Well, Fuck you22
Hats off for Microsoft.
After recent updates we are now able to install Windows 10 without ever being promoted to log into a Microsoft account. I was even able to uninstall OneDrive like any other application.
Small steps into the good direction.10
Conversation with Microsoft support I had after 1 hour:
“You’ll need to wait for 15 minutes”
“By the way did you know you have 5GB free OneDrive storage with a Microsoft account?”
“I’m a customer of a 1TB onedrive plan”
“Well if you’re interested in using it, you’ve got 5GB for free” 🤦♂️😔20
google drive, dropbox, onedrive and GITHUB (😞) blocked for political reasons in Turkey...
Little thought for the dev's out there and every people that uses those services for work19
So my IT department at school accused a student (referring to him as MR) I know of taking down the Wi-Fi network.
MR, who I see at student tech support every once in a while, has zero fucking advanced technical knowledge. They thought he took down the network from his PHONE.
The FBI was even getting involved investigating him. 90% of the kids in this school can't even troubleshoot OneDrive, so I find it INCREDIBLY hard to believe a student here did anything.
THE FUCK AM I WITNESSING?19
Project Cortana: Day 1
I have seen a lot of people switching to Linux or other services to get away from all the data collections. It makes a lot of sense as no one would want their data to be sold without their consent.
But I am going to do something different. My aim is to integrate with Microsoft apps as much as possible and review the experience. So here is what I have done so far:
* Use Cortana in desktop and mobile (Android)
* Use Microsoft launcher in mobile
* Outlook as primary email provider (I was already using them as my default provider)
* Use Microsoft To-Do and calendar to keep track of things
* Use OneDrive to store all my files (I am moving them from Google Drive)
* Use the default Mail app on the Windows 10
* Use Onenote (I was using Evernote before)
* Use Edge on desktop and Mobile
* Use Skype instead of Hangouts
It's day one but I think I have already found it quite useful. For example:
* Adding reminder is much easier. I get them on both desktop and mobile which is nice.
* Mail app has been really useful. Especially the focused inbox really helps to get rid of the clutters. Also, I can immediately add a mail to the calendar (like Inbox by Google) which is really helpful.
* One of the features of edge that I have found really useful is that you can send web pages from mobile to desktop in one tap. That is extremely useful.
So far I am loving it.
Also, I tried to make sure that I am not sharing my data with third-party apps as I have turned off "relevant ads" feature.54
Working on a project where the coordinator is insisting on using OneDrive. Lost the link he sent out in an email so decided to:
- Google "OneDrive": Eventually brought me to "office.live.com/...." with a view of my settings and apps ... no OneDrive.
- Spent a while using a bit of logic to click around and find it, forgot logic doesn't work well with MS products and ended up on Outlook instead.
- Spent a while searching for the original email with the link, found it, brings me to "...sharepoint.com/....".
- Inside sharepoint (OneDrive?) the banner says "Office 365".
- But the browser tab says OneDrive.
Are Microsoft just afraid of consistency at this point? I mean seriously, pick a name and use it everywhere. Why is that so hard? why is that so complicated?6
Project Cortana: Day 56
*What I liked*
Here is the rant where I described the project: https://devrant.io/rants/962190
Time for a review. The biggest advantage I have found was the productivity. Let me explain:
1. Cortana: It's useful as fuck if anyone is willing to use it all the time. It really helps to get reminders and notifications everywhere (PC, Laptop and Mobile).
2. Microsoft Launcher: An underrated gem due to the hate towards M$. Thanks to it's transparent theme, it looks absolutely gorgeous. The most useful part is the "Feed" where you get all your emails, recently edited documents, recently used apps or contacts all together. I was quite surprised to see the level of customization if offered considering it's M$.
3. M$ Office: I probably don't need to talk much about it, it's the most productive tool you can get. Outlook is fucking brilliant on mobile. Other office apps, while they are great on mobile, are probably more useful in tablets. And the "Focused Inbox" is the best thing happened to outlook.
4. M$ To-Do: Holy fuck, this is sick. I know that there is many alternative with more features. But this app is the perfect example of a todo app. Simple, has the exact right features and has a really smooth, beautiful UI. This really helped me to be productive.
5. OneDrive: Didn't find much difference compared to Google Drive.
6. People: Something that I discovered later and found it really useful. You can pin contacts in the taskbar and see emails, calender items associated with that contact in one click. Found it really useful considering I was chatting with my Supervisor and lectures quite frequently.
7. Windows Mail App: While I really like it, I have mixed feeling about it. I would really love to have HTML signature. Not sure why M$ is not implementing it. But the "Share" in the Context Menu is really useful while sending attachements.
Finally, the "Fluid Design" so far is beautiful. Loving the effects.
I will write what I didn't like in the next rant.16
tldr: My school created 1000 Microsoft and Google accounts without our permission and we can't even use the services they provide.
A few days ago I ranted about our schools IT department blocking all outgoing ports.
A few days ago we also got Enterprise OneDrive accounts to store all our stuff, sound wonderful in theory.
The thing is OneDrive doesn't work without outgoing ports either...
So our School created both Microsoft and Google accounts in our names. This is against the law. You can't just register 1000 Google and Microsoft accounts in some else's name, like bruh wtf.16
wtf... it seems OneDrive has downgraded my free 100GB storage.... I thought that was supposed to be locked in for life..... :(
O wellz... yes that's 2TB free though the servers are in China...35
Who the fuck came up with the idea of using SharePoint? What it even is?! Is it a website, wiki, document repo...?
Our version seems to be a broken wiki with no info content, old links, illogical navigation. And somehow word documents are integrated into it. Sometimes you see some weird calendar and timelines (from old projects). You can navigate into a folder, but you cannot get back. There's no ".." button?? You can map it like OneDrive to yourself, but Windows doesn't support any document version control. Where's the check in/out option from explorer menu??? I sure as shit have those for SVN, GIT etc. Is there a new version created everytime I press ctrl-s or only when I close the document?
Well, I could open the document in "online" mode. Ok, the formatting goes weird and everything is super slow. But at least I can fuck up someone elses document by accidentaly copy/pasting stuff, deleting lines, hitting my face into keyboard etc. There's automatically new version added!
Somehow you can enable the forced check in/out for documents. Obviously only the library admin can do that. And since he's just a program manager, he has no clue what the fuck is version control or document management. So he has this thing on his "things to do" list. For him, document management means sending various spec versions as email attachments. And the developers can figure out together who has the most recent one.
How did M$ push shit piece of shit to corporations? They even use this crap for the intranet making it slower than creation of galaxies. Though it's ok, since you cannot find anything from the intranet. It's all just head honchos blogs, seasonal greetings and stock market statuses. Nowhere is seen the downstairs cafeteria menu for the day. Or where to report for broken toilet. You know, stuff that 99% of people would like to see.
I complained to M$ about the SharePoint, but apparently there's no problem. You can code it yourself? Yeiii! So, instead of just updating some line in design spec, I have to take a 3 month class and get a MS sertificate, code some class-based-web-shit for 6 months and maybe, maybe then I can make the page/document look normal?
I am thinking, that I will just start writing my specs on paper. I will put them on the shelf and if you want to read it, you will check it out manually. And if someone else tries to edit it while you are editing it, you just cover the paper with your hands. There might be a requirement to make the document look more like MS Word, but that's easy to do. Just go to WC with the paper and wipe with it a couple of times.10
fuck you whatapp for not formatting the links properly and not displaying the entire links
I lost my referral bonus due to this 😥
*It did displayed it properly on the WhatsApp web version but it fucked up on the phone version*
see for yourself people,9
Just got a warning email from OneDrive saying my account would be frozen soon because I had used 28.1Gb of my alotted 5Gb...
Erm... First off, I do not use OneDrive. I use Google Drive and JottaCloud. I have actively tried to get RID of OneDrive in Win10, with all those damn notifications all the time.
Secondly, I guess it's nice that if you DO use OD and hit the limit, they don't just cut you off instantly. But nearly 500% overuse seems a little late to react, no?
So I logged in and looked around to find out what the hell was in there. Turns out, MS had decided to upload my entire images folder. I did not ask them to do that. Deleted them, but will have to check the damn OD service when I get home so I can KILL IT!
And I am going to have (yet another) talk with MS support as well, I think...7
It feels SO good to have nothing to lose on your system! Code on GitHub, pictures on an external disk, documents on Google Drive and OneDrive and bookmarks etc. on my Google Account. If my PC were to crash completely then I wouldn't be as lost as I'd normally be :D3
Synchronizing my OneDrive account with my Linux desktop. Not only did I apparently store a uni project on fucking OneDrive instead of using git (in my defense, it was 2 years ago), but I didn't even exclude the node_modules folder!!6
OneDrive: where we duplicate your files instead of synchronizing them correctly because fuck that.5
Dear Micro$oft... Stop with your fucking ads in your paid operating system.
I want to check the weather, not get asked to download a news app, if free operating systems can not include ads why must windows...
Also cleared a notification recommended i buy onedrive because i installed dropbox -.-4
So yesterday there was an interesting news story in my country. A man was fined for posession of two pictures containing pornographic depictions of children.
Now that's all great. The interesting part, however, is how the man was caught.
A tip was given from foreign agencies to the law enforcement of my country that the man was storing the pictures on his OneDrive. Not sharing them or anything, simply storing them there.
How the FUCK did the know? Do they monitor everything you put in a fucking private cloud repository? I've never used OneDrive, and now I'll make sure to never use it in the future. Fucking spyware.8
I generally don't whine about Windows...
So, I shut my computer down last night, I thought. But no. A rare OneDrive prompt prevented the shutdown. I don't use OneDrive. I've even tried to remove it, but it just keeps popping up.
Other programs stopped just fine though, such as my firewall.2
company has Google drive, OneDrive, DropBox accounts, and yet 90% of important documents are distributed via email...2
OneDrive just "updated" my Excel file with a newer version of another user. The other user was also me and the updated version is the same document but 2 hours ago. All the changes are lost and the version history doesn't list my actual version. Thanks OneDrive!1
I use onedrive for sharing some files and shit. So one day one of my folders, which I got from a downloaded zip, caused an error "files couldn't be synced because of unallowed character in the title".
Turns out there was a space at the end of the folder title. I change the name, I get some error.
"Okay, no problem, I don't need that folder anymore anyway" So I delete it, doesn't work, the error message reads "Can't delete folder because it no longer exists.". "What the hell" try deleting it some more. Emptying it before deleting. Deleting the parent folder. I try formatting it before deleting. Nothing works.
Deleting from the online onedrive client causes it to briefly disappears but refreshing places it back right where it came from.
So I resort to my last hope, customer support.
I explain the whole thing.
I get a reply. Oh boy.
I get explained that if the recycle bin is full, the file will be placed back.
After that, I get an explanation on how to remove a file xD
Thanks OneDrive Team, really helpful.6
Last Week Friday:
PM: We'll be taking you off the one project on to another, we'll send the details later.
PM: Ok cool, so you'll be looking at a script that one of our Pillar heads has scripted. You need to make sure it works and that it can run on the server.
Me: *I always thought this guy was useless now i get to see what he can do* Cool, just send the documentation and i'll take a look at it over the weekend. Just tell me when you've sent it.
Project Head: I'll inform you when i send the files and how to run them.
Me: *I know how to set up a database locally, i'm not an idiot* Cool.
Whole Weekend I don't get a single message.
Project Head(PH): Have you taken a look at it yet?
Me: Taken a look at what?
PH: The Database and the Script
Me: i didn't get any message over the weekend.
PH: I sent it yesterday, it should be in your inbox.
Me: There's Nothing. Sending anything on a Sunday is expecting me not to see it, especially at 10pm. Besides i can't retrieve any of the files in the attachment(Outlook tripping), rather send it in a zip file or upload it to onedrive.
PH sends the link. I get the files, set up the DB, glance at the script.
Me: This is actually interesting.
PH: You know what it does?
Me: My SQL knowledge is below average but i can read and understand it pretty well. So your dynamically copying the database from the server to the warehouse, cool.
It's not going to work though.
PH: Check first.
I check it
Me: Doesn't work, but it sort of works.
PH: What do you mean?
Me: Some tables are populated but some aren't,, how and there's a shit tone of errors.
PH: So i does copy the data over.
Me: Some of the data.
PH: test it on the Server
Me: Not a good idea.
PH: Just try it.
PM: In the mean time i'll send you some documentation i need you to review and edit.
Me: *Idiots* Cool.
Me: Have you checked it on the server yet?
PH: Not yet, busy.
Me: Where's the documentation again?
PM: I'll send it it a moment.
Me: In the mean time i'll write some script to fix that script that's definitely not going to work.
Boss: I heard you done with the script
Me: It's not done, but we'll be testing it on the server later.
Boss: Then why are you running it on the server?
Me: Ask the PH and PM.
Boss: What are you doing now?
Me: Well i'm supposed to do documentation *looks at PM* but i haven't recieved any yet, so I've been writing a script to fix the copy script.
PH: Ok we'll test when the boss leaves, after all the meetings.
PM: here's the documentation.
I start on documentation.
PH: It didn't work.
Me: I know.
PH: Fix it.
PM: What you doing?
Me: Fixing the script,
PM: Do the documentation first
End of the day:
PH: Why you doing the documentation? The script has highest priority.
Me: Ask the PM.
Boss: can we talk.
Boss: I though you said the script was done?
Me: i said it sort of works, just doesn't do the job 100%.
Boss: Monday i was told it's done.
Me: i only looked through it Monday to understand it, i done nothing before Tuesday. though i have been trying to create a script to fix it.
Boss: Your working really slow hey.
Me: *It's been a week, and stupid people are in charge* I was doing what i was told.
Boss: Cool.(His Upset)
Stupid FUCKEN people, make stupid FUCKEN decisions. But Hey, the boss only see's the final result. I am a human being, even i make mistakes. But there's a huge gap between stupidity and a mistake.
Why OneDrive is so slow?
It took almost an hour to load the whole page of 1.2 GB of photos.
Yes, my internet connection was stable that time. Thank you.
Just spent over 5 hours trying to figure out Microsoft’s OneDrive REST api. Basically my first time trying to do POSTs n’ stuff. I got very very close, but the server kept throwing 400 error codes. Eventually I had to give up and ask Stack Overflow. Going to bed now at 2:20am. No worse feeling then not being able to solve a problem you’re dedicated on solving. :/4
Dual-booted Gaming Computer: A Saga of Frustration, Alcoholism*, and Relief
So a while back my gaming computer was booting Antergos Linux and Windows 10. It took me a few months, but I finally became fed up with Windows 10's bullshit of putting ads in the OS (Suggested Apps, OneDrive, etc.) and reinstating all of their defaults after an upgrade (Edge, privacy settings, the People Button in 1709).
So, I backed up my data and installed Windows 7. Windows 7 has a bright, consistent look, and in my opinion still holds up as a good operating system.
However, I couldn't boot into Antergos after that. For whatever reason, no matter how hard I tried, I just wasn't able to. So, I decided to reinstall. Might as well, anyway.
Now, I have an nVidia card, which does not play well with the OSS drivers, so it's basically normal for me to have to unplug my card and use the on-board graphics. So I do that and boot into the LiveUSB, do the install, boot into the desktop, install the nVidia drivers package, shut down.
I reinstall the card, turn the computer on... and nothing. Just a black screen with a flashing underline. I can't even get into a TTY session.
I ended up trying a few other distributions--Gecko Linux, Arch Labs, Manjaro--but all had the same issue. I was about to give up, but decided to try Antergos one more time, but with the newest install media.
And it worked! I was so freaking happy! I can finally play my Linux games again!1
I hate box.com
I hate OneDrive (although out of the box encryption is sweet)
I hate Dropbox!
Fuck you Google!
Nobody trust mega (fuck you Kim)
What to do?
I need storage! Online, secure and gimme those protocols!
I want to edit my documents (don't care about powerpoint tho) online too!13
Just made some backup software with python to backup folders to Google Drive. I found all other backup solutions were paid or had to be uploaded to their servers, not to any free cloud storage like OneDrive. I also wanted it to be automated and run on a set schedule. I just need to make a GUI and add support for OneDrive and Dropbox!9
!rant People like to give Windows a lot of shit (me too!) but at the end of the day I still haven't found a cleaner, smoother and more reliable OS.
For what it's worth, Windows is really quite a lovely experience when moved from the horrid white theme to the dark one, and when set up with the latest drivers. Dell's SupportAssist means I literally, *literally*, get one-click installation of all missing and new drivers for my XPS laptop. Telemetary, Cortana and other annoying stuff like OneDrive integration can be completely disabeld via ShutUp10 and with the right chipset drivers and good hardware, programs take seconds to install.
Compatibiltiy is the most important thing to me. On Windows everything just generally works. I spend a fraction of the time debugging on Windows as what I do on Linux. No need to create a runtime script to fix screen-tearing, no need to install missing fonts, search for missing divers manually and create runtime scripts for them. No need for shit like Wine (though I really appreciate Wine and the team behind it). Also as much as I really like the various Software Centers on Linux, they're full of outdated versions of the software they provide and the Snap store is missing a LOT of software... I already spend enough time on Stackoverflow for Python and C#, having to dig through it just to use my OS is kind of ridiculous...
Linux really only gives me two things that I really wish Windows had. 1) The ability to disable my Intel graphcis chip and force everything to use my Nvidia GTX card. 2) Security.
On Windows I get 4x better battery life at minimum even after disabling my Nvidia GPU, messing around with laptop-mode-tools and powertop on Linux. Application GUIs aren't all broken and I'm not getting system-wide freezes after coming out of suspend and my Bluetooth isn't getting soft-locked and suffering from underruns sending my amplifier cracks and pops at max fucking volume either.
Linux is so much better than it was 3 years ago when I gave it a huge shot on my last laptop. Especially now that we don't need that god awful bumblebee any more. Though the community seems more divided than ever with more distros popping up all the time and many just being dropped (RIP Antergos). I guess when it comes to Linux people always want different things and coordinating such a huge project (and for free) is really difficult, which is why small groups just band together to make their own distro.
2020 will still be the year of the Linux machine in my opinion. Windows has dropped the ball too hard on too many things and ramming telemetary down people's throats is not something anyone appreciates. I mean really, all that telemetary and they still managed to pull that crazy stunt with Windows 8 removing the start menu and creating this monstrosity that is the settings panel on Windows 10, vs the clean old Control Panel that I miss. Windows has made too many bad moves with their tiled interface, ridiculous Windows store push, bad update management and even going as far as baking advertising into the OS. People are getting sick their shit and for good reason.
Linux on the other hand hasn't made any bad moves, nor will they probably ever. Instead they're just that really slow but steady turtle that's getting closer and closer to the universally better OS choice no matter how many billions Microsoft throws behind Windows. What's really lacking is better software support from vendors matched with a distro team that realises we're living in 2020 where you know, 4K screens on a laptop are common and you might actually need to rework you fucking DE so it doesn't look like absolute shit on a HiDPI screen. *This is where Root will tell me she pities anyone that uses a DE.*
Still, if Windows/Nvidia/AMD could just give me the fucking ability to FORCE and I mean FORCE applications to use my dedicated GPU when I tell them to, instead of just fucking randomly deciding to swap back to the integrated Intel one whenever they please, and despite me EXPLICITLY running them on my dedicated GPU AND in fucking PERFORMANCE MODE. That would be great.
In short, Linux is definitely the better choice if you have a laptop and are doing "laptop things" like web browsing, coding and social media and aren't multitasking more than that. Windows as a whole is better as a Desktop solution.
I really look forward to a day when Linux looks way more elgant and plays so much nicer with modern hardware. A day when Windows just cannot compete except to go free and even then people won't trust them because they'll be storing and saving your data left and right and baking ads into everything. #Linuxmajorityby 2025?
Huh, what's that you're saying, "What about MacOS?" What the fuck is that? I've never heard of it. 😉10
I have to use OneDrive to store my data on the clod for security policy (sic!) and I use odt documents.
Word online open odt documents quite good, but sometimes an Investigator appear in table cell data: why the hell?4
1am and I'm waiting for my zipped project to finish uploading to OneDrive, so I can send my prof a link to it, because our fucking intranet just gloriously shat itself again -_-... Because a GitHub link is too mainstream I guess?
Ah yeah, deadline was 1h ago, but who cares about deadlines right?...
Very noob question. I started using git/github for my classes in Python, but I dont see why is it any better than google drive or onedrive, since you can also send multiple archives and have it synced to your computer without having to "push". Why is it so popular and needed?12
When I'm on a typing rage and I hit print screen key accidentally couple of times. "Onedrive saved your screenshot".
Whaat? Weird onedrive/windows feature/ bug..7
Am I the only one to hate Google drive window's client? It Is far slower than OneDrive/Dropbox. If you work inside the drive you could lose shit, If you remove a file window says it can't be removed but after the error message he does it and If you log out the client..It removes the virtual drive with your files on😑😑 what the fuck Google, what the fuck6
Another OneDrive rant? Nope, this one is more aimed at the wifi in the train. Dutch people assemble!3
So I posted a rant a few days ago about what all of us in here might consider to be a bug in the OneDrive iMessage app. Being a good sport, I went ahead and filed in a report for it. Little did I know OneDrive would've hit me with this. *face palm*
Link to the other rant: https://www.devrant.io/rants/4843133
Why can't windows just leave my fucking scrolling settings alone when I update.... And no, I don't want to use onedrive. Ever.
1 of the many windows rants i will make since i have to use that on work's laptop.
20GB for an IDE? what a joke.
Seriously MS. Are you fucking retarded? You have a fuckin retarded windows store, and i need to open it 3 times for it to be functional? Fuck you.
I want to change the default browser. YES I FUCKIN WANT TO CHANGE IT, STOP FUCKIN ASKING ME 500 TIMES IF I'M SURE ABOUT IT AND DO THE THING I TOLD YOU TO DO. Fuck you.
2GB on startup? Thanks, appreciated. Miss my 250MB on my linux laptop. FUCK YOU.
Did i fuckin tell you i want to sync the onedrive? I clicked that shit to disable it and you decided to sync the fuck out of it? Fuck you.
Candy crash and other retarded games? LOL, can't say anything. The laptop is from the job, i won't bother uninstalling that shit. In any case MS would reinstall them again. Fuck you.
Fans at 100% for no reason and battery draining like it's a cold drink that drinks someone who is thirsty? Thanks MS, very helpful. Fuck you.
Powershell? Well i leave that. Whenever i remember how slow it is i want to throw the laptop of the window. Fuck you.
Notifications? Thanks, it's very good thing to spam them for no fucking reason. Fuck you.
Skype? Who the fuck told you to install it? Fuck you.
Well i won't say anything about their fuckin updates. Every one knows how retarded and piece of shit they are.3
Alright, so I've decided to move from Google Drive to MS OneDrive. I guess I was getting bored with GD interface :p2
Update on my OneDrive story from a bit back:
(this first part happened a while ago but I forgot making a post)
So I was still having problems with my OneDrive since the email from customer support didn't help at all. I replied saying that their advice wasn't helpful in any way and that I, as an IT student, am familiar with how to delete files. I got another reply.
But what did this email say?
It basically explained me how to upload files and stuff and how the sync system works and such. One thing that was in there that might have worked was resetting the 'app', the thing is I wasn't using their windows 10 desktop app but something that I got when installing my windows.
Needless to say, I replied again, saying that I had hope in their app solution but that I (as I stated in a previous email) use a different application so it was all useless.
I GOT ANOTHER EMAIL:
It is actually a technical solution (or so it seems). You must be thinking "wow, he finally got trough the shitty first line support" I know right?! and it feels good.
Well, the 'technical' solution is basically uninstalling onedrive trough cmd prompt and then reinstalling it from the website.
The folder remains in the browser client of OneDrive but I'm going to learn to live with it.
At least my sync issue is gone.
That only took like 3 months and ended with a very silly solution that is way too straightforward causing me not to think about it :p
Thanks for the read.1
When I have to upload files to client's server urgently, the internet sucks. The uploading speed is going nitro while I'm uploading my data to OneDrive :-/
Do you guys prefer one cloud storage solution over the others? Dropbox, Google drive, mircosoft onedrive. ✨✨✨11
Idk if It's my luck or something, but as much as I love Microsoft, EVERY fucking thing of it that I use, has bugs.
I report them, they get fixed (eventually)
Visual Studio enterprise taking 2mins+ to report a simple error on debug
That error happens within one of Microsoft's Nuget Packages for OneDrive Enterprise for UWP
Oh and if that wasn't bad enough, my machine is a Surface Book 2 and the cursor still stutters through it all (and on idle half the time)
Am I cursed or something?2
Wanacry didn't touch me yet, my gaming machine is on Windows, I disabled the update service, I haven't restarted it for 2 months now...
Now doing an update, just in case
My laptop is dual booted with antergos, my work files are all on onedrive, so if something happened to my laptop it wouldn't be the worst
Still disabling the update service after the update :P13
all this fucking cloud sync bullshit on mac, iOS, and windows is driving me nuts... would all be fine if it only would work as expected -.-1
I have a question regarding Microsoft onedrive for business
I am not able to sync files shared to me to my desktop using API calls but however we can make that sync from online website using g sync button in the shared with me that.
Plz help I want to make that sync using API1
Someone posted a link to a 30-day-security-challenge here on devRant some time ago and I just thought well, why not try to migrate away from the big companies - I've been using OneDrive as my only cloudstorage since the time when it was called SkyDrive and I've been hosting my Emails at outlook (via Live Custom Domains, a service that does not even exist anymore) for about 8 years now. Since I've always been lazy and since exchange activesync is a great feature if you have multiple calendars and want to sync them and your contacts to several devices I never tried to switch but now I am half done with migrating my data to my own nextcloud installation and my emails to my own mail server - since I don't want to loose the exchange functionality I am also setting up Z-Push and oh boy, this thing is bitching around but my webmail is already nicely integrated into nextcloud, IMAP / SMTP is up, configured and secured (still have to mess around with spamassassin as this email adress is floating around the web for about 10 years now). The only things to do is to get Z-Push work with STARTTLS and the card/caldav backend running and then the basic setup should be done.
I am just wondering if someone could hand me over a guide on how to sign / encrypt emails (GPG?)
I have never ran OneDrive for Business successfully. I am happy there is a somewhat limited web interface.
