I just quit my job!
The company I worked for is a small company founded in Jan of this year and I was there since the early days but wasn't a founder nor a partner.
It was me who decided on which tech stack we should use, which languages, what servers to use, best practices and almost anything related to development. I was the lead developer and project manager for the biggest project they had.
But they decided that I don't deserve to be a partner. I was making more than 50,000 SDG per month for the company but only paid 6,000. The worst thing is that the partners don't know shit about software development. They have no vision for where should the company be in the future.
I just had enough. I already had my own software dev business before joining them, and it was successful.
I am going back to building my own company with my own vision.
I know I made the right decision, but it still hurts leaving a company after u made it what it is today. It is like your own baby and you are abandoning it.
Hopefully, it is for the best.9 -

I just found a game (have not played it yet) that I think everyone here will cream over.
It's an insanely detailed hardware/ low level/ make-your-own-computer game.
I watched the trailer and it sets you up by teaching you logic gates and basic circuitry.
Then, it eventually teaches you how to build your own computer using these gates.
Then, you start creating your own assembly language using the computer you made.
Then, you use your computer to solve problems like sending a robot through a maze or just building snake on a display.
Absolutely check it out, it's on sale for $13 USD. I just bought it. Turing Complete on Steam.

Ive just bought a domain name for my nephew of now 36 hours old. Ive a really common lastname and it took me 8 years to get a domainname with my name in it.
By the time he is ten (or how old they will be when they get their first email address) he will have his own personalized email and when they learn the basics of programming he can use his own domain for his site.8 -

That was more than a week back. But senior engineer never merged it.
Today I see that he closed my PR, deleted my branch. He created his own new branch, added my changes and some of his changes and created PR.

My favorite method is the .split() method in Java. It simplifies things so much for so many situations for me even though it would be trivial to write this method on my own, I still love this method!

Worst architecture: the stack compiler I wrote. I basically just made my own shitty webpack.
The idea was simple: Babel to minified JS, Scss to minified CSS, and HTML to minified HTML. Made in Node JS, of course. (perhaps that’s where I went wrong!)

I spent most of my morning trying to fix something. My big breakthrough was when I realized Google didn't have the answer and I was on my own (working on something not in my expertise at all). Within 30 minutes of that it was fixed and I was left with the frustration my morning was gone, embarrassment it took so long, relief it was over, and self empowerment I'd done it on my own.

Tip : it seems you can't delete a npm package, you can only unpublish it. -

Just bought Intel NUC and installed CentOS on it. Mounted NFS from my NAS. Installed docker, downloaded factorio image and started server. Now I have my own game server lol.

A few years ago and today very shameful: Griefing Minecraft servers with an own "Griefer-Class". The class was completly enclosed into a simple ArrayList ( with {{ }} ) to hide it in JD-Gui (decompiler many are using) and had a own remote client that could send own as well as server commands via kinda like a telnet connection.
