I think I've had an account there for 10 years now, and now, every couple of weeks it seems, I get an email from them saying:
"Soon your profile will stop being shown"
So I have to log in, spot that there is no one within 500 miles of me, still, and log out again..
Why make folk log in unnecessarily, its really annoying !
I didn't make all these accounts all over the place, so I would have to register again if I need them, no I just want them to sit ready in case I do.
So, stop closing accounts just because someone is in hospital, prison, travelling the world in 80 days, etc.4 -
I have been thinking about this for years but Brexit has kinda fucked things up. I am thinking of travelling and working, but now I am restricted to 90 days. The reason I have delayed is Brexit for one but my son is approaching 16, so I wanted to wait until he is on University. Let me get to the point, because i’m self employed I just need a computer and broadband, technically I can work anywhere and have always loved the idea of being a digital nomad. I am now thinking of how I can do this for 3 months a year, and how I can do it cheaply so I don’t have to work so much. Life is for living right? I have just watched a youtube video and am thinking wow! I could conceivably do this for 3 months a year. Just wondering about you guys wether it’s something that could really inspire you. Watch the video, it’s about the cheapest countries in Europe to live. and they are beautiful. Long airbnb rentals can be quite cheap. Love to know your thoughts and wether you have considered it or something like. https://youtu.be/-8hWB7spU7I2

So... am travelling to my office's location for a 7 day WFO. It's exciting and pants shitting at the same time!
I had some initial bias around the plan ( Since i love to work remotely and am crazy scared that people meeting me in person are going to know how big of a imposter I am,+ my extreme introvert, difficult to connect with people nature.. all makes me a shitty nerdy fatass),
but some awesome friends and colleagues made me see beyond all these and gave me some boost. And adding to the fact that its a fully paid 7 day WFO setup with 4 star hotel accommodation and whole team is going to be there, I am now crazy excited!
Hope this goes well and i am still in a position to keep my job with the same power that am holding now.
