About 10 years ago my wife and I were buying a house. We found out late that we needed a lot more cash than we had previously thought we needed, and the deadline to deliver it was just a few days away. After returning home from my full-time gig at about 6pm, I took a break for a bit and then worked all night on a job for a client to make up the extra money. When 7am rolled around I had just finished up. Then I went back to work at my full-time job, and later met with the client to present my work. It was roughly 27 hours at a keyboard for me. That effort made it possible for us to successfully buy our first home. If you want something badly enough, make it happen!7

Well I was in search for an internship and there was this Remote one posted online giving Rs1000(14$) for a month.
All he wanted was a fully functional clone of Coursera with hosted on AWS with videos of around 2-3TB streaming from S3 in a month :)
I asked him about his AWS costs and he replied - "Use the Internship money I'm giving you it won't cost much."30 -
Today we were all called into a meeting and the CEO was livid. He went on a rage about how the CTO was wasting money on useless shit (GitHub Enterprise). He said I bought laptops for a reason if there’s a fire someone better protect our assets and code. He wouldn’t reason with us and went into github and deleted everything. The CTO was fired and no one is leading our team. Wondering if I should quit 😶

After my previous PC bursting into flames when I changed my input voltage to 120v on the power supply my dad never bought me one again this happened when I was aged 12. I was so much in love with computers that I would visit my friends who had ones at home and not leave till their moms asks me to. I remember collecting my lunch money and buying a Pentium 4 mb for dog cheap at a local store and as soon as I plugged in the mb short-circuited and died (I had the other parts as I was scavenging the junk yard for them). I'll never forget the moment I burst into tears seeing my hopes for a PC dieing. So after all the years passing when I was 16 I spent my whole summer vacation working in a construction site doing so much heavy work. There were days that my body couldn't bear and I just fell but somehow by the end of that summer I managed to collect enough money to assemble this 3rd gen dual-core. This is my baby. I'm using it till this date.
**Sorry about the bad English

So because of the sheer number of interviews I’ve been doing I’m starting to get a bit brazen with them since I’ve started to really not give a fuck about most of them and I’ve started to notice patterns in common lines of questioning resulting in this unexpected gem today:
Interviewer: So we always start our devs off on the bottom end of our salary band.
Dev: Either give me the top or I’m not interested.
Interviewer: 😡. But if we start you at the top of the salary band we’ll have nothing to give you later. 🥺.
Dev: No need, I’ll take the money up front. Companies don’t give raises these days anyway, it’s just a carrot to dangle in front of the naive.
Interviewer: 😡. Well if all you care about is money so focussed on money you’ll just leave if a better offer comes around!
Dev: All the more reason to give me the highest number possible to defend against that possibility.
Interviewer: 😡. But there are other devs on the team with similar experience that will be making less than you.
Dev: Sounds like they fell for the negging and guilt tripping you are currently attempting on me in order to save a buck. Salary is not based on your skills or experience anymore, it’s based on your ability to negotiate. Here’s mine.
Interviewer: ………………. I’ll pass you along to the hiring manager.
Dev: ???? wtf
HOW THE FUCK DID THAT ACTUALLY WORK ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME I WAS TRYING TO GET THEM TO HANG UP FOR SHITS AND GIGGLES AND NOW I’M LOOKING AT A 20K RAISE ALL BECAUSE I CONTINUALLY TOLD THEM TO GO FUCK THEMSELVES??? THIS IS ACTUALLY WHAT IT TAKES TO BE TREATED PROPERLY BY A COMPANY???12 -

My boss is technically my coworker.
I screamed my lungs out after it became clear that he didn't give a shit about employees that bring him money. After snatching all funds from a finished project on time, failing to deliver on the promise about bonuses (it's what I used to motivate employees to deliver the project on time), refusing to buy a new chair to replace the one held together by scotch tape and careful balancing, I decided to quit with maximum damage.
I screamed so that everybody would hear it. That encouraged another guy to get in with quitting, and within 1 month most of the team had quit, leaving the boss with a risk of lawsuits for prepaid contacts not delivered.
Knowing that piece of shit, he probably recovered and is treating other people badly, but at least every single person from the team experienced the biggest jump in careers straight after that.1 -
"You claim you are a developer and don't know what firebase is? Pfft"
Words uttered by one of my classmates flexing on some 4th semester college inmates. I don't know what's more annoying his squeaky voice, the pretentiousness of using headphones as a necklace during class or that I was just like him when I was a freshman (minus the low hanging fruit flexing).
God fucking damn, I'm not even mad at his obnoxious pampered kid semblance, it's the irony of this enlightened fago falling into the god forsaken rat race. Why?
Because he hasn't been magnanimously disappointed by one of the most corrupt systems I've ever been witness of, yeah keep talking about firebase to the teacher who just nods pretending she knows what you are talking about.
I've had this same teacher before and your nice asynchronous ES6 express nosql solution will come last compared to all the WordPress templates she'll approve because they are pretty and all the time you invested, yeah, right into the crapper, seriously it would've been more satisfying to just masturbate everyday until Christmas break. I'm not pissed at him, annoyed by his semblance maybe, but I actually pitty him because the system will take a big shit on his face and he's just smiling.
Damn it, all these careers ruined by lazy ass professors who think leaving a shitload of diagrams as homework counts as teaching. And before any quirky brother interjects with "oh maybe your University is shit", "muh University verry gut u suk", you shut the fuck up! I know my university sucks even tho is "one of the best ones" by the corrupt media's standards, I'm here to vent about issues, real fucking issues happening in real corrupt systems, I'm taking about professors sexually abusing students, not going to classes, no centralized teaching systems, fucking chaos.
I'm happy for you if you feel good about the piece of paper you hang on your wall that certifies you as Bobby the guy who not only learned a shit load about computers, he also bent his ass so far for us and payed us so much money for it, it's funny he thinks himself as smart.
I know, I know, you went to an ivy league college, have a wonderful job and owe some money, good for you, some are not so lucky and I'll make sure those lazy asses who take advantage of the system lose their jobs.
I'm so sick of this shit we call "moodern educashion"

This is my first post on devRant!
Story time:
It was on my first job as a developer, learning a lot but getting paid less than 50% of the minimum monthly wage of my country.
It was settled in the interview that as I gained more experience, I could handle more projects and earn more money.
At the time, I was living with my parents and didn't have to pay rent and some stuff, so I was like "Well, I'm gonna learn a lot and, if I put a lot of effort into it, soon I'll be making more money".
We agreed that I'll only develop, but 4 months into the job, I was already going to clients
and started coding there (having the client on my back every minute, not being able to work properly) and fixing some computer/network issues they had,
because my boss said I should do it.
Things at home started to go south, and suddenly I needed more money, so I kept doing the work and getting paid a little bit more
A year goes by, devs came and go beacuse of the work/payment situation, and I was still there.
From my first "paycheck" to the last day I never got paid on time, and that was the same for everybody else
The last month I was there, I had a job offer with a better salary and weekends free, so I wanted to take it (I worked saturdays there).
We were working at our biggest clients place at the time (a hospital, working in the server room, desk and chair were a total crap),
so I wanted to have a good conversation with my boss and tell him whats up, after all, I was really grateful for the job despite all things.
We headed outside and started talking. He basically begged me to stay, said that he will pay me on time and offered me more money (less than the other company was offering me),
and that he needed me to finish the implementation and "minor issues" with the app.
I thought about it for a couple of days, and decided to stay. I politely rejected the job offer, and even recommended someone else.
As the days passed, regret was building fast inside of me, until the day that I was supposed to get paid.
He never showed up to the client, told me in a call that he will be there sometime in the morning, that he had the money for me.
So I stayed until my day ended, and still no sign of him. I had no money on me, needed some for gas so I could go, and I called him 5 times.
He picked up the last time, talks to me like nothing is happening and I started to shout at him like I never shouted to anybody before,
got all the things of my chest, and when I was done, he said that he will send the money to my account right away.
This happened on a Saturday, so I quit the following Monday, and lost the other job offer.6 -
Fuck China.
Fuck the U.S. government.
Fuck the UK and Australia and all the other governments for taking advantage of the crisis of the last two years to get more power and money for their elites.
Fuck them all for starting COVID with their unsanctioned and unethical “gain of function” lab experiments and creating so much chaos that nobody really has a chance anymore at living the life they had dreamed of or so carefully planned for.
Fuck them for the out of control spending and money printing and inflation and even messing around with trying to regulate and tax crypto so we don’t have any kind of escape valve to live a normal, happy life.
Because of them, I can’t even enjoy my time off work. Even if I could plan a vacation that wouldn’t have to be canceled due to an outbreak or resultant supply chain issues, I can’t travel without severe restrictions that make it miserable and not worth the trouble.
Fuck them for making everyone into stupid monkeys fighting over opinions about data that is incomplete, misunderstood, misrepresented, or downright fixed toward a specific pharma-fascist authoritarian outcome.
And fuck them especially for being hypocrites and going to parties and generally not following their own rules they made for us when they think we’re not watching, and then persecuting and prosecuting us when we dare do the same.
Fuck ‘em all. I’m so done.13 -
Story of every failing tech startup (from personal experience, but a bit exaggerated):
Step 1: Come up with AMAZING idea that blows your mind!
Step 2: Run to investors to do presentation, continue to constantly repeat CLOUD, CLOUD, AI, CLOUD, MACHINE-LEARNING, MUCH WOW, MORE AI until investors are confused but mesmerized as fuck and decide to give you a shit ton of money.
Step 3: Hire all the developers you can find, a JAVA dev, a Python dev, a PHP dev, a Ruby dev, and ask them to get along with each other! I mean hey, they're adults right, they'll figure it out.
Step 4: Ask devs to launch the app, meanwhile, throw a LAUCH PARTY! HELLS YEA WE'RE ABOUT TO BE RICH BITCHES!
Step 5: Find out the hard way that no one needs a product that was launched! :/
Step 6: Pivot, and pivot next month again, and pivot again, and pivot in a middle of a pivot, and pivot pivot pivot pivot... and OH FUCK WE RAN OUT OF MONEY!8 -
Dead 💀 developer.
My first interview,
Back then was technical graduated local CompSchool. Call for a job newspaper, by phone ☎️ the Supervisor assign a date for interview.
In the office the developer guy was amaze because he will hire any from CompSchool he also was student and all stuff made was on the premised of he learned and worked on the company.
About half and hour talks, he write my name on a post-it and put on HR desk.
“Come back tomorrow morning .. tell me you got the job !”
Do so, entering the office next day, was a sad people talking.. the Developer is 💀 dead (drugged on a party).
So this guy “my name in the post-it” is our salvation for all the database, passwords, accounting, etc. and spell my name.
What tha... got the job, the money 💴, was 18 years old, with excessive income (dead guy salarie).
Worked 3 1/2 years for the company.
Thank you 💀 for the opportunity.9 -
Dad thinks i sleep all day and always tells me to get a job.
Mom doesn't know nothing about what i do
Wife thinks I'm talking to other women and have a fucking magic money tree when bills need to be paid.
Wife's grandparents think I'm a lazy piece of shit but ask me to fix their fucking tvs.
Mother-in-law: knows i make money working on the computer but not how.14 -
Suddenly it hits me.
It’s 01:20 here but i get it.
It’s ALL a budget thing.
No dedicated tester means less expenses.
No personal parkspot?
No expenses!
And no good staging or testing environment? Less expenses!
Meanwhile every developer can setup, work on, and maintain about 20 websites on their shitty local Windows machine, that doesn’t even have a proper SSD installed, and we are setting impossible deadlines to figure out who will sink and who will swim.
Ow, here is a SSD.. Figure out the installation yourself because we have no IT knowledge or budget for people that do.
You want a challenge? How about 40 other people that are distracting you all day long.
Meanwhile everybody has to improve their skills in js, react, html5, ccs3, angular, .net and razor so money can made faster.
It would be nice if you could build apps as well.
You had a question? Sorry, no time. Expect some feedback 14 days later.
You finished the site?
Great!
But here are 101 bugs to solve before next week.
All hail their crazy company!2 -
When I was in school I had some guys walk up to me and asked:
G: Are you Feeno?
Me: Yes, what's up?
G: We need our FY project on school management system done.
Me: Okay?
G: How much will that cost us?
Me: *confused because I was still a freshman. At that point the only programming language I knew was elementary qbasic. I couldn't even write a hello world program without the help of Google*
So played along because yes we're talking about money here.
Me: It will cost you guys N amount of money (*improvised deep voice*).
G: Okay. Fair price.
* Right there they transferred half the requested amount to me. *
Holy moly! This guys aren't joking around. I don't know shit! They clearly mistook me for a senior student whose first name is Feeno, to me that was a nick referred to me by my friends.
I'm in this one for sure and it's a do or die transaction cus I'm returning no fucking money. I told my friends what had happened and they insisted I return back the money to the students and admit I can't deliver the project they were requesting.
Fuck all of yah! I'm keeping this money. Same afternoon I visited the school library with the intension of writing the code using the help of YouTube tutorials. I didn't find anything useful for qbasic as I thought I could write a full fledged school management system using qbasic.
I was lucky enough to find an existing source code on Codeproject, God bless that Indian guy. The source was in PHP and the tutor gave a step by step guide to setup XAMP and MySQL. I really don't know PHP but I guess source code modification is a natural skill to all programmers as I was able to modify the code to meet the requirements of the students (i.e school name, logo and other minor changes).
Most of what I learnt in programming came from modifying the source of that project. I learnt how to connect a PHP source to a MySQL database, I learnt about functions and their usage, I learnt the basics of HTML, I really learnt a lot and I would say that the speed at which I learnt was proportional to the amount of pressure I received to deliver.
That was how my journey as a full stack developer started. By chance maybe.2 -
Apple products are fucking trash, I don't give a shit if you have money to waste, but don't fucking brag about how superior your 3000$ excuse of a fucking laptop is the best laptop in the world when you could easily afford a desktop with 2 1080 GTX in SLI for that price.
"but mac has lyk no bugs, its so good"
NO FUCKING SHIT, THE OS IS BUILT WITH THE HARDWARE USED IN MIND. THEY DON'T BUILD 500000 MODELS OF MACBOOKS, THEY JUST HAVE TO MAKE ONE MODEL WORK, AND ALL OTHER LAPTOPS WHO HAVE THE SAME HARDWARE WILL.
This is fucking ridiculous.
That's like designing a site, but only for Firefox because that's the browser you use and you expect everybody to use that browser. Obviously it'll work fine on your machine.
I am so fucking sick of Apple fan boys.
I am fully aware some of you devranters are apple fans, but this has been something I've wanted to say for ages, albeit i'm a little late to the party.
Stop wasting money on overpriced trash.28 -
So I made an android app for a client. It's a newspaper type of app for the clients webpage, as he has a lot of traffic on it and about 50-51% is from mobile. Which is all good an everything.
And so I've been working on it for a while now as it wasn't a primary focus, more of a like side project.
I was able to make full working build (publish ready) and sent it to the client for a review.
After about an hour I received an email saying that the app is requesting too many permissions from the user. So I started looking trough my manifest file and all of the 3rd party libs to see what were those permissions.
Well, when I finally installed the app on a physical device and looked trough the permissions in the settings all I found were permissions for the internet and prevent the phone from sleeping.
After asking the client to tell me in detail which permissions raised concerns he told me it were those 2 and if they could be removed.
So I just wasted an hour of my life trying to explain why the app that is losing content from the internet needs internet permissions.
Fml and ignorant people who think they know everything and won't accept anything else.
And all of this because he read on some click bait website how a "real" app doesn't need any permissions and every other is just trying to steal all of your data and money.

I'm currently looking for an internship related to machine learning (finishing my Msc).
WHY ON EARTH ARE ALL (or at least 80%) INTERNSHIPS PROPOSALS ABOUT BANKS, FINTECH, INSURANCES AND SO ON ?
I mean, we can now create music, identify tumerous cells, generate realistic pictures of anything you could dream of, drive cars without human interaction, create amazing chatbots... But no, I guess all that shit can't make enough money, better work on a system that will refuse you a loan.
Makes me really sad. I mean whats the point of studying the coolest techs around if it is not for the greater good ?
I might be utopist though.rant i guess those tags have no limits selling your soul to the devil love you all you have no power here machine learning5 -
I got a crap raise — lowest I’ve ever gotten anywhere, and well below inflation — despite busting my butt, having somewhat better health and therefore productivity, etc.
I complained to my boss about it, and said it was insulting. He said that direct managers have zero say in raises, and instead it’s entirely up to execs and HR. Makes sense, since nothing makes sense at this company.
Anyway, he apparently talked to his boss, who talked with his boss, who talked with the execs and HR, and they decided to give me a raise on my raise, a whole $1k/year more, all the way back up to the usual insultingly-low 3%. Yay.
Their reasoning?
“Money is tight.”
The last all-hands?
“Record profits! Record sales! Record numbers across the board! And most of all: record profits! Give yourselves a round of applause for making this all possible!”
Money is tight, eh?
I hope they get smushed by a meteor, given a snuggle-struggle by a roving Somali gang, or kept warm for the rest of their lives by another Hawaiian/Californian wildfire.14 -
Yes, I love my parents.
But every fucking time I plan to buy a PC they will make some noise. I am not even touching their money to buy it yet they will make a fuss about it.
"All my son does is sit in front of computer whole day"
Sorry father but I am doing the same thing in my job. They are young enough to know what I am doing yet still keeps ranting on me.
I still love them but this is so annoying sometimes.6 -
Should I Close-Source my project?
I have been working on a Desktop/hacking simulator game and up until now the project has been Open-Source. I'm at a point now where I haven't gone too far to turn back.
Last night I got to thinking about my game, and what I want to do in the future. The game will always remain Free, but I might sell it to another company later down the line, something I can't do if I stay Open. I want to makea good game. And I don't want to do it for money (because that has never worked out for me in the past) but I want to *be able* to make money if I wanted to. I mean, I have been told by several developers that my game will be "ground breaking/a worldwide phenomenon/a Minecraft competitor" while being Open is one of my main selling points, besides populatity, what do I have to gain? I said I don't want to develop for money (mainly because the pressure gets to me) but I'm so poor I'm almost literally starving. I make $3/mo from Patreon and survive from donation from relatives. I feel like I need this. But I also feel selfish. Information should be free, ya know?
Idk.. This started serious and turned into a ramble.. Guess that's what this app is all about.
Leave your opinions below.25 -
Why do so many people waste their time and their computers turning coal into heat? It really pisses me off.
Often I meet smart guys who are fairly decent coders and after what starts as an interesting conversation is instantly destroyed by cryptocurrency.
It is *exactly* like enjoying a discussion of the intriguing nuances of quantum chemistry only to have the guy say, "thats all cool, but how do you make meth?"
argh.
You want to use your decked out rig to make money? Fine. But please help us solve important problems instead of literally wasting electricity. Just google search "supercomputer physics" and you will find a thousand current problems requiring extremely fast computers for number crunching. All of them can make you more money than crypto and all of them help society at the same time.
We burn coal to make most of the electricity on this planet. Most coal stations burn around 20,000 tons of coal per day. The world burns about 250 tons of coal every *second*. This is converted into carbon dioxide. (coal = carbon, add two oxygens when you burn it, producing three times as much mass in CO2, which then goes out the smoke stack)
The big picture is this: currently we are forced to burn coal to make the world work. Turning off the boilers would result in an almost instant apocalyptic collapse of society. BUT, we don't need to burn it merely to produce waste heat in your video card array.
Please use your superpowers for good.

Once a CEO is 24*7 a CEO. For me it's Chief Experiment Officer
And only dreamers can have that title. One who dreams at night and work it out the following day.
Having a startup is much more than just having an idea
It's about revenue,
It's about value,
It's about team,
It's about impact,
It's about growth,
It's about compliance,
It's about being finance, marketing, HR and tech expert at the same time.
It's about respect the supporters,
At the end it's about the money you earn as an individual.
For playing all the above roles, you need to dream real big.
To me startup is about falling in love with your work first.

What I really like about all these growing startups/platforms like airbnb, netflix etc, is that they open source their cool technologies so that anybody can use them. If you look through their github repos, you can find a lot of cool and interesting stuff and especially it's mostly already battle tested and it works.
Imo this is some really big contribution in turn to the money they make :)2 -
[Dark Rant]
I'm sick of this stupid tech world.
Don't get me wrong, I love tech. I just can't stand anymore the global brainwashing that we're part of.
Think about all the huge companies making profit on our data. For a better service, yeah sure, but do we really understand what the cost is?
Ok sure, you don't care about your data because you trust these companies and the advantages are all worth it. What about the fact that we are all forced to buy the next new smartphone after 2 years?
Like if removable batteries were a problem for us, users. Or like the audio jack. Because now someone decided that the pricey wireless headphones are Just What You Need™.
Do you think you own your smartphone?
No, you don't. You are paying a bunch of money for something that soon will be just a useless brick of glass and metal which you can't repair. But you'll be happy anyway.
Someone is so happy to the point that they will defend their favorite company, doesn't matter how they decided to stick it into their ass.
Open your eyes, you've been brainwashed.25 -
Long rant, sorry.
I’m pretty upset, or let’s say: I want to kick asses and chew gum but I’m all out of gum(The duke TM).
Yesterday we had a discussion in the office about salary basically.
Context: The company has about 150 employees and earns a lot of money. I’m the lead dev for about 1.5 years since I joined.
So I talked to our CEO/HR about a raise since I was hired as a normal fullstack dev(title is lead dev now) but have to:
train my junior(PHP), frontend guy(react), our QA(Automation with cypress atm), our junior devop(gitlab, jenkins, docker) and even assist marketing with GTM and adword campaigns.
I’m a jack of all trades basically since I was a freelancer for big brands for a long time.
I’m fine with helping/training, I like it a lot but I still have to watch everything and be fast with my own stuff. If anything goes wrong, people call me.
That will change since I train them all(They will all be independent soon) but still, doing everything for the same pay feels wrong.
Bottom line: CEO told me it’s cool that they can use all my skills but I won’t get a raise.
The worst/strangest was: My coworkers heard about that(as always in an office) and were like: Everybody should get paid equally because we’re all a team. Uhm, ok?
I just contacted the head hunter which got me that job. I guess I’ll just see what the market has to offer.
It should never be about money but this was confusing. People telling me we should all be equal who are on their mobiles 3h a day and feel underpaid. Check yourself, really.
People who think their pure presence is enough.. Germany -.-25 -
A friend wanted me to build him csgo gambling site in a month, just about the time all of the controversy was happening.
He said - create it for me please and if we succeed I'll give you part of the profit, there will be money for you.7 -
Applied for a company and received a contract today. I can't believe what I'm looking at. (Graduate software engineer)
- £30k starting salary
- 28 days annual holiday
- no benefits whatsoever
- no work schemes
- reserve the right to tell you to work overtime without extra pay
- reserve the right to work you from home on weekends in emergencies
- you will only work on what they tell you to and nothing else
This company has awful reviews all over the internet which I didn't see until after applying.
Going into their offices for interviews, all I saw was a bunch of slaves on their screens, no one talking, no one smiling.
Spoke to the CTO whose words were, quote: "we only care about making money, we don't care what people are saying about us as long as they are using our service and paying us."
What the actual fuck?15 -
Well, I guess all the Linux folks are going to know what I am talking about. Do you know this feeling (Yes, you know. Don't tell me anything.) when you use Linux and nobody else uses Linux in your Work/School. And these people come to you and say.
Stupid people : Oh! You use Linux. That's bullshit!
Me : No it's not. It doesn't do 24/7 updates like Windows.
Stupid people : No, Linux is bullshit you don't have money for Windows. And Linux can't run professional Applications.
Unfortunately there is no medicine that cures dumbness. Just saying ...
I'd rather stay not dumb like these people instead of buying another Windows license.24 -
Hackathon rant.
So I had my first hackathon ever.
It was about co2 reduction which is pretty neat but our team leader had a different view on this. He only saw money in his idea so we build a smart energy meter that advised the user on how he should control his energy. And if the user had solarpanels or something his overtake of energy would be converted into a crypto currency and transferred by our Blockchain system.
The idea is pretty cool but it had no real co2 reduction and way too customer based. Which kinda sucked for my first hackathon but our business guy gave a amazing overwhelming pitch about stuff we didn't make at all. And somehow we ended up on the third place yay

WHAT FUCKING PAYMENT PROVIDER SENDS ALL THEIR TECHNICAL STAFF ON VACATION?!?!?
Leaving customer service to tell me to "wait until they get back... In three weeks"
Unbelievable, I'm actually thinking there are laws and regulations about this if you are providing money handling services, but the sheer stupidity in itself!!2 -
So today I realized that Im not happy.
When I was a kid I wanted to do many things because I had time and energy but I had no money. Now that Im an adult and I have the money, I have no energy and no will power to try and have personal life in these few hours left of my day. I spend 9 hours at work everyday and totally 1hr 30min is wasted on commuting.
I spent 4 years in uni between lectures and working on my side projects, and I really believed that after uni I will get a job and my life work balance will improve.
After uni I spent 2 years working abroad in 3 jobs at 3 countries. I work as android dev and now Im making a really decent salary.
However Im not happy at all. I realized that life is not about the money. Im changing countries like socks and dont even feel the need to socialize or enjoy my life anymore. Im european and these other eu countries are not that different at all. It came to a point where relationships are meaningless to me. I became an office drone who cares only about work and outside of work I care only about my projects and more work.
At this point im only 25 years old with around 2 years of experience and money is really good, but fuck it Im so tired of being an emigrant and having no stability in life. Im so drained. I spent past 6 years (4 in uni combined with side projects and 2 years working in 3 jobs in different countriee) working my ass off and lying to myself that after the next big thing Im gonna take a break and enjoy life. But its never enough. I dont want to hit 30s or 40s and realize that I wasted my life on pursuing money and didnt get to enjoy life..
Im really considering taking a 6-12 months vacation. I need to find myself. Probably going back to my own country. Just learn how to enjoy life, attend workshops, get to know new city area, meet new people, do some interesting hobbies. Maybe do a little freelance (max 10hrs a week).
Im tired of feeling like I need to make as much money as I can and learn as much about my work as I can. Its not rewarding because its never enough.
Whats the point in that money if I cant enjoy it?4 -
I don't understand all this chat about misrepresented groups in tech. Why is it that this forced inclusion as reached even the tech community... Personally I have no problem working with anyone, but yeah...
...in 10 years, I never worked with a female colleague, never with a black person, never with a transgender/unicorn... But I would have absolutely no problem sharing with them... Every person Ive work with so far has been very passionate about tech and software and they sure worked their asses off to have the position they have, learning everyday and coding long hours...
If you're 'misrepresented' grab a fucking book, Google, train, fight, find your way... I never had enough money to study a degree but I loved CS so much since a kid I just made myself a fucking programmer and now I'm a white, straight, male working in IT, so fucking what.39 -
How Can I Recover My Crypto Sent to a Scammer / Go to iFORCE HACKER RECOVERY
After being defrauded of my whole funds, losing all of my assets to a cryptocurrency investment scam, and becoming bankrupt after borrowing from everyone in my vicinity, I was in a bad financial situation. I thought I was going to die until I looked up iFORCE HACKER RECOVERY online. They are a bitcoin recovery company that has helped a lot of people get their money back.I got in touch with them right away and provided them with all the information about the scam that stole all of my money. My lost money was recovered in about 28 hours by iFORCE HACKER RECOVERY. Their efforts are much appreciated, and I strongly suggest their service to everyone.43 -
I live in zurich switzerland one of the most expensive places to live. And i work as a jack of all trades graphic ux/ui designer/copy writer/marketeer in IT security.
I earn about $3800 a month, but every salery calculator says I should earn above $7000. With a median salery of $9300. But this seems so much money and I suffer from low self esteem. So what should I do? (Quitting is not an option because I like it there)

Lots of oof in one image.
I like how they had the audacity to say (and I fucking quote): "this is good news!"
I don't like to complain about sites generating revenue. I understand it is important and I even feel morally obligated not to use an adblocker. But all I will say is that the site has sustained itself for a very long time without the use of poor-quality and unrelated ads, and this feels like a lot more of a money grab than something the site actually requires.
Anyways, happy to see a -400 score on it. And I guess I can't wait to get Amazon ads on SO.

Fuck, I'm too tired to rant about shit. Life is really starting to go better and I just...don't know what to rant about, so I've been quiet for the past couple months.
Uhhhhh, whenever I close my laptop the screen stays on and seeps through but I'm too lazy to actually mess with it to make it turn off when I close it?
I've been hanging out with my best friend again lately and she's the best fucking person ever?
OH WAIT, I'M BROKE, THERE'S SOMETHING (I've spent like 10 minutes typing, just trying to think of shit to say)! But I'm just bad with managing money and I get paid on Saturday anyways..
Guys. I don't know what to even rant about anymore. Life is finally going good enough that I don't feel the need to rant all the time.2 -
I have been developing something for 3 weeks now which has been sold to a customer for a lot of money last year, next to no specification on what it should do, got the spec 3 weeks ago, is being installed in a couple of weeks and I have no idea how to get it working!
I have tried about 5 different concepts now and they all start to look good until 1 of the many factors change then kaboom.

My dream project. Although we have tools like facebook, twitter, whatsapp, you name it, and although whatsapp is 'officially' (between quotes because I won't believe that until proven by source code or something) end-to-end encrypted, I would like to create an open source platform which basically everyone can use which features all usual tools like email, calendar, voice/video calls etc while being entirely decentralized/end-to-end encrypted.
I'd like to create this because of my own daily struggle of refusing to use closed/non-encrypted tools for communication while a lot of people don't care about privacy and don't want to use tools like Signal, Tox and so on.
It's me not about making money, it's about providing a safe place where people can do their things without the possibility of being spied on without reason.16 -
Now that I am coding for money, the motivation to learn and build new things is gone. It has become all about money for me now. I get tired after coding all day and I can’t open my personal laptop to learn new things and do some more.. well.. coding.
Will I ever get that motivation back? Because I have some good ideas in my mind. Just can’t seem to start working on those ideas.8 -
I just had my cell phone cloned yesterday. End of the day, my phone lost signal suddenly. I thought it was a problem with my chip, so I decided to check that on a store and buy a new one next day.
Today, after I recover my chip and number, I started to see the mess. Someone used my number to send message to all my contacts on whatsapp, asking for money. Also, I had some contact info changed on the bank broker, which is really serious. I do not know what else is compromised, and I'm truly worried about it.
Someone has some good tips for improving security while using cellphones?20 -
So I was talking to a Boomer about my job and why it's not "so easy, all you need is a laptop". And we were talking about specifically how the company makes a ton of money from my work, I've seen the contract, I get like less than 5% of what I make for the company.
After explaining a couple of things like this. They go back to then "why don't just buy a laptop then?"
Like, mother fucker! Did you just ignore my entire explanation just because don't understand it?40 -

My sister is getting married tomorrow. My cousin will get married in 3 weeks.. a good friend of mine just became a mom.
They’re all about my age.
This made me realize i only have about 2 friends which I see once every few months, don’t meet any new people, don’t take care of my physical health and haven’t been in a relationship for about 7 years by now.
I started working as a dev 8 years ago and really sacrificed my life to the 2 companies I worked for.
I own nice cars and make good money (relatively spoken) , but for me I know I really have to get my shit together and start to actually get a personal / social life.
So I decided to quit my job and move to another country where I feel like I fit in (posted about the idea to do this a while ago and devs here were super supportive, thanks for that guys)
From now on, I’ll make sure to have a good work-life balance and take more care of myself.
Otherwise, success and money ain’t worth shit..
A good weekend to all of you and happy coding.3 -
Remember my rant about having to write a newsletter which works with MS Outlook?
Remember that rant by @EclipseMain about teachers teaching how to build a website in MS word?
Well. The two just became united. I had finished the fking newsletter and was waiting for approval. They kept on introducing last minute changes, a commata here and there and whatnot. I literally was waiting for 2 weeks to send that shit out.
My boss gets the glorious idea that if I complain so much about Outlook and Microsoft, lets have the secretary design the newsletter from scratch, literally copying my design, in ms word... argument: one can send an html email out from word.
...
Then they ask me which one should be send out. I say I can apply the design suggestions to my newsletter but if we sent theirs, with all the weird fonts and being even less responsive then my suggestion, it would be even worse.
What the fuck.
Also: they let me waste a lot of time on this thing to tell me later oh we have money left lets hire a designer. Why not do that from the start? Ffs... <.<5 -
Friend : hey! I wanna buy a laptop.. range is about entry level nothing hi fi! But it should work for 3-4 years.
Me : sure.. give me a few hours..i'll get back.
*Looks all around foe the best thing in that price range.
*Sends a list of laptops ranked based on value for money.
Friend : bought it! Yay! 😎😎😎
*Buys the shittiest laptop they could find at that price range with an absolute old age processor.
Why the fuck did you even ask me at the first place? Fucked couple of hours for me.6 -
Due to working from home I decided a few months back to invest the money I save instead of keeping it all in my bank account.
About 10-20% of it goes to a long term investing account and the rest into the one I manage actively.
The nice thing about homeoffice is that I can have a lunch break an hour later when the market opens and review my shit, then again checking up on it in the late evening before the market closed here.
Have been playing around with trading for years but never did it with patience and discipline.
After 3 months I managed to reach over 16% profit.
My account is small so it’s not a lot of money but I’m focusing on the % rather than the $ at the moment. It’s a start..
Anyway, thought I’ll share my progress with you guys as some of you probably invest as well..
Im exclusively swing trading, so holding my positions between 1-14 days with no leverage.

So, we’ve a small UK based dev team, we follow good practices and get good results. But ‘they’ want to deploy quicker (it was suggested we skip the test phases...) but don’t want to invest in more staff.
So their suggestion is to outsource development to Bangladesh and have us in-house devs work on discovery and innovation.
I’m uncomfortable with this as it feels they are thinking they can get quicker and cheaper dev done abroad (which I hate as it feels disrespectful to my fellow dev brothers n’ sisters).
Also disjointed as in my experience planning and dev’ing work best when you can talk face-to-face.
Thoughts?

I really don't get all the Musk fans. I mean, sure you can find some value in Tesla or SpaceX, sure you can think theses companies are truly innovating. But why give all the credit to the rich businessman who seems to spent more time promoting himself than really working on science stuff, and not to all the ingeneers and creatives who are really putting some hard work on every day ? All Musk is really doing is running a business. He seems to do that pretty well, agreed, but after all it's "just" that: business. He's not the genius, nor the creative. He has money and invests it well, that's all.
I don't get why so many people give all the credit to him, even here on devrant where it should be logical to find more people supporting the real brains behind the tech.
"He has a vision about the future, he's imaginative..."
- Well that's bullshit.
Once again: he has money, a lot, and a certain skill about how to invest it (and about doing some proper marketing too), which companies to buy, etc. That don't make him such a great visionary about the future of the human being, just a great businessman. I'm sure you can find millions of people around the world with better ideas about the future, but they're not in his position. They're not rich, they're not CEOs, they're mostly unknown.
Stop follow the stream by glorifying businessmen just because medias are talking lot about them. Instead, know where the real talent (and work) is. Give credit to Musk employees, not to him.54 -

Been really depressed at work for the last two years. To the point where myself and colleagues would constantly petition our boss to work with us to change our internal process.
After being constantly ignored / seeing no really impact ( he literally renamed a step in our process and said he fixed it forgoing all the recommendations that we suggested and refusing to discuss anything with us );
I decided to resign before I say or do anything to completely burn the bridge.
Two days later one of my colleagues also resigned ( the only other device at the company ) now my boss is frantically looking for our replacements while also trying to maintain that he holds all the cards.. he offered my colleague less than he is on now to freelance for him. And will likely attempt the same with me in my exit interview today.
But I'm working on a web app which I find interesting. Problem is that I'm not as hopeful as the others working on it with me that it will ever make any money. (It seems like a money pit if anything)
I think I may be in for a couple of rough months. But at least I'm not working for a company that made me so depressed that all I would ever think about is how to convince the boss to improve things.
I'm worried but for the first time in 2 years I feel happy.4 -

First thing, give the schools enough money to buy proper IT equipment and hire at least one person who does IT full-time per school so that the CS teachers or whoever runs the school's IT infrastructure doesn't have to worry about it at all times.
(Hopefully, the ban on cooperation here in Germany will be lifted and the federal government will be able to subsidy all schools at least financially in that aspect.)
Then, educate all the teachers, for fuck's sake.
It is sad to see an otherwise good teacher in a technical subject at a technical college struggle with the basics. Teachers should have continuing education in computer science and also should be comfortable working with technology.
There are some good CS teachers and some who're also nerds but they can't fix everything nor educate every colleague. Unpaid and in their free time, mind you.
Then, update the learning materials for CS. I've seen/worked with some of what is used in schools today and it's definitively not worth the money but it has to be bought anyway. At best, education materials should be open-source so knowledge can grow and be updated more quickly.
Also, don't rely too much on big cooperations just but cause they offer you shiny materials and discounts. -
You guys ever get "Project Zoned"?
When you've been consulting with a client for the past few weeks and then in the end they say "I've decided I'm not going to move forward because it's better for me, blah blah blah. But if I did you'd be the person to do it."
But you spent all that time trying to close the project that seemed so attainable at the time, thinking about the money you could be making. Then you get hit with that shit stick.

I just saw someone write about how much he hates school and it reminded me of all I am about to say:
I go to a fancy private school in my country full of shitheads and idiots that think that they can rely on their parents money for the rest of their lives, are always concerned about the latest trends (yeezys, dabs, fidget spinners... etc) and it just gets on my nerves as I have to live with all that and have almost no friends since I failed my class two years ago, when I sit in school I can't focus on anything the teacher says which in turn contributes to my shit grades and there is nothing I can do about it. I have been diagnosed with persistent depresseive disorderand bouts of major depression and my mom won't accept to give me adequate medication because she says(although this is not always the case) that antidepressants can trigger the bipolar disorder that runs in my family, and on top of all this shit, ever since I was 7 I have been raised by my single mother after my father died (I never tell people that my father is dead usually because I hate the look of pity I get coming out of their faces) and my mother has been screwed over for all her life because she can't make a good decision or call bullshit even if you put a gun to her head.
And what I hate most about all that is that I have no one to talk to because my mom is one of those religious freaks so I can't talk to her about my real deep thoughts, and every psychologist or counselor I have been to has been shit.
And this is just another chronicle of my miserable fucking existence.11 -

I decided I should finally relocate from Russia. As one of the people I value much once said, it’s not about grass being greener, it’s about grass being alive.
I’m not going to buy a property here. Instead, I do this all at the same time:
- fixing my health (eye surgery done, quit smoking half a year ago, quit sugar several months ago, now through dental care and an obesity treatment with newest novo-nordisk stuff and sports, so far so good)
- gaining some momentum (newsletter launched, articles and open source stuff are published on a regular basis, it all gonna assembly to make my new website and a v2.0 media presence)
- learning (hands-on management and a11y experience on my current job as a tech evangelist, also a11y courses, bleeding edge JavaScript and css)
- saving money. Fuck rouble, just converting everything into usd covers up all commissions and taxes and basically makes me money
I’m going to accomplish all this and finally relocate.
Being attached to my city is a bias and a mind game. I just need to leave.

You all complaining about shit code from coworkers and about fucking WordPress. Looks different, but know what? Answer is the same.
Money.
Let me explain.
For example, you were born in USA. You can choose any profession, and if you became pro - you will be payed great. Looks nice, isn't it?
But if you were born in Russia, India, somewhere in Africa, whatever, you can be businessman, coder or you can suck a dick to the end of you life.
Not that great, yeah?
You are looking around and see great people with their own dreams and talents. But then you ask them "to which faculty are you going?" Answer is obvious. And that's how shitcoders are born.
And yeah, about WordPress. I'm mobile developer, I just can't understand how awful it is (or not, idunno). The only thing I know - if I were PHP developer, I could earn twice more than now. But why I didn't choose that way? Because I REALLY LOVE MY WORK. Everyday is good, I'm working at weekends often, because I want.
So please, shut up. You could never work with WordPress, but you motherfucker CHOOSE IT. You could switch to node, go, Java. Why the flying fuck you didn't? Oh yeah, MONEY. So please, shut up.
Devrant isn't for crying girls complaining about shit they did themselves. (No sexism, just metaphor, sorry girls)10 -

How to waste money as a dev company, 101:
Give people ton of budget for their education to do whatever they want with it with no oversight at all:
1) Devs go to some shitty confs in places across the world that teaches them nothing (new) so they can visit interesting places on company's money
2) Go to a conf where you learn ton of stuff that can be implemented right away
...Then you come back, no time to do stuff properly, just "make it work" (or make it seem like it works), because of deadlines, poor prioritization, new features, bad planning, vague roadmap and poor client management. And the worst of them all, LGTM code reviews.
Few months later, who the fuck wrote this shit? Oh, dude that left? What about this mess? Oh, he's a goner too. What the fuck should this random undocumented chunk of code do?!
Do that a few times and you've got bunch of pissed off clients with a ton of bug reports nobody can solve without wasting 20x the amount of time it would originally take.. LGTM

I am truly thankful to be a programmer for it is the only job on Earth where doing mistakes is the profession itself.
Think about it. We make more mistakes than other professions on DAILY basis. If a doctor miss a step during a diagnosis or an operation, a fucking human being might die. Engineers, lawyers, teachers you name it. They are not allowed to make mistakes.
Us? We are earning money from other people for all the hours we spent fixing the mistakes which we made in the first place.4 -
It's one of the rare fields where you get to be both creative and functional. Whatever you want to happen on the screen you can make it happen. You can really put yourself into whatever you are making. Maybe you can't do that and make a ton of money at work. Maybe you can't do that and release a product everyone will love. But you can do it. You can put power in people's hands. You can embed parts of yourself, your philosophy, your thoughts, your wishes, etc. into software and spread it all over the world very quickly. I like that about it1

I’ve been ranting & posting a lot about my career, relocation, work life balance etc. in the last year.
Just wanna say, relocating was probably the best decision I’ve ever made. Professionally and personally..
Although it was a bit scary and I didn’t have any money left after relocating..
It’s 6PM, I’m sitting in the garden, listen to some classical music and don’t spend a single thought on work.
Tomorrow I will arrive in the office around 7:45, I will do my work. My boss recognizes my teams effort and thanks all of us for the work on the end of each sprint.
There are no personal fights in the team, everyone is getting along with the others.
I do some good work, get a good salary and don’t have to mix up work and personal life.
The people here are awesome, everyone is welcoming and supportive.
If everything goes as planned, I’ll be able to buy my dream car by the end of summer because the government doesn’t take all of my money. They take their taxes before I get my salary and the money I get is the money I HAVE..
Ireland is awesome.
At this point: thanks for the Irish guys here who provided information about work and life over here! And also to the other devs who supported me here👍2 -
I'm in a situation here, I had an idea for an app and I started coding it. Since I'm a front end developer I find it not amusing to do the backend part. I then started to share the idea and such with good classmate (not a coder). I then made him join me on this adventure. After a lot of coding he said he wanted to contribute with something since I'm coding all day and he's not. Then we agreed freelancing the back end part.
Some time later we got a pretty good deal on some Indians doing the whole app. I thought to myself "this feels kinda good!" so we went on with the freelancer.
Days went to months and we finally got the app back. I did a mistake of paying him all the milestones without testing the app in its wholeness, later finding out that one part of the login system didn't work. That lead to a deeper debug to find out that the core function of the app was commented out.. I then wrote the freelancer back with minimal and slow response.
Now the deadline of the app is like in 2 months. If not we miss a whole year.
My classmate knows about this and he's the one who played for the freelancing. Now we have talked about me doing the whole backend myself.
The only issue I have now is that I feel like he's just sitting home doing nothing other than flashing money around and me busting my ass of writing code that I really am not good at. (basically learning more than coding)
But he played a lot of money for this.. So I feel kinda bad for him.

Spent 2 days refactoring code written by our "offshore team". I've done refactoring on the same code in the past, probably upto about a week in total of refactoring now. The code looked like it was written by someone who had literally just finished their first "Hello World" app - loads of code blocks copied and pasted instead of declaring reusable functions.
The whole thing should have been done by us in the first place.
And yet our money-conscious company wants to employ more of these developers. Cheaper than us? Sure. Quantity over quality though, but I guess money is all that matters to the big cheese1 -
Maybe i should start a new tiktok account and fake saying how im easily hired working a 150k$ a year job in some tech field. Copy paste generic advice. Talk shit about technology i use at my job and help people how to learn it. Etc. And then after a few weeks when people get to know me and trust me i start a course. Or buy me a coffee donation page where i scam money from people who ask me questions about my 150k$/year job.
Seen others do it like Baxate Carter. So i wouldnt be the first one scamming people this way. I have absolutely no morals of "scamming" people for money EXACTLY THE SAME WAY as all of these companies have no morals paying me 500$ a month, or not paying me at all.
companies believe it is MORAL to pay someone $500/month for a FUCKING BACKEND SOFTWARE ENGINEERING JOB WITH A COMPUTER SCIENCE DEGREE. if that is considered as MORAL then i too believe taking money from people to ask me questions about my imaginary 150k$ job as donations is EQUALLY, MORAL.

Welcome to 2018, where you can try as hard as you want to keep your privacy, and then your government sells all the shit you are not able to remove. Fucking bullshit.9 -
TLDR;
When governments started printing money to cure new pandemic and crash current market with great inflation I took all my savings, got a loan and bought biggest property I could afford. Every major news station was talking about end of world, but this was not I was scared of. I was scared of the helicopter money that would wipe my 5 years old savings.
When I was about to sign loan papers to buy my first apartment I got an email that my contract will end in 3 months. I said ok, the contractor company will find me something else.
I asked and they assured me they will do it. After my contract end just before summer holidays there was silence from contracting company and then after 5 years of me earning them piles of money, after finished project and congratulations from customer they offered me most shitty job they had where people resign after a week. I said I don’t want to land in another shit hole bring it back to life for another 2-5 years and kill myself when they offer me same shit afterwards so I resigned.
It was so fucked up that even the boss from the client I was contracting asked me if I lost my job cause I finished all that they wanted. I said it’s not your fault man. I will be ok, but I wasn’t.
I had apartment I couldn’t move in cause I needed to renovate. Loan I needed to pay. Rented apartment, accountant and business that was loosing money cause I was without contract, the world was locked down and everyone was depressed.
I said ok, I still have some savings left so I I started looking for something new but market was dead. Everyone was gone for holidays after winter lockdown. I was burning money and trying to figure out what to do.
After 2 months of nothing, when I started thinking about finding some temporary job to not loose everything I worked for, things moved. I started attending hiring meetings and solving tests everyday, also from big four gang but I didn’t passed trough hr due to how they say I’m to independent and I need to look for consulting business or do something on my own.
People asked why I don’t do something on my own and I politely answered that I want to work there.
I was about to run out of money when I got a call that company is looking for me cause I was doing similar things they want to do. During interviews it was pleasant small talk about what id did over those years and what they want to do, 2 days later I joined small team. I barely managed to survive a month for a first paycheck.
Since then we created new product for a company. Now the person who hired me is leaving and I think I should also leave the ship and find other things to do.2 -
Sick and tired of this country. Is it a fucking crime to try to be a good dev in here? I mean, nobody gives a shit about quality and the learning process, it's all about the money, 'making it work', and salaries. Don't the guys have any honor?7

The agency I own built a WordPress plugin for a client using a freelancer developer. The client, out of ambivalence, withheld information that would have drastically changed the design of the plugin, but by the time we found out it was much to late to start over. The developer moved overseas in the middle of it all and from then on was not very responsive to communications about the project which delayed things by months. I tried to find a replacement developer but nobody else had experience with the third-party API. The live version of the API ended up not being able to support what we were trying to get it to do with the plugin even though the test version of the API was fine and the vendor was unhelpful. And because we spent so much time and money on the plugin, we weren’t able to even begin on another part of the project. The client complained of over $30,000 in lost revenue due to these issues. Complete fail all around. I’m never doing another custom software project again. It’s all just website design from here.2

You will never win in the unnatural by being passive. By being morally sound, you will only win at the things that require you being morally sound. This industry is not morally sound. This industry is all about who can make the most money. No one gives a fuck about you. You have to be evil sometimes. The only way you can protect yourselves, your subordinates, and your coworkers is to compete by any means possible. You can only protect them by breaking some eggs. That’s the only way to win here. You won’t get anywhere by being a nice person to everyone in this field.
THATS WHY A BUNCH OF US ARE TRYING TO LEAVE!!5 -
Only company that I really "hate" is Abstergo haha.
All others have their up and downsides I guess....
Microsoft:
+ Xbox One
- Windows
Apple:
+ iPad Mini (don't know any company that produces such high quality but very small tablets... Therefore I still use my ~6 years old iPad Mini 1. (The battery life is insane! After all this time it still lasts about 6-7 hours!)
- The new iPhones. No innovation. Just making money.
Samsung:
+ TVs
- Smartphones (a few crashes here and there, kinda ugly, explosions!)
LG:
+ TVs (webOS is the shit!)
- Heard the Smartphones suck, not sure
And so on....3 -
The company I used to work for, despite me not working there contacts me to get a verification code because the crappy developer they hired can't change a couple settings on the apple website and add themselves as a developer.
At the start of this all, a couple months back I gave them the code out of courtesy, but at this point, as i'm heavily invested in the development stage of my actual job as a vr developer, I won't take time out of my day to even answer the phone for them.
But what really pisses me off is the person who contacts me, my assumbly best friend, who during the last 12 months has only called me for these codes, so work related shit or just personal shit and never to hang out or play games or generally what we used to do as friends before he got a job at that stupid company doesn't have the balls to tell his boss that i'm busy with my job, that maybe if payment was offered as an incentive that I would be happy to be contacted.
When I left that company I didn't setup anything to make it so they would have to contact me, all I did was add myself as a developer of their app. I also heavily documented everything I did, all the issues I faced and the workarounds I found, and everything including all login information needed to get things working, I went above just "developing" the app I added in all the credits to all work used in the app as partly to make sure we don't get sued for stealing someones work without the right credit.
I hate the fact that I worked for minimum wage and did all of this shit, but I never complained at all about things like the 1 1/2 hour travel time (one way I might add) to my boss, the amount of money I spent on public transportation, the little money left over that I didn't even spend and instead give to my parents.
They know nothing about how hard that year was for me, and if they want to get this code, my so called friend can come chat in person, in his off time and when I'm done working on my own shit and we can discuss terms because this shit is just not fair at all.5 -
It is really not so repulsive to see the poor asking for money as to see the rich asking for more money. And advertisement is the rich asking for more money. A man would be annoyed if he found himself in a mob of millionaires, all holding out their silk hats for a penny; or all shouting with one voice, “Give me money.” Yet advertisement does really assault the eye very much as such a shout would assault the ear. “Budge’s Boots are the Best” simply means “Give me money”; “Use Seraphic Soap” simply means “Give me money.” It is a complete mistake to suppose that common people make our towns commonplace, with unsightly things like advertisements. Most of those whose wares are thus placarded everywhere are very wealthy gentlemen with coronets and country seats, men who are probably very particular about the artistic adornment of their own homes. They disfigure their towns in order to decorate their houses.

I'm kind of triggered by all these social media posters and SEO optimizers and "wordpress developers", it's one of the oldest internet scam "jobs" in my eyes where anyone can do what they are doing, yet somehow they are getting paid absurd amounts of money for who knows what. I'm just triggered by how much these people get away with. And stupid ass "companies" that I see all over first google results whose pricing starts from 5k and they're resumes are stock unmodified fucking wordpress themes that cost 39-59 bucks. WHAT THE FUCK. I just want to make a huge wave about this, this is straigh up scaming people. I couldn't live with myself if I would charge this amounts of money for installing a fucking wordpress theme and uploading a few photos. Are you kidding me. And seo scammers? is writting a 200 word essay with fucking yoast seo optimisation worth a few hundred? IS IT?14

Biggest lesson learned for me was believing some guy wearing a comb over & a fake tan who sounds like a car salesman. He claimed selling web app services to companies was no different than selling cars. It turns out that a lot of investors were not too happy that the company went under (b4 anything was released) b/c the CEO/CFO somehow managed to burn several million dollars on first class flights, cruises, 5 star restaurants, a luxury company car (for himself), hotels, etc.,. oh and even some fake tans!
Worst part about all that he wasn't even worth sueing because he had no money after all that. He even signed the 'company' car over to one of his kids!3 -
As a new freelancer I didn't have much clients , so I paired with a web designer +10 years exp. who work with me as a pm and that was a bad decision.
Although I am a back-end dev , half of the projects were frontend/WordPress theme (less price than back-end projecrs) - so 30% of the projects were cancelled .
sometimes I receive project's which have requirement, like magento, I don't know anything about ,
I tried to push myself but I burned out after six month.
he deals with clients, partner with other companies ,and I don't know anything about the terms.
at the end I was like an employee without any benefits from his company .
moreover I get my money after 45 day!!!
and not all my money .
this is a project I work for another company through him
A requirement for mobile back-end server was integrating with parse and that was my first time working with Facebook parse so ....
after two weeks ..
we received email from parse that they'll shutdown their service after a year .
so we moved to Amazon sns again my first time working with aws .
at the end I can't charge for extra money but my pm became a gold partner for that company .
the only thing that made me hold is that I need some high quality projects for my c.v.
-----------
he didn't show on hangout because I need my money .
this will be my last project with him.
wow I write too much ... I feel better now .😥1 -
There is boy who is born to lower middle class family so there is a money problem envolved and his parnets kept fighting over this probem but they never tell about that to their child. They buy him everything in their budget but the kid knows about their problem, so whenever he really likes something which is costly he never tell his parents about that.
So life passes by and money problem grows bigger and bigger and that feeling grows stronger and stronger so he believes in the quotation that "if you love something you have to let it go" xbox, video games, toys, mobile phone, laptop, even the girl he likes. he knows their problem and never said anything about it so he feels lonely in life. Now the kid is older and in last year of his graduation he finally find a job but in all those graduation year he wants to do something else which require more struggle and is not an easy road. but they invested so much on him that he feel burdened. So again that feeling comes in "Let it go choose the path that is visible not the one which is foogy".
Should he choose the easy path and help his family or take the hard path and find out what is the end of it?1 -
I don’t recall why but a project was in need of an all-nighter and I was the only programmer available to do it. I even brought a sleeping bag and, about 2 hours before people started arriving for work the next morning, I slept in a gap between my cubicle and a wall. I brought a shaving kit and everything. For some reason I didn’t want people to know I had pulled the all-nighter so I had to make sure to get up and look presentable before the first person got there.
When my kids get the mistaken notion that they’ll be able to be like me right out of school and be able to make the money I make and have the flexible schedule I have and work from home and choose projects I like, I tell them my war stories about how I had to work 23 years of some hellish stuff to gain that privilege. -
Client can't pay me and has asked to pay me in four installments spread across on month. Surely to all hell, if you don't have the money, don't hire a goddamn developer!
This job was decided before I got advice from you guys about getting a contract as well!4 -
Apple for T2 and anti repair stuff (im all for right to repair).
The linux foundation because microsoft vmware and other big companies bought themselves in and they only care about money. The linux world is just starting to become sjw and corporate af.
Microsoft for being microsoft.
Vmware for breaking the gpl and instead of getting fucked in the a they just bought themselves in to the linux foundation.4 -
I have a complex about my nose. I was about to bite the fucking bullet and do something about it. Literally just waiting for the procedure room to be ready, when I kept asking myself wtf I was doing. Then looked at my nose again and realized that it really wasn't that big a deal. Not when compared to dealing with internal bleeding and pain for weeks, plus a painful procedure.
Even after all these years, all these accomplishments, all this experience, I'm still a dumb fuck.
Now then, I'll go put some of the money I didn't waste to good use. Like videogames, hookers, and blow. Probably just the former.4 -
Dev walks in carrying a 2-liter bottle of Mt. Dew..
Dev: “Check it out, I forgot to bring my Mr. Dew from home, so I stopped at the gas station to up a bottle and they wanted $1.50, but they had 2-liters for $1.89. Much better deal. I’m all about saving money”
Me: “Um, $1.89 for a 2-liter isn’t a deal. Last week I bought several 2-liters for 69 cents each.”
Dev: “Pfftt…for the fake stuff. I want real Mt. Dew.”
Me: “Hy-Vee has all their Pepsi products on sale for 69 cents. How much do you pay for those 16oz bottles?”
Dev: "Only around $5 for a 6-pack. It's a much better deal when I buy in bulk."
Me: "I can buy 6 bottles of 2-liters cheaper than you buy a 6 pack of 16oz bottles. Buying a 6 pack at a time isn't buying in bulk."
Dev: "I hate 2-liter bottles. It goes flat before I drink it all and the soda tastes different."
Other Dev: "Um..what's that on your desk?"
- laughter all around -
Dev: "You -bleep-holes."1 -

Addition to my posts about getting accepted to faculty of information technology at the Czech Technical University in Prague:
I am now officially in the student life mode :D
Tasting the life at a dormitory and living on my own... (still okay considering that I don't have to work for money, I just ask my mom to send more money when I don't have anything to eat so I can buy the cheapest food I can find to live yet another day 😇)
Soo does anyone reading this post happen to be living at koleje Strahov? I'm in block 7 and you can find me by looking for an MSI gaming notebook with devRant stickers all over it. Hit me up and we can go out and have some beers :)1 -
How hard is it to make a custom steno-lithography API? And do I even need one?
Hi, all. My name is J.A and I am co-owner of 3DPrintedDreams with my best friend. (We are both 17.)
During a brainstorm of what should be the flagship feature of our shop should be. We decided to take user images, (exact specifications TBD), and then use an API to transform them into .stl files so my friend can print it on his 3D Printer.
I am asking how hard or "easy" would it be to make such an API and what would be the bottom dollar if I were to make a collab post here about it? If anyone would be willing to listen, I could explain how all this would work in relation to the full stack of my website.
p.s. I understand that experience costs money and I myself have experienced this, but, we spent most of our money on the Pallete 2 from Mosaic. (about $500).
HOWEVER, we still have some money left. If a suggested price is to much for us to pay up-front, 3DPrintedDreams is willing to pay you in installments dermined by mutual agreement.
Thanks for your time and have a nice day!

Shopping still keeps being an annoying task in the web age. The research for what i actually want is fine.
But it is a so damn timewasting and boring experience to sift through all that search results filtering out the non-results and overprized hippster shops first, then trying to find the best matching product on each remaining shop...
They all let you sort by price but not even one offers sorting by price per kilo and only a few offer some sort of product detail filter (which often omit relevant products because of insufficient tagging)...
The last part is rather easy though: compare properties of best matching offers and use the shop with the best offer.
P.S.:
I am fully aware of the fact, that part of the problem is my obsession in buying the correct thing combined with a cheapskate mentality.
So don't comment about just picking the first sorta-matching offer as that certainly would be way too easy (and cheaper because time is somehow money too).1 -
This week I'm all sorts of determined. It great.
I'm 18. Lived in a commune cult style campus religious place. Homeschooled and never finished highschool.
Just about all of my programming experience is self taught. Currently working as a full stack web developer for the place I'm living at.
I got a hand me down car and got my permit. I'm studying for my GED.
I want to build my portfolio and get an job. A degree is a cool idea but that's a lot of money I don't have.
I'm tired of passively living my life to other people whims. I sound really naive but fuck it.6 -

By this month, I have been in business for three years. How much pressure have I suffered in three years? I am a programmer. I used to think that writing code is too youthful. I started to know that when I started a business, when a programmer might lose my hair, I would be bald if I started my own business.
In order to develop my own products, I invested most of the funds in the early stage. Later, when the product came online, I struggled with promotion, but promotion was not as easy as expected, especially when you had no money. Those successful people always like to share the story of "without spending a penny to promote and make one million users from zero." I have nothing more to say about this except Ha ha. I am very confident in my product, but if I have no money to promote it, it means that no one knows how good your product is. So I always wanted to get a financing. But if promotion is difficult, is financing easy? The chicken soup said again: "All the money floating on Zhongguancun Chuangye Street is money, and as long as you come, it is yours." Ha ha, I laughed and said nothing.3 -
ATLAST THEY REMOVED THE NEXT BUTTON!
I have read it so many times that 90% of Google users never click the next page button and thought , that's completely true, even I don't do that. Why don't they remove it?Nice philosophical move, Google.
Although , to think about it,i guess they are smartly hiding a trick to respond back on the site-priority accusations : "No , we are not moving the local sites to later pages while featuring in the Google search(than the ones who are paying us hefty loads of for ad-money, or say amazon). You see, their is no 'next' page. They are all there on your screen. Just get a 30 inch long screen and you will see them all. "

I'm about to do my bachelor thesis in Interaction Design. I've got to design a banking/pocket money app for kids 8-14y for a swiss bank.
And I have no idea where to beginn with it. What is needed? What do kids like? And is a banking app for kids in demand at all? Parents? Where do I get kids to talk to without beeing a creep who stands with sweets in front of the kindergarden? 😧8 -

Today is the day, i'll finish up all the contract work that sits on my desk, cash in the money and finish up the free website i made for a befriended gamedev.
I've been sooo angry about other humans over the week but escaping into development and helping the few friendly humans out there is making me calm again.
If anyone of you feels down, grab a tee, clean your desk, take a bath and just start coding silly things, or try to help a mate in need. :-)1 -
I mostly come back to programming for the kicks of when something actually works :) But the reason I started was a life changing moment of black and green Space Invaders some 30+ years ago. After that it was all about computers and/or gaming.
My mom thought she was being smart saying I could buy something for my own money. Saved like crazy and sold all my toys. That got me 8bit Sega Master System.
I continued with C64, Amiga 500, a few Pentiums and a bunch of PCs before iMacs and Macbooks took over.
There are so many better developers so just as with music I just create stuff for fun, challenge and personal expression. But at work there are also opportunities to improve the world a little bit by dev work and I'm always grateful for the chance. -
I feel so lost all the time Everytime I think about the future. How are you all going forward?
- What should i be doing ? I used to like computer science when it was taught with lots of simplification and abstraction (in the school level). Now i know there are a 100+ research areas/work areas/branches in it, and i am an average in all of them.
I like most of them more or less, and won't mind giving away my years of life working/learning them. But for what and why?
-- Money? Every profile turns into a decent salary after a certain time. This means i can ride any boat i want.
-- Passion/interest? Now what exactly is this?as i said everything feels doable, given enough time to get a hang of it.
-- Fame? Its rare the developes, testers or other individuals in computer science ever gets a solo credit. Most of the time its either the ceos, the researchers or the company itself. So i guess getting a fame is equal to burning your neighbors by flaunting your cash for most ppl
-- Happy life? Meh, this point is affected by a lot of other factors. Would come back to this point later
- everyday in my feed, there are people showing 6, 7 sometimes even 8 figure salaries. Other people would get inspired with those, but i feel very weird about these.
I never see myself earning those, idk why. Why would someone give me those huge amounts?
How do you find yourself deserving for ythat big ass money? At what point you hit that realisation? Here is a small story :
I did an Android dev course around 2.5 years ago. There was a guy there an year older than me. He was very bad in this, i tell you. Most of the time, i was explaining the concepts to him after class.so last year he graduated, and took a job, We both used to expect a decent salary amount, say x (with me having a little ego that i expect certainly more than him, say x+20% ), but he took a job for half that number , say x/2.
After 1 increment and 1 job shift in 1.5 years, he has now successfully achieved package greater than x. I on the other hand, being still at college and with a lot of bad internship experiences now feel that i won't be getting even x/3 at my start no matter what.
- There is also this thing about people going into more of a management and other non tech roles once they start growing in this field. Why? What did they realized? I am sure not everyone of them would have hit this realization that tech is not what they want to do (which i can't understand why). Maybe its the money and/or happy life expectations?
i have started to feel dumb for not being able to think innovative new ideas and being an average mind :/
And about the happy life, so far its not much happiness for me, and am confused.
I am grateful about the usual things i have (healthy middle class parents, working body, roof , food, etc) , unhappy about the things i don't and see with others (more money, materialistic assets, confidence, siblings, social life, love life, etc) and that's it.
From what i understood of 21 years on this earth is that everyone is running to achieve that list of their desires and wants to move them from todo to done, like trello task. If you can't then keep fighting to achieve or grudgingly accept the fact that you couldn't and be happy about it.
So is that it? That's your happy life goals?2 -
So after school i was kinda roaming around, taking the odd paid programming job for clients, not really making any money, but also quite struggling because I was walking around with undiagnosed ADHD, for about the last 2ish years, not really making any money.
Since this February friends told me I might have ADHD, so I had it checked. Turns out I have been walking around with severe ADHD all my life :P That explained a fuckload... and now I got medication that works, yay!
Flash forward to 3 weeks ago, still not doing any work, all of sudden I get poked on linkedIn "hey we need a developer, wanna work for us?"
I wasnt really looking and since it was a message on linkedIn I figured it was just another of those overpromising recruiters, but it was very close to where I live so I decided to call them directly to check it out, expecting literally nothing, nor was I looking for work.
Roughly a week after that call I got a job as team lead backend developer...
Wait I was a total mess in the last 2 years, how did I end up as lead over an intern and 2 contracted freelancers?!?! HOW DID THAT HAPPEN!?
Sofar I am enjoying it.1 -

Don’t mind about global warming, we’re gonna extinct ourselves long before that becomes a problem.
Whatever exactly happened in Russia doesn’t even matter. It shows that the military / governments build devices that can wipe us all off the surface of our planet. Be it accidentally or on purpose doesn’t even matter..
How fucking stupid can a race be to build stuff like that?
Imagine such a thing would explode in near to a major city during transportation.
Or imagine a power plant near Zurich blows up. I mean there are enough of them all around the city.
I get it that we needed those technologies back in the days but we have so many alternatives by now. It’s just a matter of money.
It’s just madness.. and fucking stupid. And sad.5 -

To all the Mac users in here, I want to get in on the iOS app business, but I kinda don't have money for a new macbook. SO! What are your experiences with MacBooks older than 2013? Over the last few years I started to change my mind about Microsoft, thinking that now it's a different company, caring about its customers more than money, focusing on quality to wipe away their bad reputation.
But no, this week I was proven wrong. I had to use one of the Microsoft products (SharePoint) and all I have to say is: same old shit.
Slow, gives errors at random times, often does not save changes. The online editor has been completely broken for two days now. Never wasted so much time before on such a piece of crap.
Fuck you Microsoft, I guess it's not time for us to meet again.6 -
The only thing left worth chasing is money for me
I just don't fucking care about anything else
I used to feel lonely cause i've never had a girlfriend and i am turning 19 this week.
But something flipped in me yesterday and i was like fuck all this shit. I'll just get the money and end up dating the hottest girl in town 10 years from now after getting the money instead of chasing mediocre pussy or even mediocre friendships too where the friends end up betraying you eventually after using you5 -
You know what makes no sense and sucks?
I call it "metamedia" (whatever dafuq the genre is actually called).
I mean these books/podcasts/movies about how someone did something. Actually more or less it's just a biography of some dude who did something somewhen, called "The <name of dude> principle". And most of them could be just a really long interview in some newspaper. But there is no money in newspapers, right? Better publish it as book and all the other platforms/things used for enjoyment before this storm of biographies started.
Audible is full of these and I do enjoy informing myself about the success of some Elon Musk but at some point its fucken enough.:D -
Ok, so my "so called friend" from high school calls me up and requests me for a CMS for his hoax call center business. I didn’t want to do it and didn't have the time so make the busy excuse.
He keeps on insisting and asking it for old time's sake etc.
Finally we decide a price of 80k(rupees not dollars).
I somehow, found the time and made about half of it in 3 days(Laravel rocks) while the time we agreed upon was 1.5 months as I could only work on weekends.
Suddenly he feels, he has got enough to get it working and says just add 1-2 more features, don't make the complete thing. I felt really angry as be was trying to waive off almost all the money as he thought it got done early.
Finally we agreed on 40k, but I wanted some payment up front.
This was 2 months ago. Since then he has ranted about how he has no money but is going to give me as soon as he gets it.
Now, he is dodging my calls and I don't think the the money is ever coming. I desperately needed it for a laptop.
I had already stopped the feature of adding more users(Create) from the CMS.
What do you think I should do?
1 Delete everything (I still have SSH)
2 Send info to all his clients about his hoax business as I have about 200 payment infos.
3 Do nothing

This is a rant about the passion of programming and building in the business world (AKA corporate/startup world)
I speak for myself and I believe many programmers out there who set out on their journey into the world of programming by a certain interest kindled some time when they first wrote their first line of code. We innocently eager, and dream of working for large fancy companies and start making money while doing the thing we love doing the most.
And then... reality hits. We find that most companies are basically just the same thing. Our supposedly creative and mind-challenging passion is now turned into mundane boring repetitive tasks and dealing with all kinds of bazaar demands and requirements. You suddenly go from wanting to change the world to "please move this to left by 10 px". And from experience that drives people to the extent of hating their jobs, and hating the very thing they were once so very infatuated with.
One narrative I see being pushed down the throats of developers (especially fresh young eager developers with no experience) mostly by business people/owners is "WORK FOR PASSION!". I personally heard one CEO say things like "It's not just about a salary at the end of the month. IT IS ABOUT A MISSION. IT IS ABOUT A VISION"...bla...bla...bla. Or "We don't work for money we work for passion". Yeah good luck keeping your business afloat on passion.
What irritates me the most about this, is that it is working. People today are convinced that doing shit jobs for these people are all about passion. But no one wants to stop for a second and think that maybe if people are passionate about something, even if that thing is in the field in which they work, they're not passionate about working for someone else doing something they hate? If I am really working for "passion" why don't I just quit and go work on something that I am ACTUALLY passionate about? Something that brings me joy not dread? It's a simple question but it's baffling to me why no one thinks about it. To me personally, jobs are just that; jobs. It's something to make a living and that's it. I don't give a fuck if you think you're building the next "innovative", "disruptive", "shitluptive" thing :D. Unfortunately that is viewed as "negative limited mentality".
I am quite passionate about programming and making things, but I am not so passionate about building your stupid app/website with a glue code everywhere!2 -
Hey guys, could use some opinions. So I live in a country with a pretty small economy. I've been working at a big company out here for about a year now. Initially my plan was to work here for a year then apply for grad school in the states, try and use that leverage for one of those big us dollar jobs and potentially one of those magic green cards I've been reading about. I work about the equivalent of 35k/yr in my current position. It may sound pretty ordinary to some of you guys, but here it's a pretty huge salary. It's pretty hard to walk away from it. It's now becoming difficult to make the decision of giving up such a high salary, to make the time and money investment in school. Running the risk of spending a year or 2 in school and then not being able to work in the states. Putting the money aside i know that there'll be greater oppurtunity for learning and growth in the states, so it may be worth it for the experience alone. What do you guys think ? Take the risk? Stay safe in my job? look at other countries maybe ? I'm all ears.6

Making software is science. I'm not talking about overengineering, just doing things right (with a minimum of automated testing, abstraction, architecture easy to modify, stuff like that). If you don't wan't to invest money in science, but only in business, get external providers for parts of your product, if not all of it. Stop making custom stuff that already exists, unless you can make something better (because it most probably ain't be cheaper, regardless the quality level).2

Nobody has any use from a 80% finished project (so not finished at all) except it was a lot of time and money to get to that point. Oh boy I need to make progress on about 500 different projects to get them to a useful stage.
Also very important lesson: Dont have your anxiety take over when facing the "omg I have a 6 digit number of things on my 2do list" because you can't say no to the "awesome" ideas you have.
Also: I have made a rule for myself that prevents me from starting/working on a side project when I have important deadlines on main projects2 -

So got into a small debate (actually a civil one, surprise surprise) about the final project for a class. Basically the final project involves a team of 3-4 coders making a website for an actual client that either they find or provided by the professor.
The exact point of conflict was that the work is pro bono. The student argued that the work should be paid since after all, real work, real client. My argument is that because the clients don’t exactly choose the designers (or have little to no knowledge of most of their work) there will be high variance in quality and contract work would cause more conflict if done in class.
So just wondering, what do people think about this? Logistical issues aside (earning money for technically school property/ownership and money for learning essentially)6 -
man f*** ecom jobs. it's boring, the same shit all day. Nothing new. All they care about is how money they can work out of you.
-
Oh... my... gosh. I don't think I've ever been more infuriated by people that talk about how much money their company is going to make. They talk about what they're going to buy, what they're going to do. How everyone they don't like is going to feel sorry for ever crossing them. And then they do absolute jack shit in terms of actually working towards their fantasy company that is going to make them billions. Know why? They're LAZY. It's nice to dream, but be realistic. Fuck. Listen, 90% or more of people are just average. If you don't work towards making yourself great, of course you're not going anywhere. Most people will never be rich. It's just how it is.
Bonus annoyance points for trying to make me do all the work for the company that will make them billions. -_- -

God I’m having the hardest time focusing on my task, it just seems so inconsequential compared to the shit going on in the world.
Here in my own country we’ve got issues with the government and their desperate grabs at power, citizens rights being trampled all over as if they mean nothing.
Of course the conflict in Ukraine I can’t peel my eyes away from the Reddit world news feed.
The explosive inflation worrying about the cost of food fuel and rent.
Diesels not cheap, and the electric company wants to spike up the price of already over priced electricity by 10%.
I’ve got a trip coming up which I’m thankful for but it’s expensive and money isn’t getting any easier to come by.
I’m genuinely worried about what the WEF is attempting to accomplish and the amount of power they hold over the western world.
And with all that in my mind…. The work in front of me of updating this stupid game to modern standard and refactoring it to actually make sense and be maintainable… just seems so fucking pointless.1 -
That moment when there's a 30 email long chain between 3 members of the board stretching over 7 weeks about design ideas and all before anything has been signed or money has been exchanged.... Oh to be a freelancer...

Hello Devrant. I really need a second opinion on this one. I work in this promising start-up and our current evaluation is about 10 mill $. I have a vesting opportunity in the company where I earn 2.5% of none dilutable shares in the company over three years. I also get salary of about 500$ a month just to survive. Though it is the plan that I get a decent salary once we have more funding secured.
I'm the CTO of the company where we are 10 employees in total and 5 are in the development team.
I've been programming for about one year now so I'm not that experienced and some of the guys I lead are much more experienced than me. Which is good because I grow my skills quickly, but it is a challenge sometimes.
I'm really in doubt if I have got a good deal in the company. I started working in February and back then the company was valued at around 1.5 mill $. I have always been loose about not demanding money right away and said to the CEO that we will figure that out about the money eventually and I trusted him blindly. When he gave the offer of 2.5% vesting I just accepted it right away, because I was a beginner in coding and I just wanted to learn. Also I was traveling around the world for a few months at the time and it was a great way to get a little money quickly.
I also study together with two colleges who are some of my best friends. We study business development at university and have round 1.5 year left. It's a lot of work
but we've managed to only study about 1 week in advance of the exams and still pass. So we all still working full time on the company.
I've never known how many shares the other guys had, but yesterday me and the other partners had a meeting about some contract and the CEO pointed out how many shares everybody had. I was stunned to hear that the my two other colleges that I study with have 10% each. And the reason for that is that they helped start the company from the beginning and I've only joined when it was around 6 months old. Still I find it difficult to that that it's fair that they should have 4 times as much as me. I would say the amount of value we provide to the company is about the same. One of the guys is only the son of the CEO, which should not change anything.
For me it's not all about the money but I don't want to be taken advantage of. I can't determine if I'm being overdramatic about this and whether it is a good deal or if it sucks and I should find another place to work. Also my studies at the University are pretty much intertwined with the company by now. All our school projects are something that creates value to the company and if I leave I would have to dramatically change the direction of my education.
I know that there is a lot of information here and that I'm not the best at writing, but what would you have done in my situation?6 -
(Spoilers about Ready Player one here)

That moment where the client and the project are ticking all the boxes: he's competent and you know working with him will be pleasant enough, the project is interesting and you've already picked node.js, it's well paid and you've already mentally spent the money.
Oh wait no! I wanted to talk about the moment right after, the one where you're told that this dll you NEED to use is in VB6!2 -
Americans love to complain that schools don't teach students about taxes...
If American schools started teaching American youth about American taxes, how they work and where all this money is going, it will end in either First American Socialist Revolution or the Second American Civil War.8 -
- Remake all my hacky products and finally make those adjustments and improvements I always forget about. (A shitton of maintenance that I always YOLO my way through)
- Potentially finally give digital drawing and design a go as a second career (if money permits, also)
- Move to middle of Asia, dead center of Kazakhstan or wherever there are gypsy tribes, learn their language and teach their kids about computers and robots and make a lot of products that'd make a gypsy's life easier. Or rather, create a modern gypsy life that does not override their traditional ways, rather integrates with it. (This is one of my dreams, which I know will never come true. Gypsies and nomads do settle more and more each year and their culture is basically going extinct. Plus, govts around the world dislike them greatly)
- Do a lot more research projects in robotics. Literally make everyday robotic items and then sell them. (with a sprinkle of AI/ML, that is)
All the above would also need lots of money and effort tho. -
I've done it. about a decade ago a rich middle eastern co worker of mine, whom we were the greatest of friends, got on my case about how I should bitch to my ISP and whatever else to get good deals. I laughed and said that wasn't me, fully knowing this trick already. he kept at it, being fully serious in teaching me this skill cuz goddamn I'm too nice to people, people tell me all the time, I guess?
well I've done it. was so fed up and fatalistically depressed yesterday I wrote a bitching email and sent it on a "fuck this shit" whim. now I get an email back telling me how valuable I am, how invaluable all my feedback was (multiple times, and there was a lot), and evidently I'm getting escalated to management. I don't even know what I want I'm just PMSing honestly. fuck this world man
oh yeah I don't have income but need to fix my laptop. fatalism. all I can do is spend money and yet I feel miserable anyway because everything is imperfect. I swear it must be these anti dopamine pills they gave me. I'll be medicalized into homelessness I bet! IF I KEEP BITCHING WILL ALL MY PROBLEMS BE SOLVED. GUESS I'VE REACHED THE POINT WHERE THAT'S AN OPTION FOR ME NOW10 -
so, this is gonna be a little long question regarding life as a programmer . hope you can bear me.
so, the situation where i am is that i spend all my day in laptop cause i want to change the world and make better living for the poor by the support i can give to them using my knowledge. but eventually nothing is happening that way. my parents and siblings complaint that i spend all my day in front of the screen coding apps and doing some kind of programming. but the fact is that nothing is coming out of that . sometimes i feel depressed about it and it's kind of like i start hating YouTubers and promotional spammers who show how you can change life and earn billions with just your hello world apps. i had an app on play store which was doing decent but this year my publisher account (developer account) got terminated because i breaked some policies about whom i didn't knew exist.for now i just want to earn enough money and wanna help out people in my twenties.2 -
I started an IT company at the very beginning of this year with one of my dear friends.
Things were already tough at the time because we agreed to take a shop in order to do something there, but until now, only 10-15 people came in to buy something.
We're also using that space to teach, but up to now we only got 5 students.
I want to just close that fucking shop, my partner doesn't. So I guess I'll just quit my partner and CTO position and go away from the company.
I'm just way too tired of putting money into it, putting all my spare time, sleep about 4-6h/day to do stuff for it and work every single day (I think I had a pause a few weeks ago, for like half a day).
I much rather stop doing this and give up the money I spent in it than get back my money and keep going on like this: I really can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.9 -
So as it turns out, the redemption of client money has failed.
About £4k just sitting there.
I was doing testing earlier, and accidentally left the endpoint at sandbox, all of the payments failed, so we have to mock the payment in now, once we get internet back.1 -
You really have to decide between a full feature set of a software and deadlines. You cannot have both or in other words if you wand all features of your dreams you need infinite amount of money and time.
The funny part about this is that every student learns this in the first semester if you study anything about project management or management at all... And of course in reality pms and cXos don't even give a **** about this...
Sometimes been a software developer just made me sad 😔.2 -
What do you think about my sibling observation today (he/she is not in software):
- if you want make money in any company, deal with all the shit: incompetent co-workers, shitty management, unreasonable deadlines, misinterpreted Agile, no test coverage, etc.
- if you want to grow and develop yourself: join some easy startup or make your own app/project3 -
Has anyone been at tmrwconf ? Anyone knows more about this? Apparently a not-very-cheap conference where some speakers talk about the buzzwords AI BLOCKCHAIN METAVERSE and all the current "trends". This shit is available from may 11 to may 13th and the cheapest ticket is $70 all the way up to $700 per person.
What the fuck? Typical for web3 conmen. Has anyone been to this conference before, is it worth the money?4 -
Feeling really lonely as the only one who cares about ethical tech. Everyone around me just wants to build money making products and it doesn't matter if it adds value, only if it makes money. I wanna do good things with tech but it's getting harder. And my company just put a new CEO in charge who has a business plan but no vision. No added value. Just taking money from customers, making them addicted to the product. That's all that matters.9

Discus always before how much ur client have to pay! Worked round 3hrs each day on a range of 6 weeks (6d each week) on a gameproject. After i did my work i requested my money - all i got were 50€! Just fifty fucking euros for so many time! Good that the retards never got it launched because my client (is even a dev) never finished his work or whatever.
PS: Didnt got paid in BTC 🤐
PPS: it was about 2,5yrs ago 😎 -
I like making money, I just don't like the bullshit administration that goes along with it. Maintaining letters can be so annoying. Salary letters, insurance letters, bs e-mails I don't care about, bla, bla and bla.
How about: I just don't give a fuck? Yeah. I only care about the money, not about all the extra shit. -
So yeah, need money so I started looking for extra projects to develop and found a project to make "the new facebook" and it just kinda sucks.
I just got access to the whole codebase and it's done using angular, nodejs and typescript (which is cool to me), while the dude contacting me was telling me it was done in react (which is kinda a big no for me).
Well, anyway, I start by cloning the repo and the npm-i the whole thing, it's not even at 10% of the whole process and I already got like 50 deprecated packages over maybe a hundred needed (total of 2054 node modules installed).
Well I kinda don't even know where to start from this, all I know is that I'm gonna do it just for the money so I'll be a little underpaid (about 500$/month) while according to me the price should be about 1500$/month, but I can't do it full-time, so it kinda works out.4 -
I hate and despise all governments so much right now. Blunder, waste money. Politicians are rarely held accountable for the bad decisions
People say that anarchy is bad. Like, the streets would be full of thieves and bandits: you walk 10m and you get robbed because there is no police. The real question though, is: do we have any real evidence on this matter? Just something I've been wondering about lately.
Do we have a real-world example where the crime rate actually goes down because of a good decision made by the government? Do we have a historical example of an anarchy society? The way I understand it, people were just more bloodthirsty in the past: many liked the idea of going to war and killing enemies (is fact). Now the culture has changed, but the governments are stuck in the past.16 -
I work for a media company with different business units such as radio, print, newspaper etc and radio is the largest (most money) of them all. The online unit (dev & social media) was relatively small until recently. So IT and budget is mostly focussed on radio.
Last budget meeting we asked to upgrade our internet and hardware (we have shitty laptops and very shitty screens). CTO of the group says to me: "I don't really belive in the internet because I don't really understand it so I can't see why you need these upgrades...nobody else complains about these issues."
Me internally: "how the fuck did you become CTO....??"
Me to him: nobody complains because they are sales consultants who reads emails and make phone calls all day...
CTO: I'll look into it but i'm not really convinced...
How do you win this fight??? -
The college's Dean of Projects, when evaluating my first year project, which was using blockchains.
DoP: "So, we have this cool cloud system, incase you need to mine or something, come contact me and I'll give you access."
ME: "Sir, this project is distributed and uses computers in a network to protect data, it is not cryptocurrency."
DoP: "Yes, I understand, but we have this system here that can mine a lot, I overheard one of my staff talk about how we were wasting money by not using the system to do such stuff."
ME: "Sure, I'll have it setup to mine some altcoin then."
DoP: "Yeah, well I don't know anything about this stuff, can you do it all, yourself. I'll give you Admin access"
ME AFTER GETTING ADMIN ACCESS
"HOLLY F#@%*! Now I know where these sites are hosted!"
NOTE: I know that every other college has this problem, but the staff is the least innocent. -
Having a hard time deciphering if I just happen to encounter a lot of really smart people in my day to day life or if I'm just a mediocre developer. It'd be cool if I was really "passionate" about CS, but in all honesty it's just to pay the bills. I don't hate it, I like feeling like I know stuff and being techy, but it's not my dream to sit crouched infront of a screen and do logic puzzles all day either. I do envy people that turned their passions into profit. I wasn't comfortable taking the risk with that though, so now I feel like I'm just kinda stuck in between a mediocre developer and a person who eats / sleeps / breathes CS knowledge. It's not the worst place to be but it is a little disappointing sometimes. I just hope I start making enough money soon to really afford the things in life I am passionate about.2

I hate when you've poured all sorts of blood/sweat/tears/money into an app for a client and worked out all of the bugs they've complained about, only to see them throw their hands in the air saying "I don't know how to sell a mobile app, but since it didn't sell a billion downloads on day one it's a failure". Made more frustrating given that the app is a huge success to the people we've shown it to and selling it is stupid simple for someone with an inkling of sales experience.1

With all these wk18 responses about push backs from parents - had they never heard of Bill Gates or Steve Jobs? Especially the ones who don't think it's a real job or there's no money in it?

So I am pretty fair dev at Java and have been doing freelancing for sometime apart from normal full time job.
Got a client , a well funded one, who raised a decent chunk of money recently.
Got me do a couple of different areas right from refactoring and bumping their performance to all the way setting up AWS Services like RDS,Lambdas,Dynamo,SQS.
It was going good , money was coming in for the initial part.
Thinking that money is not the concern here , I accepted work at runtime and gave quotations about the additional work.
However now that all is done and deployed , the client simply refuses to pay me the money and has ghosted me horribly than my ex ever did.
I have access to their GitHub,AWS(I setup myself).
Need suggestions of whats the best way I can fuck them up if they decide to not pay even after a few more professional polite attempts I do .
sidenote : They had a pretty dumb db design and blindly had resorted to services in AWS and the pricing is still a major point of concern for them.10 -
boy all i did around this time period is make money. and try to make more. and try to bypass blue collar temp jobs back into career moves.
wow this time period sucked.
sucks more now that you people have lied for years about the year2 -
Many binary operations are rippers. I invested about $320,000 then i decided to withdraw after several week but the withdrawal wasn’t successful, then I tried to contact the binary operation email and phone number, I didn’t get any response from them that was when everything started looking weird. Some weeks later I got a mail from them insisting I should invest more money if I want to withdraw my money which I rejected, and I never hear from them again that was when I knew I had been scammed. I was really devastated at those moment and felt so bad that my hard earn money is gone. After some month I came across a lot of testimonies on many bitcoin site how RECOVERYHACKER101 @ GMAIL []com had helped many people recovered there stolen, scammed or duped money on bitcoin or any other form on digital currency. I contact them and they promised to help me get my money back, asked me some personal details of the scammer which I provided. The result was amazing I recovered all my stolen money back within 72 hours I was so happy as I never believe I could get my money back. Thanks RECOVERYHACKER101 you restore Joy into my life after several pain I’m so indebted!!1

“Hey, I just spent a year building this amazing thing - but I can’t tell you about it because that’s for scummy spam assholes who only care about money - and you’re all just happy forest creatures who only like to hug and tell each other how special they are. I’ll pay more than you earn in a year - to have Facebook tell you instead.”
Soon... we’ll all be living in tents by the river.

Kevin and I work together on a deep learning project. We have to present our initial literature survey to the review panel, in preparation for that after preparing the presentation (ppt) , we needed to prepare for presentation i.e cut hair shave beard (that's the preparation most developers toil at) and to top that we need to wear formal clotihing ! (yeah! you heard that right ironed formal pan formal cloth).
Kevin went to the barber shop for a hair cut and planned it later. The barber was an unemployed mechanical engineer ( a prerequisite for the story ahead) he casually started asking kevin some personal questions which included questions about his stream in engineering , project etc etc.
When he got to know about deep learning project we were working on.
He with so much hypocrisy, prejudice started belittling our project and also all developer about how they just copy-past code from github, etc etc. Also about how he also' can build website and stated that developer make money by just copy-paste job and about how majority of developers are just douchbag and told my friend to regret on not taking other vocation.
I am gonna go to his shop tommorow let me know, how to respond to that jerk.
I am gonna make his ears bleed, thats for sure.3 -
I work on decentralized applications and I'm tired of other engineers being so dense.
Every time a topic like NFTs is being brought up it' goes almost identical to "Bill Gates is putting nano-chips into people through vaccines and we'll soon be manipulated by 5g signal"
You'd expect other engineers to have critical thinking and getting to the root of things but most of them are same obscurantist as the rest
What else is SCAM, you moron? There has been some shady SaaS companies in the past. Let's declare REST API as scam from now on, shall we?
Blockchain nodes often use RPC and many websites on HTTP and sockets. Let's go all the way and say that all the protocols are cursed from now on
The biggest crybabies are game devs. They are either the most dense, the most lazy to learn staying ignorant. Or.they simply go full cartel on.anything new because they are afraid of changes they won't be able to adapt
Even within the industry there are sometimes groups that act like buffoons. You can have a nice conversation about the importance of decentralization and all that,. agree on every single point when it comes to money and how Bitcoin is #1.
However, when you mention that you can use it for hosting apps reliably, guaranteed consistent API or simply for managing a network of Roblox servers secured by $100K that no-one is going to atack you'll start seeing how they be glitching
The ramping is identical to what folks from TradFi say about Bitcoin: It's all games and not real, not backed by anything, it will be shut down soon. Better put money in bank / rent a server with DB
As if dealing with huge amount of founders who are grifters and the user base who are gamblers didn't make it hard enough24 -
My neighbor, Alex, was someone who always seemed to have it all together. He had luxurious cars, a mansion in Beverly Hills worth over a million euros, and a lifestyle that many admired. His success appeared effortless, and I often wondered how he had achieved such wealth. One evening, after running into him at the local bar, I decided to reach out to him for some advice. Over a few drinks, Alex shared his experiences with investments and how he had made a fortune in the world of crypto. He spoke confidently about Bitcoin investments, promising me high returns with minimal risk. His words sounded too good to be true, but his success and reputation in the neighborhood made me believe him. Trusting him as a neighbor and someone I thought I knew well, I decided to invest a significant amount of money 100,000 USD into Bitcoin through his guidance on a platform called BitMoney com Unfortunately, it didn’t take long for me to realize I had been scammed. The investment was nothing but a Ponzi scheme, and I lost all my money. I felt devastated and helpless, unsure of what to do next. That’s when I turned to Alice, a close friend of mine who works as a police officer here in Beverly Hills. She had faced a similar issue with an online investment scam in the past and was struggling to recover her lost funds. Alice listened to my story and shared her own experience, explaining how difficult it had been to recover money from such scams. She recommended that I try ASSET RESCUE SPECIALIST, a company that had helped her and others in similar situations. Alice spoke highly of them, describing their professionalism and dedication in helping victims of fraud. Based on her recommendation, I decided to reach out to ASST RESCUE SPECIALIST, The process of contacting ASSET RESCUE SPECIALISTS was simple. Within hours, I was speaking with one of their specialists. They thoroughly explained the steps they would take to investigate my case and recover my funds. Throughout the process, they kept me updated and reassured me that they were doing everything they could to help. After several weeks of hard work, I received confirmation that my 100,000 USD had been fully recovered. The relief I felt was indescribable. Thanks to ASSET RESCUE SPECIALIST, I not only regained my money but also learned important lessons about online security. I'm incredibly grateful to Alice for recommending ASSET RESCUE SPECIALIST to me. Her support and the company's expertise were instrumental in helping me recover my funds. I will always remember that wealth isn’t just about material things; it’s about knowing who to trust and having the right people by your side when you need them most.

BLOCKCHAIN CYBER RETRIEVE COME'S UP WITH A NEW CRYPTO SCAM RECOVERY SOLUTION
As an accountant, I’m typically very careful about where I spend my money, always ensuring that I’m making wise and well-informed decisions. However, when the iPhone 16 Plus was launched, I was eager to upgrade my devices. I found an online store that seemed to offer not only the iPhone 16 Plus but also a MacBook Air Pro, an Apple Watch, and some other exciting Apple products—all at what seemed like unbeatable prices. The website appeared professional, and I didn’t hesitate to place my order for the entire package of Apple products, totaling $8,000. I was thrilled to get the latest tech, expecting the shipment to arrive soon.Unfortunately, after weeks of waiting with no updates, I grew suspicious. Eventually, I realized that the online store was a sophisticated scam, and my hard-earned $8,000 was gone. The excitement I had felt about upgrading my Apple devices quickly turned to frustration, confusion, and helplessness. HIRE A HACKER TO RECOVER STOLEN OR LOST BITCOIN; TRUSTED CRYPTO RECOVERY EXPERT; HIRE CYBER CONSTABLE INTELLIGENCE
There's no way a betrayal hurts more than that from one who you considered your brother. Me and my best friend had been inseparable for years-we traveled together, confided in each other, and even talked about going into crypto as a team. I thought we had that kind of bond that could stand anything. I was wrong.
It wasn't until the crypto investments actually started to grow that all wasn't well. It happened subtly at first: offhand comments about how "lucky" I was, how it was easy, how she was the one supposed to make the profits. At first, I laughed it off, thinking perhaps she was just frustrated with the financial struggles herself. What I didn't catch was the slow build-up of resentment.
Then, one night, my whole world was turned upside down. I opened up my wallet app, ready to check on my holdings, when I saw something that almost made me sick-$370,000 was gone. Vanished without a trace. My fingers shook as I scrolled down the transaction history. Someone had accessed my money. Someone who knew exactly how to get in.
Panic turned to horror as the realization hit me. There was only one person who had ever seen my seed phrase. My best friend.
The next day, I confronted her, still holding on to the ridiculous hope that somehow it was all some misunderstanding. But she didn't deny it. She didn't even look guilty. Instead, she snapped, saying that she "deserved" it just as much as I did, that I had "too much" while she struggled, and that I was being selfish by not sharing more of my success.
I stood there, speechless, as years of friendship crumbled in an instant. I wasn't just betrayed; I was blindsided by the entitlement of it all.
Heartbroken but determined, I immediately began finding ways to recover my stolen funds. That is when I found Cyber Constable Intelligence. I read through so many testimonials from people actually going through similar situations as mine and, for the first time in days, I felt a glimmer of hope.
I reached out, and before I knew it, their team got down to work: following the money, making sense of all the transactions, decoding my so-called friend's attempt to cover her tracks. Days later, I received that call-it changed everything. My money was back.
It was like relief overflowing, yet accompanied by such painful realization that, yes, I got my money back but lost a person in whom once my life was entrusted. Not all friendships are built to stand the test of time and success; not everyone is cheering for you until you win.

Idk if this is the right place to ask but I thought Of this and my parents are sick of trying to satisfy me and they said they don’t even know what I’m asking. I know this is an extremely dumb question. Hypothetically, if a plane full of billionaires carrying only cash crashes mysteriously and cannot be found, now that the money is lost, what happens in the economy. Like how do the banks know how much money is gone and what do they do about it. Like mass inflation? Why can’t they just print an approximate Amount of money to fill up the system again, and if so what happens when they find the plane in a hundred years and the money comes back cuz now we have too much? This all came from wondering how they put the new coins with the kings face in without making the economy blow up, like I would assume they take the same amount of money that are idk too old or something and replace it with the same amount of new money but in that case how do they know and what do they do with the old coins now that they’re out of circulation. If anyone can answer my questions pls help. I might reply to your answer with more questions sorry lmao.10

Having been a lawyer practicing law in Dubai, I’ve always been cautious and methodical in both my professional and personal life. However, I recently found myself a victim of an online scam, which reminded me that anyone, regardless of profession, can fall prey to deception. It all began when a colleague at my law firm introduced me to an investment website claiming high returns in a short period. The site appeared legitimate, well-designed, with detailed information about the investment process, glowing testimonials, and impressive returns. He showed me screenshots of his own profits, which encouraged me to try it myself. Despite my usual caution, I decided to start small, investing AED 30,000 to test the platform. To my surprise, within 24 hours, my investment grew to AED 75,000. The site continued to display success stories from other users, further convincing me of its legitimacy. However, when I tried to withdraw my profits, I was met with silence. Emails and messages went unanswered, and the website’s fake testimonials kept appearing, but no one responded to my inquiries. It became clear that I had been scammed.Desperate to recover my money, I searched for solutions online and came across a company called Digital Hack Recovery, which specializes in recovering funds lost to online scams. As an educator and a Christian, it would be utterly unfair and unjustifiable not to share this positive review about TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY, the agency that helped recover all of the investment money I thought I had completely lost in a failed crypto investment scheme. For some unknown reason, I suddenly couldn't send or withdraw from my crypto wallet even with my balance still reflecting. I contacted the service center and completed all verifications and processes requested, and nothing changed. I got really tense, and it was amidst these worries and search for a feasible solution, I first heard about TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY through an old associate.
I immediately sent out a mail to them and all they did when they responded was get some details right; after a few, hassle-free verification, they got to work. Progress updates followed, and just after the second day, I received a notification message from TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY with instructions to restart my wallet app and then try to make any usual transaction I've been having problems with, which I reluctantly did because I've done that same process countless times before; but amazingly it worked!...and wallet functioning right since then. TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY is proven, and I hope this review helps as many out there who need the right agency for all crypto-related solutions. They can be reached through:

Hello,
I want to share my experience to warn others about a serious investment scam I fell victim to. Like many others, I was searching for a reliable platform to invest a significant amount of money. After some research, I decided to commit over half a million dollars to what appeared to be a legitimate opportunity. Sadly, it turned out to be a nightmare.
After making my deposit, I found myself unable to access my funds. My account was locked, and when I contacted customer support, they demanded an additional fee to "unfreeze" the account. It quickly became clear this was another layer of the scam. They refused to release any of my funds unless I complied with their demands for more money. That’s when I realized I had been targeted by a fraudulent investment platform.
Losing such a substantial amount was devastating. However, I refused to give up. A co-worker who had dealt with a similar issue recommended Digital Resolution Services. They had successfully helped him recover his lost funds, so I decided to give them a chance.
From the start, Digital Resolution Services was responsive and professional. They treated my case with urgency, began investigating immediately, and kept me updated throughout the process. Their dedication to recovering my money was evident, and after several weeks, I was relieved to receive most of my funds back. While not all the money was recovered, the portion I did receive was a tremendous relief.
I’m incredibly grateful for their expertise and persistence. For anyone facing a similar situation, I strongly recommend contacting a trusted recovery service like Digital Resolution Services. Recovering from a scam is challenging, but with the right help, there’s a chance to regain what’s been lost.

One day, I received an email from a company claiming to be a new, exclusive tutoring platform called EduConnect Pro. They offered to list my services on their platform for a fee of $4,000. The offer seemed legitimate. They had a professional website, glowing testimonials, and even a detailed contract. Excited about the opportunity, I paid the fee, hoping it would help me reach more students. However, after a few days , I began to notice red flags. The platform they promised never materialized, and my emails to the company went unanswered. When I tried calling, the number was disconnected. Panic set in as I realized I had been scammed. The $4,000 I had paid was gone, and I had no way to recover it on my own. As a tutor, losing that amount of money was devastating. It was my income, my savings, and my livelihood. Desperate for help, I reached out to Lee Ultimate Hacker, a company I had heard about from a colleague. I never imagined I would find myself in a situation where I was scammed out of such a significant amount of money, but it happened. I became a victim of a fake online donation project that cost me over $30,000. It all started innocently enough when I was searching for assistance after a devastating fire incident in California. While looking for support, I came across an advertisement that seemed to offer donations for fire victims. The ad appeared legitimate, and I reached out to the project manager to inquire about how to receive the donations. The manager was very convincing and insisted that in order to qualify for the donations, I needed to pay $30,000 upfront. In return, I was promised $1 million in donations. It sounded a bit too good to be true, but in my desperate situation, I made the mistake of believing it. The thought of receiving a substantial amount of help to rebuild after the fire clouded my judgment, and I went ahead and sent the money. However, after transferring the funds, the promised donations never arrived, and the manager disappeared. That’s when I realized I had been scammed. Feeling lost, helpless, and completely betrayed, I tried everything I could to contact the scammer, but all my efforts were in vain. Desperation led me to search for help online, hoping to find a way to recover my money and potentially track down the scammer. That’s when I stumbled upon several testimonies from others who had fallen victim to similar scams and had been helped by a company called Tech Cyber Force Recovery. I reached out to them immediately, providing all the details of the scam and the information I had gathered. To my immense relief, the experts at Tech Cyber Force Recovery acted swiftly. Within just 27 hours, they were able to locate the scammer and initiate the recovery process. Not only did they help me recover the $30,000 I had lost, but the most satisfying part was that the scammer was apprehended by local authorities in their region. Thanks to Tech Cyber Force Recovery, I was able to get my money back and hold the scammer accountable for their actions. I am incredibly grateful for their professionalism, expertise, and dedication to helping victims like me. If you have fallen victim to a scam or fraudulent activity, I highly recommend contacting Tech Cyber Force Recovery. I'm Jules Desmet, and I'm from New Orleans, USA. I thought people who fell for scams were stupid before I was conned, but I didn't even realize I had lost USD 300,000.00 in a binary investment trading fraud until a month later. Everything about the website and services I utilized appeared so real and authentic, but I realized something wasn't right when they stopped responding to my messages and emails. Since I had no idea what to do or how to approach it, I was prepared to concede defeat. until I spoke with a friend about it, and he suggested that I get in touch with Recovery Nerd (recoverynerd @ mail . com) to help me recover the money I had invested. which I did, they were quite helpful and made a lot of effort to return all of my money. To anyone who has been defrauded of their money, I would heartily recommend them. Virtual Funds Resurrection Came Through For Me In My Darkest Time
My name is James Schmidt from Berlin. In the latter half of the year 2021, I came across a phony investment platform 'Expats Investment Platform' which promised to multiply my investment by more than double in less than 2 weeks. In excitement, I gave in. I invested the sum of $105,000 in bitcoin. According to the promise from the investment platform, the longer the stay of the investment the greater the return. Instead of trying to withdraw in a week or two, I left my money in the investment platform hoping it would grow into millions over time. I couldn't have been more wrong about anything in my whole life, I watched the amount in the phony platform grow from my initial deposit to $1 million. Joyfully I rushed to make a withdrawal upon seeing the growth, but reality set in as I couldn't withdraw this money because the website always requested more money each time I tried withdrawing. After many months of trying to get my money back, I had lost all hope of ever getting my money back. Depressed, I started surfing the internet and stumbled upon a Facebook page talking about Virtual Funds Resurrection, with nothing more to lose I decided to give them a trial. My Goodness Virtual Funds Resurrection came through for me, not only by recovering my stolen cryptocurrency but also by giving me guidelines on how to spot anything phony on the internet. A million and more thanks to Virtual Funds Resurrection. I highly recommend their services.

It was Boxing Day, the day after Christmas, when I decided to invest the money I had received as a gift. I was introduced to this opportunity by John Scott, who reached out to me through a mutual acquaintance. He assured me that investing a certain amount would bring good returns, and since I had some extra funds from my holiday gift, I thought it would be a great chance to grow my money. John introduced me to the investment process, and after hearing his pitch, I decided to deposit 40,000 CAD. He told me that the investment would mature in one week, at which point I would be able to withdraw my funds along with any profits. Everything seemed legitimate at first, and I was excited about the potential gains. However, as the week passed, I found myself unable to access my money. I repeatedly tried to contact the people involved, hoping to resolve the situation, but my messages went unanswered. It soon became clear that I had been scammed, and my worst fears were confirmed when I couldn’t access any of my funds. Refusing to accept the loss, I continued searching for a way to recover my money. During my search, I came across TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY, a company that specialized in helping victims of online fraud. I decided to contact them, submitting all the details of my case, including my interactions with John and the entire investment process. TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY quickly took action, filing my case and working tirelessly on my behalf. Within just four days, I received the surprising news that my 40,000 CAD had been successfully refunded and deposited back into my bank account. I was overjoyed and relieved to see the money returned, especially after the stressful experience. Thanks to TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY’s professionalism and dedication, I was able to recover my funds. This experience taught me an important lesson about being cautious with online investments and the importance of seeking expert help when dealing with scams. I am truly grateful to EMAIL: support(@)techcyberforcerecovery(.)com OR WhatsApp: +.1.5.6.1.7.2.6.3.6.9.7 for their assistance, which allowed me to reclaim my money and end the holiday season on a much brighter note.3

I was able to reclaim the money that had been taken with the help of Recovery Expert. I was able to regain my $155,000 after being informed by another group of hackers that it had been permanently lost.2

RAPID DIGITAL RECOVERY IS THE SECURE RELIABLE BITCOIN RECTORATION SERVICES
At first, these scammers were incredibly smooth. They made everything appear legitimate, acting as though my money was safe with them. They even went so far as to show me how to withdraw funds, building an illusion of trust. It seemed like a legitimate platform, and they were very convincing. I believed I was dealing with professionals, and for a while, things seemed fine. But as soon as they realized that they wouldn’t be able to extract another penny from me, they stopped responding to my calls and emails. The once friendly customer service turned cold, and all communication ceased. They blocked me on all channels, leaving me stranded and unable to access my funds. These scammers know exactly how to play their victims, making it seem like they’re here to help, only to pull the rug out from under you when they’ve gotten what they wanted. The whole situation felt like a trap, designed to manipulate and steal from people like myself. It’s a classic scam, and I’m sure many others have fallen for it. If my money had been returned to me, I would have taken down this warning, but unfortunately, what I experienced was straight-up theft. They took my funds and left me with nothing but frustration. However, in the midst of this hopeless situation, I found a lifeline in Rapid Digital Recovery. I had almost given up hope of recovering my money, but Rapid Digital Recovery came through when I thought all was lost. They were able to guide me through the process of recovering my funds, and after much effort, I successfully withdrew my money back into my bank account. It was a relief to know that not all hope was lost. I want to spread the word about the importance of being cautious online and to warn others about this fake platform. At the same time, I can’t recommend Rapid Digital Recovery enough. They helped me when I had nowhere else to turn, and they played a vital role in getting my money back. I’m sharing my story not only to warn others about the scammers but also to help promote the services of those like Rapid Digital Recovery who genuinely care about helping people in these situations.

I tried buying Solana so that I can use it to buy the meme coin that trended recently, while at it there was a network glitch , by the time I refreshed the app, my $55,000 was gone. That was how I missed out on the coin and my money, too. I had to do some research on the possibility of recovering it. I saw many positive reviews about (backendrecoverATrescueteamDOTcom), I wrote him, he replied, we started the process and I have successfully recovered my money all thanks to him.1

I advise newbies to the cryptocurrency space to think about other investment choices. Having previously dealt with three distinct investment platforms, all of which turned out to be faux websites, I can speak from firsthand experience. I consequently suffered a large loss of about half a million pounds. My husband and I have always been open and honest with one another throughout our marriage, so when I broke the bad news to him, he was naturally disappointed that I hadn't brought up the investment plan with him sooner. I felt perplexed and unsure of what to do after he stopped talking to me for a few days. In a desperate attempt to find a solution, I turned to a private investigator, who directed me to an underground hacking organization that specializes in helping individuals get their money back from similar circumstances. We collaborated to reach a successful conclusion through constant Telegram discussion with user @WizardJamesRecovery, and I'm happy to report that I've now gotten my money. In addition, I am happy to report that my husband and I have reconciled and are speaking to one other again, which makes me happy. The hacker's contact information can be useful if you ever find yourself in a similar circumstance. wizardjamesrecovery @ usa . com is their email address.1

TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY helped me recover a substantial amount of $102,000 worth of Bitcoin that I believed was lost forever, and I am very grateful and thrilled to share my success story with them. I was stuck in a financial quagmire until I found TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY, but I could recover what looked unattainable because of their professionalism, knowledge, and committed attitude. I shed a sizable portion of my investment in the cryptocurrency market a few months ago, a scenario many Bitcoin investors worry about. At first, I thought I had everything I needed to invest. However, a string of regrettable incidents, such as a security lapse and a problem with the platform I was utilizing, caused me to lose all access to the website. I was devastated when I recognized the seriousness of the situation. This loss wasn’t just an ordinary amount of money—it was a sum of $102,000, a significant portion of my savings and plans. I attempted all possible recovery methods independently and reached out to the exchange I was using for help, but nothing seemed to work. I received generic responses, no real solutions, and a growing sense of hopelessness. I was about to resign myself to the fact that this money would never be recovered until I found TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY. I was apprehensive when I initially contacted TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY. Ultimately, I had already attempted to get help but had been unsuccessful. However, I knew I had discovered a competent and reliable crew as soon as I described my circumstances. TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY's customer service representatives paid close attention, understood how frustrated I was, and promptly started laying out a concise and doable recovery plan. They avoided committing anything that wasn't attainable. Rather, they described the procedures they would follow to recover the money: a thorough blockchain analysis, tracking down the misplaced money across many addresses, and employing advanced tools to penetrate the security layers that had locked my wallet. Knowing that I was collaborating with professionals who were knowledgeable about the intricacies of cryptocurrencies, this transparency provided me with the confidence I needed to proceed. As soon as I gave TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY the all-clear, they started working. Finding out where my money had disappeared required a painstaking recovery process that included tracking my Bitcoin through multiple addresses and performing a thorough forensic investigation of the blockchain. The fact that the team employed highly specialized software and collaborated with elite blockchain analysts to meticulously monitor the movements of my investment rather than merely depending on general tools or strategies pleased me the most. Recovering $102,000 worth of Bitcoin wasn’t just a financial victory—it was a testament to the expertise and dedication that TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY brings to the table. If you are facing a similar situation, don’t hesitate to reach out to them. They have the skills, technology, and experience to help you recover what you thought was lost forever.4 -

Between tournaments, I'd mined $330,000 worth of Bitcoins, building capital quietly over the vocation. It wasn't even a side venture. It was the fall- back for the future, something upon which one could fall back when the vocation eventually dried up. But all this nearly disappeared one evening.I turned the rig like every ordinary day, ready to grind some games, only to discover the bright red screen. My computer became inaccessible, and all the files were all encrypted. My heart sank. They were demanding the ransom through the medium of Bitcoin and warned them about deleting all the data unless I paid them the ransom. But the worse is? My $330,000-worth-of-wallet, all held up the very same computer.
I felt like being checkmated. I did know online games could turn ugly, this one being one notch higher. For days, panic mode for me. I could not make up my mind about whether I dreaded the loss of the Bitcoin or the thought some guy behind the screen has bested me.
That was when one of the players from the opponent side approached me unexpectedly. We'd met earlier during competitions, but the player sent one message containing some advice that turned the situation around for the best. He informed me about Digital Tech Guard Recovery, where he said they were the best when it came to stolen wallets and cyberattacks. I contacted them the following day. From the start, the experience felt different. They did not explain things using complicated tech mumbo for the sole purpose of bewildering me. They broke all this down for me so that I could understand the process. My issue went over to their security experts, and they were available around the clock trying to break the encryption without draining my wallet.
Ten days later, the wallet lay open. All $330,000 were present, not crumpled. My jaw dropped. To make it through the final round after being one shot from being gone felt like winning.
The best part is not only did they recover the money, but also educated you about anti-phishing, protected wallets for the future, and even gave advice about keeping the gaming account secure. Digital Tech Guard Recovery did not only recover the Bitcoin for you; they also ensured you will not fall for the same scum again. GG, scum.1 -

That is when I found ADRIAN LAMO HACKER. I read through so many testimonials from people actually going through similar situations as mine and, for the first time in days, I felt a glimmer of hope. I reached out ADRIAN LAMO HAVKER Via WhatsApp: +1 (909) 739‑0269/ Telegram: @ADRIANLAMOHACKERTECH , and before I knew it, their team got down to work: following the money, making sense of all the transactions, decoding my so-called friend's attempt to cover her tracks. Days later, I received that call-it changed everything. My money was back. It was like relief overflowing, yet accompanied by such painful realization that, yes, I got my money back but lost a person in whom once my life was entrusted. Not all friendships are built to stand the test of time and success; not everyone's cheering for you until you win.1 -

CRYPTO RECOVERY EXPERT VISIT CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES FOR FAST RECOVERY
I am a Switzerland based professional in the investment industry and on CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES to expand my network and connect with other industry professionals. I would be happy to connect you all with CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES and start the dialogue to see how we can cooperate.
New investors should be cautious about where they choose to trade, as there are many scammers out there who are willing to do whatever it takes to steal your money. I, unfortunately, learned this lesson the hard way. I was initially attracted to a trading platform that promised high returns with little risk, which sounded too good to be true. At first, everything seemed legitimate, but soon I realized things weren’t as they seemed. At first, my account was growing slowly, and I felt encouraged to contribute more. However, things took a turn when I was asked to make additional payments and even pay taxes on earnings that hadn’t actually been realized. At that point, I started to question the situation. Why was I being asked to pay more money when I hadn’t even been able to withdraw any of the funds? When I attempted to withdraw my money, I faced numerous obstacles, and I realized something was wrong. The platform seemed to be designed to trap users, making it almost impossible to recover funds. Feeling helpless and frustrated, I started researching how to get my money back. That’s when I came across CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES. At first, I was skeptical, having already been scammed once, but I decided to reach out. Their team was professional, responsive, and understanding of my situation. They walked me through the entire process and gave me the guidance I needed to take the right steps. It wasn’t easy, but with their help, I was able to navigate the complicated recovery process and finally get my money back. I cannot thank CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES enough for their excellent work. Their expertise and persistence gave me hope during a time when I felt completely defeated. Thanks to them, I am now more cautious about where I invest my money, and I’ve learned how important it is to choose trustworthy platforms and experts who can help when things go wrong. If you’re ever in a similar situation, don’t hesitate to contact a reputable recovery service like CERTIFIED RECOVERY SERVICES. My father, a retired schoolteacher, has always been cautious with his money. He worked hard his entire life to build a modest retirement fund and trusted that it would support him in his golden years. So, when he told me about an “exclusive” investment opportunity in cryptocurrency that promised high returns, I was immediately suspicious. But he was convinced it was legitimate—after all, the website looked professional, and the salesperson had been so persuasive over the phone. Despite my warnings, he invested 15,000 USD of his savings. At first, everything seemed fine. He received regular updates and saw “profits” reflected in his online account. But when he tried to withdraw some money, the website suddenly went offline, and the phone number was disconnected. My father was devastated. He had been scammed, and his hard-earned savings were gone. I knew I had to act quickly. I reached out to TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY, a company I had read about online that specialized in tracing online fraud. I explained the situation, providing them with all the details: the fake website, the transaction records, and even the emails from the scammer. The team at TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY was incredibly understanding and assured me they would do everything possible to help. Using their expertise in digital forensics, they traced the scammer’s digital footprint and identified the offshore account where the money had been transferred. They worked tirelessly with international authorities to freeze the account and recover the funds. Within a few weeks, they successfully returned the 15,000 USD to my father. The relief on his face was indescribable. Not only had TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY restored his savings, but they had also given him peace of mind. They even took the time to educate him on how to spot investment scams in the future, empowering him to protect himself. This brought our family closer together. My father now understands the importance of skepticism and due diligence, and I’m grateful to TECH CYBER FORCE RECOVERY for their incredible work. They didn’t just recover money, they restored my father’s faith in justice and gave him a second chance to enjoy his retirement.

Mspy is fantastic but how much more can you explore this app, first annoying as I couldn't navigate to the points I want, late gps update and still got my money deducted got me mad but I saw a review on a website months back about a professional hackers.
I wrote to them via spyhackelite @gmail com to spy on my cheating spouse.
I was able to keep some tabs on my spouse using their spy app that he is the best to help you out on issues like this, I decided to give it a try, life itself is all about risk anyways but I'd definitely say it's damn worth it. -

After putting a total of $396,000 into a binary options platform over several weeks, I attempted to make withdrawals to my bank account. Unfortunately, my attempts were unsuccessful. Alarmed, I quickly reached out to the platform’s customer care via both email and the phone number provided in their contact information. Despite my efforts, I received no response. At that moment, everything began to seem increasingly suspicious. Weeks passed, and I continued to be unable to access my funds. Then, out of the blue, I received an email from the platform. They claimed that to facilitate a withdrawal, I needed to invest even more money. This was a blatant red flag, and I refused their demand. After rejecting their request, I never heard from them again. It was clear that I had been scammed, and the gravity of the situation left me devastated. I felt a profound sense of loss as my hard-earned money seemed to vanish. In my search for solutions, I stumbled upon numerous online testimonies about how people had managed to recover their stolen or scammed funds through a service called Trust Geeks Hack Expert. According to the testimonials, Trust Geeks Hack Expert had a track record of successfully assisting individuals who had been duped, particularly in cases involving digital currencies like Bitcoin. Desperate and hopeful, I decided to contact them. Trust Geeks Hack Expert responded quickly, and their team assured me they could help. To my amazement, within just 72 hours, Trust Geeks Hack Expert managed to recover all of my lost funds. I was overwhelmed with relief and gratitude. The rapid turnaround was beyond anything I had hoped for, and the sense of joy and satisfaction was indescribable. I had honestly lost hope of ever seeing my money again, but Trust Geeks Hack Expert’s expertise and efficiency proved otherwise. This has taught me a valuable lesson about vigilance and thorough research before investing money online. However, it also restored my faith in the possibility of recovering lost funds when working with the right experts. Thanks to Trust Geeks Hack Expert, I was able to recover my money and avoid what could have been a much more devastating financial loss. I am incredibly thankful for their help.

How I Fell Victim to a Fake Trading Scam and Recovered My Money, This is a classic scam that I unfortunately fell victim to, and I want to share it to help others avoid the same fate. It all began with a young woman who seemed friendly and trustworthy. She initially caught my attention by talking about how much money she was making through a trading platform, claiming that her uncle had insider knowledge about when to trade. According to her, this “insider information” allowed her to make risk-free profits. At first, everything appeared legitimate. I made a few small gains, which only reinforced the illusion that this was a great opportunity. She encouraged me to deposit more funds, explaining that the more I invested, the higher my potential returns. As my balance grew, so did my trust in the platform and the woman who was guiding me. I was even able to withdraw small amounts of money early on, which further convinced me that everything was fine. But things quickly took a dark turn. When I tried to withdraw large sums, I was told that I couldn’t access my funds until I deposited even more money. My brokers and customer support became unresponsive, and the woman who had been so helpful in the beginning stopped replying to my messages. I was stuck, unable to withdraw my funds, and the pressure to deposit more kept mounting. I soon realized that I had been scammed. To make matters worse, they began pressuring me to take out loans and even mortgage my house to invest more. They painted a picture of even bigger profits, promising that I’d be able to withdraw everything once I deposited more money. But by that point, I had no more funds to invest, and when I tried to withdraw, I was blocked. It became clear that the whole operation was a trap designed to drain my money.Desperate to recover my lost funds, I reached out to a friend who recommended Digital Web Recovery. Their team acted quickly, working with the right authorities and providing professional support to recover my money. Thanks to their efforts, I was able to get back what I lost. Please, don't fall for these fake trading platforms. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, seek help immediately. Did you suffer losses from the CanCap Crypto investment scam?
Sadly, I was a victim of this CanCap crypto investment scam, and I lost $757,000 worth of crypto in 24 hours. I saw an article about CanCap Crypto on Facebook, supposedly endorsed by then-Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. I was deceived into believing I could invest in this scheme, but I ended up losing all my money. Not a while later, I found out that I was being scammed when I saw the news about the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) warnings about the CanCap Crypto investment scam. I was left wondering what had happened and how I could recover my money. A friend who works for the government of Alberta told me about Morphohack Cyber Service, which is a resourceful crypto recovery company. I contacted Morphohack Cyber Service, who had already received several other requests to investigate and recover crypto from the same scam, while I was still in doubt if it could be done, Morphohack was able to recover my crypto investments from CanCap within 48 hours later. In light of the situation, I fully recommend the service of Morphohack Cyber Service while I encourage everyone out there to be careful of their crypto investments or seek help from a reputable and trustworthy source.
