TLDR : I left a company which doesn't understand the concept of email id and passwords.
Me (trying to login to the alumni website) *no register user option*
Customer support - you've to click on forgot password to create an account.
Me - Wonderful
*clicks on reset password*
*enters employee id, name, email, father's name, DOB, date of joining , date of leaving, current city because apparently if I just enter my employee id it is as if they never knew me. Sigh*
*your password will be sent to your email id*
Me - okay. *waits for two weeks because I assumed someone will manually go and create my account and email me, considering the state of system. *
After two weeks,
Me - I still haven't received my password on email after I created my account. Can you please check?
After one week,
Customer support - you need to click on forget password if you forgot your password.
Me - *inventing new curse words* I have not forgot my password, I never received it in the first place!
After one week,
Customer support - yes you'll receive your password on your email id.
Me - *runs out of curse words* seriously dude?
* proceeds to reset password*
System - your password has been reset. Your new password will be sent to your email id. *apparently anyone can reset passwords if you have the employee id, which is an integer*
After a week
Me - Am I going to ever receive the password? I've tried generating passwords, resetting my password. I never get my passwords. What should I do!!
Customer support - yes you need to click on Forgot password.
Me - are you fucking kidding me!!!
You fuckers need to be fired and replaced by a FAQ page which has no question and just a single answer, because a peanut has higher IQ than you. For any questions you may have, just reset password. Goddammit idiots!
Also, which email id are you sending my passwords to?
Customer support - myname@oldcompany.com
Me - you do realize that this is the alumni website for the company. Alumni means ex members.
Being ex members, you can assume we don't have access to our company email ids obviously?
Customer support - yes.
Me - how am I supposed to get the password using my old email id then?
Customer support - you need to click on forgot password option.
I think I should probably move to the Himalayas for my anger management issues. Plus it'll be probably easier to throw idiots off a mountain.31 -
So... A random morning moment:
(c - Cient, m - me)
C: Help!!! Our users are complaining that our website is not working as intended!!! This is crucial!!!!
M: What's the problem? What is not working?
C: EVERYTHING!!!! FIX IT!!!!
M: Could you be more specific...?
C: Look at the bugsnag - it has all the errrors!!!
M: *looks there - no errors* - But... It has no errors...
C: Okay, so client told me he's using Galaxy SII - does that ring a bell?
M: *thinks that I'm fucked* - Asks, which browser?
C: Why do you need it? It's a browser after all...
M: Yeah but not all browsers are the same and I need type and version to investigate...
C: It's Samsung default browser... Last updated 2012 January.
M: Well, tell that user to update the browser, the site is working fine on newer versions...
C: No, you update it.
M: Browser?!
C: Yes, what else?!
M: Of course, I'll fly 3000 kilometres to press UPDATE button on clients phone...
C: Well, he's not doing it himself - he's afraid!
M: Well, that is his problem. Site is working fine for other users with newer browsers.
C: But... He's a client
M: I get it but he's a client that uses 6 years old browser and tries to visit our website. Don't you remember that we ditched IE support on your behalf for the same reason?!
C: Oh... I see... Can you make something that it works with 2005 browsers?
M: Of course... *evil laugh starts* I'll make the website work on EVERY single device EVER - make it plain text.
C: Are you joking?
M: Are you?
----
And since then, we ditched the actual need for supporting users with old browsers that don't update to modern standards... Feels great!12 -
UPDATE: I have my dream job.
About a year ago I commented on Devrant that I was having some hard luck interviewing for development jobs.
Shortly after my post I decided to lower my expectations and took a job at a tech support call center.(3 month contract)
After getting a little experience(Not just a degree) I was able to land a hardware support job at a fortune 500 company.(Not what a programmer really wants 😂)
I worked hard and started writing tools at home to help with the job. I started giving them out to the other techs and put them on a little internal website for easy access.
About 3 months ago I just became a software engineer within the company.(after 6 months of hardware repair.) The main reason I got the job was because I showed them how much overtime and extra work I had done and that the techs relied on my software to do there jobs and that I was dependable.
It was hard work but it was worth it. And I built software that I never would have done if I hadn't taken this "lower job"
So keep your chin up and your fingers on the keys, I was in your shoes a year ago. 😉12 -
It's depressing how true this is
Me: "Tech support, how can I help you?"
Them: " I'm not able to log into the website!"
Me: "Okay, what message is it showing when you try to log in?"
Them: "Sir, I am NOT a computer person so I don't know."
Me: "Do you know which web browser you're using?"
Them: "I don't know what that is!"
Me: "Okay, when you want to go on the internet, do you click on a blue E, or a mulicolored circle, or..."
Them: "SIR I ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT I AM NOT A COMPUTER PERSON, YOU'RE REFUSING TO THELP ME SO I'M GOING TO HANG UP"12 -
More than half of all support calls and tickets we get are so fucking easily searchable through our own fucking website and search engines, it's really fucking annoying sometimes.
"how do I redirect a site?"
Type the fucking word redirect into our helpdesk page.
"how can i reset my email password?"
Literally fucking type the word EMAIL into fucking search bar?!
"hey the article said to go to yourdomain.com/webmail, I'm not getting anything!!!"
"what domain did you use?"
"yourdomain.com of course!"
😥🔫
"how can I add a domain to my hosting?"
Search for the FUCKING word DOMAIN on our online helpdesk.
IT'S REALLY NOT THAT HARD, PLEASE APPLY COMMON SENSE AND USE YOUR FUCKING BRAIN.17 -
There's one kind of ticket I fucking love. Wait, YOU LOVE TICKETS?! No, except for one.
Tickets where people ask us to restore backups.
Why do I love them?
Because the only fucking thing I need to do is reply with a link to a helpdesk item on our website because backups aren't something within our support range because it's easy for customers to do.
So whenever a ticket about restoring a backup comes in, it's as easy as opening the ticket, pasting the link with "I'd like to refer you to the following resource: " and pressing fucking "reply"
😄15 -
/*The following dialogue is an excerpt from an actual conversation I had a couple of hours ago*/
Microsoft support:
Please check that you've installed the correct version of JavaScript in the Control panel.
Me: JavaScript isn't standalone software.
MS: Are you sure you downloaded JS from Oracles website then?
Me: *ended the chat*1 -
What an awful day :(
The server where I host my 4 clients websites crashed.
Unable to reboot from the console.
I contact the support. 15 minutes later: "we'll look at this"
No news for 1 week despite my messages.
Then... 1st ticket escalation... 2nd ticket escalation... 3rd ticket escalation...
Answer: "Sorry, your server is down and cannot be repaired."
Fuck.
I ask "is there any way to get my data back?". Answer: "No, because we would shutdown the whole bay and all our clients would be impacted".
Fuck.
I subscribe to another server, at another provider.
I look at my backups... shit, the last one is 4 month ago!!
I restore the first website: OK
I restore the second website: OK
I restore the third website: My new server is "too recent" and not compatible. with this old Wordpress. Fuck! I'll look at this later...
I restore the fourth website: database is empty!! What??? I look at the SQL backup for this site... it failed...
I lost ALL my 4th client data!!!
I'm sooooo piece of crap!14 -
When doing first level support....
[windows desktop software]
Me: How can I help you?
Client: I installed the latest update from your website yesterday, but the version number hasn't changed
Me: You downloaded version *** ?
Client: Yes
Me: And you installed it?
Client: Yes
Me: Did you get an error message during the installation?
Client: No, everything worked fine, no errors
Me: And the installation process was completed?
Client: I think so
Me: Hmmm... Lets try it again. I will assist you.
Client: Ok
Me: Start your browser and open the website.
Client: ..... did it
Me: Good. Now click on the link to the download page.
Client: .... did it
Me: Do you see the the update package at the top of the list?
Client: Yes.
Me: Ok. Now click on it.
Client: Why?5 -
so,i made a website and uploaded it to my paid hosting...some pages were blank when accessed.did some testing and found out that was a php problem.contacted the support to enable error reporting for testing...he said that it can not be done...and that my code was the problem....spent 3h testing like a blind man...then my mother comes and sais this "maybe it's not compatible"she knows nothing about programming....then it struck me....fucking different php versions...i think i'm retarded sometimes...12

A customer calls to ask about our software, its features and its advantages and so on.
I answer him all his questions in a 45 minutes support call.
Then he decides to order the software from our website using the order form.
After 1h i get another call by the same guy saying he cant order.
I ask him why and he says that he is blind and his screen reader does not read out the form/website content.
So i filled out the order form with him together because im a nice person and customer is king. (Took me 20 minutes).
After that i ask our webdevelopers if they considered to make the website more disabled friendly.
They responded with no because it dosent matter.
Yeah fuck me right! Fuck the disabled customers we dont care.
I think thats kind of stupid but who cares right!!12 -
Good news everyone. As of 30th June 2018, PCI compliance demands a minimum of TLS v1.1. Meaning it's illegal for your website to support IE6-1011
-
Why the fuck would anyone still want to support IE? It's 2018 for fuck sake! Sure, there's no reason a website shouldn't work on IE, but do I really need to fuck it up just because something doesn't properly align in IE?
Fuck IE! Why can't we just let it die?11 -
All web developers should support up to IE9 without any problems.
Why? Because in Korea, it is normal.
Every person uses that damn Win7, which has either IE9 or IE10. Without IE support, no one will browse your webpage.
Now you would ask us, why don't you use other modern browsers?
We would then ask you, why would you install a new browser that is
1. Buggy
2. Heavy
3. Takes up ram
4. Has so many features
when you have an awesome minimalistic browser that is preinstalled, and works in all Windows? No thanks.
So, if you put a message saying you will soon drop support of IE, it means that you won't target Korea. Just after the support drop, there won't be traffic to your web site.
So what is the point of this rant?
1. We love IE. Lol
2. IE is lightweight, minimalistic, and the fastest browser in the world.
3. All websites should NOT drop support for IE.
4. We don't care whether web devs will have a hard time. We just think websites are built with Wix and Wordpress, and they work in IE, meaning, IE support is the number one priority.
5. If you ever start a business in Korea, and has a website, make sure to hire an senior Korean web dev who has worked with IE for a long time.
6. Here is the tl;dr
Hate us. Period.24 -
WTF?! Do I look like your personal Google assistant or amazon alexa?!
You messaged me to call the customer support for some doubt you have. Why can't you do it yourself?!
I then sent you a FAQ section from the website covering all the required details.
And you couldn't even bother to open the link to check there?!!!
Fuck off.3 -
I have just thought of the perfect solution when support for fucking ancient IE versions creaps in the requirements (and asking the assholes to produce numbers to support the crazy does not help)
Just do browser detection and if IE < 9 Replace body with one of those winXP alert boxes that tell them there Computer is infected and that they can get a free scan (it's what they are used to anyway). Put a link to the installer of your favourite browser over the entire image.😎
Good news is 100℅ code reuse! Works on every outdated IE and every website that requires IE support.

Me to customer, several years ago:
Your server is over 10 years old, and the support for it will soon be gone together with the possibility to take backups. You should upgrade your website ASAP.
Customer said:
ok, we will look into it.
This day:
Customer:
Hi, our site is down and we need backups from yesterday. Can you please fix?
Me:
Sorry, no. *send copy of the email several years ago*2 -
fucking hostgator!
go suck a cock you developers!
everything from their payment system to their support is crap.
a few days ago, i purchased a website from hostgator, with a year of hosting during black friday weekend. i had obtained a black friday coupon code that entitled me to roughly $160 off its usual price. that said, i filled out the registration form and clicked the 'checkout' button.
right after i clicked it, i saw i forgot to put in the coupon code, and pressed the back button on my browser. then i put in the code and proceeded with checkout.
guess what?
those MOTHERFUCKING GREEDY ASS BITCHES charged me TWICE, one with the coupon and one without.
i contacted customer support and told them what happened after waiting about double the time i was supposed to be connected to support.
of course, they asked for my fucking "security" pin over the customer support live chat (totally not ironic).
they sent a confirmation email, and cancelled the payment without the coupon.
then ONE FUCKING DAY LATER, I tried to connect to my website.
MY SITE WAS FUCKING SUSPENDED.
die in a hole.
i contacted customer support once more, and after explaining the story, I had to wait four to eight hours.
i'll see how it turns out tomorrow.
die in a hole hostgator🖕

Completed Angular 2 course on codeschool, really liked improvements and simplicity of Angular over Angularjs. Decided to do quick start guide in official website. Oh my f**king god... I need to setup webpack, typescript linter, typings, polyfills etc angular2-cli is no better, crawling with errors... why... why can't one just start a project and work instead spending loads of timing configuring all of that... AND WHY WE CANT HAVE PROPER SUPPORT FOR LATEST FEATURES...
I don't even know what I am ranting about... I just wish to spend more time creating things than configuring for ages development environment.7 -
Got this rude ass email from an idiot client who thinks I'm solely responsible for figuring out how to link his 3rd party email/newsletter sign up form to his new website without any access to the account. He "doesn't have the time to research". Newsflash asshat, I'm not responsible for your 3rd party shit. Go contact their support. 🙄😑

Me:
Totally riffing to my new playlist....
the ideas are just flowing.....
Code flying...
changing in my brain....
I think I've got I might have it.....
...... RING RING ITS THE MOTHERFUCKING BOSS,
Boss:
Why is the whole website down?
Me: WTF, looks fine here, all logs are clear.
Boss: I just got an email saying the whole thing is fucked. Stop everything and fix it now.
Me: but we just agreed dev is taking priority over any support issues within sla and I've checked from everywhere there are no issues, just data issues probably from user error.
Boss: Just get it back and figure it out!!!!! Why are you being difficult?
Me: okay whatever, let's patch each of these shits.
COULDVE SENT THIS ANYWHERE BUT NOW MY IDEA IS GOOOONEEE!!!!!! NULL FUCKING DATA FIELD ON A SINGLE FUCKING EMAIL....FRAAAAACKKK THIS4 -
Just got a Google Pixel on a norwegian website.
I open the box and ...surprise.
The support guy replied 'I don't see the problem', Well I do.

Disclaimer: Long tale of a tech support job. Also the wk29 story is at the bottom.
One time I was working tech support for a website and email hosting firm that was in town. I was hired and worked as the only tech support person there, so all calls came in through me. This also meant that if I was on a call, and another one came through, they would go straight to voice mail. But I couldn't hang up calls either, so, sometimes someone would take up tons of time and I'd have to help them. I was also the "SEO" and "Social Media Marketing" person, as well; managed peoples' social media campaigns. I have tons of stories from this place but a few in particular stick out to me. No particular order to these, I'm just reminiscing as I write this.
I once had to help a man who couldn't find the start button on his computer. When I eventually guided him to allowing me to remote into his computer via Team Viewer, I found he was using Windows XP. I'm not kidding.
I once had to sit on the phone with a man selling Plexus Easy Weight Loss (snake oil, pyramid scheme, but he was a client) and have him yell at me about not getting him more business, simply because we'd built his website. No, I'D not built his website, but his website was fine and it wasn't our job to get him more business. Oh yeah, this is the same guy who said that he didn't want the social media marketing package because he "had people to hide from." Christ.
We had another client who was a conspiracy theorist and wanted the social media marketing package for his blog, all about United States conspiracies. Real nut case. But the best client I've ever had because sometimes he'd come into the office and take up my time talking at me about how Fukushima was the next 911 and that soon it'll spill into the US water supply and everybody was going to die. Hell, better than being on the phone! Doing his social media was great because he wanted me to post clearly fake news stories to his twitter and facebook for him, and I got to look at and manage all the comments calling him out on his bullshit. It was kinda fun. After all, it wasn't _me_ that believed all this. It felt like I was trolling.
[wk29] I was the social media and support techie, not a salesperson. But sometimes I was put in charge _alone_ in front of clients for status meetings about their social media. This one time we had a client who was a custom fashion-type person. I don't really remember. But I was told directly to make them a _new_ facebook page and post to it every day with their hot new deals and stuff. MONTHS pass since I do that and they come in for a face-to-face meeting. Boss is out doing... boss things and that means I have to sit in with her, and for some fucking reason she brought her boyfriend AND HER DAD. Who were both clearly very very angry with me, the company, and probably life. They didn't ever say anything at first, they didn't greet me, they were both just there like British royal guards. It was weird as fuck. I start showing them the page, the progress on their likes goals, etc etc. Marketing shit. They say, "huh, we didn't see any of these posts at home." Turns out they already had a Facebook page, I was working on a completely seperate one, and then the boyfriend finally chimes in with the biggest fucking scowl, "what are you going to do about this?" He was sort of justified, considering this was a payed and semi-expensive service we offered, but holy shit the amount of fire in all three of them. Anyway, it came down to me figuring out how to merge facebook pages, but they eventually left as clients. Is this my fuck up? Is it my company's? Is it theirs? I don't know but that was probably the most awkward meeting ever. Don't know if it comes across through text but the anxiety was pretty real. Fuck.
tl;dr Tech support jobs are a really fun and exciting entry level position I recommend everybody apply for if they're starting out in the tech world! You'll meet tons of cool people and every day is like a new adventure.2 -
ALRIGHT! I'LL GIVE YOU SUPPORT ON MY VACATION TOO, IT'S NOT LIKE I HAVE FRIENDS AND FAMILY, NOPE, ALL I CARE ABOUT IS YOUR UNSTRUCTURED PHP CODE WHICH NEEDS TO BE REFACTORED BECAUSE 2 VISITORS ON YOUR WEBSITE SUGGESTED SO!6

I love it when people make a mistake and break something on their website then act as tho the are losing millions of pounds every second like they are going to have to remortgage their house "life is over", if it's not fixed in 30 seconds the world will end!
Then you look at their website and you think they probably have about two users every week, and the website looks like it has been built by a one armed monkey. Delusional2 -
Really getting tired of these web design ads. I would turn on Adblock but I want to support YouTubers that are actually interesting to watch. I saw this ad today, Divi. A plugin of some sort for WordPress and the lady in the video is talking about how building a website is like painting a master piece but not really. And then goes on about "creating" a website with their tool on the page itself. (Like a Wix or Weebly but on the actual page and live). I watch the video to the end and decide to check the comments and someone said "or you know, learn HTML and stop being lazy" *liked* then one smart ass replied, "or use Wix, or use Weebly, or use any other thing online that lets you design a website without typing code". It annoys me how ignorant people can be about designing, but I don't blame them. People are lazy in general and would want to do things the easy way even though it's not the best way. You know the saying, give a man a CMS or WYSIWYG builder and he'll make a website, but teach a man to code and he'll make more, improved websites.4

Me as a mobile app developer trying to add a button to a page of a .Net website:
So, what do i need to do?
Web developer:
Oh that's easy. You need to edit that template which produces html, add an event in there that will call a javascript function, which is in a .js file, which is generated from a typescript file. Than you should give that button a style. Simply by opening up that .less file here and adding a class which will be translated to css later. In that c# file over there you add a bundle reference which contains the css and js files, but before that, they must be minified. In that other c# file, you add a controller that handles your button.
Aaand... take care of new js features and css features. Most browsers don't support them. Those cool C#7 features you love so much... not in this project. Our build servers don't support C#7. Those new features are evil anyway.

Spent the last days trying to reach paypal tech support, hung on the phone across the globe, with people at paypal CS, who weren't even familiar with their own terminology, read tons of VERY 'straightforward' documentation and it kept me up two nights straight.
ALL because I REFUSED to believe that it is like I understood it between the lines that I read.
Today I got my answer. You can create Billing Plans (rules on which you'll base your subscriptions, i.e. amount, intervals, duration..) ONLY over the rest api, and only when a customer purchases a first subscription, you're able to EDIT the plan on Paypal dashboard!
What fuckery is that!? You have a edit form, but you can not provide a create form?! TY paypal for making me build a whole billing plan manager for usually a one time transaction per website.
I AM SENDING YOU MY PHONE BILL.1 -
My first job. Hired as a designer. It was me and a backend dev (PHP). Company wanted us to build their e-commerce website, but the backend dev had no eye for design or front end chops, fell onto me, so I learned it on the spot.
I also did the mistake of trying to prove myself too hard and ended up doing IT, network and user support, user training, phone sales and helping the print team on designs, on top of my already taxing responsibilities, for 18k/year.
In the end, the company moved offices and I was tasked with finding and installing a new server, IP phone system, and organising the desks following a carefully crafted and approved plan. Spent the weekend doing that (had some friends that didn't even work for the company join as they knew of my struggle) only for the bosses to arrive on Monday, decide they didn't like it, and just said "change it", ignoring the plan entirely. I then left without having another job lined up and never looked back.1 -
Just overheard somebody discussing about adding in IE8 support for the website. Please no... Just don't.3
-
NO. NO. A THOUSAND TIMES: NO.
I clicked on this out of genuine curiosity to see if someone was finally trying to discourage people from annoying the shit out of website visitors. A summary of the suggestions in their article as to what to use popups for:
1. Announce new products/services, features, policy updates, new blog posts
2. Promote your sales or coupons (including countdowns)
3. Encourage people to input their e-mail address / subscribe, perhaps also offering some vague thing they will get as a reward for doing so
4. Contact forms (e.g. support etc.)
5. Prompt visitors to confirm their age before showing content
6. Login/register forms
7. Display social media "share" buttons when a visitor has scrolled a certain way through the page content.
8. Display cookie consent prompt.
9. Help guide visitors to the part of the website they want to go to.
Of these: 1, 2, 3, and 7 need to die for sure. If a website does any of these things I'm inclined to immediately leave and never return. 8 is a little annoying but seems a necessity.
Someone even replied to the Tweet saying that popups are annoying, the company responded with "let's change that!"
Blank portions of the screenshot are to avoid promoting the company unintentionally as a result of the rant ;)

(On the phone)
Internet Provider Support: "Hello, how can I help you?"
Me: "Hi, I've been unable to connect to internet for the past few hours and-
IPS: "Haven't you heard the pre-recorded message?!"
Me: "Uh... No? I'm sorry, but no message was played before you answered."
ISP: "Well, internet services are experiencing technical issues in your whole area. We'll contact you soon as it's resolved." *Hangs up*
...The company then proceeded to state that everything was fine, after a few hours. On their website. Without specifying how to manually restore the connection at all, since apparently this was needed.
...Great job?
This looks kinda dumb to me but... Is it just me?6 -
TL;DR: Why does that online shop NOT support paypal?
I'm a LITTLE pissed.
I wanted to buy some stuff online (since my gf birthday comes closer and I have no city, no car nearby to go shopping) - and this website doesn't support paypal. You know why? Because they had to high fees.
Why on earth don't they do it like any other online shop?! - the user can pay with paypal for a little more % or €.
I don't have an actual credit card but the thing you can get <18yo. Paypal works with it but I can't use any other payment option.13 -
Fuck Homestead.
For the fortune of you not to know, Homestead is a sad attempt at a Wix-like build your own website platform.
However, Homestead is the most unusable piece of shit platform that humans have ever had the misery of interacting with
Lets start off with the login page. The login page is small, unresponsive and half the time just deletes your input whenever you press submit.
It's important to note that unless you're running MacOS or Windows, Homestead will send to an error page on which there's a link to contact support, but pressing that link requires MacOS or Windows.
Fine, I'll fiddle around with my user-agent, and we'll be in soon enough. But now we come to the joy that is the website editor itself.
The website editor is clunky, hard to use, and has enough menus and submenus and sidebars to make the Jira UI shake with fear. Each interface option label is either ridiculously ambiguous or just straight up wrong. The built-in HTML editor doesn't support HTML5, in the name of "browser compatibility".
CSS? Pah! Who needs it! Our psuedo-90s skeuomorphic ugly-as-shit prebuilt styles will work just fine. Responsive design? Bullshit! Nobody uses a smartphone to browse the web, so why do we need to handle it?
Uploading a file? Good fucking luck buddy. There's a complicated dance among the minefield of pop-ups that ask you to confirm some shit or modify some shit and you gotta click the right option each time or else the file won't upload.
Wanna use https like 86% of the entire web and all modern websites? That's a premium feature. Fork over an extra $10 a month
Ok ok, I made it through all that. Dig through the thousands of menus to find the 'publish changes' button, and sigh with relief.
Open up a private browser tab to check my work, and nope. The site looks like shit, even by Homestead's standards. That's because Homestead claims to be a WYSIWYG editor, but it's a damn lie. The site looks like shit, so it's time do dive back into the hellhole that is this damn site editor.
And rinse and repeat. Deal with the shitty editor, publish, and pray it doesn't look like garbage. Be too scared to test on other devices because this flaming pile of dog shit pretending to be a website is bad enough on my device.
Two more months, then I'm done with this client. Someone get me a drink4 -
What kinda blockhead moron at my ISP decided that I require a new modem & router that is managed by THEM! I'm not really baffled by the privacy concerns but more about that I am unable to manage my home network. I literally cant open ports, manage ip adresses and do other shit I NEED FOR WORKING AT HOME.
I cant print!
I cant read mail!
I cant access my network drives!
My website is down!
Colleagues are asking why the Minecraft server is offline!
And using the new brick they gave me as a modem only, is not possible as there is no setting to be found to turn the router off!
And if I call their imbecile's of support they tell my that if they change a setting, that my phone will disconnect. (The phone line is also connected to the modem!) And right after the support guy said that and wanted to start explaing me further steps, his settings apply and I get kicked off the line. Bruh! You knew this would happen so why didnt you work around it?!?!?!!
Thing is, this new modem isnt even necessary as it doesnt use a different standard like fiber for example.
If I cant figure out how to get my stuff to work again, I swear to god I will turn on full Karen mode and ramble into their next store looking to get some manager fired!
(Ill post an update soon!)7 -
Part of me loves devRant for it's diverse community of awesome people doing varied and interesting projects. And their ability to support and learn from each other, or at least agree to disagree.
Another part of me wants to host an API with an isTwat call that allows you to find out if someone's a twat or not, with links to their offending comments and rants. Along with a website for easy Twact™ checking.3 -
Stakeholder: Is it possible for you to set up the website to automatically resubmit failed online orders? Last time there were failed orders, we tried submitting manually but a lot failed because they were tickets for the previous day.
Product Manager: What are your thoughts, Developer?
Me: This wouldn’t be worth the labor. It’s something that would rarely be used. There are very few orders that fail. I’d be surprised if it was even once a week. The recent bunch of order failures that SH is talking about happened because the ticketing server (separate from the website) couldn’t handle all the requests. Let’s say you had resubmission logic to try 3x before allowing the fail. It wouldn’t work because the server was overwhelmed already. Let’s say you had a background task to check for failures every ten minutes and resubmit those. It might not be helpful because the customer could have already gone to a ticketing window for help with the failed order.
SH: But what if it happens again???
Me: The solution is to make sure the ticketing server can handle the influx of requests. We can coordinate with that team. Wait. Why did you wait until the next day to resubmit orders in the admin panel? A lot of those failures happened when there were many hours left in the business day. For each order failure, an email notification is sent to the sales support email in real time. Who is monitoring that inbox? Someone must be looking at it because the sales support email is listed multiple times on the ticketing website as the technical assistance email.
SH: I know that email notification goes to the engineering team.
Me: My question is not about the engineering team. I asked who is monitoring the sales support inbox.
SH: That email … gets filtered.
Me and Product Manager: 😧🤯🤬
PM: First, you need to stop filtering that email notification. Second, your team needs to come up with a flow to handle failed orders because you told us you don’t have one. After you tried this and there’s still an issue, then we can revisit.

If you’re wondering why I said no, I’m a team of one and I have a bunch of other development tasks on my plate. So I installed Avast because I was downloading some torrents.
After months I suddenly hear a really loud "*ping* *ping* *ping* Eine Bedrohung wurde gefunden". I nearly got a heart attack. I thought I've got a fucking maleware shitty fuck thing, but I had no idea how I could find out where the fuck it was coming from. So I ignored it.
Then, weeks later again: "*ping* *ping* *ping* Eine Bedrohung wurde gefunden", while I was browsing the web.
I thought it was coming from a website so I looked through every tab and window. But nothing.
So I googled the exact sentence it said, and voila:
The first result was from the avast support site.
I opened avast and looked into the settings. There! A checkbox to turn it off! These fucking cock suckers enabled it by default!
It was the first time I enjoyed clicking a fucking checkbox. FUCK YOU AVAST!!!
Why is AntiVirus Software so shitty these days... I'll probably just switch to Windows Defender.7 -
I used to do some freelance work for a nonprofit. I’d do some website stuff and gallery sitting.
My friend was the gallery director. When she left, I decided to stop freelancing there and I dropped off the keys with the new director. I told them they could contact me later if they have questions about some things I implemented on the website. The new director thinks I’m a random freelancer and starts to BADMOUTH MY FRIEND, the former director.
Over a year later, the gallery assistant emails me asking about SSL warnings and cc’s the new director. WTF.
1) Those warnings were happening long before I left and long before I even started. 2) I am not your website support. I only invited contact for things I worked on. 3) The assistant already contacted Squarespace and Go Daddy for help and they gave her instructions.
I told her I didn’t set up their website and it sounds like she has the resources to resolve this on her own and she should contact Squarespace and Go Daddy if she needs more help. After all, you pay those companies for their services support and my time isn’t free.rant i didn’t set up your website that was happening before i touched anything my time isn’t free wk291 -
Why am I sad, depressed, demotivated, you ask?
Because I was asked to create-react-app with nodemailer, it worked well on heroku, YAYYY MEE, "
"NOTHING GOES WRONG IN DEPLOYMENT FUCK YEAH"
Little did I know that was a "demo" for the business people, My superior / manager/boss wants me to deploy on 1and1 service provider,

I went up to him to talk about this issue and requested to let me talk to 1 and 1, and get this sorted
> But bro, if we cannot fix it, I think they also cannot fix, probably.
*INTERNAL SCREAMING AT PEAK*
I just want URL Rewrite installed on IIS10 so that I can move on to the next project.
A little background for this project
> No support from him during development.
> I personally used HD Images, because why not?
> Website seems slow because of HD Images, and now he complains about it.
You fucking (managers) want a website to be scalable and fast and yet you choose to focus on B U S I N E S S instead of support the real guy.
I'm fucking sick and tired, it took me 24 hours figure out the issue because there is nothing on 1 and 1 support/ forum/help center.
Another 24 hours to try and fix, yet no luck.
I'm gonna finally point the domain name to heroku. Fuck, I'm so fucking done6 -
Whelp. I started making a very simple website with a single-page design, which I intended to use for managing my own personal knowledge on a particular subject matter, with some basic categorization features and a simple rich text editor for entering data. Partly as an exercise in web development, and partly due to not being happy with existing options out there. All was going well...
...and then feature creep happened. Now I have implemented support for multiple users with different access levels; user profiles; encrypted login system (and encrypted cookies that contain no sensitive data lol) and session handling according to (perceived) best practices; secure password recovery; user-management interface for admins; public, private and group-based sections with multiple categories and posts in each category that can be sorted by sort order value or drag and drop; custom user-created groups where they can give other users access to their sections; notifications; context menus for everything; post & user flagging system, moderation queue and support system; post revisions with comparison between different revisions; support for mobile devices and touch/swipe gestures to open/close menus or navigate between posts; easily extendible css themes with two different dark themes and one ugly as heck light theme; lazy loading of images in posts that won't load until you actually open them; auto-saving of posts in case of browser crash or accidental navigation away from page; plus various other small stuff like syntax highlighting for code, internal post linking, favouriting of posts, free-text filter, no-javascript mode, invitation system, secure (yeah right) image uploading, post-locking...
On my TODO-list: Comment and/or upvote system, spoiler tag, GDPR compliance (if I ever launch it haha), data-limits, a simple user action log for admins/moderators, overall improved security measures, refactor various controllers, clean up the code...
It STILL uses a single-page design, and the amount of feature requests (and bugs) added to my Trello board increases exponentially with every passing week. No other living person has seen the website yet, and at the pace I'm going, humanity will have gone through at least one major extinction event before I consider it "done" enough to show anyone.

When you are the only web developer of the company... You do front, backend for the website, web development jobs which come every time for stopping you to work on the 3 websites that you have to build. Every sites and database are different that's something that my boss don't understand I cannot include stuff just like that with my magic power because i have already done it. And of course the two designers of the company have the time to spend an hour for a colour. Well a week to build a 15 custom pages website with something which is close to the CRM for the back is not enough. Not enough when you also have to spent 2 hours each day on management stuff because there is 20 hosted website and the clients need support... Stressed and pissed off.2

I hate lying customers.
Today a customer opened a support ticket related to his website account. Apparently he is losing his session right after the login success.
I've debugged everything, checked all logs and couldn't reproduce it.
I know every bit of business logic on the website by heart.
The only explanation could be that his browser either doesn't allow cookies or expires them after page change.
So I asked him to check.
"Yes, cookies are allowed in my browser" he wrote.
Well... fuck me... I will change the code to put the session ID in the URL as well. If it works - and I'm 100% sure of that - I will personally mail him a collection of the finest turds.4 -

They just announced Ubuntu 18.04, that will be called "bionic beaver" (i wish i could adopt one of these)
But what scared me the most is that for this website, the #1 feature worth being announced is that the OS will fully support color emojis.
Can't wait for Ubuntu 18.10, Cancerous Crap.

What the fuck Microsoft !! Your android apps are total piece of shit! Fucking outlook Android app don't have support to view doc file which is created using your shitty Microsoft teams portal.
If I click on that doc file link through my outlook app, you redirect me to chrome.
Ok that's still acceptable. But the real shit starts now. You tell me that your browser isn't supported! Is this fucking joke?? Who in the world develops a website which can't support latest version of Android chrome?
Now that I have installed your shitty Microsoft teams app, it doesn't show up in "open with" options. Clicking on that link is still redirecting to the chrome saying that browser is unsupported.
Also, your shitty Microsoft teams app can't edit fucking doc file. When I click on your Microsoft word icon, You again ask me to install Android app for Microsoft word.
Seriously fuck you Microsoft and your shitty apps!

What a bunch of cunts.
It's sad how they keep applying restrictions to everything. Two years ago, there were no restrictions. Now:
Max one website, random account locks if you ever get actual visitors, no support unless you're premium, max 5 simultaneous clients, one hour sleeptime a day, some "random" disk full errors or internal server errors and at least two hours downtime a day.
Fuck off.

So today when I was testing my new website I learned that IE/Edge does not support smooth scrolling with JavaScript.
I get why it doesn't work in IE but Edge... like what? Edge is supposed to be a modern browser... No?8 -
Internal system sent me an email with a dead link, saying a certificate is due to expire. Couldn't find the tool, opened IM with help support and was greeted with a passive aggressive note:
"Did you know that the support staff you speak too will use the same website available to you to resolve the issue, have you tried searching here ..."
... well thank you chat bot, did you know I wouldn't be here if said website actually fucking worked?3 -
It does give you that cold rush feeling, when a low level support agent can just use some sort of "user impersonation" feature and literally send you screenshots of your conversations or other, what seems private information and should be only used for actual escalated staff, for when there's a need for an actual middleman (ie. client not paying - logs review) and for everything else there should be a test account they can do screenshots from, e.g. for general website use questions3

So... I've been messing arround with my first VPS (with little knowledge of Linux).
First installed lxde to learn how to do it, then back to the terminal. then I started with Apache, watching online tuts ...
Then I changed for nginx... Looks way better.
Installed my sql, php and got stuck. Dropped it for a few days.
Today I restarted, deleted Apache, mysql, reinstalled nginx, my php (with lots of problems because of old instalations). Everything is working now except php.
After going round and arround I changed my focus to relax a bit, and remembered I still have Apache on the firewall...
OK Apache and other stuff that I installed.
Delete everything
New rules only for nginx and reset.
Cant ssh to the server... What?
Oh... Forgot to add rules to OpenSSH...
No matter, I can access the terminal directly on the website....
And it loads to ldxe, with no user set...
Fuckkkk.
Oh BTW I'm in a trial free period with no support...17 -
Fucking microshaft! I bought a custom controller from their shop as a birthday gift to my brother. Fucking first thing the website crashes with 500 with my main account so I call support. Said them its a backend issue and they should let the devs investigate. Support says they can't even contact them in anyway shape or form. Fucking great!
So since my account seems to has broken their backend I create another account using some random email while support tells me to fucking log in and out again (yeah man I tried that). OK wonderful new account worked I can buy the controller.
Now one year later the controller just fucking stops working (probably why its called Xbox one! controller). Wonderful I paid 90€ for that shit thing and now it won't connect anymore. Tried everything and searched countless forums, nothing helped. Fuckers say: JuSt ConNeCT iT tO YoUr XbOx oNe and it might magically work (TM). You fuck I bought it for PC why the fuck can I not just fix it using a PC. Do you want me to buy a fucking Xbox for 500 bucks just to get the fucking controller to work!? You shitfaced monkey!
OK then lets try that support again because that worked so well last time. I put in the serial number and... Fucking unrecognized number. Unrecognized number my ass. Go suck on a spiked club you buffoon!
Now I'm fucked because I don't have the fucking receipt anymore and the email was send to that fucking temp account I don't even know the email address for anymore (ノ°益°)ノ1 -
Last week i couldn't use a website to download a product because it failed on every browser and even with addons deactivated. The error said "please input the version" and version is a checkbox.
Wrote to support.
Me: "Download does not work! It gives error xyz. How can i get the product?"
Support : "Oh, you can easily get it from our download page."
Do you even read your mails?!? -
When the support team flirts with you so maybe you will forget about the issue (that your website has 30 minutes downtimes everyday). 🤭

I just contacted the support of one of our service provider for virtual tours. I told them that the iframe will open the website (in target self) instead of playing the tour, and that our clients will most likely not come back to our site, when they don't see a "go back" or something. Best would be, if the iframe plays instead of opening a new tab.
Supports answer: "I sent you a video, there you can see how to get back to your website"
*sends a video of themself opening his browsing history and clicking our site*
A dream of every UX developer.

I was recently asked to do tech support for an event being designed by webdesign and business students
All they asked me to do was generate a qr-code to their site. -_- took 10 seconds on a website. I even matched their color theme
Yet their rsvp system is to email an event account and they count the number of emails. Why wasn't I asked if I could set up a better system rather than a simple qr. I just learned about this and it's too close to the event to setup a better system and pitch it to them -
Every year, the worst dev experience comes right at the holidays, when website owners with big egos want to launch right on (U.S.) Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve/Day because they think they’re that popular and important. It never occurs to them that this is the WORST time because any third party support you need for hosting, APIs, plugins, etc. is either backlogged or out of office. And because NOBODY is eagerly awaiting the redesign of ANY website on those particular dates since they are stuffing their faces and getting s&&&faced at bars and parties. Nobody will even notice that your website has changed until January 15th at the earliest.
-
Doing the deployment to production, and towards the end one of the support guys looks over at me;
"So, the website in prod is throwing some errors"
Followed by another guy:
"Yeah I'm getting the same, SQL exceptions on the page"
I stare at them panicked for a moment, when one of them goes "just kidding!". Like dude, my heart just skipped several beats!
Any one here ever had something cruel happen to them during a deployment?3 -
Hey DevRant, I'd like you to meet "Marketing Brandon", his favorite daily activities include:
- asking me when that landing page is going to be ready
- asking how to support a customer on live chat even though he chose to assign the ticket to himself in the first place
- explaining how important social media is
- telling me he's working as fast as he can on some website copy I need and then sitting and composing tweets for 40 minutes
- asking if I can "just real quickly when I get the chance" implement a huge new feature for our users
- announcing to the entire office that he "has to leave early today" because the pet store closes at 5 and his ferret ran out of food yesterday
-.-
Does your office have a Marketing Brandon or similar?

This morning I got a reply to my tech support email:
The problem was that the dynamic pages on my website are no longer being served as dynamic pages and so IIS is throwing errors on every page load. Seems to me like they've done something their end because I didn't touch it when it happened...
The tech support email essentially told me to rename all my files from .cshtml (ie. a dynamic page) to .html.
I'm not expert, but I doubt this is going to solve the problem...4 -
I used to work in a Tech Support department where everybody was constantly pranking each other.
In one of the iterations of such events one of the guys actually forked the source of a login page, in one instance of the app that was running in a VM, and edited the code so it would redirect the user to a lemon party'ish website.
It was quite an upgrade to the old M.O. where people would just email themselves messages with seemingly bureaucratic call to actions containing hyperlinks to the same lemon party'ish websites.
And the most direct approach, which is to type those directly into one's browser if the laptop is left unattended & unlocked due to a trip to the toilet.8 -

So that new keyboard I bought? They sent me a French azerty instead of a Belgian azerty layout. Meaning the special keys are in the wrong places.
It's from a third party vendor. Here was me thinking I was getting a good deal on a second hand product in a box that had been opened but returned. Think I can guess why that happened.
I contacted support who will contact the third party but I have a bad feeling about this already. Both the third party and website where I ordered this are Dutch and they are used to Qwerty. Guess I should have bought on a Belgian website at full price :(5 -
I use fucking GoDaddy to manage my domains, just cause, whatever, who cares, right, it's a domain manager, they do have great support.
But everytime I login and try to find a domain, it's like 8 clicks and they try to push their website builder in your face and all kinds of shit.
Can I get a recommendation from a trusted devranter? I want to switch.
I use forge if that matters...
thanks.6 -

Next time when you are building a website make sure you add some polyfill for the dinosaur people
# We don't officially support any browser that doesn't have
# requestAnimationFrame. But... we had one very nice person
# write in who was using Opera for Linux (latest version was
# released in 2011, what). It doesn't hurt us to polyfill
# here, and if we don't then dinosaur people will just see
# a big blank Trello.

Applied in a company for a development work, as I have been a developer for some time now and want to switch jobs. The new company was larger and I had no experience of how processes work at larger companies.
I got a call and after the usual chit-chat I got asked if I would be interested in a support role. Since this was new to me I was afraid to flat-out say 'no', so I told them that I had applied to a developer role through their website. They said that theirs is a service-based company and interaction to clients is something everyone has to do. I started digging, as to why the current position is different from the one indicated on the website.
After some more conversation, the call ended.
Later I came to know from an acquaintance that there are both support and development roles at that company and since support positions are few people's "first choice" they first try all the candidates that call; those that fit into the support roles are assigned there.
Needless to say, the compensation and general nature of the support jobs is much inferior to proper development positions.
I dodged a bullet.1 -
I want to learn app development but, due to some reasons I cannot buy a laptop now. And my current laptop is way too old to support android studio. So I planned to utilize this time to learn web development.
I completed HTML5 and CSS3 and now currently I'm learning JavaScript.
I have made a website which can be used to put emojis in your webpage.
Although, the JS section will be added in further version( after I've finished learning 😅), still it can be used by copy and pasting the cdn and image names.

First job as a web dev (promoted within my company from helpdesk!!!!). I made it explicitly clear that my php experience is rudimentary and that I was still learning and our CIO was fine with that, just said I need to fast track learning.
In my first website support meeting today they dropped all kinds of fun stuff about Wordpress development that I only know the basics on and is now my responsibility to learn, so:
How the hell do I learn php/scss/sass/docker for Wordpress really fucking fast? Lol4 -

So I've spent the last three days trying to send requests to a website in C# (never had done that, so I had to learn from scratch) and using XPath to select certain nodes from the html.
Today, I port it to a new UWP project and turns out it doesn't support XPath. I guess I should learn LINQ now...fml1 -
Do not buy Hostinger... They are so aggressive with caching that I ran out of devices to test the features. They probably cache based on userAgent because changing other parameters (IP, local cache) doesn't resolve the issue. I talked to tech support whole day, and although they were helpful few times I just got three same answers for the three different questions. Seriously, the only thing I like about Hostinger is their user friendly UI.
The rant goes on. I can basically DoS my website by clicking fast on it. That shit doesn't happen with some free hosting plans... My site goes down for a few minutes before I can visit it again.
THE RANT GOES ON
Using the file manager is tedious work as you get randomly disconnected after less than few minutes of inactivity.
I might seriously switch to Google's Cloud Console. It is more expensive, you have to do all the hosting config yourself using a virtual machine, but I guess it's more reliable and it gives you a lot more control.5 -
*Email chain forwarded by support team to our dev team*
Hi,
Please assist our customer. He is unable to reset his password!
*Went through the emails turned out that customer is asking for password reset request for legacy website for which we don't work at all*
Scrum master sending another reply to look into the matter on High priority.
We again double checked for the customer but he is not registered on the new website.
Apparently, both scrum master and support team and entire company is aware that our team is not working for legacy website.
But No one reads the email properly and keep forwarding to dev team disturbing the entire team.
Some times things like this are done by product manager and her associate, but they keep replying to each other on unnecessary things till they come to conclusion and scrum master try hard to keep up with them with his own agile disciplines. -
A customer specialising in identification and security solutions called today, claiming "they" found malware on their website. Then they provided a weird link to some shady malware scanner, and the "malware" turned to be a <noscript> tag which adds ?noscript to the page url, so we can serve no-JS optimised content. As a bonus, the scanner only detected it on two URLs, even though every single page on the site contains that same line of code.
Joke's on them, have fun paying for priority support outside of the business hours for nothing.1 -
I hate it when companies got 5 payment options while 4 of them basically lead to a credit card payment.
I'm renting some servers from Vultr and they recently changed something in their payment protocol. Now you need a credit card, even while paying with PayPal, and I don't have a credit card. Using their BTC option doesn't work either since my wallet tells me they are using an incompatible payment protocol (error reason, address & amount) . There is not even a wallet address shown through their BTC checkout to which I could directly send the amount to. You need to open the website on the device your wallet is stored on and then make the payment (so no address is required from their side). Account management is taking a look at it now, I got very quick replies back from their support but this is the first time I'm having such an issue with them.
Oh well, hope they won't take down my servers in the meantime.2 -
Why would you say that your website should support IE?? Whyyy?? Who uses that except for downloading Chrome? You just make our lives miserable with that :(7

Working with dildos-for-brain people! I asked how to achieve something and if I got an answer it stated: never saw something like that implemented before (It really means that people here just copy/paste shit and use iterative development method until they nab the solution)!!!
Really? I just asked to have nested XML structure, it's been around since early 90'!
I have new weekend project - polish my CV and get the fuck out of here. When it feels like you are smartest in the room and for every question for help people just throw you random answers not related to question at all it is not worth staying there.
Also using outdated XML server CMS that ceased its support, documentation is shoddy and internet never heard of it - only relevant google search leads to the CMS website. Good luck! Good fucking luck!
This shit went overboard so many times and I decided that this is the last time. I have 2 more fucks to give and those are for me! -
8 years old, first computer. 12 tears old first laptop. Around the time of bebo, I started messing with Photoshop making skins, then I made a website to put these skins on, after that I became involved with the SMF message board software, offering support, creating mods and themes. Eventually started working with individuals and businesses designing and building there websites, went to college got a taste of Java & vB, continued onto a degree and now I can program in Java, vB, C#, C, Javascript/Coffeescript, Node, PHP, Python and Bash with experience with too many libraries and frameworks to count, at 24 years of age going into the last year of my degree. I never really realised I wanted to become a dev. I just kind of naturally progressed into it.3

I've got a bit funny situation.
I wanted to make small application to speed up my dad's job, app is about duplicating models in X website (I don't want to say directly what website).
So I started by checking it has API, Yup, It has, but you need OAuth ID, to get it you need to write to support.
So I did it, my mail was something like that: "Hello, can I get access to your API, I want to make app to duplicate models with same settings, Thanks"
I've got an answer like that "Hello, our website doesn't have duplicating feature."
My reaction was: Wtf? I know it doesn't have that feature, That's why I want to make it. How did he get hired as technical support?
Maybe it's not the most exciting story, but I thought it could be intresting :) -
So today i had to visit this banks site to do updation on a document but for some reason the modal dialogue that was supposed to open was not working and i couldn't continue to next step.
On an attempt to contact customer support, i browsed the site for relevant details. As i do that, i observed this site is so shitty that it can't even properly render on Google Chrome! It was an horrific experience finding info in that site.
Finally found the customer support form and as I clicked the "submit" it didn't give any feedback whether it was processing or not. After like over a minute of uncertainty, it got redirected to a 404 page.
Frustrated, I went on to their twitter and I almost tweeted calling out their terrible web developer team.
But, my instinct told me to calm my titties and i tweeted a regular confused user tweet.
Got their attention and few hrs later i got a phone call from someone working there. He didn't sound like a customer service representative from the way he spoke. He told it was an issue with their website and had fixed it. I tried again as he was on the line but it was not working for me. And then i shared screenshot of the issue. He tested it again and said it was working for them. Still not working for me. ( Probably cache issue on my end ). Thought he would suggest to clear cache and try. But he asked me to try on another computer since it was working for him.
As i searched for a another system, i got a call from customer support guy and he said he will do the update on their end and told me to tell details. Since the info was not that sensitive in nature, I went with it.
Pretty sure the other guy i talked to was a developer.
This made me think - had i tweeted out a mean tweet calling out their shitty website it would have been probably awkward talking to him - I'd have to be mean again. It could've ruined his day, maybe he was under pressure from his pm that he had to make the phone call. He probably hates his job already managing that shitty legacy code..
I don't know - either way, I'm glad i was able to keep myself calm and not be a source of negative energy. -
Worst support experience so far: German ISP sent their cheap default router which I opted for, hoping that I didn't need to rent a costly FitzBox. Provider activates the connection, everything fine, but slow and unstable on my Linux laptop only. Try using their website, their support chat etc. as they made it very hard to even open a support ticket. I gather all the information, ping, traceroute, netstat, logfiles, router settings, broadband measurement etc. and finally manage to open a support ticket of my issue adn they say they will send an engineer to my place in about 4 days. I stay at home that day and wait for the whole day, nothing happens!
I get back to them, even get a phone call after waiting about 1h in the waiting queue, only to listen to someone tell me that the appointment had been cancelled as the ticket had already been closed. WTF! They said they measured my connection and could not reproduce any error. Did not even mention my lengthy log files etc. It took my own research and another hint that there is an incompatibility with that specific router and some specific devices so I should really replace their cheap router with a FritzBox device. What they also did not tell, that you dont need to rent their branded FritzBox, there are cheap second hand models from another ISP that you can reconfigure by simply chosing another ISP in a dropdown list that contains every popular German ISP. But why are they popular? You can only choose between the different bad ones, that's why they don't seem to make an effort.2 -
IE11 weird behaviour!!
So I'm building a website for management purpose. I'm asked to implement confirm pop up box.
This pop up box uses one div with dynamic content which is created using javascript and not hardcoded in html file.
Here comes the twist. I used append() function to append child elements inside that div. Everything works fine in chrome and Firefox. Pop up shows upon clicking button. But in case of IE 11, on clicking button, It asks user to download fucking json file, instead of showing pop up !!
I'm like WTF is going on??? How the fuck this json file is generated by my code??
Turned out, this happened because of append() function. That doesn't support in IE11. Fixed it, by using appendChild() method.
Don't ask me what kind of data was in that json file. I was too scared to open it!!
Things like this are scary and weird for a fresher like me. :(4 -

Little poll:
I am building a cooperative website for something that I care. I don't want anything to be more expensive than free, but I still have to pay for the servers. I don't intend to make gains with it.
What is better: a single add on the front page, not intrusive, or a Wikipedia-like campain every year to get the money to pay the servers?
I am opposed to any kind of publicity in my case: for me, internet was created and has to be keept with the spirit of sharing. I give money to wikipedia when I can, I support projects on kickstarters, etc. Adds are the oposite: they don't mean to share, but to sell, hence completely destroying the spirit of internet. But I also need to know that my site may not be visited by people with my point of view: olders wouldn't pay as easily as youngers, and my project targets a very large group of people.
Please help me making a decision, I think I will have a lot of different opinions!3 -
Why Apple has to do every configuration so f**ckin difficult? After a thousand logins, validations, and 2FA just to change my f**ckin region I find that I need to contact local support by chat or call even if my account is clean (no payment method added, no purchases made, etc.). Yeah right, great products, but crappy website UX.1

Damn java 9 is such a pain in the arse. First there isn't official support for NetBeans which used to be my primary java development ide. Had to move to intelliJ for that jdk 9 support. Then came xamarin and visual studio. And guess what they don't support jdk 9. So now I need to have two sets of jdk to keep my work going. I don't understand the point of having a stable release if there is no widespread support. I mean sure visual studio is Microsoft problem but NetBeans is available from official oracle website. At least they should be able to integrate support for it.2

A Website where the user alterts us about a defect on his printer.
There are predefined categories (things like error messages in the printer display, issues with the prints, issues with paper jams, issues with noise and so on) maybe around 10 to 20 categories.
They decide which fields are shown when the user selects it.
Should I do a Dropdown? List field? Radio buttons?
Tech: PHP, Slim Framework, fontsawesome, resulting in a mail sent to our ticket system to pre-fill form items to avoid 1st level support...1 -
at the age of 12 I was bored so I started with html as I wanted to make a website, at the age of 14-15 is started with pure php, at 16 I started my first IT study for second line support and at 18-19 I finished my first IT study and started my second IT study for support mangement and when I'm done with it I'm planning on doing a third one for data center engineering.

My previous employer was an e-commerce company. Most of our customers had use it or lose it funds that had to be spent by December 31 each year. So every year, the devs had to stay online until midnight on New Year’s Eve just in case there was a website issue. I didn’t witness any issue during my time there, or at least I was never contacted for support when I was on NYE duty.
They compensated by giving an extra PTO day for future use. Pre 2020, they’d allow us to leave work two hours early on NYE since the office was in NYC and getting home would be a nightmare. But you’d have to work from home to work the NYE support.
It was “optional”, but we know as a dev it’s not really optional unless you have a life and death reason not to. My first few weeks working there, my grandma had passed away. The funeral was NYE weekend so I was excused from doing the NYE support my first year because I was on bereavement leave.
The last two weeks of December were considered blackout dates for PTO, so everyone (including non devs) was not allowed to take any vacation time during those two weeks. Some people might have a problem with that if they’re into holiday celebrations and family and friend get togethers. They did observe Christmas, so that was the only day off most folks got during those two weeks. Though, the period from Thanksgiving through the end of December was stressful.2 -
So I was browsing the https://travis-ci.com website and was bothered by the weird gradiants, familiar layout and awkwardly timed animations (normally I only use https://app.travis-ci.com).
I navigated to all their top-level pages and paid attention to the incoherent/ sluggish design (see screenshot). So I got this feeling that it was a cheap-ass Wordpress template purchased from Themeforest and implemented by a webmaster with little to no dev-skills.
Sure enough, I checked the Wappalyzer extension and it is using Wordpress. Compare that to the old https://travis-ci.org which was custom-built on Ember and looks professional.
I'm aware of the negative PR they have generated over the past year but gave them the benefit of doubt and they have been good in their support and credit allotments, but man... that WP site looks so amateurish and marketed to the wrong target group. I don't know maybe I'll be forced to reconsider

Why the hell Microsoft browser support the standards created? The website which I had designed worked well in my mobile (Android) and PC (Ubuntu) then I just opened it in friends laptop which had windows 10 and guess what? Transition failed to work. Why the hell Microsoft? Why the hell?3

so we are having a campus recruitment at college. So there's a company that came in campus . The first step was to register on their website however their website is so shitty that they have specified that their Website is working just on Chrome and IE and not on Firefox . I was like what kind of developer support IE over Firefox really on top my friends who were applying at this company spend over 5 hrs just to register and the worst part @ 9 their server crashed . I would rather drink bleach than joining such a company1

Screw our credit card processor so hard. The powers that be decided to sign with them because their rates were better. That's it. Never mind the fact that they don't make/work with mobile readers, which we need. Never mind the fact that their app is trash and is lacking basic features. Never mind the fact that their support is non-existent. Never mind the fact that when I request a new POS machine, I don't hear back for 6 months, and have to follow up again only to find they forgot about it. Never mind the fact that their POS machines can't handle 2 merchants like our ancient, "out-dated" one could, and so we need to spend double the money and have 2 POS machines sitting on the counter. Never mind the fact that their website is trash and lacks basic functionality. Never mind the fact that I cannot manage our user list (which changes CONSTANTLY), or even VIEW IT. I need to email them for all of this, and they may or may not respond. Never mind the fact that I'm going to spend my entire Friday scrolling through thousands of transactions, looking for one specific one, because their website doesn't even allow me to search for a specific transaction amount. Never mind all of that. Slightly lower rates, baby!1
-
I'm seriously considering making my website animations only support Firefox because apparently Mozilla are the only people who thought native smooth scrolling and implementing scroll-behavior was a good idea3

So the other day i paid for the sitepoint/mapt bundle since i was eager to learn to setup a website i bought awhile back.
Yet buying from mapt seemed to have been a waste of time, first off no comfirmation email just a tiny pop up on their website, the website seemed a little poorly setup since for one i wasn't even aware i had access to all their content.
Afterwards i never got a coupon for site point which was something i was looking forward to, i used mapt stuff before and two of the ebooks that i spent lots of time invested into had issues that basically stopped me half way, thus wasting all of my time.
I emailed on friday about this coupon, and finally getting one on monday i created an account used the coupon and guess what "this coupon has been used already"
WTF is this shit?
So all in all the irony of a fucking website that has content to create websites from scratch and probably including automated emails to alleviate all of these issues that has yet to use any of these things!
I'm still in the middle of customer support trying to get a working coupon for the other half of the bundle i paid for. The hilarious thing is they want an order number from me, which i don't have at all due to no automated email for order confirmation. I guess i wait yet another two days to get crappy response.2 -
Ant.design repo and website just got deleted. It‘s still on npm and there is a mirror on a chinese github fake but this is serious.
I have the weird feeling that this is a political issue.
I will not use or support platforms that are under control of the chinese government (gitee).
The only right thing to do now seems to ditch Ant.d (at least in future projects). Maybe I shouldn‘t trust or use chinese software at all.5 -
This is what being an arrogant asshole looks like.
I really like devrant. I met a community of like-minded people and i had a lot of fun here. But then I also notice a pattern of people who are seeking to insult and hurt.
But I'm not going to a website to get insulted.

Installing applications on Linux became more like Windows. It's not something new, something that went on for years. But I just realized right now, when I tried to go to the minicube website.
I go to the website, because I want to see which install methods they actively support and keep up to date.
Is it Snap? Flatpak? Do they have a private repository for deb? Maybe some rpm? An AppImage? Maybe they keep their nix version up-to-date.
I have gone with the integrated searches of all of those and have gotten Software that barely works, just to find out, it is horiffically outdated. And I just realized, going to the website and checking how they offer the newest software is now normal for me.
Soon, they will only offer AppImages and integrate updaters into their softwares. And we will have gone full Windows. Funnily in a time in which Windows Store and 3rd party tools like chocolatey finally become really viable.9 -
Daughters fancy new insulin pump:
Rant 1 - works with Safari and IE, no Chrome support - that takes some skills
Rant 2 - Wife's laptop is Windows 10 - sync website identifies the operating system as "Windows NT" (unless a typo and they meant Windows TeN)
Rant 3 - syncing data - "next" button wants you to re-set up the device (from scratch) - "finish" button (on the same screen) actually syncs the data - did they do an UX training?1 -
I am trying to make a simple portfolio website nothing fancy. I have to install wordpress clean for thee fourth time now :D I read on a GoDaddy Support Page that I should type in the domain I was trying to set up into my settings in the wordpress. Didn't seem that weird at first. I did that and now I can't log in anymore because for some reason wordpress won't accept the old domain. I couldn't take down the page because (1) the page didn't ask me if it was helpful (2) I am not a GoDaddy customer but apparently they killed my website :D
Also, funny domains in general. There are 0 Tutorials on how to set up a simple domain from another website than the hoster. It's a nightmare that (apparently) has gone on for weeks. I don't know what to do. It's so crazy. I mean, I can learn algebra, it will take time yes, It's gonna be difficult yes, but at least I don't have 5 billion 3 paragraph articles having conflicting opinions on what problem they are trying to solve. Becoming a developer today must be hell.
But my favorite part was when I realised that I had to type in the domain I want also in the settings of my hoster which I found in an article I only came across by realising that none of the domain support I had talked to could help me :D So I did that and what it did was my domain works BUT my website looked completely fucked up xD
It's crazy. You would think it would get easier.4 -
My one of my favorite open source project was Re-think DB!
It was highly light weight real-time DB.
One fine day, I read a blog by the CEO / founder, telling we are under loss since there is no financial support! and we are closing it, by just keeping the website and docs of prev version alive!
I was heartbroken , for days!
This takes the top place for favourite oss project
Btw
It has high no. of stars in github than Mongo db, reddis, etc..2 -

THE fucking pip is not working again. This time throwing sslerror ssl_certificate. Googled and came to know they removed TLS 1.0 and 1.1 support. Solution upgrade the pip. Done. Still same.

Fellow devs, I'm looking for a CMS which has markdown support and allows authorized entry.
Basically we are working with some clients on some IP. We want to convey what we have worked up via a website. But we want the access to be regulated.
We are currently using wiki to maintain the information.
What are my alternatives?14 -
We've got a printer made by HP, not the newest make, but it used to work and it still does, but only when printing from Windows. MacOS and Linux printer support stopped working after a cups update some years ago. Setting up a new linux laptop, I just wanted to check, but the issue is still not fixed. HP website offers a "virtual agent" which turns out to be an unhelpful chatbot, so probably devrant is the right place to state that this still does not work. Unfortunately I live in Germany, a country that still requires some amount of paperwork.3
-
Seriously fuck dreamhost.
First, their configuration is more complicated than it needs to be. Then their website is slow and buggy. Penultimately, their support people don't understand English, are bots, or are dumb as bricks. Finally, they don't have a custom ALIAS record for interop with Heroku.
I'm so glad I'm almost done switching! (Last domain will be transferred away on Friday!). -
Chromium dev tools and Lighthouse audits sound like a Chrome features marketing campaign, once you proceed beyond basic optimizations and bug fixes, like
use our new image formats, stop shipping old JavaScript to new browsers, provide a source map, use web font preload but only if you use it exactly matching the best case scenario, rewrite your manifest file which used to work just fine etc.
actively encourage people to exclude up to 5% of global website audience?!
"This means that 95% of global web traffic comes from browsers that support the most widely used JavaScript language features from the past 10 years"

How do I properly and cost effectively integrate payment systems into a website? What do I have to look out for? Which payment portals can you recommend? I have a general hatred towards PayPal, am willing to integrate it though, I want to be able to handle credit cards and as many other payment options as possible (I am based in Europe - Austria). I also want to support payments via Monero. I have experience building websites from front to backend and have handled credentials and stuff like that before in a professional environment but never integrated any payment systems so I'd appreciate links to resources, recommendations and tips for doing so in a safe and cost effective way. Thank you.3

When you receive a support request for a your product that extend another product.
After few emails you get the access on the website and you discover that is using an old version of the software that you extend and that your support is crappy on that.
Never forget to ask before everything the version of stuff to save time.
Also don't hesitate to give a reimburse for this case or suggest for an update so you can sleep better and maybe ADD AN ALERT FOR THE OLD VERSION THAT YOU FORGOT TO DO on your release. -
Im going to shove their soapy WordPress plugin up their ass sideways.
Just had to reverse engineer a WordPress plugin communicating with a SOAP API.
Why? Because the stupid fucking retard company thinks "we do not support custom integrations at this time, only plugins for certain CMS and some external providers" IS IN ANY WAY AN OK THING? IT IS NOT.
And i am feeling ashamed for having purchased a WordPress plugin (100 bucks) just for reversing it. My server even has to Report to them as wordpress to get access.
So fucking typical for swiss companies
Edit: also, they state they DO support custom integrations on their main website :/ -

tl;dr: azure support are utter bollocks
so about late june-ish, my azure student subscription expired, which i wasn't notified about. but that's fine, surely once it's expired i can get my data back, right?
...right?
i try to download the .vhd file with my nodejs project on, and then contact their support after failing to mount the vhd. i asked them whether they could get my data for me (or at least provide some clear instructions, in case i mounted the vhd incorrectly). instead i was told to do loads of things, creating blobs, making snapshots, etc... all of which did absolutely nothing.
mid-august, i'm still trying to get my data back, when i get a call from, you guessed it, microsoft azure. a manager had told me that all my data had been lost, and that i was eligible for $500 in credit in compensation. i was angry (and rightly so), and refused their offer. i emailed azure support again expressing my anger, for them to tell me that my data wasn't lost...?
come to mid-september, and and i was fed up of waiting for my project. i wanted to finalise the fucker and launch the website, but azure had stalled me for well over two months. i had to put some money towards azure just to start up the vps, zip up the project, transfer it to another vps, and shut it back down.
and that kids, is why i wouldn't ever recommend azure.
ps: yes, i'm backing up files daily from now on1 -

Dune Nectar Web Expert, a team of ethical hackers and cryptocurrency recovery specialists, recently facilitated the successful retrieval of my lost USDT, which a crypto exchange website had fraudulently obtained. Their years of expertise proved valuable during the recovery process in securing my lost USDT from this treacherous cryptocurrency exchange platform. The process was a bit sloppy and bumpy along the road as the platform wasn't willing to let go of the USDT in my wallet, however, after Dune Nectar Web Expert engaged them in full-force tech, it all ended with me recovering my lost USDT back. There are tons of malicious crypto exchanges on the internet ripping people off their digital assets; I will advise anyone or team trying to trade or invest in any crypto exchange platform. As an IT student at the Australian National University (ANU), I’ve always been passionate about technology and its potential to transform businesses. One of my goals was to create an online shop to sell handmade crafts, a side hustle I had been dreaming about for months. I knew how to develop a website, so I felt confident about the technical side of things. However, I quickly learned that building a website was only half the battle. Finding a reliable hosting service was equally important. One evening after class, I decided to take the plunge and set up my online shop. I searched for hosting services and stumbled upon a company that promised incredible features: unlimited bandwidth, 24/7 customer support, and a 99.9% uptime guarantee all at an unbelievably low price. Excited by the offer, I signed up and paid AUD 5000 for a two-year plan. At first, everything seemed fine. I set up my website, uploaded product photos, and even processed a few test orders. But within a week, things started to go wrong. My website would crash frequently, and the customer support team was nowhere to be found. Emails went unanswered, and the phone lines were disconnected. It didn’t take long for me to realize I had been scammed. Feeling devastated, I reached out to CRANIX ETHICAL SOLUTIONS HAVEN, a company specializing in tracing online fraud. I provided them with all the details of the transaction, including emails, receipts, and the fake website’s URL. Their team worked tirelessly to track down the scammers and recover my funds. To my relief, they successfully retrieved my AUD 5000 and provided me with advice on how to avoid similar scams in the future. This experience taught me a valuable lesson about the importance of due diligence when dealing with online services. As an IT student, I should have known better, but the allure of a great deal clouded my judgment. Now, I always research companies thoroughly, read reviews, and verify their credentials before making any payments. My online shop is finally up and running, hosted by a reputable provider, and I’ve even incorporated this experience into my studies, focusing on cybersecurity and fraud prevention. It’s a reminder that even in the digital age, trust and vigilance are essential.

HIRE A LEGITIMATE SPECIALIST FOR STOLEN ASSET-FUNDS RETRIEVER ENGINEER
Early 2025, I resided in the vibrant city of Austin, Texas, where the burgeoning tech landscape had ignited my interest in cryptocurrency investment. After years of diligent work as a software engineer, I had amassed $45,700 from my salary and a lucrative side venture developing mobile applications. Eager to secure my financial future, I was enthusiastic about exploring investment opportunities in the crypto market. One fateful day, while perusing online, I encountered a seemingly legitimate investment platform that promised extraordinary returns on cryptocurrency investments. The website was impeccably designed, and the testimonials from purportedly satisfied investors appeared authentic. Fueled by confidence, I made the impulsive decision to invest my entire savings, convinced I was embarking on a prudent financial endeavor my exhilaration swiftly morphed into despair when I attempted to withdraw my initial investment. The website became unresponsive, and my inquiries to customer support were met with silence. It soon became painfully evident that I had fallen victim to a sophisticated scam. Desperate to reclaim my funds, I embarked on a quest to investigate the scammer's identity and track down the elusive website. I made the regrettable choice to invest an additional $10,000 in Bitcoin, hoping to enlist a private investigator to assist in tracing the scammer. Unfortunately, this only led to further frustration and loss, as I realized I was entangled with a well-organized criminal enterprise that had expertly concealed its tracks. Feeling utterly defeated, I stumbled upon an article that extolled the virtues of FUNDS RETRIEVER ENGINEER, a group of ethical hackers renowned for their prowess in recovering lost funds from online scams. When I first got involved in crypto, I was excited by the potential for growth, but I never imagined it would end in such a nightmare. I had found what seemed like a trustworthy investment opportunity, one that promised incredible returns with little risk. After weeks of careful research, I took the leap and sent a large sum of money to the platform. Everything appeared legitimate: a professional website , user testimonials, and even responsive customer support. But then, overnight, the platform vanished without a trace. The website was gone, and my emails went unanswered. I was left in shock, staring at an empty screen, wondering how I could have been so naive.I felt foolish, embarrassed, and completely powerless. I couldn’t believe I’d fallen for such a blatant scam. For weeks, I tried everything by contacting the platform, reporting the scam to authorities, and even reaching out to other so-called recovery services. But each attempt only deepened my frustration. I was met with either silence or more false promises. My hopes were dashed, and I began to believe I’d lost everything. The financial and emotional toll was overwhelming, and I was ready to give up, convinced there was no way back.Just when I was about to lose all hope, I came across a recovery team called HACK SAVVY TECH. Unlike the others, they didn’t make lofty claims or promise instant results. They offered a more thoughtful, strategic approach—one that was based on careful investigation and tailored solutions. They understood exactly what I was going through, and their empathy was genuine. What really set HACK SAVVY TECH apart was their transparency and honesty. They didn’t overpromise or make any false assurances. Instead, they worked with me every step of the way, explaining their process and providing regular updates. HACK SAVVY TECH utilized advanced techniques and industry knowledge to track down traces of the scam. They worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and over time, I began to see progress. While I didn't get all my money back, I was able to recover a significant portion, and more importantly, I regained my sense of control. It wasn’t an easy journey, but the support and professionalism of HACK SAVVY TECH turned my nightmare into a lesson in resilience. It gave me hope again, proving that even in the darkest times, there can be a way forward.

Does anyone here have experience with the eBay iOS or Android app, specifically with setting up alternate payment gateways on eBay (other than PayPal) to collect payment on purchased items? I have a client who for various reasons can no longer use PayPal to collect payment on eBay. On purchases made via the website on Desktop there are no problems with Authorize.net. But when people try to purchase via the app specifically, they are given a stupid and unhelpful message to use the desktop browser purchase experience instead. For the client it is costing about 60% of potential eBay sales.
Everything I’ve been reading on eBay’s own forums and elsewhere shows that this is an ongoing and unsolved issue for a lot of store owners and eBay seems to be in no hurry to remedy it. I’ve been over this several times with multiple eBay support reps but all I get are inconsistent and misleading answers. Or maybe I’m just not asking or searching right and the answer is out there somewhere. Any advice? -
How to choose the best writing service?
Choosing the best essay writing service at (GoEssaywriter dot com) involves several key considerations to ensure you receive high-quality, original essays that meet your academic needs. Here's how to select the best essay-writing service:
Reputation and Reviews: Look for a service with a strong reputation and positive feedback from previous clients. Check independent review platforms and testimonials on the service's website.
Writer Qualifications: The best writing services employ writers with advanced degrees and expertise in various fields. Ensure that the writers are capable of handling your specific essay topic.
Samples: Request or look for samples of previous work to gauge the quality and style of writing. This will give you an idea of the standard you can expect.

Revision Policy: Check if the service offers free revisions in case you need changes to the essay. A good service will be willing to make adjustments to ensure your satisfaction. -
LEADING BTC RECOVERY COMPANY-CODER CYBER SERVICES
As a real estate investor, I am always cautious about where I put my money. I’ve learned the hard way that not every opportunity is what it seems, so I usually take my time to do thorough research before committing. When I came across an online platform offering exclusive property deals with high returns, I was intrigued but skeptical. The website, realatorsCA com, looked professional, and the salesperson was incredibly persuasive. He explained that the investment would be used to buy land, develop it by building properties, and then sell them for a profit. This seemed like a solid business model, and the idea of earning profits from such ventures was appealing. After weeks of research, checking reviews, and asking questions, I decided to invest CAD 42,700 in what seemed like a promising opportunity. At first, everything seemed fine. I received regular updates about the projects, and my online account showed “profits” from my investment. Everything appeared legitimate, and I was optimistic about my decision. The website offered easy access to my account, and the platform seemed to be functioning just as advertised. However, when I tried to withdraw some of my funds to see how the process worked, the website suddenly went offline. My attempts to reach the customer service number went unanswered, and eventually, the phone number was disconnected. At that point, I realized that I had been scammed.I felt devastated and helpless. It was hard to believe that I had been tricked, especially after doing so much research. But I didn’t give up. I reached out to Coder Cyber Services, a company operating in Banff, Alberta. I provided them with all the details I had: the website, transaction records, and emails from the scammer. Their team was incredibly supportive and assured me that they would use their expertise to help recover my funds.Coder Cyber Services used advanced digital forensics to trace the scammer’s digital footprint. They identified the offshore account where my money had been transferred and worked tirelessly with international authorities to freeze the account. Within a few weeks, they successfully recovered the full CAD 42,700.The relief was indescribable. Thanks to Coder Cyber Services, not only did I get my money back, but I also learned valuable lessons on how to avoid future scams. Their expertise and support were a lifeline in a time of need, and I’ll always be grateful for their help in recovering my investment.Their website is available for more information concerning the company or rather send them a text +1 (672) 648-1781

RECLAIM STOLEN CRYPTO REVIEWS. HIRE DIGITAL TECH GUARD RECOVERY
Cryptocurrency has emerged as a transformative force in the financial world, attracting both investors and opportunistic scammers. I met a fraudulent website, coexus pro, exemplifies the darker side of this digital currency landscape. The site claimed to offer daily returns through an "arbitrage trading crypto bot" and misleadingly adopted the branding of a reputable cryptocurrency exchange, which initially instilled a sense of trust. Eager to take advantage of the promised 1% daily return, I deposited a significant amount of money. For the first few days, everything appeared to be going smoothly; I received the expected returns and was able to withdraw funds without any complications. This initial success made me increasingly confident in the platform, leading me to believe that I had made a wise investment. My optimism quickly turned to dismay when I attempted to make another withdrawal. I was informed that my account balance had fallen below their liquidity requirement, and to resolve this issue, I needed to deposit additional funds. Trusting their claims, I complied, thinking it was a minor hurdle. Unfortunately, when I tried to withdraw again, I was met with the excuse of "blockchain congestion," which they claimed would delay my withdrawal for 24 days. As days turned into weeks, I grew increasingly anxious. After 50 days of waiting, I reached out to their support team once more, only to be confronted with yet another demand. They claimed I needed to pay 15% of my account balance for "technical support" from the "Federal Reserve’s blockchain regulator. "It was at this moment that the reality of the situation hit me hard: I had fallen victim to a sophisticated scam. The website eventually went inactive, and I discovered that the scammers had simply transitioned to a new site, maintaining a nearly identical layout to continue their deceitful operations. In my search for answers, I turned to social media and found a review from another victim who had experienced a similar ordeal. This individual shared how Digital Tech Guard Recovery had successfully assisted him in recovering his lost funds. Inspired by his story, I immediately reached out to Digital Tech Guard Recovery for help. WhatsApp: +1 (443) 859 - 28862 -
Wizard James remains your greatest bet for retrieving bitcoin that has been scammed. A bitcoin trade and investment program I discovered on Instagram cost me £240,000 of my trading and investing strategy. My first investment was £50,000. I kept investing more money as I began to see profits coming in, and ultimately I became a victim of deception. I began to have my suspicions after making unsuccessful attempts to withdraw and looking at the plan they claimed was because of Brexit. Without help, I sent the reports to Instagram and my bank. Luckily, I found a bitcoin website where I saw a widow tell how she recovered her husband's retirement money from an online scammer via Wizard James Recovery. After I emailed Wizard James Recovery to explain my predicament, the expert began to work, and a few days later, they were able to retrieve every money that had been stolen from me. I want to express my gratitude to Wizard James Recovery for his outstanding efforts in recovering my lost cryptocurrency.

Is CBEX a scam? That was going through my mind for weeks when I mistakenly registered in a fake crypto exchange platform CBEX.sx pretending to be the original CBEX, I had already deposited more than a million dollars into my trading account when I realized it was the wrong website. I contacted the original website support but they couldn’t help me. I was deeply disturbed and devastated by this incident. It turned out they had cloned the website of CBEX, unfortunately this means my money is gone. I was scrolling the internet looking for ways to recover lost crypto funds when I came across Morphohack Cyber Service, a crypto recovery company. Morphohack was able to detect that it was a cloned phishing site used to deceive victims and steal crypto funds. I was shocked when Morphohack Cyber told me my funds could be recovered with their sophisticated malware and tools. I provided every information required for the transaction and wallet, and that was how Morphohack was able to recover my crypto funds without any hiccups. I was stunned by how quickly it took, Morphohack is simply the best.

I am Serinda, a resident of West Virginia, and I am sharing my experience of being defrauded by a cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme. A few months ago, I encountered a crypto exchange website that deceptively mimicked a legitimate crypto exchange, and their support team proved exceptionally unhelpful. Unbeknownst to me, I was ensnared in a cycle of incessant fee demands, purportedly required to access the funds they instructed me to deposit. They had fabricated a fraudulent exchange platform designed to lure individuals into depositing their crypto tokens with the promise of significant returns. Regrettably, I was oblivious to the deception. My realization dawned when the exchange website rejected my withdrawal requests. In desperation, I contacted DUNE NECTAR WEB EXPERT. They not only facilitated the recovery of my crypto funds but also educated me about the mechanics of the scam. While the experience was devastating, I am profoundly grateful for their assistance in retrieving my crypto tokens from that fraudulent exchange website and its team. I strongly urge everyone to exercise extreme caution and conduct comprehensive due diligence before investing or transferring cryptocurrencies to any website or team. Need help with selecting a proper backend and website frameworks. After trying out a couple identity verification service providers we were dissapointed with their lack of support (takes weeks to do minimal changes).
So now we are having discussions about building in-house id verification system. We already have libraries for ios/android apps (ZOOM lib for face recognition and another lib for data extraction via OCR from document picture). So what we need is a proper backend and then a decent web framework with proper ux/ui design for our web/ios/android apps.
Currently thinking what kind of backend framework should we choose? Backend's main responsibility is for each client registered from website to assign an api key and to create a database/storage where his users would authenticate via clients app and upload a picture and a video.
Also wondering what kind of framework for website apps (main web app, dashboard app where we display pending verifications, and of course verification app) to choose. Should be go for angular? -

HIRE THE BEST BITCOIN RECOVERY EXPERT; TRACK AND RECOVER LOST CRYPTOCURRENCY WITH CYBER CONSTABLE INTELLIGENCE
I was left in shock, staring at an empty screen, wondering how I could have been so naive. I felt foolish, embarrassed, and completely powerless. The financial and emotional toll was overwhelming, and I was ready to give up, convinced there was no way back. Just when I was about to lose all hope, I came across a recovery team called Cyber Constable Intelligence. Unlike the others, they didn’t make lofty claims or promise instant results. They offered a more thoughtful, strategic approach—one that was based on careful investigation and tailored solutions. They understood exactly what I was going through, and their empathy was genuine. What really set Cyber Constable Intelligence apart was their transparency and honesty. They didn’t overpromise or make any false assurances. Instead, they worked with me every step of the way, explaining their process and providing regular updates. Cyber Constable Intelligence utilized advanced techniques and industry knowledge to track down traces of the scam. They worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and over time, I began to see progress. While I didn't get all my money back, I was able to recover a significant portion, and more importantly, I regained my sense of control. It wasn’t an easy journey, but the support and professionalism of Cyber Constable Intelligence turned my nightmare into a lesson in resilience. It gave me hope again, proving that even in the darkest times, there can be a way forward.

Feeling utterly defeated, I stumbled upon an article that extolled the virtues of CRANIX ETHICAL SOLUTIONS HAVEN, a group of ethical hackers renowned for their prowess in recovering lost funds from online scams. Skeptical yet hopeful, I decided to reach out to them. Their website exuded professionalism, and the testimonials from previous clients were compelling. Upon contacting CRANIX ETHICAL SOLUTIONS HAVEN, I was assigned a dedicated recovery specialist who meticulously guided me through the process. They conducted a comprehensive investigation into the scam, employing advanced techniques to trace the funds and gather irrefutable evidence against the perpetrators. Within a few weeks, I was astounded to learn that they had successfully recovered approximately 93.5% of my lost investment. Not only did CRANIX ETHICAL SOLUTIONS HAVEN facilitate the recovery of a substantial portion of my funds, but they also took decisive action against the scammer's website, leading to its takedown. The authorities were notified, and the scammers were apprehended, restoring a sense of justice to the situation. with CRANIX ETHICAL SOLUTIONS HAVEN was nothing short of transformative. They provided the expertise and unwavering support I desperately needed during a tumultuous time. If anyone finds themselves in a similar scam, reach out to CRANIX ETHICAL SOLUTIONS HAVEN for assistance in recovering your lost funds.

If your crypto investment account is locked, compromised, or hacked, I recommend contacting ExpressHacker99 recovery firm. Last month, I sought their assistance after falling victim to a crypto scam that left me feeling hopeless and helpless. However, they proved me wrong by helping me retrieve the funds that were stuck on the fraudulent website. Losing money to the website was an extremely devastating experience, and I deeply regretted my initial decision to invest. Despite my wife’s initial opposition, I proceeded with the investment in hopes of securing long-term financial support for my family. Unfortunately, I lost a total of £117,000, which came from our family savings. To prevent my wife from discovering the loss, considering she had warned me about potential risks, I reached out to ExpressHacker99 via email at “EXPRESSHACKER99 @ GMAIL. I live in Dubai, a city epitomizing luxury, innovation, and rapid growth. Known for its iconic skyline, cutting-edge technology, and thriving economy, Dubai attracts people from all over the world, creating a melting pot of cultures and opportunities. With its growing real estate market, it has also become a hotspot for investors seeking profitable ventures. However, despite all its appeal, Dubai is not immune to the risks that come with the digital age, including online scams. Unfortunately, I learned this lesson the hard way when I fell victim to a fake online real estate investment scheme.I had come across an online platform that promised high returns from real estate investments in Dubai. The website appeared professional, with attractive visuals and solid claims of lucrative deals. Enthusiastic about the opportunity, I decided to invest a considerable amount of money AED 300,000. The platform made everything seem so legitimate, with detailed reports, customer support, and even seemingly real testimonials. As someone who lives in Dubai and is familiar with the local real estate market, I believed this was a solid investment opportunity. However, things began to take a turn for the worse after I made the transfer. At first, the returns appeared on the platform, but when I tried to withdraw some funds, I encountered strange delays. Soon, the website started malfunctioning, and the support team became unreachable. My investment appeared to have disappeared, and I realized that I had been scammed.
