✨ I created a cli tool that brings my GitHub feed right to my terminal.
It's just a fun idea that I had since I have this habit of checking my github feed every now and then. So made this tool to do it right from my working terminal.
The project is open-sourced in Github

Hell World
So to followup with the enterprise grade goodness, I made a little prototype~
https://github.com/EnterpriseSoftwa...
Not very enterprise like yet, but a fun first 'extension' to writing a proper hello world program.
Ideas
--------
*Things that might make it more business like*
- Lots and lots of abstraction
- Tests ( not very business like but more stuff = better )
- FFI | Shared library, because why not
- Threading / workers
Hardcore:
Design a dedicated language for writing hello world programs that is compiled / interpreted on a simulated custom hello-world-cpu and displays it's content on a simulated screen.
Note
--------
I want to keep the documentation & code normal / actually helpful as a contrast to the concept itself and of course to keep my sanity.24 -
✨ Gave my portfolio a fresh minimal look and feel. Integrated Spotify to show my currently playing track, just a fun little tweak.

🚀 Hi guys, I created a minimal-looking Hackernews client.
It's still not complete yet. But I'm sharing anyway. Feedbacks are welcome ❤
It's live at https://hn-redesign.vercel.app

Recently I launched the minimalistic online drawing app https://okso.app. I wanted it to be a place where people could do fast, ad-hoc, napkin-based-like explanations of any concept as if you are sitting with your friend and trying to explain him/her something during lunch. Don't ask me why it is needed, I was just experimenting.
So, the first concept I've tried to explain with sketches was the Data Structures. Without further ado, here is the interactive ✍🏻 https://okso.app/showcase/... showcase that you may play with.
Of course, not all data structures are covered. And of course, this is not comprehensive material, but rather a cheatsheet that would create visual hints and associations for the following data structures:
- Linked List
- Doubly Linked List
- Queue
- Stack
- Hash Table (with hash collision resolution)
- Tree (including the Binary Search Tree)
- Heap (including Mean Heap and Max Heap)
- Trie
- Graph
Each box on the sketch is clickable, so you may dig into the data structure you're interested. For example `Heap → Max Heap`, or `Heap → Min Heap`, or `Heap → Array Representation`.
The sketches are split into so-called Pages just to make it easier to grasp them, so the users stay focused on one concept at a time, they see the relationship between the concept, and thus, hopefully, they are not getting overwhelmed with seeing a lot of information at the same time on one drawing/page.
Each page has a link to the source-code examples that are implementing the data structure on JavaScript.
The full list you may find in the ✍🏻 https://okso.app/showcase/... showcase.
I hope you find this showcase useful and I hope it will be a good visual cheatsheet-like complement to your data structure knowledge.12 -
I've been a bit "removed" from .NET lately and I've been slowly forgetting about it. It's like I grieved a loss, and now I was moving on, for lack of a better analogy. I was just beginning to get used to my new environment of Node JS and PHP. And, recently, I was put on track to complete a full project using Node JS.
And then suddenly a new company reached out to me, interested in my skills, and asked for me to build a simple .NET web app to showcase my abilities.
I got started, and holy crap I forgot how nice it was to be coding in this environment. Everything I had forgotten about switched on for me, like riding a bike. I was done with the app in a matter of hours. It was probably the most productive I've been with a coding assignment in forever. I was beaming with pride at the fact that I could code so fluently despite some time away. Everything here just made sense to me.
After I submitted it to the company for review I sat back and thought, damn, do I have to go back to Node/Express JS? I barely have any experience with it 😂. The only reason I know anything is because I watched a 20 minute quick tutorial on how to build an API. That's it.
I really want my current company to give me projects that are in my preferred language and they aren't and that's killing me right now. I can learn, that's not a problem, but my effectiveness as an employee is completely shot by not allowing me to build in code that I know and understand. I was fuckin hired for my specific coding experience, why not take advantage of what I know?
I should say something to my manager but I know they will just tell me no because they want it to be built in Javascript as it's the preferred language of the Gods.
Joking aside, I don't think they will go for it because it is another language that they would have to manage and maintain if I ever leave.
Oh well 🤷8 -

I've played around a bit with illustrating the SOLID principles (Single Responsibility, Open/Closed, etc., you know).
You may check it out here: https://okso.app/showcase/solid
Let's see if it will be helpful or more confusing :D14 -
I created Syzer⚡ a cli tool that updates all of your npm dependencies at one go.
Repo: 🚀
https://github.com/RocktimSaikia/...
The reasons behind building this: 📝
1) I personally hate updating my project dependencies manually.
2) There are other similar libraries that do the same thing but I tried one and too much config. I had to specify the package.json file to update it. then what was the point of using that library. So ended up creating one myself.
3) 'npm update' already exists I know but it does not update the package.json file with the latest version tags.
For more info on how the use the tool check it's README instructions. 👋14 -
Hi guys. It's unicorndev again.✨
Yesterday I made a post on a CLI app that brings your Github feed to the terminal. And the response from you guys was very nice. Since that was the initial release there were some minor bugs and issues left. So I just released v1.2.2 with some of these issues fixed ex:
- Filtering out depandabot events.
- Detecting Github user name the right way.
- Adding update notifier for future releases.
If you installed the tool yesterday then please update it to the latest version. Thanks :)

Yesterday at my career progression chat my manager told me that to showcase more seniority I would need to "stop moving the needle by myself and become a multiplier".
So in order to progress I need to change from being a sewing machine to a mathematical operator??!!?!?
Thanks, that's very fucking helpful.17 -
We kinda feel the feature you lead was messy because even though you brought up valid use cases and we decided to postpone the development of those till the next release, the user wanted them and we pressured you to get it done in a couple of days…which lead to a slightly buggy less than perfect release…so yeah, even tho you saved our asses for secretly starting development of those extra use cases beforehand we won’t showcase it as a successful release.

Anything i try in this life, it fails. I have done hundreds, and have 0 successful projects. When someone asks me "what have you done in these 1/4th of a century existing on this useless floating space rock?" ...... I have nothing to say. It would appear as if I've done Nothing. I have nothing to showcase of projects because its not running live on production. It's all on private repositories. The more i try the harder i fail. I am energy drained. I am uninspired. I am unmotivated. Seeing how some 19 year old NOBODY kid just comes out of nowhere, makes NFT project, scams people for millions of dollars and haves fun in his life and doesnt have to work anymore, is fueling me with RAGE. This is starting to become madness. Am i having too high goals and ambitions and that's why i percieve myself as if im unsuccessful? But how is that possible if a 19 year old nobody is capable of becoming a multi millionaire by scamming people in web3? If i lower my goal expectations, then I have no reason to live. I wouldnt care if i die tomorrow or continue living. I wouldnt bother looking left right while crossing the road because I Do Not Care. What must i do to succeed just Once and meet my goals and expectations? I dont understand. I hate life. Life is empty and meaningless. I have became a Nihilist and i believe in that religion more than anything. It makes no sense that someone scams millions by doing jack shit at a young age while someone struggles and tries hard his whole life and still isnt successful even 0.01% of what the 19 year old is. IT. IS. NOT. FAIR.11

hey, so i have recently started learning about node js and express based backend development.
can you suggest some good github repositories that showcase real life backend systems which i can use as inspiration to learn about the tech?
like for eg, i want to create a general case solution for authentication and profile management : a piece of db+api end points + models to :
- authenticate user : login/signup , session expire, o auth 2 based login/signup, multi account login, role based access, forgot password , reset password, otp login , etc
- authorise user : jwt token authentication, ip whitelisting, ssl pinning , cors, certificate based authentication , etc (
- manage user : update user profile, delete user, map services , subscriptions and transactions to user , dynamic meta properties ( which can be added/removed for a single user and not exactly part of main user profile) , etc
followed by deployment and the assoc concepts involved : deployment, clusters, load balancers, sharding ,... etc
----
these are all the buzzwords that i have heard that goes into consideration when designing a secure authentication system for a particular large scale website like linkedin or youtube. am not even sure how many of these concepts would require actual codelines and how many would require something else.
so wanted inspiration from open source content to learn about it in depth, replicate and create new better stuff if possible .
apart from that, other backend architectures like video/images storage system, or just some server for movie, social media, blog website etc would also help.2
