Sober, jogging and lifting again. Working steady. Back to hiking and songwriting which I gave up on a couple years ago. Feeling more productive, happy, clear headed and calmer than I've been in two years. And the amount of attention I'm getting from the opposite sex lately has been crazy.
Joined a church, though I'm not mega into organized religion or anything. Looking for a backing pianist and vocalist to help record my songs. Back to studying math, learning Russian, and working on my game in between.
The only thing I'm not getting a lot of at the moment is sleep.

Oh I have a good one.
A dev once was added to the team -he deleted all of the whitespace from the backend code (minified) and called that optimising. We had a lot of back and forth and me reverting the things back to non minified and him back to minified on live environement. I shit you not i had to endure that shit and he kept on insisting that I'm the shitty developer because I don't know how to optimise. I'm starting to rage even thinking about it....13 -

Dropped by my old uni to visit some friends. Met an old classmate who wanted to ask me something about his Python code.
"Oh, no", I thought to myself. "I haven't touched Python in so long, I don't know if I can help, and even then I only knew how to do menial tasks in it!", thinking how to save face and my image of "programmer dropout".
5 minutes later I realized he was mistaking a dictionary for a JSON string, AND was trying to access a dictionary in a list... in a dictionary.
I quietly fixed his print statement which incited an excitement "oh wow, it works!" and quietly returned his laptop. Fun day. -

On my last project the customer gave really high reviews and asked me back as a senior engineer. First day back I meet the new PM and ask what I'll be working on.
He responds, "We have a printer that's not working..."

So I used to be on the app more frequently last year, but I started to work on a shit ton of personal/professional projects. I'm not technically back to being a regular again (probably never will be), I'm back to ask all you great devs to possibly check out a platform I'm working on. It's not 100% completed yet, but I'm at that weird 90% mark where you're almost done but you start to find other interesting things to do, so I'm forcing myself to ask people to hop on it to give me that push. It's going to have some interesting (if I say so myself) features.Definitely appreciate it! (Please don't kill me over the UI/UX, I'm primarily a backend dev...but it'll definitely improve by 100% Launch)

I took it to where I first bought it, and...
Apparently the reason why it broke was the AC adapter, as they replaced it with a new one... (the PC was still in warranty)

Gosh, it has been forever since the last time! I feel like I forgot about this platform too much, it feels good to have a place full of wonderful people to speak to, and you don't see those everywhere. I'm sorry I haven't been here much, it was mostly due to me not being able to practice programming much and thus falling back on tech stuff.
BUT - that period is now over. Maybe.
I'm gonna be more active on here, in the past recent years I've seen how bad most social medias turned out to be, with a few very special exceptions. I think devRant deserves more activity, so for better or for worse (hopefully better), I'm back!
I think my biggest problem right now is the need for a better PC, one Italians would call "a PC with the controcazzi", lol. A good one, is what I'm sayin. But would ya look at that, thr moment I start searching up for one, a friggin pandemic takes place and prices skyrocket! Ain't that fun. XD
I would probably have found an awesome PC build by now if I knew jack shit about hardware, but unfortunately I was always more into software than hardware. ^^"

I wrote a webserver few months back but I couldn't complete the docs and 2-3% implementation part as I had to switch to some other projects.
Today I'm learning what I created myself. -

Training in NodeJS for 3 years so my first contracts ask me to do Reactjs, fire me and then got hired only return to WordPress and Drupal which I havent touched since 2016.
Guess I'm back at PHP and working crazy hours fixing legacy code.
This time I think I'll master it because I lost my job last year, got sick, move back with my parents and have bills to pay.
I'm still sick but I'll keep pushing... -
everytime i get a new, slightly better hardware i think to myself "how was i living until now, and how could i ever go back", which means I'm spending more money on stuff as time progresses. I'm not complaining tho, the audio in this phone is ridiculous

So I'm back in school for a graduate program... mostly just to continue deferring loans because that seemed like a smart choice....
Anyway I'm back in school and at the end of the third class I realize I just spent the last hour teaching the class....how to hack....how did this happen?
I'm so disoriented I don't know what's going on anymore...I get to work and suddenly I'm teaching again...when did this happen?
Am I now stuck in some role as a mentor and teacher? If that's the case we are all screwed.

Any one here have a degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering? I'm thinking about going back to school, but I'm not sure it's worth the money since I live in the US. (cries in over-expensive education costs)
I do a lot infrastructure work and some super basic programming/scripting but I think I really want to get into hardware maybe zone in on either RF or take a stab at amps/effects pedals for guitar and bass.
as an aside, I'm not trying to go back to school for job or career related reasons, I just want to noodle with stuff and maybe create my own circuitry for stuff.15 -

In my internship, I was assigned for back-end development. I'm a first years student, so it's enough work for me. But I'm also making documents to be approved by other services (very frenchie) and I'm not allowed to code while these documents are not validated. And now, they are trying to make me do front-end and all the design validation process etc...

Coming back from a break and I'm fixing some minor bugs in an app I'm developing.
The simulator runs the app perfectly.
Builds to android and iOS;
Shows splash screen then nothing...
No error messages...
The worst part is I didn't change any of the code in the files that are meant to be running at this point.

Today i quit Edge and i'm back on firefox.
Why ? Edge is very good but i like to change my default browser frequently to make my own idea of their quality.
Next step I will probably go to vivaldi or come back to chrome.

Semiunusual state here. Have a branch I'm trying to merge into develop and there are a LOT of merge conflicts, some head way has been made in this merge branch..
HOWEVER
I'm wondering is there a way to "suspend" the branch/merge progress and go back to develop?9 -
