Spent nearly a day to get this tiny laptop-tablet to work.
I got myself a second hand Asus T100TAF but Linux compatibility was far to be found. Online resources said I'd be very lucky if I'd even get the touchscreen or the WiFi to work.
I've been installing distro's all day and I finally have a working version!
Lubuntu with Budgie as desktop environment. Touchscreen works out of the box and some random person on the Linux mint forum linked to a github thing. Lost all hope already but this made the fucking WiFi work.
Can dock and undock it and it works great.

My laptop had a full meltdown and wouldn't turn on. It tried to start up then the screen went blank. It's happened before so I lost hope pretty quick.
Just spent the whole evening trying to fix it reinstalling windows and now I spot the problem. The HDMI is plugged in to a monitor that was off. My laptop was fine the whole time. Fml3 -

I have made decision to have a digital detox. Today I did have another bout of depression accompanied with a mild case of confused state of mind and suicidal thoughts. I have found the triggers(Social media and too much time spent on the internet.) I have lost a lot of weight too. From 68KG -> 46 KG in span of weeks. So I hope I will catch you soon after I recover from it.
Fuck depression. If anyone is having bouts of depression please contact your health-care provider or friends/family.

I was bored so I scanned through Dev.to and Medium. I lost the remnants of the little hope I had left for mankind...
JS this, Python that, JS that... and so much other mindless articles of exactly zero substance and headlines to make any self-respecting dev cringe for days.
I meant to write something else, too, but I'm too saddened now. I no longer wonder why so many of the fresher self-made "devs" are so idiotic of a breed...35 -
That moment when you receive an email saying
"I got an error message that's says 'All hope is lost, delete everything'. Is this normal?"
and you have to explain that was an old printf that you put there for debugging purposes and forgot to remove it before committing...2 -
I did some grave and irreversible mistakes in my life
- Never gathered enough courage to mingle with women when I was younger and now the hope is lost
- Compromised my values and mental wellness when I met a narcissistic bitch
- Did not invest money wisely when markets were sailing low and allowed that good sum to sit in bank
- Did not plan health and term insurance at early age when premiums could have been low
- Out of fear, did not follow my gut to purchase gold because my father was acting crazy (or else my money would have been doubled)
- Did not plan my taxation well (or until now would have paid almost zero tax)
- Did not define strict boundaries and allowed people to overstep (or else I would have better friends and family relationships)
- Did not quit my job early and stuck with low paying shit with negative learning, for years (or else I would have grown exponentially)
Thankfully few things I did right are, spending more time with my mom and learning from my mistakes.
I hope I don't make such stupid life choices again.15 -
Happened last semester, due to lack of admin rights to us students on our computer in OS Lab, a friend wasn't able to start a program. So the OS teacher came and instructed the lab helper to install more RAM on the computer, so that programs cam run without admin access.
We lost all hope of ever understanding OS in class.7 -

First thing he does is ranting at my windows, after which he rants at his Mac, and then launches vim and tells me about how he only uses Linux, and how C+ is the only real programming language, and that maybe Python could be accepted as one too. Sales was about to close what I thought was supposed to be a basic WordPress project with a pretty steep delivery time (two weeks). I thought to myself: "well, ok. It's going to be rough for us to fit it into our existing schedule, but I guess the budget (unusually high) compensates." After I say OK, I find out that they were actually about to sign a FE application that takes data from various document management applications. I lost my shit. I hope there's a special place in hell for sales reps that don't get the specs before accepting projects.2

I lost my grandfather, I got a nice dev job and God I miss ranting here. I finally published my side project and all I have to say is
AWS is a b*tch! But beautiful at the same time, had to learn a lot the old way (trial and error).
I don't have any anime pictures as I've changed phones recently but I find this picture just as awesome.

- Got an informal interview a few days ago: Got me super happy.
- Another 2 recruiters on LinkedIn showed interest: Made me happy.
- Psychometric & technical tests popped today: Feel like failed them completely.
- 2 more career days coming up: Not all hope is lost.
- Lack of portofolio and job experience: Brain is stuck and emotionally being meh. Maybe I wasn't meant to be a dev. :-/

So I go for a run for the first time, well, ever. I put my keychain in my pocket and I'm off with my headphones on. Come back home I FUCKING LOST MY WHOLE KEYCHAIN. Key to my house, my apartment, the garage remote, .. fucking dogshit man. Tried to track it down by going down the same path twice but no luck so now my only hope is the police but what are the odds :/3 -

We've updated our website to have X feature. The X feature was implemented, tested and even had unit tests... The worst part when I've lost hope? Both unit and the actual code had the same mistake in them. What was the mistake? Well...

Funny enough, few users were harmed but no actual reports of an issue came to us.

tomorrow is finally the last day of a 2.5yr odyssey at the worst client project ever in my 20yr work life. I have the feeling that I have lost at least 10 years of my life there. I suffered from immense boreout, followed by a burnout and I will take 6 month off now in hope to recover from that.2

Have you ever hit a wall? Like you know what you want to do, you know how to do it but it will not work for absolutely no reason you can see? I've spent the better part of 5 hours trying to add an image upload to my node app and have nothing to show for it. I've tried multiple packages to no avail. I've deleted everything and started over so many times I've lost track. The only thing I can think of doing now is bashing my head off the keyboard and hope that spews out some magical code that will fix my problem.5

Within one day I basically lost interest in everything I do. I just don't see the point of all this anymore.

Looking forward to trying out ChromeOS for a while.
I like the idea of a minimal OS. Frankly while Windows, macOS and Linux are all incredible bits of engineering, they all suck ass and are maddeningly frustrating.
Usually I'm on a computer to complete a task and just want the OS to quietly do its job and leave me out of its myriad personal crises. I don't want to see or hear from that fucker.
If experience tells me anything it's that I'll be swearing at the Chromebook within the week.
But, the fact I'm trying shows I haven't lost hope.5 -

So I was able to redo a browser extension project to fit my needs for my browser proxy project, however for some reason, the original source code doesn't seem to know the Setup class for the setup page. Webpack is not the issue but it seems it can't find the exported class, which makes the browser extension unusable. I hope you can help with my silly screwup.

I just wanted to transfer my domain from domain operator dns to other dns provider.
Now I lost control over my domain and it redirects to those fuckers website.
I thought fuck them, this is their last fuck up so decided to transfer domains from this piece of shit provider to any other.
It turned out you need to send request using post office or visit their office by yourself to get EEC (authinfo) code
Their office is 300km away but cause it’s fucking faster and more reliable then waiting a month for their mail with fucking numbers I will go and do it next week.
Let the fucking hell begin.
