I was downvoted AND told that I wasn't correct: it was missing 4 spaces and not a tab, according to the python guidelines.

I managed to accidentally clear everybody's usernames and email addresses from an SQL table once. I only recovered it because a few seconds before, I'd opened a tab with all the user data displayed as an HTML table. I quickly copied it into Excel, then a text editor (saving multiple times!), then managed to write a set of queries to paste it all back in place. If I'd refreshed the tab it would have all gone!2

Indentation = TAB. Just 1 character (N spaces = N characters = more disk space, duh!). And then each dev can chose their own TAB width (in spaces) in their IDE of choice. Beautiful.

Does this happen to anyone else? Load up the notifications tab, and after about a half a second there notifications all just disappear. I have to reload the tab to see them. This happens all the time. Android 8.

Ok, I am actually losing my mind at this bad excuse of a work place.
This guy, that I had only briefly talked to in email twice before, never met or even had a video chat, opened a ticket like this:
"Hi Alt-Tab,
I hope you enjoyed the end of last week, the weekend, and the beginning of this one! All well here. I ventured to [random place in London] for the first time on Saturday – liked it."
Now. I already can't fucking stand when colleagues that are not at all close start emails with "how was your weekend?" shit because then I have to waste another minute addressing that. But this guy took it to such another level that I literally had to read his email 3 times to believe what I just witnessed.
And of course he then went on and described the issue as folows:
"Just a quick note about the issue I have - could you let me know why the calendars are not syncing?"
Maybe if you fucking spent half of the energy of you writing a polite bullshit "hello" and instead used that to actually describe the issue I could help.

Dear @devRant, when a rant contains a link and I click it, it doesn't open in a new tab so when that happens, I have to click back on the browser which is not fun.

A customer once wanted buttons that would close the mask in an interface where the only way to close the mask was to click a default "OK" button. 🤔
So in the end we implemented a script on the customer's buttons that would send a calculated number of multiple keypresses of tab, tab, tab and finally enter on the default button. 🤑
It is still running in production and I will never ever touch it again! 😁 -

Fuck this new fad of forcing you to open a new tab when you click on a link. I already have 40+ tabs do you think I need another fucking tab just for your shitty homepage? If I wanted to do that I would just fucking use command (cntrl) click. Stop forcing me. And fuck google especially for making this a thing with google drive and switching between accounts. Stupid stupid university custom exam IDE... first thing select a few lines hit tab oops replaces code with tab character... compile is alt+C and run is alt+R (never seen that before) and you have to go save -> compile -> run.. instead of just hitting run and last but not least it syncs your code with the server so every save file takes 3-5s at which time the editor freezes

Jquery-ui: any css selector, standard date format masks (dd/mm/yyyy or mm-dd-yyyy....), Opens if the field is access using Tab key

About the ongoing battle of tabs vs spaces, there is an option in most text editors to convert tabs to spaces ( if you press tab it insert a certain number of spaces ). Use that and you will be fine.
Also if you are contributing to other projects which could be using tabs, there are plugins that will detect if the indentation is spaces or tabs and when you press tab automatically inserts spaces or tabs accordingly

I just found out, that when you rapidly scroll upwards in the tab view of chrome on android, the tabs do a flip :D4

My teacher wants us to use double spaces instead of using TAB and withdraws some points if we use tab for indenting. What do you guys think about that? It's C though.4

Hey, internet! Does chrome/FF have any plugins enabling any tab to become a monitoring dashboard? I have too many monitoring tools to keep an eye on at the same time... Opening multiple chrome windows and tiling them on the screen is one way, but tile 6 windows and the desktop gets cluttered by taskbars/arrdessbars/other stuff. Doing it all in one tab would save space.
Soo.. anyone knows the right tool for the job? TIA1 -

Chrome vs Firefox ram usage. Chrome running 1 tab (moodle) and Firefox a blank startup tab. I was genuinely surprised to see Firefox using more than 50% more compared to chrome. Both browsers are 64 bit and chrome has perhaps 10 extensions while Firefox only 5

One of those annoying moments: when you close the tab accidentally because you pressed ctrl+w in the current tab, but the active window was the other browser in your second monitor so instead you closed the wrong one... 😑... luckily there's "open last closed tab".. but still is annoying3

So we're supposed to test even the most imporbable edge cases to make sure that our software is reliable. But there is a limit. We let a marketing intern go bug hunting. We use the same component in two tabs of our SPA, but we distinguish them through some parameters. The intern found that if you switch back and forth between those two tabs super fast a couple of times, the program for some reason confuses those two tabs and swaps them. Now management has listed it as a priority. When are the customers _ever_ going to do that?!4

Found a minor bug:
- Sort by Top
- Open app, Top Week is default tab
- Switch to Day tab immediately before top week rants are loaded
Rants of Week tab are shown under Day tab
