FUCK GOOGLE.
FUCK THE GOOGLE PLAY REVIEW TEAM.
FUCK THEIR BOT GENERATED EMAILS.
FUCK THEIR DEVELOPER SUPPORT.
I am trying to launch a fucking action game. There will be fucking guns and muzzle flashes shown in the screenshots. Stop fucking rejecting the app. There is no blood in the icon or screenshots. Stop sending me bot generated emails and tell me what content is being flagged.
A little information on the whole scenario: My game was rejected so immediately I contacted the support as to what was the issue. The guy told me 2 screenshots were flagged because they had the muzzle flashes and damage indicator (call of duty type which tells the direction from where the bullets are coming from). So I removed the screenshots and still the game was rejected. FUCK THESE ASSHOLES. SAME GOES FOR APPLE.9 -
Don't you just wish you can delete things from the internet forever?
I used to be a host on this show, not telling the name tho. It aired every Thursdays at 10 pm. And in case anyone missed it, the television station would post it on their youtube channel.
I was so desperate to remove it that I flagged it a bunch of times, but I knew it wouldn't work.
I'm dying of embarassment because everyone is finding it. It doesn't air on TV anymore, so that youtube channel is the bane of my existance.
I even got the idea to search myself up and delete any social media accounts, because I want to be nearly invisible on the internet.
That worked out. Except for that damn youtube channel.
I was a fucking 14 year old. I looked weird, acted weird, my mom made me dress weirdly. I was so nervous, I licked my freaking lips ON CAMERA. Not to mention, I had acne, and my skin was dark at the time because I was fresh out of middle school, and I did cross country in middle school.
Now I'm curious. Does anyone else have something embarassing on the internet that they can't get rid of?26 -
Some young kid taking his first steps into compsci was being straight-up fucking harassed on SO. No one answered, instead users with really high rep just said shit like "if you tried to hang yourself with that code it'd come apart but you should check anyway" in the comments. I flagged the comments and got fucking banned from the entire Stack Exchange network. I created a new account to help the kid, posted an answer, and was banned and had my answer removed within 5 minutes.
SE can burn in hell.11 -
Nothing like waking up to racist messages from a client that isn't even under contract yet, guess who's getting flagged and muted.5

So my office manager decided to ban kitchen utensils in the office. Part of the reason was that there was too much stealing. Apparently too many mugs, knives, plates & spoons have gone missing for it to be just through loss.
I tried to reason with this office manager. I asked if we really want to create a culture of mistrust where we ban basic utilities like we’re children.
I appealed to the business logic do we really want freelancers going out to grab a coffee 10 minutes a day over a period of a year.
I tried to appeal to the digital nature of the office can we “source the solution from the office”
The other office have to bring in their own utensils but the other office has a canteen.
Essentially I feel like this was a power issue a decision was made I’m not allowed to question it.
Apparently my “behaviour” has been flagged with the CTO. 🤣🤨
I have to stir my tea with a knife unless I put stuff in my desk.
As a solution I decided to reach out to several green companies that provide disposable cutlery and kitchen where they agreed to send a sample which I put in the kitchen. I have a feeling this will be taken as hostile move in of what is: a solution.
Seriously W T actual F.6 -
My websites contact form got a submission from some "manjeet" offering me his freelancing services, together with previous projects, where he apparently delivered and... has a login backdoor that he advertises to others to check out?.. with credentials etc.
Also got flagged with "It contains a suspicious link that was used to steal people's personal information. Avoid clicking links or replying with personal information."5 -
My son is into playing Roblox. He asked me to help him find an auto clicker that doesn't have viruses/malware. We looked into cheatengine (which I have used in the past), but despite getting it from a legit source it is getting flagged as malware. So we started writing one with Python. I did check to see what their policy on bots is:
"Using bots that are programmed to run disruptive, large-scale tasks"
is the only text I can find about bots. It seems like they don't care if you make bots to automate tasks or play the game.
I plan on having some fun with this and including a little gui to control the bot while the game runs in the background (the goal). I had tried to get my son to have an interest in programming so this is a good intro.11 -
Time to do a little bit of shaming:
I'm specialized in e-commerce applications, mostly based on Shopware, a german out-of-the-box online-shop. They essentially claim to be a better Magento. In December of last year I found a critical issue within the code. Products within the shop can be declared as digital wares. In that case the purchase of a product will unlock the possibility to download a designated file.
As a customer you can access your downloads within the account section. Now here's the problem: The query that fetches the unlocked downloads for a customer is hard-capped at 500 rows. So after your 500th purchase, you won't be able to access any further files you paid for. Essentially their developers thought that this limit would never be exceeded anyway and called it a day.
Personally I think this unacceptable. For the merchant this is a potential law-suit in the making. So I took the time to refactor the code and fix the issue. The corresponding pull-request was flagged as scheduled back in December. Since then there have been numerous releases and the issue is still present. Not only do I ask myself why I should ever put in time and effort to fix their code again, but I also can't believe that they just chose to ignore the issue completely. Also mind that this is not just a small or non-profit open-source project. The responsible company behind the software is a stock corporation that claims to be the market leader in Germany.5 -
I gotta share my favorite ever SO question that I flagged... here's a screenshot. Props to the person for having the balls to post it.

I *hate* when the boss asks me to add people to our mailing list who didn't opt in. I just sent out a campaign and, predictably, a ton of people flagged it as spam or unsubscribed. Only three sales out of over 10,000 sends. But in his mind, that's ok. Ugh.9

*posts some answers on Quora*
*gets flagged by moderator cunt for using my nickname, one that I've been using on that account for 3 years*
WELL THANK YOU QUORA FOR THE APPRECIATION!! I'll TOTALLY contribute some fucking more next time!!! You know what, whoever flagged my account? Exchange your lube for bleach, and go fuck yourself with a cactus. Don't forget to use the new lube! Pour it in that glory hole like there's no tomorrow! Fucking piece of shit.3 -
Apparently you can't call the imperial system retarded, as it hurts people.
I got flagged by a university admin for posting this picture to a science memes discord channel. How retarded is that?
God save us when this snowflake generation takes power and there is a war, famine, drought, flood, or God (or gods for that matter, or Flying Spaghetti Monster, don't get offended here!) forbid, aliens attack us.
I bet these people don't ever fly an Airbus because its FMC calls the pilot a retard.

I just realized one of today's emails is asking to review again that spaghetti program and this time figure out how to optimize performance because it is getting flagged for high cpu and database usage. A Niagra of If-statements and nobody-cares-for-comments-and-technical-documentation.
*bleep* *bleep* *bleep* previous programmer.
I'll deal with this torture on Monday.2 -
ChaseBank is getting up my nose. Twice in four business days my account was flagged and I had to change my password for 'security' purposes. I spent the better part of 90 minutes in a futile attempt to find out why, when there's been no suspicious activity on my account, I'm being flagged. My father contacted a branch manager near him who told him to dial the priolrity customer service number and key in the letters (I shit you not) HO HO. I called the number. It's the same damn number I'd been calling. I called the branch. They told me I'd definitely receive a call back last Friday by 1800. No call. So, yesterday I called the manager of that branch, verified its location, told the manager he was supposed to call me by 1800 last Friday, and Chase Corporate would be in touch with him soon to explain that when you tell a customer you'll call them, you'll fucking call them.2

Looking for internships for the summer, a comp. sends me a email at 3 in the morning and I had emails from them flagged and my phone woke me up. I'm not mad about rejection but rather why send me a email at 3 I like to sleep sometimes.1

Google has flagged a document in my drive, saying that it is violating its terms of service.
The document is just a digital logic and computer design book.
I don't know how a book is violating its TOS?17 -
1. As i was freelancing on upwork some company contacted me and said my CV looks interesting and they gave me a link from their site to download a .rar file with details about their company and dev positions
2. Ok i open the link and the whole site is just blank page with 1 single button: "Download 5.8 mb"
3. Thought to myself: who the fuck has this low quality site of a company, shitty as fuck and as if its built in the 90s. But ok
4. About 2 days later they got banned on upwork and we cant chat anymore. I send this .rar file to virus total and 7 anti virus softwares scanned a trojan + 14 security vendors flagged the rar as malicious malware
Are you FUCKING kidding me? This is the type of bullshit I'm expecting to see in web3 world. Who the FUCK comes on upwork to infect ENGINEERS?? Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME? I'll publish their data right now:
Link:
https://hsatrack.com/files/...
Password: 49-49Zb2
Their site:
https://hsatrack.com/
Honestly if i opened this fucking home page site first i would have smelled a virus miles away. But i just didnt expect a fucking virus AT ALL on UPWORK. Never happened to me before. This is the type of criminal fraud malware shit i expect AND SEE DAILY on WEB3 -- WHO TF DOES IT IN WEB2 IN 2023?? I'LL FUCK THIS CEO'S LIFE UPSIDE DOWN 180 RIGHT NOW2 -
The company that manages my ISA for Lambda emails on a regular basis to get you to update your income. I got annoyed by the frequency while I was employed so started filtering everything.
Though I’ve been up to date with reporting income to them and submitting tax documents, etc, I apparently missed some important emails.
Like the one on the 4th saying a third party provider flagged by account for employment with CompanyA and that I needed to submit my pay stubs for CompanyA.
I do not and have never worked for CompanyA. My husband works for CompanyA.
I also missed the email from the 12th saying I’m in breach of contract and owe them $19,091.65 immediately.
*head desk*
I’m so mad I can’t even.
Why did i check my email before going to sleep?
AND I POSTED RECENTLY SO I CAN’T EVEN RANT YET. *

Sus!
yesterday I bought a cool domain in namecheap, I was very lucky to find short and good one for my case.
Today (at weekends!!!!) I receive a letter:
>Hello **redacted name**,
>
>We are contacting you from the Namecheap Risk Management Team regarding your '**redacted name account**' account.
>
>Unfortunately, your Namecheap account was flagged by our fraud screening system as requiring verification and was locked.
>
>Please follow the instructions below to get your account verified:
>
>- take a color photo of the credit card used for the payment at **redacted link**
>
>Please make sure all of the edges of the credit card are visible, and that we can clearly see the card holder's name, expiration, and last four digits of the card number. The screenshots or images of the card cannot be accepted for verification. >If the submission does not meet these requirements, we can either request to submit the details again or permanently suspend your account.
>
>- provide a valid phone number and the best time to call you (within normal business hours, US Pacific time).
>
>If we do not hear back from you within 24 hours, we will be forced to cancel your orders.
>
>We apologize for any inconvenience that may result from this process. This extra verification is done for your security and to ensure that orders are legitimate. This industry, unfortunately, has a high rate of fraudulent orders, and this sort of >verification helps us drastically reduce fraud and ensure our customers remain secure. Such documents are used for verification only and are not provided to third parties in any way. Account verification is a one-time procedure, after your account >is verified, you will never face this issue again.
>
>Looking forward to your reply.

> Namecheap, Inc.
what if I did not notice it in 24 hours? It is the weekend for god's sake! People usually rest until monday.
They would what, cancel order and scalpel it to super high price?!
I have some doubts if the request is trully having anti fraudulent origins.
What if I used digital visa card? How was I supposed to photo it?
And the service they provided for photoing accepts only photos from web camera. I was lucky that I bought recently web camera with high enough amount of pixel power and manual focus. What if I did not?
That's all really SUS!
The person can not notice the letter within 24 hours time frame until the morning, when it would be already too late.10 -
Did an interview and got some feedback and my coding challenge (I didn't make the cut) . Was surprised at a particular comment on why it was I didn't make the cut and it was about the code not compiling atall. So I went to check the repo and found some code which I oath to have removed lodged into the code base which prevented the reviewer from being able to compile it. How tf it wasn't flagged out when I was compiling before pushing to the repo is beyond me. Now I feel hella stupid and disappointed in myself 🤦🏾♀️ (to be fair it wasn't the only reason I didn't make the cut. The code could have being better)1

Long story short:
Just had several problems with using some drone ci plugins (hugo and sftp). Found issues regarding the problems on GitHub. Issues have been open for several years. Still open. Tried to participate or ask for the state. Got a "no one else got a problem with this". Recoded both plugins. Tested them. Using them now. Source is on GitHub. Posted them as alternatives on drone's discourse. Got flagged as spam.
Nice. Not using Drone again. Searching for an alternative now.
Little extra: I think they banned me from posting GitHub links on their discourse.4 -
My Github account got flagged.. I don't understand why..
I was just trying to push my innocent code..4 -
Boss: not upgrading Angular v1 or rewriting everything on the modern tech stack.
But we need to resolve all the security issues we're getting flagged on.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯5 -
Reddit has become unusable. I posted a completely innocuous request there about financial instruments. My post was immediately flagged and unpublished for no specific reason. "Sorry, this post has been removed by the moderators of r/personalfinance.
Moderators remove posts from feeds for a variety of reasons, including keeping communities safe, civil, and true to their purpose." What the hell can you post to Reddit besides shitposts?5 -
I've been reading a lot about companies moving towards implementing a one-person policy. Like, one person is end-to-end responsible for the backend, one person for android app, one for iOS app and so on.
They also call it "lean teams. Less people, less discussions, less bullshit"
Or maybe the search algorithms have flagged me as a recent job seeker, idk.
This is seriously scary because essentially it's telling devs "We will underpay you and overwork you as we wish. And you can't leave us because other companies have implemented their one person policy so u ain't getting hired anywhere else."9 -
Ok, all of us have seen the memes about how nasty Stack Overflow can be, this is why I usually try to find an existing SO post to read instead of making one. This time however, I found an error that I couldn't fix. A nasty C runtime error. I decided to ask a SO question for help, and awaited answers. I came back, and the question had been flagged to require more info, so I added more. I came back later, and someone told me I was doing it the hard way, and I should be using Visual Studio (I'm on Visual Studio Code), which ticks me off, because I don't want to use the hacky way around the problem, then this same person closed the question! They didn't even answer it, they just offered a simple workaround then closed without an answer. Man, SO sucks sometimes.15

This is more of an advice seeking rant. I've recently been promoted to Team Leader of my team but mostly because of circumstances. The previous team leader left for a start-up and I've been somehow the acting Scrum Master of the team for the past months (although our company sucks at Scrum generally speaking) and also having the most time in the company. However I'm still the youngest I'm my team so managing the actual team feels a bit weird and also I do not consider myself experienced enough to be a Technical lead but we don't have a different position for that.
Below actions happen in the course of 2-3 months.
With all the things above considered I find myself in a dire situation, a couple of months ago there were several Blocker bugs opened from the Clients side / production env related to one feature, however after spending about a month or so on trying to investigate the issues we've come to the conclusion that it needs to be refactorised as it's way too bad and it can't be solved (as a side note this issue has also been raised by a former dev who left the company). Although it was not part of the initial upcoming version release it was "forcefully" introduced in the plan and we took out of the scope other things but was still flagged as a potential risk. But wait..there's more, this feature was part of a Java microservice (the whole microservice basically) and our team is mostly made of JS, just one guy who actually works as a Java dev (I've only done one Java course during uni but never felt attracted to it). I've not been involved in the initial planning of this EPIC, my former TL was an the Java guy. Now during this the company decides that me and my TL were needed for a side project, so both of us got "pulled out" of the team and move there but we've also had to "manage" the team at the same time. In the end it's decided that since my TL will leave and I will take leadership of the team, I get "released" from the side project to manage the team. I'm left with about 3 weeks to slam dunk the feature.. but, I'm not a great leader for my team nor do I have the knowledge to help me teammate into fixing this Java MS, I do go about the normal schedule about asking him in the daily what is he working on and if he needs any help, but I don't really get into much details as I'm neither too much in sync with the feature nor with the technical part of Java. And here we are now in the last week, I've had several calls with PSO from the clients trying to push me into giving them a deadline on when will it be fixed that it's very important for the client to get this working in the next release and so on, however I do not hold an answer to that. I've been trying to explain to them that this was flagged as a risk and I can't guarantee them anything but that didn't seem to make them any happier. On the other side I feel like this team member has been slacking it a lot, his work this week would barely sum up a couple of hours from my point of view as I've asked him to push the branch he's been working on and checked his code changes. I'm a bit anxious to confront him however as I feel I haven't been on top of his situation either, not saying I was uninvolved but I definetly could have been a better manager for him and go into more details about his daily work and so on.
All in all there has been mistakes on all levels(maybe not on PSO as they can't really be held accountable for R&D inability to deliver stuff, but they should be a little more understandable at the very least) and it got us into a shitty situation which stresses me out and makes me feel like I've started my new position with a wrong step.
I'm just wondering if anyone has been in similar situations and has any tips or words of wisdom to share. Or how do you guys feel about the whole situation, am I just over stressing it? Did I get a good analysis, was there anything I could have done better? I'm open for any kind of feedback.2 -
One of my favourite rant is this one:
https://devrant.com/rants/667491/...
Today I found out some other assholes doing the exact same thing.
But this time their company name was not int the profile but the answer time was unbelievably fast. So did a google search and from LinkedIn, in that they work in the same company. Flagged the question waiting it be removed.
Question Link: https://stackoverflow.com/questions...3 -
My most recent side project is meant to be a lighthearted thing with a dynamic subdomain where anyone can type [whatever-subdomain-they-want].is.obviously.best or [whatever-subdomain-they-want].are.obviously.best or [whatever-subdomain-they-want].is.not.obviously.best or [whatever-subdomain-they-want].are.not.obviously.best.
I have a list of political terms and people that route to an HTML page that says “[subdomain] has been flagged as political. The creator of this site intended this domain to be used to spread joy and merriment and feels that pushing political agendas undermines that intent.”
I have sentiment analysis in combination with a disallow list on is/are (positive, rather than is.not and are.not) routes that if the subdomain is flagged as negative by sentiment analysis or matches a term in the disallow list, it serves an HTML page that says “[subdomain] is/are NOT obviously best. What the hell is your problem?”
Sentiment analysis only goes so far and it’s hard for it to catch a lot of things (since it’s a small amount of input) and I’m not confident that I’ll think of all of the possible things that really shouldn’t resolve to is/are OBVIOUSLY best.
Is there anything you guys can think of that should be on the disallow list?
If it helps, the disallow list so far is https://raw.githubusercontent.com/A...16 -
1. Working with GitHub for a school project (teachers need to check my code there)

I made a wordpress website to one of my friends long time back as he wants to teach online and sell his videos. (he is studying MBBS)
Yesterday suddenly he calls me and says our site has been compromised and its not longer secure.
Me: After seeing screenshot, no actually site doesn't have ssl and in recent chrome updates http site is being flagged.
He: Okay, I saw video on youtube how to buy ssl.
Me: its not just installing the certs, all the links and images has to be on https so it will take sometime for me.
He: Today, Website is no longer opening please help after putting ssl as per the video...
Me: What the hell? Who asked you to do that? Are you nuts?
He:................. Sorry, 😐2 -
Every time I decide to reset my working environment I get last minute requests flagged with the highest importance.
I swear it's a God damn conspiracy. -
So, a requirement is flagged in Altassian and I took that requirement.
Code Review done and committed in dev branch, and later to release branch.
After 3 weeks, QA raises a defect.
Turns out, BA has updated the requirement but didn't inform anyone.(Was updated after the code was merged in release branch).
QA took the latest version, raised a defect with high priority.
On confronting BA, he casually comments they'll update when required. It's the dev's responsibility to check the JIRA.
TL;DR; Its the dev who should check and update the code after commiting in release branch, even if Altassian gets updated 3 weeks later from release. -_-. -
My pyinstaller app got flagged as malware... Now I'll have to make a self extracting python launcher in C# to get the project forwards...3

Ok. I GIVE UP! ...for at least a couple hours...
I'm not a big believer in... well anything suitable to the literal definition of believe. But there's only so much 'wtf? How is this even possible?' and any answer u can come up with is nearly statistically impossible...
I am a neuro-atypical (and just extremely atypical even if i somehkw was neurotypical) being, based on logic, finely calculated statistical probability and the most raw data and as unbiased as realistically possible, algorithms and interpretation (usually recursive pattern recognition with several highly detailed historical sources.
...but at some point statistical improbability and a collation of separate, yet relatively closely occuring events/circumstances makes logic, itself a primary suspect of corruption.
What was the breaking point that caused me to (temporarily) give up and tell logic to f off for a bit cuz maybe the illogical and mythical is the real logic, leaving me in a losing battle with 'the' fates?
Trying to get all my sourcing/purchase orders in/paid for/on the literal boats b4 end of the workday/week in china...
1st, had to drop a supplier cuz they have limited reps. When the one ive had 7+ years left, i got the aloof blonde girl societal trope of a rep... who for the 2nd time (despite the several very blunt complaints above her, incl me) she sent out a promotional update to the entire client list (ie, inherently competitors) as CC not BCC... over 200 business email accounts with tailored info of their sourcing.
2- totally diff company/ industry a former rep i was glad be rid of apparently just sfarted back for "awhile" as i needrf to restock/scale...apparently she forgot everything we discussed at length... lke if you want a chance on my business im not gonna be wasting time looking through your gui "mini store to then inquire about everything individually insead of a simple spreadsheet(which i print and put in a 3-ring binder rotating current catalogues in the same format i require everywhere)
3.dog was an ahole, my packed schedule got delayed and morphed.. a bunch of little bs thatd normally have no extra thought impact, hyperfocused forgetting one of my alarms til i realised my idiopathic fever was back and i didnt take/apply meds (pain/muscle relaxers mainly so despite this odd free time and needing to shower. I gotta sit on my rear, leg elevated/non-productive far 40min b4 i can shower (as functional legs and lack of syncope is almost a req to shower)
4. A new-ish rep of a company/factory i like/respect enough to not mention in relation... he makes invoice 1.. slight error thst was easily resolved...#2 was flawless... he goes to officially generate the contract(alibaba... verrrry simple with lots of extra explanation buttons). Price and all items match, its near workweek end so i was waiting for it so i could quickly pay/have it on the boat b4 it left and few fdav days are behind...
I put in card info, get to the 2 cbeck boxes (imo should be only 1 but whatever) asking if billing address is same ss delivery(its always default yes)... then i see a few lines in chinese (i can read enough for business negotiations... typical words/sentences innately look different than things like individual letters/address and postal indicators.) After a few loops of double checking, mentally trying to dismiss my i Intial judgement cuz it'd be too ridiculous... even resorted to google .... nope... initial wtf was spot on... recipient name/address was indeed the company(multi factory producer)i was purchasing a wholesale, via sea freight, bulk of products from.
Im pretty sure the system would've flagged it as an invalid contract within an hr... but seriously... ive been handling alibaba (and other) international sourcing since before high school(mainly small businesses i made sites/little tools for that found anything with a light up screen intimidating) and a purchase then shipment to the originating company/factory actually entered into a contract(the form is sooo simple)... im faced with ridiculously improbable obstacles actually existing and changing in such nonsensical statistically improbable ways so often that 1. I wouldn't trust a dr (or most humans) that didnt 1st assume i was crazy of some form...unfortunately im not, despite hkw much simpler and probable itd be 2. Id be super suspicious/converned if statistic norms were my norm for over a day.
But seriously wtf???
Someone give me some wisps of a frame of ref here... where's a typical 'fuck this, im out!' Breaking point?1 -
It gets flagged as "Android/SpyAgent", i guess they are not wrong hahaha
https://r2.community.samsung.com/t5... -
That lovely moment, when I have to spend an hour on mail delivery issue, only to find out the message was flagged as spam due to a faulty dns blacklist.
Though the way it got flagged is idiotic and funny at the same time, too.
The blacklist domain got parked, dunno why, and of course, all of the dns queries thus got redirected to a different dns server that just returned the A records of the dns park owners.
Guess what that causes when you use that blacklist? Every single email gets flagged, including that one of ours that I had to debug.
Fml, an hour of overtime for a stupid malfunctioning blacklist... -
Fuck spam, email harvesters and fuck moderators too.
I got tired of getting spam in my email inbox from an email address that I published on my website.
The bots and email harvesters were scraping / harvesting my email address from my website and sending me tons of unwanted spam.
I decided to create a free tool to protect peoples email address behind a form captcha so that it knows the person reading it, is indeed human and not a bot or spammer.
Decided to post to reddit to get the word out and the post gets flagged. Really? What gives?
Its a free tool to stop spam for chrikes sake. I am not trying to make money.
Anyhoo wiill post the link here. Hope you guys and gaals are more friendly and will share the link.
the link is Veilmail.io ( can someone post the link please)

Fucking shitty agencies promoting their marketing solutions. Oh, you can make a shitty WordPress landing page with SEO plugin and launch some ads, just for 500€? Fuck you, and fuck you for not telling your customers how little support you provide, how shitty devs you employ, and how little work you actually do. And royally fuck you for telling customers how everyone else is too expensive for doing a proper job, only to have them come crying for help after your bullshit gets hacked and all your marketing solutions get flagged for spam.2

Followup to https://devrant.com/rants/995994/...
It looks like the actual compiled program is in source because my antivirus flagged it as malicious.1 -
Maybe I am picky, but:
Some people made a "FileStorage" API where in the open method you have flags like READ, WRITE, APPEND... And they made it like when you check WRITE the API opens/overwites to an empty file.
And when someon made a github Issue about this behaviour, they flagged it as a feature request. I'm so anoyed by not being able to overwite my data, thats just rude. Like should I use an file storage API to overwrite data like this:
0- Save file inner structure (you can't extract it from the API)
1- Open the file, parse the structure
2- Find file to overwrite
3- Save all the mess again
4- write your own API
5- sigh4 -
Disclaimer: I love open source and I adore the owasp for what they do.
BUT owasp zap has to be the most overly complicated, badly documented tool in existence. As long as one stays within its most basic functions everything is fine, setting it up as a proxy and even issuing a root cert for our test devices worked wonderfully simple.
Then I made the mistake to try to actually do anything with the data we pulled and had to dive into the scripting console.
The documentation basically consists only of "This thing exists", it provides a msg object with no information what it contains or how it's structured, has no code completion and, here comes the kicker, if the script is run and has an error it gets flagged and can't be reenabled after the error is fixed. So I'm currently at forwarder48.groovy trying to simply store the request on a database for possible diagnostics.
So right now I already know that I'll spend most of my vacation next week trying to decipher the source, document it, fix that damn "flagged as error" bullshit and jump through a billion hoops trying to get a pull request through.2
