Gentlemen,
Please take a look at the enclosed hard drive and let me know if you'll be able to transfer files/software from it onto a laptop. If so I'll send you a laptop so you can get it done.

So I leave about 300 GB of files to transfer overnight. Come back in the morning and the entire fucking transfer has been paused because there was one duplicate file and it wanted to know whether to replace it or not. WHY CAN'T YOU JUST KEEP TRANSFERRING THE REST OF THE FILES?8

The biggest face palm moment in my life..
A girl in my class came up with an app idea. She wanted to make an app using which we can transfer our battery charge using Bluetooth. We initially thought it was a joke, then she went out to defend herself saying "if we can transfer files why not charge? If you're in an emergency and your battery almost drains out, wouldn't you feel nice if your friend could quickly transfer you 30% charge?"
Liked it, then give me a ++ via Bluetooth...

The superpower to perform version control on reality. (Git)
Imagine this universe (the current branch), which is made up of a series of events (commits).
Having this ability to allows us to:
- undo events (git reset/git revert)
- reorder events (git rebase)
- transfer to another universe (git checkout)
- derive a new universe from current universe (git checkout -b)
- delete a universe (git branch -D)
- apply an event from another universe (git cherry-pick)
and my favorite:
- merge universes and their events (git merge)
we have to resolve conflicting events, of course.
What else? ;)8 -

This is just fucking awesome.
Bought a domain name from a local registrar today and now my personal details like full name, phone number and exact address are nicely on whois.
The cunts didn't even thing to ask me during registration if I want to make it private and there's no option to do that on their piss poor website.
Oh well, tomorrow will be the day that I transfer my new domain away from them. Last time I ever do business with these shitcakes10 -
Namecheap: *cricket noises for over a year*
Today: "hEy ThErE cOnDoR, yOuR dOmAiN WiL eXPirE iN 24 hOuRs!1! rEnEw NoW, yOU rEadY?"
Me: "No you motherfucking bastards, a bank transfer takes 3 days at least. Oh wait you don't even accept bank transfer, how convenient!"
And what if I didn't see that email right after your fucking craptacular automated notification system sent it to me, hmm? Don't you Namecheap of all companies know how fucking *vile* domain squatting on the .com is?!!
MOTHERFUCKING CUNTS!!! Jeopardize my domains like that *one more fucking time*, and guess who will be taking his assets to the sexist bastards that I tried avoiding for so long, GoDaddy! FUCKERS!!!21 -
What kind of braindead motherfucker at Google thought that it's a good idea to update the bus departures in real-time based on the current time and the departure of your first bus?! No Google, I didn't miss that first bus. I took it and now I have to transfer. Ever heard of that, certified motherfucker?! You don't have to reschedule the departures of my next busses to a later time for that!!16

A few days ago a friend of mine asked me to teach him to code. When I wanted to know which language he'd like to learn, he hesitantly replied "https".

What’s the difference between USB and USA?
The first one is used to transfer files from one device to another, while the other is used to transfer all your device’s data2 -

Got my new apartment and now need it hooked up.
So my dad (an experience developer) messages me and says the new apartment uses Verizon FiOS, $80 a month for TV + Gigabit internet
Well I checked the site and I see there's another plan: internet only at 50mbps... for $40
So I'm like "are you stupid?"
I don't need TV. If I really want, I'll just stream TV using THEIR login
And I don't need transfer speeds of 125 MB/s.... I ain't an online PVP gaming monkey
4MB/s is good enough...35 -
When your ISP tells you they will transfer your internet connection to your new house in one month and they give you 10GBs on your mobile phone.

CAN YOU PLEASE UPDATE TO 2018!!!
My bank just sent me a message, that they have a new service where you can send a private message to your banker.
I needed to transfer money, and didn't have my cheque book on me, so I sent him a message to please transfer XX dollars to account YY.
His response?
Please send us a fax.
A FAX?? ARE YOU SERIOUS??
And that is supposed to be more secure than a private message from your website, after you force me to change my password every 90 days with crazy requirements that only satisfy hackers???
I told my friend that he will get his money when the bank updates the century they live in ...13 -

App: "Oh, a new device logged in? Let's log you out from your old device. It's not like this feature you are trying to use specifically requires 2 devices to be logged on at the same time while I literally don't allow multiple devices to be logged on at the same time. You're welcome."3 -

Have you ever thought that even today, if you had a very large "file", say 10 petabytes, that it would take 74 hours on a 300 Mb/s connection to transfer it anywhere in the world , therefore it would still be much faster to fly it physically anywhere, even with the ~5 hour time to transfer it to some sort of drive(s) at 5 gigabits a second.9

Fuck the brains of circular dependency.
On a fresh install of OS X on my hackintosh.

3) Xcode dmg is on my Android. Opens Android File Transfer tool.
4) Error: File is larger than 4GB. Need to use adb.
5) Need to install android-platform-tools, which contains adb.
6) android-platform-tools is available in brew. Goto 1).

Interviewer = I, Me = M
I: What is your project all about?
M: It is about reading data from memory of a program and transfer it to output register via a dedicated bus attached inside CPU and then projecting data of registers onto LCD crystals of display.
I: Can you show the working of your project?
M: Runs "hello world" program

So as some of you know, I gave notice. my current company has me for 4 more days.
Why has my manager not given me someone to knowledge transfer to? Do they think I am bluffing? He even admits there is shit only I know!
Whenever I message him about it, he just ignores me. I guess if he wants me to do it later, I can in the weekends for $50 an hour? 🤔🤔8 -
Oh finally I figured out how to use SSH pubkeys! It's simple:
1. Generate a public key on client
2. Somehow transfer it to server
3. Put it into user's authorized_ keys files
4. Now you can login as the user whp has your key in authorized_keys1 -

I'm working on a project that integrates your Android phone with your PC. Stuff like file transfer, sending SMS and notification sync. I just had an idea for an awesome feature. Started researching and found that the Android API exposes exactly what I need. Full of motivation I started coding until I realized that the permission I need cannot be granted to third-party apps. Happened the second time. Fml

Spent an entire day just compiling a kernel with audio codecs for my cherrytrail laptop, first on my server for 9ish hours, then on my laptop, ended up deleting it all and starting over, because the final folder was 20+ gigs big (without modules) and the next instruction was to transfer all those files to what is a 32gb laptop, so I thought I fucked up, now searching more, it seems I just need the vmlinuz file once it compiled, I guess I'll compile it all again...13

I love how my University CSSE courses make it hard for Windows users.
Student: Is it possible use VALGRIND in Windows CMD?
prof: I don't know, I only use Linux command line. Next question.
All programs must compile and run on Linux using g++. So everyone using windows has strip the IDE bloat and transfer the project files over to the remote Linux lab every single time they compile and run.
Benefits of being a Linux user!5 -

Firefox and Chrome removing FTP support in 2021 was a terrible decision.
Web browsers were simply the more convenient FTP browsers, more than file managers, due to browsers' built-in multimedia capabilities like photo viewing and opening documents, distinct purple highlighting of already opened directories and files, browsing history, familiar mouse shortcuts like middle click for new tab, and no possibility of accidental writes due to a botched drag-and-drop operation or similar.
If I wanted to browse an FTP server in "read-only mode", web browsers used to be the preferred choice.12 -
Just spent an hour looking at the NYC Subway maps vs the direction Google wanted me to take.
Google found the most efficient way is to take E train then transfer to R which then goes back a bit like a U-turn to get to my stop.
Then looking at the subway map, I can just take the R train... Since none of these trains are express... How the fuck did Google think that A-B-C is faster than A-C....11 -

Well it's not really a work experience but that makes me think of that time I deleted all the fonts from school's computer (5y/o)... Well then the TA had to transfer them from another computer with a floppy disk, it took forever xD I felt like I was going to prison that day2

I wrote a file transfer thing to appease the initial idea that keeps coming back into my head every so often, like it's trying to haunt me. Problem: No mobile provider will let me test it, as it's meant to throw disgusting numbers of SMS messages at someone waiting for them. How many, you ask? Well, 1MB of data translates to about 8100 "standard-length" SMS messages. (Standardized length, non-"long" SMS messages are, at best, 70 UCS-2, 140 ASCII, or 160 7-bit characters.) It does work, though, as if I just write out all the SMS messages to files and read those in (in place of actual SMS messages, different delivery of the same data) it works flawlessly.
Why would I ever wanna make this? Well, T-Mobile seems to be more concerned with building new cell towers, rather than fucking fixing the ones currently working. The mobile data component usually dies for 8 or 9 hours a day in this medium-size city, but SMS still works, so... just use that to transfer data!5 -
Yesterday one of our clients gave us the OK to launch their annual financial reports, 4 minutes before stock market closed and most of us was heading home.
Problem was we didn't have the proper access to their servers, so I and a senior consultant just spent a few hours calling our client and their IT infrastructure provider.
6 hours later, a large bill from the IT provider for after hours work, the job was done. A job that would take 5 minutes of uploading and 5 minutes of database transfer. -
Stupid me.
We were on a time crunch for giving a demo. A friend wrote a piece of code and he said it was working exactly the way it should be and that we can directly transfer to my machine and run it. He ran the piece (on his machine to show me) and it worked.
I take the source from him transfer it on my machine (because mine was going to be used for the demo).
Demo begins, everything goes smoothly ...all up until the point of the last module demo. Alas, the transfered module didn't work. Tried debugging during the demo as everyone was cooperative and patient. Turns out I hadn't done an initial setup required for that module. Embarrassed! 😓
Should have tested before the demo. 😞
FML. But from that moment forward i make sure to test every code I get from others as well as the one I write.
For anyone planning to ask me, I don't remember what the piece of code even did. It was a small time side project with a company. Not revealing the company's name.2 -
Fuck you scp. I was uploading 6GB file to an EC2 server. Well, needless to say, "no space left on device" after all 6GB transferred was the biggest FUCK YOU moment. Seriously. Send the file size and check before you waste 30 minutes of my time. Oh, and don't read CLI command data as part of the transfer. You suck.8

I have only been working with this open-source tool for 2 weeks, but already found 2 bugs. The maintainer is also nice enough answering questions quickly in the forum and submitting the issues for me.
It's nice to be able to contribute something to the open-source community. Yay for me! 💯
Too bad that next week, I will transfer to another project and stop working with this tool.3 -
Few days before vacations ...

Not a rant, but I think it's really cool, so I just wanted to share this with you guys. I recently went to a small symposium by an alumnus of my university. I just saw Kickstarter's blog post about moving over to the Blockchain. They're doing it because, uh, protocols, or something. No joke, here's a direct quote from their post:
"You may have heard of HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) which helps you browse the web, or SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) which helps you send email. Protocols like these make up the unseen infrastructure of the internet. Imagine that, but for crowdfunding creative projects."
What the fuck does that even mean? The rest of the blog post is more of the same. They packed it full of every crypto buzzword they could find while also not actually providing any useful information.
Full article here, if anyone wants to read a headache-inducing pile of nonsense: https://kickstarter.com/articles/...9 -

I trolled my friend by telling him that there's a 100 MB data transfer restriction on Windows right now because of the Ransomware that's floating around the internet.

TIL that you can plug a mouse and keyboard into a Samsung phone and use it to interact with it like you would your finger. Now before you say this is such a useless feature, because of this, I was able to recover my backup from my screen shattered phone (really fucked it up so touch quit working) , and transfer it to another phone in a matter of minutes. To whoever thought of this, thank you so much :).1

MTP is complete garbage. I want mass storage back.
The media transfer protocol (MTP) occasionally discovers new creative ways of failure. Frequently, directory listings take minutes to load or fail to load at all, and it freezes up infinitely (until disconnected) when renaming an item, and I can not even do two things simultaneously.
While files are being moved, I can not browse pictures or watch videos from the smartphone.
Sometimes, files are listed with the date 1970-01-01 (Unix epoch) instead of their correct date. Sometimes, files do not appear at all, which makes it unsafe to move directories from the device.
MTP lacks random access. If I want to play a two-gigabyte 4K 2160p video and seek in the video, guess what: I need to copy it to my computer's local mass storage first because MTP lacks random access.
When transferring high numbers of files, MTP has to slooooowly enumerate (or "prepare" or "calculate the time of") them all, which might even take longer than mass storage would need for the entire process. This means MTP might start copying or moving the actual files when mass storage is already finished.
Today, the "preparing to move" process was especially slow: five minutes for around 150 files! How am I supposed to find out what caused this random malfunction?
MTP sometimes drives me insane. I want mass storage back, at least for the MicroSD memory card, which uses a widely supported file system.
Imagine a 2010 $100 Android phone is better at file transfer than a 2022 $1000 Android phone (or iPhone, for that matter).3 -
I feel like adding a new section to my contract mentioning that any uninformed delay in response, payments, or material transfer would cost an additional fee per day (except on public holidays and weekends).

Tl;dr: I'm a shitty PHP programmer, but even a shittier JS programmer.
I made a whole image upload system which has an elaborate login/sign up facility, checks the dimensions of an image, it's size, checks if it's broken, compares it to previous uploads to prevent duplicates, take comments, sorts them per user and stores it efficiently in a db and accesses it using PDO, not mySQL, displays it as a gallery, and even lets the users transfer images amongst them.
But I can't make a simple shopping cart in js.
Why? Just, why?3 -
I get a free year of web hosting from this web developer course I'm taking on Udemy, so I started setting that up and bought my own domain name from GoDaddy with a promo code. But before I can transfer that domain name to the site I'll be using for hosting I have to wait 2 months.6

KDE Connect is really a blessing. The fact that I can do everything and more with Android plus Linux combo than iOS plus Mac is superb. A client's representative (was an operations manager maybe; non technical guy) was explaining his legacy project (a knowledge transfer session), mentioned about using Azure for their new system.
One of the senior .net developer in the room interrupts this guy and asks "can you explain what do you mean by azure?"
I was like "what the fuck! did I hear it wrong" -
Not much of a SQL Dev, still an apprentice and had a basic run throughs. Client needed a migration script to run, which I was assigned. Took me a good 6/7 days to make, transfer over a secure (and VERY slow) network took 2 hours. Infrastructure 3rd party took 2 days to clear and run. After all that process. I then realise, I left the fucking rollback in1

So, I turned on my old phone to transfer all my p̶o̶r̶n̶ photos, and it crashed from the notifications.
And I understand that it's an underpowered device and notifications aren't expected to come by the hundreds, but how terribly misdesigned must a pubsub system like Push be for the client to crash? -
Today, after searching for 4~ hours for a solution to host a little script that would hide a private API key, I discovered Google Apps Script. What a fucking nice service. Seriously, check it out, you may need it some day.
Anyway I don't understand why Google wants to restrict network access from the Firebase functions when a shitty little script hosted on the same servers can run without any restriction in memory or data transfer. It also provides a cache service, I could save my whole photo gallery on it without them even noticing.1 -
I just got an offer to transfer to a better uni course!
I just finished my first year of "Computer Applications" which is kind of like computer science with software engineering mixed together. I've decided to switch my engine from OpenGL to Vulkan and my god damn brain hurts
Loader -> Instance -> Physical Devices -> Logical Device (Layers | Features | Extensions) | Queue Family (Count | Flags) -> Queues | Command Pools -> Command Buffers
Of course each queue family only supports some commands (graphics, compute, transfer, etc.) and everything is asynchronous so it needs explicit synchronization (both on the cpu and with gpu semaphores) too4 -

Went into the office today to turn in my badge and gun (security badge/parking pass and yubikeys really) since I'm pretty much being given my last week before changing jobs to do brain dumps for knowledge transfer, and fuck all else.
Found a jar of moonshine in a closet when I went to take my things. IT said I could keep it. Not a bad parting gift. -
I owe the Tax Man around $600. I could pay it in installments without interest, so wrote a small program to transfer $0.69 every day into their coffer.3

An european customer turned me down yesterday because I don't have a fucking paypal account and I'm too embarrassed to explain him WHY MY GOV BLOCKED PAYPAL 2 YEARS AGO.
He didn't wanna do wire transfer, god knows why. Now I don't know how I'm going to pay the bills next month.6 -
Wow WTF!
So for a new client, they have their domain on a registrar that has the most ugliest and confusing UI ever.
So I decided to transfer the domain to somewhere better.
Guess what, it takes 5 days for them to release the domain. The site would be down and I won't be able to proceed with my work until transfer is complete.
In hopes to speed up the process, I tried to create a ticket. There is no ticket system and their only available contact email listed is sales@shittiestdomainregistarever.com
I mailed them yesterday evening hoping for a reply.
Few hrs ago, I received a bunch of automated email on some ticket I never created.
The biggest WTF is that the To: on that email is some other customer's gmail address and I am CC'd along with a bunch of other customers gmail and hotmail addresses.
Seriously, WTF is this?! I'm glad I took the decision to move from them19 -
The mass surveillance thingy in the Netherlands is not something I want to do with, so I'm thinking of moving my droplets to London as I heard Germany might also implement something similar. I have two DO droplets that are relatively easy to transfer but I'm open to suggestions, should I move them?7

I adhere to the Socratic method. I don't like people in business who 'explain' things to others by stating "this is obvious" and "this is obvious" about various aspects of very business-specific rules.
No, it's not 'obvious', explain to me ad minutae how something works if you want to transfer your mental image to mine.3 -
Wouldn't call it a feature. More like worst practice. Data manager (and my boss at the time) kept using our website as a way to host large files 3rd party vendors/partners could download instead of using one of the many secure transfer methods out there to send them data. This was sometimes extremely sensitive data. No authentication or security that I could find. I went ballistic on him after seeing that.
-
Completely forgot to update what was going on with my potential role shift. Long story short, it was approved by the damagement. That’s nice.
I only have to get to a major milestone in my current giant of an IaC project and transfer enough knowledge to leave it in my current team mates’ hands. Looks like we’ll be there pretty much next week and I can switch at the start of 2023. Life’s good.1 -
So I am in a computer science class and we had a project. I was in a group of 3 people and since majority rules we were to make a game. However they have never ever done any ui work ever. So I was in charge of coding the entire game. And since they did not know how to use git we had to use Google drive to transfer code. But ling sorry short I switched on them and got an A and they had to redo it on their own.
-
Fucking Django is the only project thaat claims to be for perfectionist but actually is a steaming pile of spaghetti code, data transfer objects, configuration objects and useless wrappers and shit. I mean this shits made by adults with computer science degrees how the fuck can they get that shit so wrong?16

I don't know what to choose...
A no-brainer job in data input with security, stability and a chance of promotion or transfer to another area IT related far away in the future...
Or
An intership of one year, in systems analysis, with a 30% better salary but no guarantees after that...4 -
lol you can get now synchronous 25gbit fiber internet for home use from a swiss local provider. For $60 per month. That means you could transfer a whole M2. 1tb Samsung 970 EVO in 32 seconds.
The future is now. 😄
What would you do with that 25gbs up and down?32 -
Why is it that one loading screen/bar is so taunting... but several on various devices, simultaneously puts my mind at ease?
...or is it just me?
I don't mean the ominous, never fully complete, rotating circle shit... that's annoying with 1 instance and exponentially worse in multiples.
Seriously, those circle indicators (several varieties) genuinely make me want to... do things that shouldn't be mentioned cuz that'd solidify the case of premeditated.
I also enjoy my servers' preboot output, mass linux updates and generally any script output dialogs... it's like confirmation that everything is doing/where as it should.5 -
I tried to transfer some data off my mother's hard drive with several hundred gigabytes of photos and videos, which spanned most of her life.
I decided to format the hard drive I was copying the data to.
I formatted the wrong drive.6 -

What is REST?
The Legendary : Its stands for Representational State Transfer
Me : That's what i need right now.6 -
Spent last 2 days trying to get an upstream data file loaded. I've now concluded it's just corrupted during transfer beyond repair... But I got to practice lots of Linux commands trying to figure out what the issue was and fix it (xml parser was throwing some error about nulls originally)
vi, grep, head, tail, sed, tr, wc, nohup, gzip, gunzip, input output redirection -
Every day i wonder if i should just quit the dev life and write childrens books. I am imagining the skillsets should transfer pretty well.
Then i remember i have bills to pay -
ON THE PHONE WITH THE SHITTY HEALTH CARE PROVIDER THAT OUR COMPANY USES... THEY CANT PROVIDE AN EMAIL.... NOW THE GUY I GOT SAYS HE CANT ACCESS MY INFO BECAUSE OF A SYSTEM ERROR.... NEED TO TRANSFER TO ANOTHER GUY!!!!
WTF!!!!! DUMBASSES.... THEY SHOULD BURN IN HELL!!!!!!!!
AND I NEED TO GET A NEW JOB... BUT PROLLY WONT BE DOING THAT FOR AWHILE.... :( -
you know it's going to be a long day when you're slacking on your project by reading RFCs about transfer protocols
-
I needed a tool that was super simple to transfer email from a non-cpanel server to a new WHM-based VPS. Ended up coding one and launched http://transfermyemail.ca - have had a few server companies jump on board because they needed migration tools too! Was it worth it from a development time point of view? Not yet...maybe next year :)
-
I just wanted to transfer my domain from domain operator dns to other dns provider.
Now I lost control over my domain and it redirects to those fuckers website.
I thought fuck them, this is their last fuck up so decided to transfer domains from this piece of shit provider to any other.
It turned out you need to send request using post office or visit their office by yourself to get EEC (authinfo) code
Their office is 300km away but cause it’s fucking faster and more reliable then waiting a month for their mail with fucking numbers I will go and do it next week.
Let the fucking hell begin.
I hope those motherfuckers would food poison and shit themselves into their beds till end of their fucking life.
Fuck those fuckers.6 -
Realizing my currently degree plan will not transfer to a 4 year university where I can get my bachelors, I have decided to stop taking all tech classes and focus on the classes that will transfer such as English, Calc, History and Government.5

I have to do a transfer of about 2 GB of data from one remote server to another. Any suggestions?
My idea was to do multiple curl requests while compressing the data using gzcompress.
Preliminary testing shows that won't work. Now I'm considering putting the data in a file on our S3 bucket for the other server to obtain.14 -
Facebook, Google, Microsoft, and Twitter will now let you transfer data between their services.

Fuck sake my Apple developer membership expired on 23rd and I missed the deadline to transfer my app, is there anywhere I can beg to apple to allow me transfer the, the $100 for me will be devastating.
Also Apple is saying their WDS is unavailable right now, I guess Christmas?3 -
Just got a new work laptop which is absolutely awesome. Only bad thing is that i can't transfer the sticker swag :/4

Deadline was 2-3 days for product launch and doing distributed transactions was not an opinion as it requires heavy modifications.
I was doing money transfer app between one transactional system and one not transactional system so the way I did it was :
1. transfer money from one system to my app that was using Akka STM ( software transactional memory)
2. try to transfer money to second system
3. transfer money back on failure
There was no database, no state only transactional log as installing database would require to much time and paper work.
Sometimes transfer back failed so we need to look back at logs and search for money, it was quite easy cause there was error and there were not so many failed transactions like this.
About one or two in a month and everyone accepted that.
I started to write some sort of reconciliation thread but then was assigned to other work and it worked like this for couple of years transferring couple millions worth of transactions.1 -
So excited about my project !
It's about securing file transfer within local network.
Clients are android devices and there is a linux system as a server which handles file and public key transfer between clients .
Any idea about making it cooler ?10 -
Ever notice that both Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and the OSI model for data transfer both have 7 layers?
I have a layer three problem :/ -
That feeling when the feature your team developed needs to be transferred to the other site team. Someone's taking our baby 😭.
-
Finally, after days through hell I finally made it to scale the wordpress sites at 6.5k req/sec even at a reasonable price.
Through, the data transfer rate will be sky rocketing 😂2 -
Hi there, i'm new to AWS. i've running my python code in Lambda. Basically it's calling an http-request and processing the responding JSON to a CSV file. Now, what is the easiest way to transfer that CSV file to a 3rd party FTP Server?7

I need someone as a partner on this idea that I have. Preferably someone with UI/UX front-end experience along with security measures for secure file transfer and storage (involves sensitive documents). Comment if interested.1

Got fed up with my bank. Scheduled five daily payments to transfer $0.01 from my transaction account to my credit card every day each. Is it considered spamming their DBs?7
-
Copying something to a flash drive on a Linux system and then typing "sync", and then followed by more "sync; sync; sync" is the Linux equivalent of hitting the 'Refresh' button on a Windows machine after a transfer!
Bloody OCD! -
Well fuck you too windows, my disk is where it is suposed to be, even though the controller is broken. Even linux can still find it. Although it takes a while to load the actual transfer. Recovery of terrabites takes ages4
-
Tip: when doing transactions, don't pay as cash even if they tell you it is a requirement. Tell them you will pay via cheque or via bank transfer with a contract first with a seal from an attorney. You must have a valid copy first of the contract before doing payments. Also, get a photo of 2 valid IDs the person you are doing transactions. They require you personal infos and IDs? Require them also that.

I finished my graduation project
We developed app for skin disease classification, we used Flutter & Python for training the model on a dataset called SD-198
We tried to use Transfer Learning to hit the highest accuracy but actually IT DIDN'T WORK SURPRISINGLY!!
After that's we tried build our CNN model with a few of layers, we scored %24
We couldn't improve it more, we are proud of ourself but we want to improve it moreee
Any suggestions?
Thank you for reading.2 -
Hi y'all!
So I've just finished my prerequisite computer science classes (up to advanced Java OOP) and I have 7 months off until I can transfer to university. What should I do to maintain & get ahead with my engineering skills? I've started a class on git online already, but what else? Build on my Java skills with spring and rest APIs, or a different stack. I am really interested in mobile development and have made simple android apps before.
Thanks in advance! -
I need help understanding the differences in VM HDD images...
I use VHDs as I can mount them in Windows as the difference in speed doing large copy operations, bidirectional transfer, partition shenanigans, etc. inside and outside the VM is *HUGE*, but what's the difference between VHD, VDI, QCOW2 and VMDK?12 -
I would describe the day with all the soothing sounding adjectives I could find. You don't see this perfect weather in London. The sun rays through the glass walls seem very welcoming my intention.
My plan was to enjoy a couple of cups of coffee while getting boozed in some development works. How beautiful, right?
But alas! a manual rack transfer came in for HA....163 instances

I thought I'd actually stick with a Ubuntu for once. But, Elementary OS looks so cool... Apparently it is also quite fast and lightweight. I might actually put on the work to transfer from Ubuntu. Ugh.. I'll at least try and wait till I get my new computer and try it there.....3

It's 2023 and smartphone vendors' pre-installed file managers are slooooooowly beginning to catch up with the functionality that the third-party ES File Explorer already had in 2012.
Samsung's latest file manager "My Files" finally has a draggable scroll bar, background file transfer (one can browse files while a transfer is running), drag-to-select (which is still not nearly as fast as the instant A-to-B range selection of ES File Explorer which simulates shift+click selection on desktop), and even staying in the current directory after tapping on "Copy" or "Move" rather than going to the starting directory!
And finally, when copying or moving files to a MicroSD card or a USB-OTG device, files' date and time attributes are not discarded and reset to now, but the original date and time of the files are retained! ES File Explorer could do that with root access.
Dear Samsung, couldn't you have thought of these simple things a decade ago and saved your users lots of headaches?4 -
So just got off the train to transfer to goto work...
Wait no I'm actually going home, I'm off this week! Just happens that I need to get off at the same stop...
Moment of realization felt sorta weird... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -
Two companies arguing over whose software has failed during a data transfer will never go well.
Ps. The problem is definitely on their end :-p -
Fucking vagrant is supposed to streamline the fucking process and make everyone’s life easier, not ruin it with a shitload of bugs. Every fucking time!!! I’ll be better off using a USB, transferring the OS setup files at 2.0 speeds files, shoving it far up my rectum, shitting it the fuck out, and having the pipes transfer it over to you in the two fucking hours it’s taking me to fucking debug this clusterfuck.
-
So I have a friend who recently has been forced to graduate with an ordinary degree even tho he was on track on achieving a 2:1. This is Scotland, so it's for 3 years ordinary degree. Do you recommend a transfer to another university with 2 more years to get honours, or start applying for jobs and forget about honors?7

I heard a lot about phone scammers, every time I go to bank website I read message that they will call me and steal my money. I couldn’t wait to get my scam call.
Finally someone called me poorly pretending to be bank employee.
Scammer: We detected suspicious activity on your account, did you transfer xxxx amount of money to company yyyy ?
Me: Yeees ( waiting excited for more action )
Scammer: ….. thank you …… hang up
Next time I will try donkey sound. -
Had a talk yesterday about crypto and blockchain... Including NFTs... In that you could use real money like now to buy digital goods except you can transfer them and show them off anywhere online.
And well I'm suddenly wait... NFT + VR = Virtual worlds like Sword Art Online and Accel World....
Now we just need neurolink to work and then we'll have VR pods.... Like in the Matrix....
And then robots and machines will rule the world...
Oh fuck...26 -
Has anyone had to start undergraduate/transfer studies a little bit late? Need help with CV/Resume.
So, I dropped out of University because I had to move to USA. And now I am applying for University here in Massachusetts. (transfer my studies to be precise)
I have worked since 2014 as a developer (currently working) and I want to know how to structure my CV/Resume for University.
Do I need a simple one just like when I apply for a job, or a detailed one 2-3 pages?
Thinking of applying at Boston University, Northeastern & UMass. -
I will transfer my domains from Google Domains to Cloudflare or Namecheap tonight. What a disaster. I don't trust Squarespace. They are shady. Ugh. Google ruined another product. EDIT: GOOGLE SOLD ITS DOMAIN BUSINESS TO Squarespace.1

When you've been waiting for your domain name to transfer over to AWS for a couple days, and you're wondering why it's taking so long so you check on Route 53 and it says "We sent an email to me@you.com and we're waiting for you to approve the transfer."

I work on a telecom sales line but most of our calls are customer care or technical that end up pressing the wrong buttoon because they use a super strange phrasing so people get confused and we are obligated to try to sell them things. So most of the job is just transfer call to other lines.
So this lady calls
Lady: "I want to know how many MB I have on my plan"
Me: "well, you apparently have 16 GB"
L:"But in my contract it says I have 500MB"
M:"Yes, but when you subscribed you must have gotten some special deal, but don't worry 16GB is a lot better than 500MB"
The lady then gets really upset screaming if she pays for 500MB that's what she wants to have. I ask her to wait till I transfer, I talk to my colleague in customer care before transfer just to tell her that this is what the customer wants and to her not even bother to explain that 16GB is better than 500MB.
Out of curiosity I took a look at her data usage and most of their cellphones expend somewhere between 2 to 4 GB, so she will pay at least 20 or 30 Euros in extras from now on.2 -
Does a crypto exchange supporting cashout into fiat on a bank account exists, where you actually can get through the KYC process as a foreigner in a european country?
Asking for a friend who already tried
Nominex, Bybit, Binance, Bitmax and Kucoin - all either without ability to transfer funds to a bank account or KYC broken for foreigners.4 -
So I'm being asked to move to a different country for a couple of months. While, this would have generally been a fun thing, the deadline's pretty tight. Add to it the fact that the knowledge transfer is going painfully slow and I'm already being asked to finish tasks on tech/stack I've never ever seen before. It's a mess!7

I'm reading online that after I buy bitcoins from Coinbase, I should transfer it to a private wallet that is kept offline.
What would be a private wallet? Does that mean I have to download and keep the entire blockchain on my PC?
Also how would I transfer?
And best way to keep the private wallet secure? and not lose the key, password, etc?
And I guess main reason I ask was bc I saw this. Actually does this basically act like Coinbase? But they keep my wallet?

I think I'm reaching the point of being willing to take a pay cut to transfer away from this and any other place using MarkLogic. It's just the giant dumpster fire topping off the rest of this place.1

Hi everyone,
Does anyone have experience setting up email notifications for fail2ban?
I am trying to set sendmail MTA (mail transfer agent) to send an email with my gmail account when fail2ban bans an IP address but without success.
Any help is appreciated.6 -
Fuck domain re-sellers who don't know what they're doing, you fucking moron you do not need DNS if the Service provider is same as domain and hosting, all you had to do was to change A record with @/${Insert IP Address here} values, it's taking you ages to do that, fucking idiots.
I will probably ask to transfer the domain name to my account if that is possible.9 -
i want to find the person who proposed to force mtp in android for file transfers, and bash them in the head with a plush android toy till they're knocked unconscious.
all i want is to make a file transfer between my phone and my computer, and rather than plugging my phone's usb, i find it easier to set up an ftp server over local network. and when that doesn't work, i might as well hexdump the file, and copy it char-by-char manually, than use mtp.6 -
So I've got this old external hard drive that's on the verge of retirement. I bought a new one to move the content of the old one to, but it's a lot of data. (1+ TB)
Does anyone know of a good program that can do that reliably?27 -

fucking google drive. How to fucking transfer folder to another google drive without needing to download and upload? wtf how can it be that stupidly done. THere is such make a copy menu on file but not on folder. WHat are they smoking? will I go on each file make copy?1 -
$cash me outside, how 'bout that?
What do people use (I'm specifically interested in UK, but all answers welcome!) for P2P payments?
I like square cash, just so that I can say that. Monzo next, and the I guess direct bank transfer but only with a handful of people I really know. You wouldn't want to give it to stranger, and its a cumbersome process.4 -
Over the weekend, I made the move to use a flash as a repository (don't need no wires to repo!). Felt that needing 12 MB to store less than 2 MB was a little bit high.
So I figured "simple fix, I'll just reformat the drive from 32Kb allocation to something less, like 4Kb".
After 30 seconds of a single copy/ paste, the transfer was complete. Checking the size... accidently clicked "4096 kilobytes" instead of "4096 bytes". -
Is it just me or is it annoyingly finnicky to get an android device connected to Linux? I want to transfer files but its not getting mounted (unlike all my other devices like USB sticks/HDDs). And yes mtp is turned on on my device. How do you guys do that? Any convenient way? In this case I would actually appreciate a non CLI method5
-
Okok i cant find a decent solution on this so have to ask you guys; i have 2 ubuntu servers atm. I need to transfer some few mysql data from s1 to s2 when i press 'send' on my main site. So its available to use on s2 and then back if needed. How can i do this properly and secure?4

This is meant to be copied in the .bash_profile

I know it's not made to be resilient in any way, only fast, as fast as possible, but man, the memcache_tool script just made my life a million times easier by facilitating a complete data transfer between two memcache instances, allowing for a rolling update without any session data loss!
...One day... I hope it can be migrated to redis... But for now... Thanks lord for the dump command and the wrapper script <3 -
I would want the Super power that allows me to transfer all I learn or want to learn with a single touch.

Got so high I pretended I couldn’t speak and was lame to the train conductor when I forgot my ticket and fell asleep before transfer lmao5

Question for the crypto users here:
Is paying someone/getting paid via a crypto transaction better than getting paid through Wire/Bank transfer, where you're dealing with overseas payments?
Do you recommend people having a crypto wallet so they can get paid overseas easily?1 -

Did any of you have found a viable and reliable email hoster for custom domains that doesn't force you to transfer your domain(just setup the DNS records properly)?
And that can make programmatically possible write emails?13
