk at Harrington University, I bring more than just economic theory into the classroom. I teach about risk, trust, digital vulnerability, and most importantly, resilience. I share my experience not to scare, but to prepare. Because no amount of expertise shields you completely from deception. But with the right allies, even the worst chapters can be rewritten.
Yes, I still trade crypto. But now, I do it with triple-layer authentication and a much more guarded heart. Every time I log into my secured accounts, I think of Adware Recovery Specialist, not just for recovering my funds, but for restoring my belief that justice, with the right team, is possible.
Because sometimes, the most valuable recovery isn’t just financial, it’s personal.2 -

Fraudulent activities in the cryptocurrency space can lead to devastating consequences, as I unfortunately discovered when I became a victim of a deceptive NFT minting site that resulted in a loss of 12 ETH. The arena of crypto gaming is full of excitement and promises of big rewards, but it can also be deceiving, filled with scams that target the unwary. I learned this lesson the hard way when I joined a "play-to-earn" tournament that turned out to be a scam. The organizers asked for a 5,000 USDC entry fee, which I paid, eager to see the potential returns. But as soon as they received my payment, they locked me out of the platform and vanished without a trace. It was a classic fraud where the developers take the investors' funds and disappear, leaving no way to recover your money. At first, I felt a sense of powerlessness and frustration. I had been tricked, and I was left with nothing. But I wasn’t ready to accept this loss. I knew I had to fight back. I decided to reach out to DIGITAL TECH GUARD RECOVERY, a firm that specializes in handling crypto fraud cases. They were quick to respond, and their team took immediate action. They infiltrated the scam’s Discord group, where they began gathering evidence of the scam’s operations. They tracked the transactions to see where the stolen funds were being funneled. With DIGITAL TECH GUARD RECOVERY's help, I learned how to trace the wallet movements and better understand how the scam was executed. The recovery team at DIGITAL TECH GUARD RECOVERY worked tirelessly, piecing together the puzzle of stolen funds and identifying ways to recover some of my losses. The crypto space, especially crypto gaming, can be full of risks, and if you're not careful, it can cost you dearly. What stood out the most from this experience was how easily things can go wrong if you're not cautious. Scammers thrive on the excitement and optimism that come with the idea of easy money in the crypto world, preying on those looking for a quick return. However, there’s also a silver lining to this story: even in the world of crypto gaming, where scams are rampant, there are ways to fight back. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, don’t lose hope. Seek out expert help DIGITAL TECH GUARD RECOVERY specializes in crypto recovery, and they can help you get your funds back. RECOVER MY STOLEN CRYPTO / TRACK STOLEN CRYPTO WITH PROFICIENT EXPERT CONSULTANT
One Friday in Texas, I was filled with anticipation as I prepared to onboard a new subcontractor for a project that had been meticulously planned for months. As the project manager, I bore the responsibility of ensuring that every detail was executed flawlessly, and I was eager to integrate this new talent into our team. The subcontractor had reached out to me via email, presenting themselves as a highly skilled professional with an impressive portfolio. Our exchanges were seamless and persuasive, instilling a growing confidence in their capabilities. They proposed using Bitcoin for payment, asserting that it was the most efficient and secure method available. Trusting their professionalism and the burgeoning trend of cryptocurrency transactions, I proceeded with the transfer, sending 4 Bitcoin (BTC) to the wallet address they provided. I felt a profound sense of accomplishment. I had fulfilled my obligation, and everything appeared to be falling into place. My relief swiftly morphed into dread when I realized that the subcontractor had vanished without a trace. All communication ceased, and the email address I had been corresponding with was no longer active. Panic surged through me as I grasped the gravity of the situation I had been duped. I convened with my team to discuss the unfortunate turn of events. We quickly recognized the irreversible nature of cryptocurrency transactions. Unlike traditional banking, where payments can often be reversed, this was a permanent loss. The amount I had sent was substantial, and the thought of losing it all was overwhelming. A sinking feeling settled in my stomach as I contemplated the ramifications of my actions. I had placed my trust in someone I barely knew, and now I was confronting the consequences of my misplaced faith. I embarked on a quest for solutions and discovered PROFICIENT EXPERT CONSULTANT, a firm specializing in tracing and recovering lost or stolen cryptocurrency. Their website was replete with testimonials from individuals who had successfully reclaimed their funds, which ignited a flicker of hope within me. I reached out to PROFICIENT EXPERT CONSULTANT immediately via PROFICIENTEXPERT @ CONSULTANT . C O M ~ Telegram : @ PROFICIENTEXPERT for your support, articulating my predicament in detail. Their team was remarkably responsive and assured me that they would employ every resource at their disposal to track the funds. They explained how they would utilize advanced blockchain analysis techniques to trace the Bitcoin and gather compelling evidence of the fraud. As PROFICIENT EXPERT CONSULTANT commenced their investigation, I learned just how sophisticated these scammers could be. The funds I had sent were swiftly transferred to another wallet, and the scammer had employed mixing services to obfuscate the trail, complicating efforts to trace the money. However, the experts at PROFICIENT EXPERT CONSULTANT were undeterred. They worked diligently, leveraging their expertise in blockchain technology to follow the digital breadcrumbs left behind by the scammer. With each update from PROFICIENT EXPERT CONSULTANT, I felt a renewed sense of hope that they might be able to recover my lost Bitcoin. This has been a harsh lesson when navigating the cryptocurrency landscape. Thanks to PROFICIENT EXPERT CONSULTANT, I now comprehend the necessity of implementing robust verification processes for new subcontractors and the imperative of secure payment methods. In my role, I have come to appreciate the significance of thoroughly verifying the identities of those I engage with and ensuring that payment methods are fortified against potential fraud. In hindsight, I wish I had taken the time to authenticate the subcontractor’s identity through multiple channels and utilized an escrow service to safeguard my funds. I am relieved to share that I recovered all the funds. I hope that sharing my story will serve as a cautionary tale for others. Cryptocurrency offers myriad benefits, but it also harbors significant risks that cannot be overlooked. I urge anyone engaging in digital transactions to exercise caution, conduct thorough research, and prioritize security measures to protect themselves from potential scams. With the invaluable assistance of PROFICIENT EXPERT CONSULTANT, I learned that there are resources available to aid victims of fraud, and I hope others can find the same support in their times of need.5 -

Why Bookkeeping is Essential for Service Businesses
Service businesses face unique challenges when it comes to financial management. Unlike product-based businesses, service-based companies may deal with fluctuating revenues, project-based billing, and different client payment schedules. Keeping track of income and expenses accurately is vital to ensure profitability, tax compliance, and financial growth.
Bookkeeping for service businesses is essential for the following reasons:
Accurate Financial Tracking
Service businesses often operate on contracts or agreements with varying payment schedules. Proper bookkeeping ensures that all client invoices, payments, and expenses are accurately recorded, giving you a true picture of your business’s financial health.
Expense Management
Service businesses may incur expenses related to travel, supplies, marketing, and more. By tracking these expenses properly, we help ensure that your books remain organized and you can easily identify opportunities to cut costs or increase profits.
Tax Compliance
Bookkeeping is essential to staying compliant with tax regulations. We ensure that your financial records are accurate and complete so that you can file your taxes without any issues. This helps you avoid penalties and take advantage of all potential tax deductions.
Cash Flow Management
For service businesses, cash flow can fluctuate depending on the nature of contracts and billing cycles. We help you keep track of incoming payments and outgoing expenses, ensuring that you have enough working capital to operate smoothly.
How We Provide Comprehensive Bookkeeping Financial Reports
At Lighthouse Bookkeeping LLC, we understand that financial reports are the backbone of decision-making. Our bookkeeping financial reports provide a detailed view of your business’s financial performance, allowing you to assess profitability, track your financial goals, and make strategic business decisions.
Our bookkeeping financial reports include:
Profit and Loss (P&L) Statements
The P&L statement shows your business’s income and expenses over a specific period. It helps you understand your revenue, cost of goods sold, and operating expenses, giving you insights into whether your business is profitable.
Balance Sheet
The balance sheet provides a snapshot of your business’s financial position at a given point in time, listing your assets, liabilities, and equity. It helps you assess your business’s financial stability and ability to cover its debts.
Cash Flow Statement
The cash flow statement tracks the flow of cash in and out of your business. This report provides essential information for managing cash flow, helping you ensure that you have sufficient cash to cover day-to-day expenses.
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Reports
These reports track outstanding payments from clients (accounts receivable) and amounts you owe to vendors (accounts payable). They are essential for maintaining healthy cash flow and ensuring you are on top of any outstanding financial obligations.
Job or Project-Based Reports
For service businesses that work on projects or contracts, we provide detailed reports that break down income and expenses related to specific jobs, helping you assess the profitability of individual projects or clients.
The Importance of Bookkeeping Monthly Reports
In addition to providing periodic financial statements, bookkeeping monthly reports offer a snapshot of your business’s financial status on a month-to-month basis. These reports allow business owners to track performance, analyze trends, and make timely adjustments to their strategies.
Here’s why bookkeeping monthly reports are critical for service businesses:7 -

As an architect in Texas, I was excited to begin remodeling my new home. I had big plans to transform the space into something perfect, after months of research, I selected what seemed to be a reputable construction company. They came highly recommended, with a professional portfolio and impressive credentials. After an initial consultation, I felt confident they were the right choice for the job. Unfortunately, things quickly went south. As the project progressed, the quality of the work was disappointing, and the timeline kept slipping. Payments had already been made, and I noticed the progress was extremely slow with little visible results. I had paid a substantial sum of $8,700 for the work, and all I had to show for it was a half-completed project. Worse, the contractor became difficult to reach, and communication became increasingly erratic. It didn’t take long for me to realize something was off. I started to suspect that I was being taken advantage of, and the situation quickly escalated from frustrating to worrying. It dawned on me that I might be dealing with a fraudulent company. At this point, I was desperate to recover my money and avoid losing any more. I reached out to Digital resolution services for assistance, hoping they could help me navigate the situation. Digital resolution services acted quickly. Their team thoroughly investigated the construction company and uncovered a history of fraudulent activities. It turned out that the company had scammed several homeowners before, using fake credentials and disappearing after taking large deposits. With their expert assistance, I was able to dispute the charge with my credit card company and initiate the process of recovering my funds. Thanks to Digital resolution services, I was able to recover the full $8,700 I had spent. The relief I felt when I got all my money back was indescribable. Not only did Digital resolution services help me recover the funds, but they also empowered me to hire a legitimate contractor to finish the remodeling work. This ensured that my vision for the home could finally be realized, without the looming financial loss. This experience taught me a hard lesson about thoroughly vetting contractors and being cautious with large deposits. I am incredibly grateful to Digital resolution services for their support and expertise, which allowed me to get my hard-earned money back and move forward with my project. I want to say a big thank you to the team at Digital resolution services.

I lost $295,000 worth of Bitcoin that was to be donated to a mental health initiative, an initiative to bring therapy and assistance to those who needed it most. It started with me stumbling upon a website that was providing free therapy via a "therapist portal" that seemed too good to be true. Thinking that I could get cheap treatment, I clicked my way through, and before I knew it, a Trojan horse had invaded my system. In the blink of an eye, the malware erased the keys to my crypto wallet, leaving me not only financially bankrupt but also psychologically shattered. I felt as though I had witnessed someone steal the lifeblood of my mission to heal others. During this crisis, a cybersecurity therapist, an unusual blend of technical skill and empathetic counseling, saw my frantic online messages on the loss. With a soothing voice reminiscent of a sage mentor, they told me to reach Cranix Ethical Solutions Haven. They told me that these digital wizards had a track record of recovering crypto funds from the clutches of cybercrime. Holding onto hope, I called them right away. From the very first consultation, the Cranix Ethical Solutions Haven team managed my case with technical skill combined with genuine compassion. They dove into my system logs and isolated the malware with the delicacy of a master surgeon. Their engineers worked late hours to decrypt my wallet, untangling each line of infected code and reconstructing my private keys from fragmentary backup data. Each time they provided an update, it was a beacon of hope amidst my fear, reminding me that they were fighting to recover not just my money, but the promise of a better future for those who were fighting mental illness. And at last, after 11 nights of sleepless anxiety, came the breakthrough. My wallet was cracked open, my money set free, and with it, the lifeline to my mental health project. I felt a profound relief, a salvation that went far beyond numbers. Cranix Ethical Solutions Haven had not only recovered my investment but had also protected the promise of healing for so many. I now proceed and rebuild my project with renewed enthusiasm, grateful to the dedicated staff who instilled in me that during darkness there are saviors to rescue lives.
