I literally have 7 Twitter accounts and you have picked the only one which ISN'T automated FFS4 -
The feeling when you realize the DDoS attacker is yourself because of some stupid JavaScript bug which resulted in an infinite loop which happens to make requests to your server...14

Fun fact
Did you know that there is a UNIX command called "tac" which prints the contents of a file from bottom to top, unlike "cat" which prints them top to bottom.16 -
Aparently there is piece of code out there, which is completely bug free.. its called hello world.8

Non dev related but: release my first track 😊
I'd love to create something which is near musical perfection for myself 😃
There's a couple of tracks which come close for me but not 99 percent yet.36 -
Okay it's called devRant - so I'll rant...
Why the fuck do people write comments like that:
$savesThisStuff = "stuff"; # does save stuff
Why are here 1500 lines from which there are 700 outcommented code and 300 dead functions which aren't called anywhere?
Why the fuck is here PHP code which generates JavaScript inline which itself generates STATIC (!!) HTML.
------
"Always code like the one maintaining your code next is a violent murderer with an axe and you'll still be save."
... Where's my axe again?9 -

Today my dumb arse learned that DDR4 is a different shape than DDR3. Guess which one I spent weeks waiting for.
Guess which one my mobo supports.

!rant Realized I can embed repl.it repls into a webpage, which means that I can show off all my cool little C/ C++ programs on my portfolio website. Which of course led me to realize my portfolio site needed updating which is of course the reason I’m still up at 4:30 am.4

Node.JS is great sometimes. Here is my HTTP(s) server script, which is 117 generously spaced lines, including a small database of MIMEs, which serves raw files OR allows you to set up request handlers like the one you see here.
Very, super happy with the outcome.4 -
After eating nothing but fresh food/ingredients for the past year, I ordered a carne asada burrito from Cafe Rio. I remember liking them, and it tastes just like I remember, but I'm amazed at how little flavor it has by comparison. It's maybe a third as flavorful as my salads? A quarter? ☹
Eating well really spoils you.7 -
Stack Overflow is the largest, most trusted online community for developers to learn, share their programming knowledge, and build their careers.
But don't worry, no one will ever answer you lol.2 -
I was done arguing with people about undefined and implementation defined behaviors and what the standard is. I had to make this after someone told "which standard book are you talking about? Which university teaches it?"3

What is this “successful project” of which people speak? It is an elusive creature which I have not hitherto observed.4

Which framework can jump the most?

Finally getting my first certificate in Udacity , which is a website where you can have courses in coding 🚶🏻♀️💕...
In order to get it I had to first learn the lessons there and then do a final project which involves all the things I learned which was HTML and CSS in making and designing websites in browsers 🍃21 -

Almost every JS dev : Is this JavaScript?1 -
a "landing page", that was just any and all features of the application forced into one huge, unbearably slow, indeniably confusing page.
which took months of work. which i said beforehand "nobody will use it". which now, through the magic of user tracking, is proven to be used by nobody.3 -

Not trying to start a debate on which editor is best.
Sorry if repeated question.
Which code editor / text editor do you guys use, and why?25 -
One guy asked me which notebook I would recommend to him. Then he wrote that he likes macbook air because it is thin but he is afraid of system which called iOS and he doesn't know if he can crack games on mac.8

MacOS got a dark mode.

Which mean Google will probably make an Android dark mode in 2 years.

If coding is fun then your job (Backend Developer) should be fun right?
No.
You have to setup projects which isn't fun.
You have to setup tools which isn't fun.
You have to write unit tests which isn't fun.
You have to learn to use some frameworks which may not be fun.6 -
Looking for where a certain value is set I found that our project has a (undocumented) class FunctionsHandler which extends a (undocumented) PIHandler which extends an (undocumented) AbstractHandler which extends Object. All of them do random shit. Somebody, shoot me. Please.

People rant about missing semicolon which can be easily solved by switching to a better IDE. And here I am working on a language in which statement terminates with Dot(.) Which is so easy to miss. And worst part is that I can't change IDE.1

The Angular ng-WAT talk: https://youtu.be/M_Wp-2XA9ZU
Most hilarious dev talk I have ever watched! This guy shows the common frustration of reading confusing API docs with even more confusing terminology. Hahaa!
"You have a factory, which is a service and you have a service which is a service. Both have Providers.. and when you write a Factory.. as your service.. you actually write a Provider.. which returns a Factory.. which is basically.. a Service!". WAT3 -
I just can't believe in what state are the "leading" eCommerce systems. It just gives me depression and I'm totally desperate. :(
After 10-15 years one is xml hell, another is insane modules DIY administration, and the last one is bugy slugish mess. Try to guess which one is which.3 -
The worst kind of legacy code is the one in which a function body run miles climbing if-else ladders until nobody knows where the sky hits the floor, and returns when nobody is looking.
The best kind of legacy code is the one which is fully commented out! -
It is finally settled. You have heard that the cure is often worse than the disease. This may not be true anymore.

I don't understand how rubber duck strategy works.
I mean you know it's not listening to you.
I personally prefer making fool of myself and ask a dumb question from a real person which would immediately give me the answer to, than talk to an object, which is basically like talking to my monitor which is the first thing we all do.14 -
I'm on a train which doesn't have any WiFi. And the connection to my cellular is damn near none. Thank God for devRant, which does not need that much to run!4

devRant delivers! Thank you guys :)
Now, which sticker should adorn my work laptop, and which one is for my personal laptop?1 -
So I use 4 differents setups in my life nowadays
My main PC at my home, which is on Windows 7
My PC at work, which is on Windows 8.1
My Cloud PC for gaming and video editing, on Windows 10
My travelling PC, which is on Ubuntu.
The Ubuntu, it's okay, no problem. But trust me, that's a real pain in the ass to switch from one OS to another.4 -
So we had a service provider which would provide climate info. The service is paid for. Then suddenly we started getting irrational or no data. When asking the provider, he said their job is to provide the api and they're not responsible for the quality of the data which apparently comes from other places. So we basically pay for an api which we could have done ourself....2

Hey, privacy guys, I've recently decided to switch to DDG, and I just came across this DDG browser addon. It promises things like
"block all the hidden trackers", which is what AdBlock can also do, "force sites to use an encrypted connection", which makes no sense since most websites using https will redirect to https automatically, "Search Privately", which is already supported by them without installing the add-on, and "Decode Privacy Policies" which is the only feature that seems to be useful. Should I use it?3 -
Does anyone have a mnemonic for x and y and which is which, on a graph? I feel like I have to look it up or guess every time. Some day a building is going to collapse because of one of my guesses.11

One of the best things about linux is the ease with which you can update packages, just sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade. None of that stupid installer which downloads an updater which updates the program shit.

Question: which is better approach?
1. Use push notifications to tell react website that new data is available
OR
2. Use SignalR (similar to socket.io) and push data in real time?
The down side of SignalR is server needs to map connections --> use more memory while push notifications doesn't require that12 -

I've made a web page, which is divided in two parts which basically are the same thing but with different designs.
Can any of you please tell me which one should i remove from the project

Part2: http://propika.com/meshume/
I would like to thank in advance anyone who is willing to give me an idea !3 -
I get bored at work if i am working on a project which is too easy for me. I always look for projects where my skills are challenged or need skills which I don’t possess. I get very interested in a project which involves tech I am totally unaware of and have a long deadline. Is it just me? Tell me your thoughts.3

For my next internship, i need a Linux distro, which is easy to use and which doesn't need a Lot of resources while using it in Oracle Virtualbox.
Which distro would you prefer, i think About ubuntu but I'm afraid that it would use to much of my limited resources so that it is nearly impossible to code with it.4 -
If you would create something simular to devRant (which is ofc topic Dev), which main Topic/Theme would it have?12

I want to build a blog. Which language do you recommend me to use? Which is better and why?
I know MEAN, Rails, PHP... But I just can't decide which one to use. I don't wanna use any wordpress-like app (joomla or any other thing).
Thanks! :D10 -
Dammit, why can't the Android SDK use enums!? Figuring out which int constant in which class/interface is relevant to which parameter can be a major PITA...

Aside building Projects, which is your best bet to learn a new language?
Videos or Books ( including articles, posts etc).
Which is your best bet?8 -
On a website, which is evolving, QA guy wants specification for website testing. Da, click anything you find, see if some thing changes. There is no specification which can compensate for incompetence. Aaaaaaaaaaaargh........1

Replace "Check out this devRant" with the first line when sharing.
I have saved a lot of rants but they have the same title and it is hard to see which is which. I suggest to replace that with the first line or first sentence. -
One hell of a devRant, and a very good read which explains why much of what many of us were taught about programming is wrong:

Which is your most loved programming language or in which programming language you think you are an expert??👩💻👩💻
Give your answer below👇👇👇15 -
I was never really into programming which led to bad grades in programming courses I had to take in my college which are mostly based on C. Later, I've realized that it's an easy way to make pocket money ;) as I was a bit good at it and my learning curve is a bit fast, which made everything happen real fast. This is when I started of with Java which was crucial in building an enterprise application. This was the time I made some real progress in programming.

Which Web-Framework is better, or which Framework will dominate the market in the future?
Angular2, React?7 -
So, if anyone has used libpng they will note how much more crap a person has to initialize as compared to one of .net's better features which is a system.drawing instance, which can then be chained to an encoder class with very few options required, which creates well compressed images.
In c++ is there a library more like system.drawing that you people enjoy the use of ? -
First I thought I finally found some public WiFi which isn't unencrypted (Password was on a sign outside).

Huh? *Connects*
*Sign in page opens up which asks for the password*
Well... VPN is the way to go...9 -

I have previously posted something which is similar to this post; however, the amount of relevant information which is provided within this post will hopefully exceed the amount of relevant information which was provided in the mentioned post.
If my skill set, which is visible at http://gyazo.com/d27a11ec203579178c..., interests you, then I request that you contact me at varikvalefor@aol.com, for I am searching for a new correspondent.
Because some individuals have misinterpreted the previous text, I state that I shall continue to hold the position which I have held for the past sixteen-something years; I am merely searching for a personal contact. -
The amount of meetings i had today is insane. We are discussing which text should be a label and which should be a header.
The good news is that i didn’t have competely empty batteries in my headset! -
So... I've been thinking, I tend to default to LVM when trying to create easy-to-manage disk partitions, or when I want to backup a database without long lockings during a dump... Though, now... I got thinking.
What do you guys think, which is better in terms of functionality: BtrFS or LVM?
I know BtrFS offers such thing like full snapshots that allow to easily transfer just the increment over the snapshot origin off to a remote server for archival, but I never fully grew to trust btrfs as a server filesystem... Its...
Younger, and not as widespread, not to mention I don't know any performance statistics to recommend its use for this or that case (Like... Would a high-load database engine stutter flushing all those changes on disk while reading / writing temp tables and such)6 -
