A small story on digitalization
I had spent an hour in the bank with my dad, as he had to transfer some money. I couldn't resist myself & asked:
Dad, why don't we activate your internet banking?
''Why would I do that?'' He asked, ''Well, then you wont have to spend an hour here for things like transfer.
You can even do your shopping online. Everything will be so easy!
I was so excited about initiating him into the world of Net banking.
He asked, If I do that, I wont have to step out of the house?
''Yes, yes''! I said. I told him how even grocery can be delivered at door now and how amazon delivers everything!
His answer left me tongue-tied.
He said ''Since I entered this bank today, I have met four of my friends, I have chatted a while with the staff who know me very well by now.
Two years back I got sick, The store owner from whom I buy fruits, came to see me and sat by my bedside and cried.
When u r Mom fell down few days back while on her morning walk. Our local grocer saw her and immediately got his car to rush her home as he knows where I live.
Would I have that 'human' touch if everything became online?
I like to know the person that I'm dealing with and not just the 'seller'. It creates bonds. Relationships.
Does "online" deliver all this as well?
Technology isn't life #BeHuman
For those who are not getting the context, this things happen in India. It is truth not a fact.17 -
Manager: How come the intern does way more tickets than you?
Dev: Because you told me to only give him the easy ones since he either can’t do them otherwise or takes too long on the hard ones
Manager: Well how is he going to learn if we only give him easy ones?
Dev: That’s what I told you when you orig—
Manager: Assign him ALL of the hard tickets on your board immediately!
*Tickets closed per day drops significantly*
Manager: WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG ON THESE TICKETS!!!!!
Dev: …18 -
So today this Mother F**ker get HR to back him up to accuse me of not communicating well in the team because I consistently asked him (the code owner) why he kept coding not following the coding guideline.
How is it not communicating? He literally ghosted me and blocked me every time I ask him questions. Which I somewhat don't understand what he is trying to do. HR lady told me that a senior software engineer should have the knowledge to understand everything and all the code.
But the code looks like this :43 -
Manager: THE SERVER IS DOWN THE SERVER IS DOWN!!!!
Dev: Ok I’ll look into it
*5 mins later
Dev: Wow these are really strange logs, it’s like config values are being changed all over the place while I’m looking at it
Manager: Well I figured while you were looking into it I’d go i to the server settings and change everything I could find in order to try and get the server back up again. Two sets of hands are better than one, Is it up yet???
Dev: …No.
Manager: I THOUGT YOU SAID YOU’D LOOK INTO THIS. I NEED ANSWERS NOW. WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG?!?!?
Dev: …13 -
Manager: Good news everyone, I made a big giant announcement this morning that the app upgrades will be released today!
Dev: They definitely won’t be, we need another 2 weeks minimum. I told you yesterday
Manager: Ok well I already made the announcement that today was the day so too bad for you.
Dev: Doesn’t change the state of things
Manager: 😡 This announcement is supposed to motivate you to work faster! You guys are making me look bad when you don’t support me like this!
Dev: Working as fast as we can, it’s a 2 person dev team for 4 separate applications so it’s quite a bit to get pushed through
Manager: Ok well then stay extra then, we have to get this out asap. Tell your spouses they are not going to be seeing much of you until this work is done. People are starting to ask questions!!!!!
Dev: Not my problem, it’s done when its done. I’m not staying extra.
Manager: !!
// *************
Might be blowing my cover a little but what are they going to do? Fire me? Good luck getting this out without me. They’ve tried to replace me in the past but the cheapest person they could find was 60k more expensive than me and still couldn’t keep up. Probably they’ll ship the work overseas and the code will die in a dumpster fire and cost them even more. Ah well, just another company that doesn’t deserve code.21 -
Company: Bobby you saved the company millions of dollars this year!!! Great job.
Me: So...how about that extra 2k per year raise.
Company: Um well it just doesn't seem to be in our budget this year.7 -
Manager: Feature C doesn’t work
Dev: We never built feature C
Manager: Nonsense, I remember feature C clearly!
Dev: It’s still in the backlog
Manager: But we had many meetings about it
Dev: Never got put on the board
Manager: Feature C is very important!
Dev: It was never assigned to anyone
Manager: What could possibly be more important than Feature C?
Dev: All the other features you placed on the board and assigned up until now
Manager: Well I need Feature C done asap! It should be top priority!
Dev: Ok then next sprint add feature C to the board and assign it to someone
*Next planning session manager leaves feature C in backlog in favour of other tickets*
*2 days later*
Manager: What is the status of feature C?
Dev: You opted to leave it in the backlog
Manager: BUT IT SHOULD BE TOP PRIORITY!
Dev: …9 -
Dev: So how do you want this feature fixed?
Manager: It should work how it worked before.
Dev: I'm new to this feature, I don't know how it worked before or what is broken about it.
Manager: Well just make it work like it worked before.
Dev: I DONT KNOW HOW IT WORKED BEFORE THAT IS WHY I AM ASKING YOU. PLEASE TELL ME SO I CAN DO MY JOB.
Manager: Just how it worked before!
Dev: ...
Manager: ...
Dev: fuck you17 -
Just got this little stinker added to my board this morning….
Ticket Title: Weird shit going on in app
Ticket Description: (blank)
Attachment: <Screenshot of app logo>
Manager: Well what do you think is causing it?
Dev: Causing what?? This ticket doesn’t describe anything at all
Manager: Well it’s a bunch of different things! The ticket is just a high level summary. Now how long do you think it’ll take to fix?
Dev: …16 -
Manager: We do not identify as a tech company so don’t expect tech company salary increases this year
Dev: Well don’t expect me to bring a tech work ethic then
Manager: !!5 -
Manager: How come the push to prod didn’t happen?
Dev: We told you at the scrum yesterday. To reiterate, our dev environment was crashing so it’s not safe to push to prod until that is fixed.
Manager: Ok well lets set a goal to fix that and push to prod happens today so that it guaranteed happens.
Dev: That was our goal yesterday and it definitely didn’t happen.
Manager: I AM AWARE OF THAT. The corrective action is that this time compliance with the goal is 100% ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY!!
Dev: We’ll do our best, can’t guarantee anything until we figure out what the nature of what is occurring on dev though.
Manager: NO. I AM THE BOSS. YOU WILL 100% ABSOLUTELY COMPLY WITH THIS. THAT IS AN ORDER. YOU WILL SUCCESSFULLY GET THIS UPDATE OUT TO PROD TODAY. ANYTHING LESS THAN THAT SHALL BE CONSIDERED INSUBORDINATION. I WANT STATUS UPDATES EVERY 15 MINUTES ON WHERE WE ARE AT WITH THIS.
Dev: …
Dev: Can I get you to send me that request in an email?
*Manager leaves the meeting*

Job search is ticking along. It’s tough going though because I currently make ~120k and the best offers I’ve received so far are all ~70k because “You only have 2 years experience so you couldn’t possibly have the skills to be worth 120k. You are are junior level developer and 70K is already overpaying for you. We can pay you more later™. No we will not give you that in writing”. Ah well, the hunt continues.17 -
Them: But what if the internet is down how will you Google things?
Me: Well considering our entire application is hosted in the cloud our operations would be halted as we would have no access to GitLab, Azure, Teams, Puppet, or the few dozen critical systems running our business. Googling things would be the least of our problems.4 -
Told some guy who was parking next to the emergency exit to move his car. He was like "uhm, well, you're not going to have an emergency anyway.."
*fire alarm starts*
Perfect timing ^^5 -
I fucking hate it when I'm working and people come and ask 'What are you doing ?' .. Even if they mean well ..
I'd be happy to show them and explain the hell out about finished product though .. !1 -
HR: Hey you really need to be more sensitive with what you say
Dev: What makes you bring this up?
HR: Well we had a concerned employee overhear you telling one of the interns that the Russian word for “approved” is “blyat”.
Dev: Ah.20 -
Well today was a good day, after getting fired from my last job I got awarded in my current one. feels good to be appreciated 🙂3
-
**at daily standup
Dev: and along with a push to production that is what I’ll be doing today
Manager: Good good, alright, nice….. ok who else hasn’t gone yet? Dev how about you go next
Dev: …I literally just went
Manager: What? Well what did you say then? Hey when is that push to prod happening? I feel like there should be one happening sometime soon.
Dev: …8 -
We got the report made by the EU committee that is assigned to evaluate our project (robotics in the service of healthcare).
I was full on trashing the reviewers for writing some seriously dumb shit, and low-key dissing my professor. Until I got to the part where they addressed the work package I was responsible for. They referred to my work as impressive and innovative, and I was like, well, maybe they're not that bad 😂10 -
I’m getting fucking tired of having this conversation:
Company “we need x”
Me “ok. In order to deliver x I need y”
Company “we can’t do that”
Me “ok. Then can I have y”
Company “nah ah”
Me “what about Q?”
Company “nope”
Me “okay. Well until you decide to provide me with the resourcing needed, this is getting deprioritized”
Company “wait this needs to be top of mind”
Me “okay. Provide me with y, and I’ll deprioritize other work”
Company “wait we also need that other work”
Me “you’re only getting one. Pick which one you want first”
Company “we’ll get back to you”
Me (muttering) “no you won’t”
Company “what?”
Me “what?”10 -
Merry Christmas to the whole pile of you! ⛄
Unless you don't want a merry Christmas. Then that's fine as well9 -
Manager: We should do X with the database
Dev: That will cause issue Y
Manager: But I read an article that said that issue Y wasn’t a problem
Dev: It did?
Manager: Well it didn’t mention issue Y

So the new robot (Dingo) arrived yesterday. Today I did the unboxing, and damn was it disappointing. I realized the university purchased it not from the company I recommended, and they messed up the delivery.
The robot controller was missing, and the charging cable did not match the charging station input. Like dude, you had one job!
Since the lady in administration decided to disregard my recommendation and order from a random shop, she might as well assemble the robot herself....15 -
Manager: How’s the progress coming along?
Dev: The section of code I’m working with is one of the more difficult ones so it’s a little slow
Manager: Ok well I didn’t write that section of the code
Dev: I’m not saying you did I’m just giving you the status update that you asked for
Manager: Ok well I can’t really do anything about that so how about you tell me something I can do something about instead of just complaining about code THAT I DIDN’T EVEN WRITE!! *Marks self as offline*
Dev: …10 -
Manager: Hey Dev I need to do QA on this PR.
Dev: That PR is not finished yet
Manager: Well do QA now anyway, that way when it is finished it can be merged in right away since QA has already been done on it. It’s a project management technique called “fast-tracking” and it improves efficiency.

During a company wide status meeting where all product managers, architects and directors assemble:
Me: *A product architect leading a team of devs*
Directors: So are there any issues or risks you see in delivering the next build in target time for Client 1?
Me: There are too many changes in feature requirements. First they said we can use a shared NFS for storage. Now they are asking to switch over to SFTP pull mode.. blah blah..
Directors: Oh I see.. well we can support both solutions then.
Me: But the deadlin..
Directors: *ignores what I say* Will be a good marketing point for future.
Me: But there are too many regressions in integra..
Directors: *ignores what I say* We should also meet deadlines. That is the most important thing.
Me: Its not as easy as 1+1=2.. The team needs more time to..
Directors: *ignores what I say* Ok lets move on to the next point. What about Client 2?

Doing some Christmas shopping.
Creating some throwaway accounts in various e-shops
Some e-shops send me my password via email upon registration.
I've spent the better half of a day emailing those e-shops to revise their IT security policies.
Haven't bought a single gift yet.
Time well spent!6 -
Udemy courses are targeted at ABSOLUTE beginners. It's excruciating to pull through and finish the course "just because". And some of these courses are jam-packed with 30-60 hours just for them to appear legit, but the reality is the value you get could be packed to 3-5 hours.
You're better off just searching for or watching for the things that you need on Google or YouTube.
You'll learn more when building the actual stuff. Yes, it's good to go for the documentation. Just scratch the "Getting Started" section and then start building what you want to build already. Don't read the entire documentation from cover to cover for the sake of reading it. You won't retain everything anyway. Use it as a reference. You'll gain wisdom through tons of real-world experience. You will pick things up along the way.
Don't watch those tutorials with non-native English speakers or those with a bad accent as well. Native speakers explain things really well and deliver the message with clarity because they do what they do best: It's their language.
Trust me, I got caught up in this inefficient style a handful of times. Don't waste your time.rant mooc bootcamp coursera freecodecamp skillshare tutorial hell learning udacity udemy linkedin learning9 -
Well I did it guys. I'm officially a Software Engineer.
I'm feeling serious imposter syndrome. Working on telling myself that I'll be OK though.8 -
It's always the same shit with some developers. Someone notices that an app is calling an API way too much, causing it to throttle. This is caused by a UI that does ~100-400 HTTP requests when you open a page. Someone comes and offers multiple solutions to cut down those requests by changing the UI behavior, dropping the request amount to less than 10% or maybe even zero.
Then comes one developer "WhY cAn'T We bAtCh thE ReQueSts?" Well, you fucking blockhead, what's the point in rendering 300 items on a page anyway when at any given time a user can maybe see five of them on his screen? These numbskulls have zero idea of how to solve technical issues with simple UX tweaks. Learn some UI/UX design if you're a front-end developer ffs.9 -
Worst meeting. Hmm..
Embarrassment wise maybe the one where my boss called me the queen of porn in front of everyone. Yes, classy AF. (Just have to know him to know his sense of humor I guess).
Most cringe worthy meeting was probably when our out of state national director came in and basically told us he has no clue what we do nor does her care to learn. We brought up salaries to him as well as we're in the bottom 8th percentile for the industry in our area with HUMONGOUS work loads, like 20 sites per developer at once. This is a huge multi-million dollar corporation, mind you. We told him some of us have to have 3 jobs to survive and he basically said well you're an at will employee so there's the door. He also took phone calls and sent emails during my one on one meeting which we never finished even though he promised to. But he bought us a shirt, so you know, it's all cool. 🙄11 -
I just applied for one of those big big biiiiiiiig companies in robotics...
Something in my mind is telling me that I am actually losing it. Like, my mind. I must be losing my mind. 🤔
Oh well! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯27 -
Remember the super duper company I applied for? (Last rant)
Well, I did their coding challenge. And after many years I had to do a metric crapton of C++. It's not a fun language. It's frustrating how human-unfriendly it is, and maybe one reason why I low-key like it.
Anyways, here's hoping that I didn't fuck up too much.
On a side note, I realized tensorflow actually has a cpp api. I think I'm gonna work with that in my next mental breakdown. 🧐8 -
Well one thing that became obvious today is that companies that make wifi routers really dont want you flashing other firmware on it.
For example i got a new router cause it was time.
Ofc fully compatible with OpenWRT. The thing tho ? The GUI flashing process accepts only encrypted binaries. And surprise we as customers cant encrypt it like they do.
So the next thing that comes to mind instantly is UART. They cant break that right ? Well turns out they can. They just disallow key inputs from console. So you cant make the damn device load into TFTP mode.
And D-Link has this lovely recovery utility that accepts unencrypted firmware. EZ way to flash it right ? WRONG. The garbage doesnt load second time after you load it once in 1 boot. And even if you get it to start loading the firmware. It wont really flash it.
Luckily there was an exploit :)
And joining via telnet and enabling http server on PC and wget-ting the binary from there. And flashing.
Honestly now. I pay money for this garbage. I own the hardware. Let me do what i want with it.
At least it runs kernel 5.10 now and is super fast :) Worth the trouble honestly
(Should be noted im not new to flashing firmware on routers. But this is the first one that really didnt want me to flash it. Like nuking my freaking UART access ? Taking it too fucking far)7 -
My advisor thought that my MCL algorithm behaves a bit strange, so he wanted me to investigate it. I said I'd be happy to review the code because I anyway considered refactoring, and asked if I can have another pair of eyes to help me.
A more senior PhD student was assigned to help me, and by the suggestion of my advisor we tested my code against a very well-written and well-performing implementation of MCL. This implementation was written by another professor, who is a close friend of my advisor and the actual supervisor of the student assigned to help.
But this implementation was optimized for a very specific type of maps, and on the maps I worked on it just failed consistently. The student, in a misguided attempt to protect the pride of his advisor and subsequently his, wasted days adding code and fine-tuning the implementation.
In the meantime, my MCL has a stable configuration that converges on both types of maps. It behaves differently, but the outcome is about the same as the other implementation.
I am a little sick of wasting my time (week+) on someone else's attempt to reassure their ego, so I'm doing my planned research work on the weekend...1 -
i had this weird dream. i invented a programming language that was connected to the physical world. every time an object was instantiated during runtime, a 3D printer would print this object immediately in real time, into the void of a confined space without gravitation (like a physical stack, but not like a stack). if this object was passed objects as function parameters of its methods, these little objects were printed as well and temporarily moved into the orbit of this object, orbiting it like electrons or little moons.29

Well, well, well, my new year's gift:
Someone is jamming thousands of requests per second, and NO firewall. JWT tokens that expires in 3 HOURS.
Now MORE THAN 40K stolen.
But, where did it come from? https://devrant.com/rants/4961285/...16 -
Definitly !rant; btw long post ahead
Soooo not so long ago i joined this community by chance just cuz i installed some app randomly found on google store and what can i say. Best decision ever!
I can say i never met such an interesting and diverse communitiy ever and i kin of ground fond of it (i usually dont get too attached to peoples).
After a while i felt the urge to get myself involved into some disscusion at some random post and i did it. But it felt empty as my image was just a plain green bubble of anonymity. But yeh, i am cool with it, i will customize it after some ++es. No problem!
I got incremented for a while and i got to make a simple generic avatar. I felt again a urge, but this time to customize even more. Sadly, anything cool needs approval by the people. Soo i kind of let it go as i am not really the kind to find myself talking in other businesses and i moved over.
Until i saw it! Not the tiger, not the bird but the dog! Annnd i wanted it so i made a joke that i am a wizard with an invisible dog. What can go wrong, right? Well the thing is.. it did not go wrong, as expected, but it went great, kinda unexpected.
How? Well, some random stranger felt me and gave me a hunble chance to get closer to my dreamy real dog. And so it begin, my crusade to get that damn dog!
But what i have realised fast is .. this is not facebook! Nor Instagram! People doesnot upvote attention whoreing or such lowly acts, but they are actually prone to support people who just.. get involved.
And so i did. I got involved. I actually got involved in a community! For a awkwardly introvert person that's something, but maybe more than few of you people can relate to this.
And today i finally reached that goal! I have a real doggo! Well, real as in not invisible, not as in a great responsability, but now i have both. But this was not such a big deal. The big deal is that i found people whos interests are alike to mine and are prone to help, support and befriend others. I must say, thanks to all! Wonderful time, and while i am not here for a long time, i will surely be!
Cheers and dev on!17 -
My worst interview ever was my first interview fresh out of college. After the initial phone screen, they asked me to drive 2 hours to their office to give me a "code challenge."
The challenge was to spend 4 hours writing a simple rest API for a blog type thing, but the catch was to not use any existing libraries for data access and instead write an entirely database agnostic DAL. Then after I finished they sat me in a conference room with 3 of their engineers and the CEO to just tear apart my code.
For a JUNIOR position to someone fresh out of college.
I guess I defended it well, because they asked to continue the process l, but after that I found a different position.4 -
I recently gave an interview in a software company, and was rejected cause I took half a minute to connect my webcam and turn on my video 🤷.
I had just moved into an apartment at that time, so my place was not well managed. I attended the meeting in time but didn't have my webcam turned on. They asked me and it just took half a minute for me to turn on and start the meeting. Everything went well there, and they asked me to complete their coding challenge which was a development task. It was a huge task where I had to build a full-stack app (frontend + backend) with basic crud and auth features. I completed that in 2 days and presented it to their tech lead. He loved my work, he was impressed that I was able to complete their challenge in such a short time.
They said they will get back, and after a few weeks, they said that I was rejected. I reached out to ask for constructive feedback on why I was rejected and they said:
“Communication during the interview - interview
preparation: the video wasn't available at the start and needed to check the headset at the start of the meeting” 🙈7 -
New spin on the Manager / Dev format!
Recuiter: WE NEED AN ABSOLUTE NODE EXPERT, NODE NODE NODE, WE LOVE NODE! WHAT IS YOUR NODE EXPERIENCE?!?!
Dev: Well I've had exposure to it since it was nearly new, all the way back in 2012, and since my professional career started about 7 years ago I've used it fairly often on a per-project basis.
Recruiter: WELL HAVE YOU BEEN USING IT DAILY FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS!?!
Dev: Well no, as I said I've used it for specific projects... anyway, there are these things called weekends...
Recruiter: WELL WE ONLY WANT NODE ZOMBIES SO SORRY.
Dev: Thanks for reaching out and wasting my time.
Recruiter: ...
Dev: ...
God recruiters are like robots, don't they understand senior-level engineers are language agnostic?6 -
Fuck Reddit admins. Fuck them in ass with a rusted iron rod. Then pour in some liquid steel and dehydrate them to death.
Bloody fucks.
Remember the toxic girl who stalked and harassed me? She did that on Reddit.
After multiple reports to faggot admins, no action was taken against her multiple accounts.
I ended up creating few alt accounts for my mental well-being.
I have been contributing fairly well from all my accounts earning community trust and reputation, even behind the mask of anonymity.
Now, day before yesterday, a teen started abusing me for no reason on a local sub. I ended up ignoring.
Next morning I am notified that admins banned my account permanently.
What the fuck! I did not violate any policy and yet I was kicked out.
I raised an appeal for those fags to look into this and uplift the ban.
Fuckers banned all my accounts permanently without giving any reason.
Instead of taking action against retards who harass people, these bhenchods ban people who contribute in a good way.
I truly wish, that the person who made this decision rots to death while feeling the pain of regret.
I am soooo fucking annoyed. I have been using Reddit for many good reasons and have found it really helpful in various areas of my life.12 -
Stumbled upon VS Code recently, an open source freeware from Microsoft. And as a VIM fan, I must say that it blew me away with its sleek nature.
Been a user of Sublime and Atom in the past as well, but VS code surely stands out.9 -

By not having them. Seriously, every job I had was more than average paying and I was overqualified for the tasks. Sure I didn’t develop oh-so-important software but I never had to do overtime, lose sleep because of workplace difficulties.

"Update on the last meeting, we'll either release what we've got or do something different"
WELL NO SHIT! 🤦♂️5 -
So I was interviewing at company X, through recruiter A. It all went well - one of the best feedbacks I have ever received actually, but then they went quiet for a bit... only to have the recruiter A call me about 3 days later and tell me that apparently the project they had planned to get me on, was a no go for a while and that they would contact me again within a month or so.
Meanwhile, recruiter B called me up and sent me to company Y and asked me what my situation was at other interviews. I said that I was interviewing at company X and that they came back to me and said the project is delayed and they'll contact me within a month or so.
Recruiter B starts a rant about how he hates when companies do that and that he, as a recruiter, would loose trust in that company if something like that happened.
And now company Y goes quiet for 2 days. Recruiter B calls me and says exactly the same thing.
So naturally, I say - "ah that's a shame, you must be loosing trust in company Y now."
He pauses and says - "Well umm"... another big pause. "I see what you mean, but umm..." another pause and this awkward silence.
"thanks", I said and I hung up. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯7 -
the most incompetent person that ever worked with me had no proactivity, always waited for an explicit order to start to do anything and had absolutely no autonomy. this guy would frequently ask me stuff that he could find with a google search.
when the IT team was let go, the company lined me up for another job, and my boss actually told me "you work well so i can refer you, but i can't do the same for <that guy>". i honestly thought that was his first job, but no. i have no clue how he managed to work in a hospital before that.6 -
Company: “we need you to engineer this for one of our clients because you’re an engineer and this is what we pay you for.”
Me: “sure no problem”
Company: “we also need you to do a cost benefit analysis, risk/reward analysis, gap analysis and swot analysis for market fit and business finance because we didn’t task anyone else with doing it and since we’re already paying you for this other thing you may as well do this too”
Me: (opens up resume.docx) “yeah I’ll uh…I’ll get right on that”2 -
Devs : Lets pick library X, it is well know piece of open source technology, actively maintained by community for over 10 years.
Architect : NAH, it is an overkill to use it in our project , lets build our own solution.
*2 Months later*
The code base is hundreds of thousands lines of code, we basically started to look at library X on GitHub to copy features or get inspiration from that code. In that time we delivered 0 business value, it is horrible to use it and we constantly adding something or bugfixing because no one thought about something in first place.2 -
my boss praised me again, for just routine stuff, doing my job. I'm not even doing it too well. he said "oh but it's not about that, it's just that you're doing it". oh. honey... that's a really sad thing to say 😂4

A couple of weeks ago, I got to the second stage of a recruitment process with a relatively big fintech in the crypto space (I know) - all went well and although I did not think much of it at first, with all the information I had gathered I came to realize this might as well be the best opportunity I've had in my pursuit of finding a new job (i.e looking for high technical challenges, unsure of where I see myself in 5 years, wanting to give full-remote work a try, etc.).
Cue to the end of the interview;
"That's great! I really enjoyed speaking with you, your technical background seems excellent so we would like to move to the next stage which is a take-home test to do in your free time.", said the interviewer.
"Wow! Much amaze, well of course! What's it gonna be?", said the naive interviewee.
"I'm sending you the details via email, please send it back in 48 hours, buhbye now", she hangs up.
...
"48 hours?? Right, this should be easy then, probably some online leetcoding platform, as usual.", thought the naive interviewee, who evidently went through this sh*t numerous times already.
A day later I receive the email: this was the whole deal. The take-home test supreme with bacon and cheese. A full-blown project, with tests, a project structure, a docker image, testing and bullet points for bonus points! The assessment was poorly written with lots of typos and overall ambiguity, a few datasets were also provided but bloated with inconsistent comments and trailing whitespace.
What the actual fck??? Am I supposed to sleep deprive myself to death while also working my day job? What are you trying to assess? How much of my life I'm willing to sacrifice for your stupid useless coding challenge? You are not all Google, have some respect, jeez.
I did not get the job.2 -
Web Devs - How many projects do you typically work on at once? I am currently developing 24 websites at once, most of them custom (homepage). I just feel like that is absurd and my company is absolutely insane. Not to mention I'm the front line for client communication as well, pretty much the project manager AND developer. We're a huge company too, not a start up. Just feel like not having project managers for web dev industry is unprecedented except for freelance. 😡👎🏼18

I'm just fucking glad this day is over
* less than 3h of sleep thanks to insomnia
* unable to get breakfast
* unable to concentrate at work
* Almost falling asleep
* Lunch was not even enough to sate my hunger
* Accidentally upset a good friend because I cannot communicate well in general, but even worse when tired
* Get something snitched away from my by cutting in line
* get told by said person that I should have reacted faster
* get told by said person that they'll sell me the the thing that was supposed to be mine in the first place
* get a half assed apology when they saw that they made me mad (still keeping mentioned item)
* Don't get to meet up with friend for workout
* Get home and don't even wanna do anything4 -
Nothing pisses me off more than a manager that keeps demanding shit but when you ask for support they deny it from you. well guess what? two can play this game, bitch.3

Recently applied at a local company. Webform, "enter some details and we'll get back to you"-like.
Entered my details, hit submit, lo and behold "Error 503 - something went wrong on our end".
I was just baffled. It's a well-established IT company and they can't even get their application form to work?
So I'm sitting there in the debugger console, monitoring network stuff to see if anything is weird. I obviously hit submit some several more times during that.
Eventually I give up.
In the night my phone wakes me up with a shitton of "we've received your application and will review it..." emails.
Yeah they didn't get back to me.2 -
That log4j RCE is some fucking nasty business!!! Its exploits have already been observed multiple times in our company scope.
Time for some unplanned Saturday evening hot-patches :/
P.S. Why the fuck leave such a feature enabled as default??? I mean really, whose brilliant idea was "let's leave the message parser enabled as well as the LDAP query hooks... BY FUCKING DEFAULT!!!"
I mean really, is anyone using that? ANYONE?
And then they laugh at me when I say "stay away from frameworks", "use as little libraries as possible", "avoid foreign code in your codebase",...
you know what.... JOKE'S ON YOU!10 -
I recently learnt that even chrome and Firefox use Webkit instead of their own engines in the iPad, because Apple requires so. So you can not use any alternative browser. You can not install oder versions of Safari as well. You can not open any browser-console or whatever. What the serious fuck.
I've hated Apple for my life but now I have even reasons!5 -
Shit went very well - I am really happy for my future
Hopefully, the bureaucracy will be faster for me :P
Details? Not yet6 -
Being me. Fresh out of UNI with a three year bachelor in CS, no work experience. Starts in a big tech company with a lot promise of exciting project etc. Starts in 3 projects with one lead dev and two senior devs.
First month begins. I start by setting up my local environment and read documentations, which is fairly irrelevant and old. One of the senior devs quits.
Second month begins. Lead dev quits as well and the other senior dev having sick leave for the rest of the month. Basically I'm on my own, but thankfully not responsible for the projects.
Third month begins. The other senior dev is still sick. Nobody to help. Now I'm forced to talk to customer with a lacking knowledge of projects. Nobody knows what is going on. Hopefully my other senior dev will come back.
Fourth month begins. My senior have quit as well. I've been assigned as responsible of all three projects now. FML.
Fifth month begins. I begged my manager for help. Got a junior dev to help me with one of the projects. He and I still have no clue what we should do.
What a shitty start to a career as a developer.
Anybody having a similar experience?3 -
Microsoft Teams can burn.
Their latest feature ? Well, turns out that when I get notifications on mobile that I do not get on desktop BECAUSE I AM FUCKING INTERACTING WITH THE CHAT OR CHANNEL THAT SENDS ME MOBILE NOTIFICATION, the notifications do not clear themselves. Oh, no, that would be too smart.
So EACH FUCKING EVENING I sit and browse all the fucking notifications to see if there is anything noteworthy I need to act on, or if it is a dead notification from earlier today.
Dear Lord, Microsoft are fucking experts at TAKE A WORKING FEATURE AND BRAKE IT.14 -
Working in security for many years only granted me world-class paranoia about taking pictures of myself and my family. It even made it hard to keep in touch with my friends as we don’t live in the same country anymore.
The good side is that it pays well enough to grant me a platinum foil hat.8 -
[wordpress trigger warning]
Had an idiotic colleague who re-implemented the insert image function as a shortcode. A “senior php developer”. No, I’m not kidding.
Him: “But this way we can set a class”
Me: “As you can with the standard mode”
Him “No you can’t”
Me: *shows*
Him (smiling): “well why don’t you remove my stuff then?”7 -
After months of searching for jobs, ended up I got called by a guy who claimed that he would want to partner with me to start a company. Well, I would love to start one, not without certain knowledge.
The so-called "partner" has a very bad attitude, unable to communicate, blames others for his own wrongdoing, arrogant, gullible and ignorant.
He asked me whether I believe in a deity (God). He demanded me to swear to the "upper heavens" that I will get "eternal punishment" if I ever cheated or betray his every decision.
This is a huge red flag!
I just want to have a "will smith slap" him so hard.6 -
Team estimated a huge feature with 60 days. Made a prototype in a day, implemented it in the project the next day. Code looks a lot cleaner than a previous similar solution.
Now it’s 90% done. Should have worked with 2 other people. Oh well, sorry not sorry for that teamwork.3 -
So I've got my first sort of proper gig. I'm tasked with writing...
A goddamn minecraft plugin in java.
Well, it's actually rather fun strangely enough. My ideas of payment were not declined but rather accepted, the other devs are nice and everything is going well for now.
Also: Do expect a mental breakdown post next week or so8 -
First code review ever, and it's for my job.
Guy was really nice and polite.
Even correctly guessed I don't have much experience with professional coding outside my associates degree and prior job where I was the only programmer most of the time I was there.
Said that since it works functionally and is such a small program there's nothing wrong with it if it meets our purposes ( low priority project )
Then he politely in his words 'nitpicks' 3 points and gives me ideas on how to make it more reliable and less likely to need replaced or completely refactoring in the future.
I think my first time getting code reviewed went well. And one of the things he mentioned was something I didn't know how to do and only took 20 some minutes to implement so I also learned something new from this7 -
I recently got into an interview where the interviewer made a huge mistake:
R: “what’s your resignation period?”
Me: “well, long story short I’m working on a contract so it’s actually short, just 1 month”
R: “mhhh could you make it 2 weeks somehow? We may really need to start sooner”
This is a sentence you shouldn’t say as a recruiter as now I know:
- You are desperate to find someone
- You have a time urgency
- You failed to find someone before
- You basically confirmed you want me in9 -
Yeah well fuck right off then. I'm just going to build a bot to auto signup for every possible username combination left in the latin alphabet. Then after the media bullshit dies down they'll be changing this policy.

You think jQuery would finally have died after the IE era? Or that it would only be used to still pander to IE users?
Well... nope: https://w3techs.com/technologies/... says jQuery 3 has overtaken jQuery 1, which was the only version to even polyfill IE.
WTF is wrong with web devs, just WHY?! jQuery's use cases are shit that would be simpler and with less code without jQuery, shit that should be done in CSS instead, or shit that doesn't belong on websites to begin with.42 -
Fucking retards littering my code review.
I had posted some important questions in my comment (essential in order for the code review to move forward) and this asshole posted some stupid out of context meta crap comments no way related to the subject of the review pushing my questions out to the point that a lot of scrolling is needed to see them. Now I need to get everyone’s attention back to the point that matters. Why does this happen to me ? This actually happens quite a lot with other forums as well. Trash mouths going off topic.6 -

I decided to go freelance/contracting. Headhunters keep pitching me permament roles (and I love watching them run out of pitch lines :D )
Headhunter: This job can't do your asking salary, but can offer career development.
Me: Already did that. was Engineer, then Architect, then CTO. I'm actually stepping back to be an Engineer.
Headhunter: Ok well, in this job you can do things start to finish, see them through to the end.
Me: I actually get bored after a while. Prefer change.
Headhunter: Well this place has a great culture and fun atmosphere!
Me: It's an insurance company mate...2 -
"Yesterday "
Client: ''Perfect! How did you do this do quickly? "
Me: "I used a library"
"Today "
Me: "I'm still debugging. It will take some time"
Client: "well, It has already taking too long.... I can hear Mozart in the background. Maybe you need to go to a library to get some quite and get it done fast. Visit the one you used yesterday. "
Me: "library?Ahh... I meant plug in like.... Code, a library is a bunch of packed code. "4 -
I wouldn't say it's upsetting but confusing.
I had an interview at a household name where I asked for feedback. They only told me I did well in the technical and every other area, and that I was the first person they interviewed in the last 2 months to make it passed the technical part.
Less than half a day later I got a rejection email.3 -
If my Kickstarter campaign get approved an its succeed finally I can afford to hire some of you guys :)
I made it possible to check the un-inspected pre-beta holdings here:

There are 28053 of them. I have to say that It's going well considering that no one wants to join me in development... it makes me a bit sad...8 -
Shit will hit the fan pretty soon. We're understaffed, the team is all talking about jumping ship and all other teams rely on our work, so if we jump ship, it sinks. It's really amazing that management is unaware or choosing to actively ignore the possibility. Either way, they're fucking up big time. Honestly, if it happens, it will be well deserved, it just sucks for everyone else working under them5

When I worked in a non-dev env, the best part was that I was done with work after working hours. I didn't stress out or even think about the issues. It was something for tomorrow or someone else to worry about. And so, I was not mentally exhausted and stressed out all the damn time.
So, I shall try to bring that mentality to my dev life too. With this new position I'm starting soon, I really want to do well for at least a few years. And that would need me to chill the fuck out. Particularly after work.4 -

I received a pair of complements on how well I run team meetings after an engineering all staff this morning. Received a similar comment last week.
Someone asked “what’s your secret?”
I reply “Laziness”
“What?”
“I’m lazy. I don’t like meetings most of the time. So when I run meetings, I run them so that they’re over as fast as possible”
“How do you do that?”
“By knowing what I actually want”
“What if you don’t know what you want?”
“Then there’s no meeting”
“Well what if y-“
“Hey listen I have another meeting to get to”3 -
What is it with devs (not all, by any means!) who don't understand networks or basic computer operation? I'm not talking about anything complex, but things like the dev who asked if his IP address could be whitelisted so he could remote in from home. We asked what his public IP address is and he said 10.0.0.27.
Or the new dev who started and said her laptop camera didn't work and logged a ticket, only to be asked if she had the camera cover open or closed and said, "oh, that's what that lever is for."
Don't get me wrong - many devs and sysadmins and IT people of all fields are excellent. And there are some who are crap in every field. This is no rant about devs in general, just *these* crap devs that I can only throw my hands in the air and think, well, they scored ok in the SQL test.4 -
I'm truly surprised how well Linux is coping with my 32GB RAM dev laptop :)
Currently open and actively used:
1. 2x Chrome windows (70-100 tabs total)
2. 5x IntelliJ Idea projects
3. 3x AndroidStudio projects
4. 2x different grade daemons
Still snappy, still quick af!
I wonder how windows would handle that. From my xp 2 IDEs already were a struggle34 -
Recruiter reaches out to me, he says he saw my LinkedIn and thinks I'd be a great fit.
I say ok and send my resume.
He gets me a phone screen. I do it, I think I do a pretty good job. (I'm able to answer all the questions well, I think I'm onto the coding interview for sure.)
A couple days later I get a generic rejection email.
I'm not sure what happened. They had my resume, I know I did well on the technical questions (I do that kind of thing for my current job all the time.)
No idea why I'm rejected. If it was something about my experience, they could have seen that from my resume. If it was something from my phone screen, I have no idea what it could have been.
Just wanted to rant >:[8 -
It's official, the "front end dev" doesn't know how to code.
Why.
And it's not a "Well I don't know JS because I use React." scenario, no. He has almost no idea of coding.
What was he thinking trying to build the front end of a very complex app with just HTML, CSS and stupid copied and pasted snippets?5 -
I really invested into this work from home lifestyle, moving in an appartment where i could have my own office, upgrading my personal workstation, leaving overpriced locations close to subways behind.. so i do hope it will remain like this for at least a few more years (or why not, even forever for dev roles)
It's way better than a shitty office placed in location equally incomfortable for everyone
Otherwise.. well, there is always the option to go freelancing from home3 -
I guess the job I’m at now? I’ve been paid for 8 months and I’ve produced nothing, they’re happy about it and I was given a pay rise. It has taken me months to make deployments and I feel like some days I might’ve well of had a day off. If I had a sick day I still get paid for a full day even if it was for a whole week. How did I get this job and wtf do I even do? 😂💃🏻💃🏻 <= that’s me dancing8

Follow up to: https://devrant.com/rants/5047721/....
1- The attacker just copy pasted its JWT session token and jammed requests on the buy gift cards route
2- The endpoint returns the gift card to continue the payment process, but the gift card is already valid
3- Clients wants only to force passwords to have strong combinations
4- Talk about a FIREWALL? Only next month
5- Reduce the token expiration from 3 HOURS to 10 minutes? Implement strong passwords first
6- And then start using refresh tokens
BONUS: Clearly someone from inside that worked for them, the API and database password are the same for years. And the route isn't used directly by the application, although it exists and has rules that the attacker kows. And multiple accounts from legit users are being used, so the person clearly has access to some internal shit7 -
Music. Music teaches you numbers, creativity, patterns, structure, and basically primes your brain for math and creativity in that space. In addition, it teaches you how to think both within a structure and outside the box, as well as the importance of repetition, memorization, and learning a new language.
Music really was my second language, and the ability to read/write it fluently is a skill that takes a long time to master. I really believe that it increases your brain plasticity so much.4 -
Unpopular opinion: unit tests are often overrated.
Although a well written test suite is almost essential in some parts of the application (I.E. business logic) I cringe when I see hundreds or thousands of line which “mocks” everything to test a micro service which just does CRUD operations on a database, in cases like that unit tests are just a waste of time because almost every operation involves a mock which may not behave like the real database and often needs to be rewritten when the code undergoes a huge refactoring. In these case a integration test suite is faster to write and way more helpful.7 -
So today my pr needed approval. One of the lines of code created a unique ID using the uuid4 functionality.
I got a reject saying I didn't handle a case where I would get the same uuid twice.
Well, I guess it would be the problem of the developer working on my code in a couple thousands of years 🤷♂️2 -
*sighs heavily, utters a few profanities, starts updating resume*
This one is on me. I thought I had vetted this place well and asked the right probing questions during the interview, the core product is very cool but the company is too functionally immature.
it feels like Im in a relationship with someone who is really nice, very attractive and clearly very book-smart but has absolutely zero emotional intelligence and even less of a clue in general about what they actually want and need from the relationship. And to that I say:
“…yeah nah.” -
my covid is still not recovered. Today marks the two weeks. I got fever the first day and then fever was gone but body pain and weakness was there. In 2 days, body pain was gone too. Now I couldn't only eat well. So tried light food but after sometime it was harder to eat properly.
Now I'm having the same diet I used to have before covid, but I'm still not feeling well. I feel pain in my shoulders. My heart races almost all the time and that gives restlessness to my days and it's very hard to focus because of that. Family issues, work, excitement of switching companies, even small bit of sound makes me more restless. If someone has the same symptoms when did they last?38 -
I used to hate marketing.
But now, I realised how powerful of a tool it is.
Indians are dumb and wide majority are fucking illiterate out of choice.
Dumb morons. Add as much glamour as possible, and you will be able to sell these fuckers anything.
99% of the elders in my family are illiterate. Many of my cousins post fake success photos and market themselves in family group.
All the boomers think that the kids are doing well. No critical thinking. In reality, those cousins are struggling like crazy.
The boomers, including my retarded father, think that I am a useless piece of shit. According to them, I am a waste of oxygen.
Trust me, market well and you can make billions in Indian market.

Upgraded from a gen 6 motherboard and cpu to a gen 11. And the difference is asounding.
My old setup did everything I needed it to pretty well. Hell it got me through college as well as multiple part time and full time jobs. As well as the system that I learned about 80% of what I know specifically for my career
But alas the old cpu's age started showing and I'd consistently throttle multiple threads when compiling or even just using 7z on large folders. Hell deleting anything above a couple hundred mb would pause for a few seconds
The new cpu is immensely faster on such tasks (probably cause of the extra 2 cores and cpu improvements since gen 6)
I haven't been this excited since I got my first SSD a few years ago and saw the immense boot time improvements. Maybe soon I'll get an nvme drive and really be zooming with this setup 🤣🤣🤣7 -

Without a textfield to explain the answer It highly depends on how deeply you think about it..

Can you do x with technology y alone?

Extreme example but you get my point..6 -
i think it's a waste of time and resources to memorize syntax and other stuff you can google. since we have a lot of material available, we should focus on logic, more abstract concepts, stuff you can't copy paste. well, I think that should be the way in every area, not only CS15

Honestly, the most underrated skill in tech is communication. Writing clear, succinct emails and telling the story without rambling is a critical skill. If hiring comes down to a wire, I would hire a dev that can communicate well than someone with pure technical skill but zero communication skills.4

Somehow I enjoy creating flawlessly working nifty utilities a lot more than writing actual business code.
It's that versatility and reusability of a well-written utility that makes it suitable for many use-cases that puts a smile on my face.
A single-purpose business and use-case-specific piece of code doesn't do it for me anymore. I guess it never did, really...
I wish I could get paid for building tools rather than business apps :)3 -
Just compleeeetteellyy messed up a technical interview.. stupid theory.. I can apply all that stuff but when I get asked to explain then . Well.. I messed up.
And the coding part, I had the right approach but had one big brainfart in it making the whole thing useless (pseudo code so couldnt test it). I realized just after the interview was finished..
I hate the feeling of failure.

this year i finally found a job where I don't feel like dying, and it pays well. things are going so smoothly that I'm a bit weirded out, in a good way.

Brazilian health ministry got a ransomware attack this night.
Why? Not because every city is demanding you to show you're vaccinated in order to go somewhere. Because you have to show it using a 20+ year old system.
Don't get me wrong the UI is nice.
But the servers...
Well, at least I have a document where my shots are registered.
And good luck to us living in this country, where we're known for gorgeous cities (people too) but also for a government that earns 200k+ while working 2 days a week and can employee 40+ people for sitting there and do no fucking shit.
No wonder if you get bad news from here every now and then, it's all true.
The ministries are dumb.
The president is dumb.
And worst. People too.
People don't care. Because they don't know they are part of 94% of more than 200 MILLION that earns minimum wage and strive to live bc the country BUYS things that we ALREADY PRODUCE and have to put a tax to every product to compensate them paying 5x times more to buy in dollars.

Not sure if I found a red flag or a green flag…
“The candidate needs to know react well. No, using npx create-react-app is not enough!”
On a first sight one may think: “oh cool they search someone with in depth knowledge”
On a second thought, tho…
- Am I going to need to start many react projects in the role? Don’t think so.
- if I am… am I forbidden to use cra? Why? 🤔
- how is not using a bootstrapper a sign of “deep knowledge”?
Sounded interesting at first, but the more I think about it, the more I think this request is a red flag.9 -

as a matter of fact one of my parents is actually also in information technology or related field so there are very much aware of how in demand the job is and how difficult it is as well and the best part is a lot of my engineering friends are also switching to computer science and just because it is the better choice of because of how over saturated the engineering field is so yeah i think i have a better career choice than most of my peers

Me (new position): Hey, can I run this locally?
Other dev: No, it can only run through CI.
Me (exploring): Oh, I see. CI -> Docker -> Makefile -> Ansible -> Packer -> Terraform -> new EC2 image -> new EC2 host -> command.
Well fuck. That's not going to work locally.4 -
i have grown to HATE short variable names

Looking for platform specific language options for a new project at work and reading articles from well known sources.
If you start your article with something like, "when I think of a good programming language, I think of JavaScript", I'm going to punch out of your shitty opinion faster than an async function.
When you're trying to convey an unbiased message you generally don't start with, "I'm an absolute shill for {language}".

Until today, I had assumed deploying stuff to prod would NOT be one of my responsabilities in this company. Apparently that's not the case.
Had to deploy my code and pray it didn't break anything. Why is this a big deal at all?
Well you see, there is no repository. At all. No git, no svn, not even duplicate folders. No tests, no pipeline. Just a bunch of CPanels.
Had to manually copy files and folders from the development site to the production site and partially copy a database. "Just drag and drop" were the instructions I was given.
As if using CakePHP2, PHP5 and having to parse fucking Excel files wasn't bad enough, now I have to deal with one of the worst ways to deploy code.
Fuck it, I'm switching on the looking-for-job flag on linkedin.5 -
All these companies not going the full 100% remote and requiring one day in the office, would it kill them to do 100% remote? My current role is fully remote and were spread through many timezones and still manage to work well, why don't companies see this and give an option atleast to be fully remote for developers?12

Looks like I got dislike-banned as well... eventhough I only used it where appropriate.
I understand that our almighty gods dfox and trogus implemented this to fight bots and mischievous downvote cunts, but why not inform the user affected by it?
I fucking hate these silent bans, just like Twatter and YouTwat do it... you feel like you posted something but in reality it disappears and you're not even aware of it.
Man, nowadays a lot of people behave like bots thus I can't blame The Algorithm™...3 -
The shit happens when the development is over and you have to face the team to ask them to create the README.md files to explain the repository.

I propose renaming the title "project manager" into "plim". Why? Well, there is an old soviet nursery rhyme:
I came up with a new word
A funny word called Plim
And I repeat it over:
Plim, Plim, Plim!
It jumps around shouting
Plim, Plim, Plim
Nobody cares about it
Plim, Plim, Plim -

Up until a couple months ago we had 5 devops. Everything went smoothly af. We could get new environments provisioned in a couple of hours.
Now we have 18 of them. It's already day 3 and still noone has a clue why our env provision scripts are failing.
Well... At least I'm getting paid for sitting and waiting for them to finish this circus 😀1 -

I like talking to uber drivers with some limited tech experiences. My uber today was telling me about when he was helping his kid pick parts for their custom desktop as well as setting it up and the weird issues they ran into over time due to it being their first time installing windows from nothing and their troubleshooting process to solve things I might consider basic problems
Simple things yeah. But still interesting to listen about. Maybe I'm just simple and easily entertained -
"AI" Terminator style fear mongering is stupid as fuck, especially when its based on a well trained ML model that call itself sentient.
By that logic i would be god by calling myself a god.
No doube that ML can cause a lot of problems etc and should be supervised, but its entirely diffrent problems, than how stupid the medias talks about ML as "AI".10 -

There's something super broken about the interview process in our industry. I spent 30 minutes chatting with a hr recruiter. 2 hours on a coding screen. 1 hour for a technical interview. 1 hour talking with the head of engineering. But then they decided to pass on me. Well if things went well then, then I spend an entire fucking day on an onsite.
Wow. Since when did the industry get so bloated until we have to do so much to get a job? Is signal really that unclear so candidates have to jump through hoop after hoop?

Job post I saw today. They are either looking for:
- C/C# Dev to the company
- HAPPY Frontend dev

F@#!k my year,
After a year long Mobile app project finally shipped where I served **two lead roles (UX design and mobile dev)**; I had my status meeting with my manager to discuss my next phase of my career. To which I was told I would be promoted to Chief or partner level at my workplace, if shipped on time, which we did.
The response I got was unsettling, I've been asked to "step down" from my architect role and join our innovation sales team since it was discovered I also have an MBA. So much so my skip level manager cut off all my dev licenses week of release. 🤣
The overall need was for me to oversee H1B and contractor resources moving forward on new engagements, as I was now "too expensive". I like coding, but it doesn't sit well with me at all... -
I've had a lot of jobs, and they've all employed some form of single sign-on. But all of them have required enough individual logins for various services that I had to maintain a full category for that employer in my keepass. Until now.
This company has, by far, the most comprehensive SSO I have ever seen. Perhaps it should not be surprising that it works so well, as it is 100% made in-house. But for a company of this size, that's an amazing achievement. It speaks to excellent planning, it seems to me.
Anybody else ever worked for a large company that had a truly unified SSO?2 -
New excuse for not doing work:
"taking data"
My dev system is tied up taking data for an hour to store data for a replay system I intend to build. I need raw data from the system. I need to know how much data I will collect in an hour as well. I also need to collect said data. For about an hour. This data will be fed back into the system sans the data collection. This will allow me to replay whole jobs that our field techs perform. If they get me data I can reprocess the data and fix my positioning algorithms. Kinda fun!
So the excuses are now up to 2:
"compiling"
and
"taking data"9 -

devs: ok well for now we'll leave those out.

As an ex-manager I now realize standups are used for control.
1. It sets a time when everyone must be present (might as well read-out names like it's school)
2. You, the manager, get to have people giving "offerings" of their work for you to approve, deny or bless with your gracious interest ("can you please stay on the call? lets discuss further")8 -
I used to hate email and to consider it a chore but after adopting "inbox zero", switching from web based shit to a proper client and automating the management of the many automatic notifications I get everyday I'm starting to think which when well managed email is still one of the best asynchronous communication tools, far better than sluggish and distracting chats like Teams or Slack which have their place but I think which currently they're pretty overrated.1

the gross feeling when

— prove the god does exist
— prove it doesn't!
— well, the god _did_ exist, when there was no space and no time. I took my heavy masterpiece of a sword, went to meet him and slayed him. And I will die because I want to, and will reincarnate if I want to.
— prove it happened!
— prove it didn't.1 -
I was 7 years old, and my mom’s friend brought me their old computer as a new year present. I was absolutely happy that day, because I wanted my own computer as far back as I can remember. I spent that evening exploring russian psychological (!) sex quiz (!!) with pictures (!!!) :D I found it on C:\
Actually no, there is an earlier memory. I was four, and I really wanted to mess around with my sis’ computer, it was some kind of holiday, maybe the new year as well. They won’t let me do it, and being an engineer, I took a rectangle-shaped candy box and made a “laptop” out of it. I remember drawing the screen, the icons and stuff. And plastic mold that actually handles candy, I turned upside down, and the candy cavities became sort of “buttons” I could press.2 -

Looking at vacancies and the JS build tools asked (Babel, Gulp) and then visiting their websites I notice that I don't understand what they are going on about.
"Leverage gulp and the flexibility of JavaScript to automate slow, repetitive workflows and compose them into efficient build pipelines."
What the actual corpo fuck?
The "get started" page expects you already know npm, typescript, and when you look at their pages, well... Where does the circlejerk end and the actual Javascript start?
I've been out of the corporate loop for a few years, seems it's all about build tools these days. I need to get out of this industry pronto.3 -
Alright boys.. calling in my networking friends for help..
Recently switched my ISP and got a fibre optic installed (100Mbps).
Thr ISP provided a new TP-Link router which supports 5GHz as well as 2.4GHz.
Some of my devices support 5GHz and connect to that network which works flawlessly.
However, my phone does not support 5GHz and hence, have to connect on 2.4GHz.
Somehow, the main router as well as the access point, are not functioning well for 2.4GHz. Whenever the connection is established, it would work fine for a minute or two before the networks starts disconnecting.
Restart the device Wi-Fi and it works for few moments and the cycle repeats.
I am not sure of what is causing this issue.
For the records, the access point is an old D-Link router. Why I mention this? Because funnily whenever the access point cable is plugged into the main router and I login to the router, the system logs me into the access point router (D-Link instead of TP-Link).
Can someone please help me resolve this issue?
Fun fact: The D-Link was a giveaway by one of my dR friends @Bigus-Dickus8 -

Well....this shit again
This morning or technical manager calls me in his office and says he needs to discus something
sits me down and started talking about a project he needs
A school management system says he presented some demos at the client yesterday but they didn't really like options at the table
Manager: So can you get us something really quick?
Me: Well... what's the time line?
Manager: They needed this like yesterday!
Me: Aaaah....well i think i can have something by 2moro morning
Manager: Aaah! No!.... 2moro it's too late need something like fast
Me: Ok so will look for some online solutions and open source projects
Me:.....
Opens browser, opens github, download project, runs project
project isnt looking good enough
starts designing UI
Manager:
downloads a system
installes
runs
closes
reopens
meet with a "Buy to continue using system" message
calls me
Manager: this was just a demo now it needs payment what should we do
Me: I'll come up with something by 2moro1 -

Limitation as a way to force creativity. What do you think about this?
Platforms such as Vine or Twitter limits you somehow, but people still found a way to build their creativity around and grow a following. At the same rate, most Game Jams give you a theme and sometimes some kind of limitations and the result is in almost every jam at least a few interesting games.
Now, looking specifically at dev work, some frameworks or languages limit you somehow. Lets think about Rust safety or Node single threadness.
Do you think those work as limitation to enhance creativity as well? Not necessary by design.6 -
everything is going as planned! :)
Learned Rust Lang. i loved it (that doesn't mean i am done learning na? No! never stop)
new language i could do game memory hacking in without worrying about C++ memory leaks or issues. it also compiles to assembly! another of my favorite languages!
(i use rust for game development and other stuff)
i am not leaving C / C++ though that would be harsh!,
i abandoned javascript for react and typescript.
to be honest the developer just made javascript and left us with a [object Object]
finished learning the android java api so im basically set anything i want to make i can just go on my pc, listen to music and write it out in a couple of days.
well phazor what are you going to do now?!
i will code till i am old.
i will leave my mark like a shid that made its skid in the bowl :)5 -

Well be moving on to open source technologies. You are devs and are expected to learn this on your own. Preferably on your own time
Minutes later.
Well be holding an agile workshop and also outside consultants to help the managers.
I left a few months later for multiple reasons.
I did stay for the first month and helped set up the angular project and structure. But i had to train a person who never worked with angular or anything frontend. It wasnt her fault. She was a developer and expected to learn on her own even tho she worked just backend before.1 -
I finished a coding bootcamp, but I still feel like a total beginner. I was hand held throughout the whole god damn thing! Sure, it's my fault for not studying the way I was supposed to, BUT GOD DAMN!!! I mean it's so hard not to copy code if it's right in front of you.. Oh well, a learning experience nonetheless.. Going for the Odin Project now with a different approach! Fingers crossed5

I finally got the clarity on my relationship.
Atleast I think I did.
I am officially done with Microsoft. I mean the only useful and sensible products left are Outlook and Excel.
Funnily both the products have hit their maturity stage and now MS is trying to bloat them. But still to a reasonable extent.
What other MS products are worth touching? Wait.. I legit can't think of any now.
Next on tagret, Google and Apple. Lol
Perhaps only Apple product I ever want to interact with will be (future tense) Apple Music (well because lossless and the fact that that the product is the reason for existence of the company).
NGL Steve had the right vision on Music. They tagged things right in their iTunes catalogue. But then MTV happened.
And now Spotify is the new MTV. Fuck me in ass someone.
So only Google? Well I have already sold my soul to them. What's more remaining?8 -
Well I started learning REACT FUCKING JS because of our team requirements. I'm a Vue developer and well it's a little more complicated for me because react is way harder.
Today I started a simple project to practice react. First thing I realized was that in react project we cannot edit Webpack config by just adding a config file in project root.
WTF !
In vue we could just add few lines of codes in vue.config.js and then we were good to go!
but in REACT FUCKING JS we must install another library named Carco, which is not COMPATIBLE with latest react version!!!!!
FFS WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS FRAMEWORK20 -
We checked a rather important part in our communication services because it was throwing errors from time to time.

now... Im just tired and bored of what i do. i had a very hectic year rewriting a core functionality in my company, it was full of optimizations, logic improvements and learning new things.
I took 10 days off hoping id come hating my job less. I learned kotlin and worked on a personal server side project with it during the vacation and honestly i loved it. I missed learning new languages and concepts.
so i thought, well if i enjoyed coding during the vacation then my burnout is cured right ? well once i went back to work today I felt like shit and couldn't do a thing. disgusted of the idea coding for my employer. Too tired to continue my personal project after 8 hours of my job
I guess im back to square one2 -
So... I've been looking for a week on why my machine was braking tools on every piece...
Found out yesterday, it was machining without water....
Told the engenheir (my direct boss)... Started working at midnight and was the same...
Decided to fix it, besides the fact that I'm a temp and shouldn't be doing his job...
Can't fix it... To many broken pieces....
Well a few metal pipes like straws and some rubber bands and its fixed for now...
I really can't understand why a engenheir gets 10x more money and can't bother to fix the machines....
Well I know why... He's not the one paying for new ones when these brake.
Next: other machine Is working without oil...
And no, I'm not messing with that... In a few months they will just have to buy a new one.4 -
After a year working in an office where everyone worked part time (manager 3h, other programmers 5/6h per day) and I was the only full time employee …

Ah yes, the highly technical and well-known term of "schema of computing infrastructure"
God I hate business people, so clueless
BRB going to start my own business and make real money. if these neanderthals are top investors, i can be too2 -
My two main grudges against Typescript:
1) Union types can't be passed as arguments if there is a variant for every element of the union
2) No tuple polymorphism, i.e. [T, U] isn't assignable to [T]. This is not a mistake because the length of the arrays differs and therefore they may be interpreted in a different way, but IMO there should be a tuple type which is actually an array but length is unavailable and it supports polymorphism. This sounds stupid, but since function parameter lists work well with tuples it would actually enable a lot of functional tricks that are currently inaccessible.7 -
Well this weekly rant topic comes a few weeks to soon....
Ah what the hell, my most successful dev project is hopefully this: https://codeglass.io
Why: well that is why this topic comes to soon, I can't disclose anymore than there is on the website for now, release will hopefully be this month.
It is pretty awesome. It deserves to be called next generation. -
I'm... Confused? Undecided?
I like the place where I work because of the people... Even the worst are nice (tough sooner or later I'm gonna have words with the engineer... I had no problems so far but when he gets mad his a dick).
I'm being prazed a lot... One of my bosses say that I'm a find and every time I talk about looking for other jobs everyone tries to make me change my mind.
On the down side... They pay like shit. I should be getting double at entry...
Machines have no mantainance... One is even working without oil and that brakes my hearth.
I'm still a temp... One would think the owners would be doing everything to keep me, since I can get to a lvl that others take years and I keep finding mistakes that more experience workers don't see.
Well... I'll wait and see. They can't keep me as a temp for more than a year... -
I am proud of my internet infrastructure/setup.
While it's not the best and has some room for upgrades, it's still pretty powerful and well managed.
And my house looks like an abandoned warehouse as compared to my internet setup.2 -
Friday is always such a significant day because you know what's up next? WEEKEND BABY but I am up since 4am after four hours of sleep (it's 5am now), because well life sometimes sucks like that, and the only thing keeping my brain from going gaga is work so I am working since 4am to probably 7,8pm
Fml and wish me luck8 -
Hey, I actually calculated and averaged everything, and I found out I only spend about 43.4 repeating percent of my time awake actually working.
Can you all calculate yours as well to see if I’m a lazy slob or if this is normal?8 -
What if I build a platform for programmers and they are able to give ++ on posts (like button is from Facebook era, grow up!), comment and tag each other?
It would be a plus if there was a bot of a guy that keeps creating accounts for him, like, everyday. And this guy may be called jase.
Oh well, it would be a great platform! I could call it dev++2 -
From a few days I have just been unable to make myself work and am so behind on my hours it seems overwhelming now
I don't know if it's burn out or lack of motivation or transition or what but I am just unable to comprehend anything work related.
does it happen to someone else as well? what's the cure? -
Some cost conscious companies be like: I pay you for the these 3 tasks, and after few months start giving 5 more tasks which you will do properly, then judge you for not performing well on the 3 basic tasks.2

Having a senior DBA can save hours if not days of struggle and save your back, if you do not know well enough how to do a more complicated query yet, without fucking up something.
Good guidance and experience is worth so much.
... and no I do not have the rights to drop databases.1 -
RDS Proxy is quickly becoming my least favourite AWS offering.
I ranted about it a while back because I had to abandon it for a project because it doesn’t support clusters very well (it only proxys to the primary node).
Well I tried to use it again for a different project with only a single RW instance. Surely it will be ideal?
Nope. It doesn’t support Postgres 13. Only goes up to 12.
What the hell Amazon?
pgbouncer it is I guess. -
I say, I say, I say, how many hours does it take to set up a smart light blub ?
Well, it just took me 6 hours to get 2 bulbs working with Alexa..
This involved bulb resetting without a hub, an Android tablet ( Without the correct level of OS to run the more advanced version of the Alexa APP or the smart blub app.. ), a laptop, a web interface, a wireless network, and lots of running up and down stairs..
It wasn't "easy as pie"..
It proved pointless registering with the smart bulb website, since it couldn't see the bulbs..
For a while the bulbs thought they was twins, and one would copy the other..
But one was always unresponsive when you wanted to chat to it..
After reset, which was buried in a long RPG style quest, all was kinda well. ( It now thinks there are 3 bulbs, but lets not worry about that.. )

Don't work with time, work with target, my father taught me that. It seems similar to don't stop when you are tired but when you are done!!!
Well that helped me when I started my dev career but over the years I had to be wise how I apply the rule so I don't have assholes sucking life out of me in disguise.1 -
Why the fuck are testers attending the daily, if their only contribution is "Well.. umm.. I like.. umm.. ran tests yesterday"
Well no shit monkey, I could've told you that!4 -
Well all be dead and this colossal waste of time will still continue
Would really like to settle down in a house long before I’m dead. Thanks.3 -
anyone work on no code platforms? I still get caught up in simple traps on this thing regularly even after a few years. damn there are a lot of fucking boxes to check. I’m often chasing a red herring and missing the actual issue.
whether its me thinking the bug is in the platform itself or god know whatever else it is I miss.
and I never know if I wouldve ever figured it out myself because a lot of times someone else comes in first to fix it.
oh well -
You can have the best test coverage - even building your own fuzzing framework on the way.
You can have top notch devs adhering to state of the art development processes.
You can have as big a community and as well-funded a bugbounty program as you want...
All of that doesn't matter if you have chosen the wrong language:
https://googleprojectzero.blogspot.com/...
This would just have been an out-of-bounds exception instead of a buffer overflow using an attacker-controlled payload in any memory-safe language.
Language choice matters!
Choose wisely!13 -
I am heavily disappointed by the srcset attribute and how absolutely useless it is in practice.
It's advertised as "letting the device/browser select the best image" and save bandwidth as well as mentioned in SEO optimizing / pagespeed articles all over the place.
Well it works at least if the image is fullwidth by default or you specify the sizes attribute which specifies which different sizes you want by a media condition. A media condition! As in "how big is your screen".
That is no way to save bandwidth.
I really wish that I just would realize that I just got it all wrong and made a mistake. But I just can't seem to make this work as I expected in the first place.4 -
I never went to college, the main reason was financially so I self educated myself from home, and 1 year later I had a bigger salary than the average salary in my country.. so I diploma is just a paper to me.. in fact one of my friends who went to a well recognized college in my country came to me to do him a project, he ended up impressing the professor and getting highest marks. So no CS degree has 0 affect on your job today.

How do people make well organized js backends? I've been using express for a long time for simple backends and messing about with APIs but I can't seem to organize it in a way that feels efficient enough for my standards. I'm wondering if other people with lots more experience than me have either resources or rules that help them keeps these kinda projects organized.8

Ok so, another post got me thinking…
Every browser I’ve tried sucks one way or another. Chrome, Firefox, Vivaldi etc…
Safari on my work Mac is so far the least annoying one, although it seems to have an issue with Google’s services…
On my personal computer (Linux) I use mainly Vivaldi, tho I have Firefox installed as well since apparently Vivaldi doesn’t quite support everything on the interwebs…
So, fellow ranters, what are your favoured browsers (all platforms go!) and most importantly, why?11 -
So I’m a new team lead for a group of awesome engineers. I feel like I’m too essential to this team, apparently they don’t do quite as well when I’m on holidays which worries me. I often try to explain what i know but it doesn’t seem to change the situation. I’m not getting specific feedback from anyone on how to improve my ability to disseminate information which might be because folks are intimidated/generally anxious. Does anyone here have any strategies to help others to grow and share your knowledge? Book recommendations are welcome too!2

Anyone else get frustrated by the dust that sits on top of your computer?
Fuck me but I fucking hate this dusty shit, keep cleaning the screen and the keypad but oh well, next time I open there it is - all in its glory.
And there's this fucking constant worry that shit that dust might've gotten inside the laptop and now the performance is gonna fuck up.
SO FUCKING IRRITATING AARGH3 -
I'm starting to reach the edge, the fucking company is refusing to hire more people because of "budget concerns", I am tired of doing all of the heavy lifting. Oh well it was a good run, have an interview on Friday and I'm so burned out I don't even feel like studying....wish me luck...1

GitKraken is a piece of shit, there’s no other way to word it.
I’ve been working on a branch on my own for a while committed most things I did except the very last things. Since the branch was quite old I decided to rebase onto develop to be more up to date. So for the modifications I didn’t commit I stashed them, then I started rebase, thinking it was done I poped my stash. Then I saw there were rebase conflict so I pressed cancel rebase thinking it would just revert to the state before the rebase. BUT GOOD LORD NO, YOU GOT IT ALL WRONG…
No it just deleted my stash in the process as well 🤦♂️6 -
I tried Appgyver over christmas, since it promised easy front-end (no-)coding I was looking forward to getting rudimentary frontends done faster.
Well, the first real project that I wanted to start didn't compile anymore (internal error from the service), the page told me to reload and try again.
It failed again... And again.
Fine with me, I only spent 10 minutes on the project at this point.
I then searched for the bugreporting page and found it. The sad thing is that when I wanted to open a ticket the server crashed. It didn't even return a HTTP error, just a JSON saying there is a error and a GUID.
I have to say, if a Dev decided to have holidays without new issues that's one way of getting that done.3 -
WTF I just found out I have to add slides to the slide deck for Friday’s department meeting. Event has been on the books for a month and they send a “reminder” email that’s actually a first notice for me. Well not my problem because I have PTO scheduled already. My manager is going to present on my behalf.

I have a server that's is happy being full. Well atleast that's how I think of it ... I deleted all the logs and anything I thought was taking up space the server will go from 93GB space ussd out of 120Gb. To 119GB used in least than 10 minutes... am tired I fell like just turn it off physically in the server room and going to sleep .. f%$$%k this . I have cleared logs like 10 times now4

I'm not involved in the policy management, but my office uses Google account management. I also have to free trial one of the services I use, because my account got pwned in an attack long ago.
Turns out, my office gives us 6 different emails to choose from. Two different usernames (old, from 8 years ago, and the new one) as well as three website names (.net, .com, and another website).
Literal gold for 30-day trials. -
I tried to run a migration I wrote with a an older dump from production. Turns out it had a cost of 150129966.7 and didn't finish within half an hour. Turns out I didn't understand joins in update queries as well as I thought1

WinUI looks nice and performs really well, I'm not a Windows fan but that's definitely a hidden Microsoft gem. It's a same which Microsoft was really late to the desktop development game and kept providing ugly frameworks until few years ago otherwise we could had a nice ecosystem on desktop apps on Windows as we have on macOS instead of tons of ugly and slow Electron based apps.3

Here is the question of the goddamn decade I've puzzled before and now I'm going to let someone else tell me what they think.
Is there a goddamn alternative to google maps that has landmarks and layers and roads and offline storage that works well on older phones (2014-2015 ish) that aren't goddamn iphone of mega-doom 600.00/piece !
because goddamn it maps crashes my phone !
and I'm sick of being reminded of shit people told me by researching it myself and being disappointed, anyone with a personal experience and recommemdation ??8 -
Well this is in fact just me reminiscing, instead of telling anecdote.
My first PC was a pentium two, the cpu casing being those horizontal ones, and a big bulky monitor resting on top of it; all white. A white mouse, two white speakers (you know the ones). I was perhaps just about 6 years old, and I used it the first bunch of times to play Mortal Kombat, and Sega's Moto Racer 3, and watch animated disney movies but mostly mickey mouse on VCD. I guess my habits of gaming and binge watching started way too early.1 -
Since Google is failing me...
Given a user input (string query) and a list of larger strings (like email bodies or something), what's the best way to search and rank the list of strings against the user input.
So far I have implemented levenshtein distance but it doesn't really seem to do extremely well. (Short strings rank very well against each other, whereas long strings **containing** exact matches will go lower in the list)
Should I be splitting the input and the list by word and then averaging the distances?
The only thing I have tried is removing complete non-matches from the list by not including them if the distance is equal to the length of the largest string17 -
You know when you want to log into something and your authenticator battery is flat..
No problem, just follow the online instructions about how to get it removed, except you get an error when trying that route..
Maybe we can put in another battery, since the banking ones you can just unscrew the back and pop in the new batteries..
How hard can it be..

Tinkertubes Lab [33] Destructive battery change of blizzard WOW authenticator "batt 00"
---------
Well, I found out if I wait like forever, mine does spring to life eventually..
Just long enough to log in and remove it right !
Well, just long enough to login, and repeatedly get asked to use it, before I can remove it..
Luckily in my case, the battery did last long enough to do that, but it wasn't just a one time thing !2 -
Did someone here ever got to use Station?
https://getstation.com/
Was it any good? As far as my understanding goes, the company went bankrupt and made the product open source.
But it doesn't work for some, as most of the messaging services pushed for a higher minimum browser version than the Chrome used by Station.
This sucks, but i am curious if it's worth trying to fix it at this point. Maybe find some people interested in this project as well or even make a project proposition here, on devRant, to fix it and make usable for the community.2 -
Back in the day when I was a student, I travelled for almost 3 hours by train multiple times per month... I played Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 on my laptop all the way. Surprisingly, even while wearing large headphones, I connected with many people who saw me playing a game that they loved.
RCT2 remains a brilliant game today. The OpenRCT2 project is very well maintained and I can highly recommend it if you want to play it on your modern computer. -
I rolled out a feature in one of my previous organizations. It looked awesome. I couldn’t wait to receive all the praises and appreciations but instead was bombarded with bugs and issues. Well, I tested the feature on chrome but little did I know that the users used IE and safari. This is where polyfills in javascript step in. Here I've assembled a list of some important polyfills. Do read it and let me know your opinions.

senior: it should only take 30 seconds to replace multiple display strings across our code base
well it would be nice if they'd do it then, and somehow i don't think that 30 seconds included checking your work and making sure you don't fuck up other instances of those strings (e.g. in variable names, etc)
maybe you got a clever enough regex to only hit exactly what you want :shrug:1 -
so i have this dilemma whether i would want to try and make a web app but every time i wanna start i always think that there are better apps out there than what i have in mind or it absolutely wont go well and i never end up actually make progress on one. what do i do?2

Devs to BA : heres an output for the fields that client requested logic to be changed can you test and tell me if the fields are fine
BA to Devs : client does not test with these fields so we cant as well -
Spent months writing up a model and fine tuning, trained on complex image data (all we had to work with), to work well with what it needed to do.
Only to have “subject matter experts” be like: why don’t you use PCA and K Nearest Neighbours.
The fuck do you think the baseline was written with? -
Feeling a little frustrated lately, just been a few months in this company and its all great, even my boss congratulated me the last week for deliver some well made features but i think i should be learning more and coding faster, im always giving the best i can but its never enough. (Sorry if i mispell something, english is not my native language)1

Any boot camps worth it to become market ready. Still seeking proper degree but I’d like to work during that time as well. Thoughts?3

Meta made Horizons World open to all people that have Occulus.
I don't but watching a YouTube video all I can think is that the avatars and world look like the Wii one years ago... And well no better then mobile.
So would be better if they just used the anime art like Genshin Impact or Breath of the Wild...4 -
I consider myself to be part of the first gen of web devs in the early 90s, there were no “mentors” to lean upon per se, so we had to rely on our own wits as the tech evolved. Ironically , now I serve as a “mentor” to many generations of web devs who have graduated from courses I have taught on it for almost two decades . And I feel better learning from all my mentees as well.

facebook/meta:you have to be able to do 2 leetcode mediums in 15 minutes each for our technical screening

Tomorrow I'm going to my first international travel, and it isn't just that, I'm also going to work there.
Am I nervous? A lit lot hehe
Am I ready for it? I'm not sure, even my bag isn't ready for it.
But I hope that everything will be alright and in the end of day, if nothing goes well, I'm gonna know that it is going to be a great experience -
7 monthos ago, i invested a ridiculus amount of money on crypto. The day this month i decided to buy a battery for my loved laptop, i was notified that this crypto had doubled its price. Thanks Lord My God, i said, without any work and stress, i had 100% profit, i would totally buy the battery from the new money, i converted them all in euros, and started my odyssey.
Well, the platform, need 2fa to withdraw your money. But it did not inform you, it only had a popup saying "Reming me later".
WTF means "remind me later", for me it is something optional!!!! No red colours, no messages like (try again, your transactionr requires this ) etc.
Time is the only resource that do not come back, and i feel that my profit is already less, since the hour i spent searching, and searching, and then searching the chat (which is very well hidden...) and then chatting, and then writting this rant, i could have worked for the same amount of money.....3
