Worst meeting?
A tech review where a senior developer presented my code and slightly modified ui as his own.
Only things he changed were the button colors and title of the app. When he switched to the code, my comments were still there.
It was the worst meeting because my boss said, in all seriousness, "It looks great!" 😦6 -

Today a potential client contacted me after seeing my works and said they were really interested in having me work on their project. Then, they demanded that I scheduled a call with them, using their calendar app. I did, just to them cancel it a few hours later. Without any explanation.
Deal with people is so discouraging sometimes.2 -

Project managers suck, they don't know anything about programming and development, at least they should know the basics, it's the worst and most stupid job, and the worst thing is that they make more money than a developer.2
-

The worst thing about Java is, that it created a generation of coders, that think OOP is the opposite of FP.9
-
I'm still not over how LINQ is defined as a thin wrapper over both IQueryable (which can be efficiently queried) and IEnumerable (which can only be iterated), but IQueryable extends IEnumerable, so if you execute one unserializable operation anywhere in a query issued to your database it'll merrily pump whatever temporary collection happens to reside on the boundary through the C# program to execute that call on each row and process the rest as an IEnumerable.5
-
Billing by hourly rates is like getting paid by lines of code: the worst coders will get the highest scores.5
-
worst documentation.. OpenCV.
About half of the features I've used are not even mentioned in the documentation. The worst part is that at first look the website looks neat and well maintained but in reality it is missing a lot of usefull info. And some of it is plain jibberish.3 -
Backbone.js
Not necessarily the worst technology asit worked quite nice for the project, but rather the worst reason I have ever heard for choosing a technology: "it was popular that day" :) -
Worst part about being a developer?
Coding the apex-maximum-feelsgood-climax of your code, feeling like a genius and then your mom calls you to dinner and you feel like you've lost trillions of geniusly made ideas that could save the world from aids while eating your pasta.. yeah, that's the worst part. -
Best: working with F#, hands down the best development experience ever for me!
Worst: this is a little harder, but I’d give the questionable honor for any experience working with one of our juniors on JS... or just working with SwiftUI - mobile development hasn’t been a good experience for me by any means so far, but working with SwiftUI has been the worst of them.
// EDIT: I just remembered it was this year when I needed to do stuff with Python. EASILY the worst development experience... -
Seems no matter how much I earn I'm always fucked for money. Guess I'm shit financially, even though I live in the worst area in the worst flat5

-
Joined a new team at work hoping to learn something new. Was told by the team lead that they will be starting development on a new project that I was interested in.
Guess what it was all a fucking lie. I'm assigned a task to create documentation for some legacy java shitcode without any fucking comments.
Fine I get it, they say it's required going down the road of the new project as it will work alongside the old application. But the code is so fucking bad. For starters
-The db host and credentials are hard-coded in a million places
-it stores user credentials in plain text
-its creating files in the fucking filesystem to store things instead of storing it in the db
-each functions ranges from 100 to 8000 lines of code
Who even codes like this 🤯
And I can't fix these issues. All I need to do is document every function and class and package. Fine. Fuck this shit -
Probably one of these:
- electrician (middle or low voltage)
- unfit for employment in germany, which is the worst. -
C++ is the worst thing ever happened to the developer community.
Doesn't have a stand of its own. Always changing. -
What is your worst project you have worked on ?
Ans) my self, I have worked on CMS project called as Ellis pathway, which is my ever worst project I have worked on. It was developed on the language called omnimark, have you by any chance heard about it ?. Moreover it was used to process XML and the worst nightmare would when XML is 500mb and it is not valid after process. I have spent shit lot of hours fixing XML manually.. I literally fucked my self there. Thank God I somehow managed to quit and move on. -
So for the current project, they want to start testing the application from Monday next week and the development part section still has a few bugs that need to be handled. But that isn't the worst part. The worst part I just heard is that the designs themselves haven't even been signed off. How the fuck did we get to the point where the designs haven't been signed off where the development has been going underway for the past 2.5 months? I swear I'm working with the fucking worst project manager!
-
In the first place I dont do it that often in private projects because the estimation is always wrong.
At work i just think about best and worst case scenario and the average time it could take. If the the worst case scenario is really time intensive and there are a lot of factors that could go wrong in contrast to the best case, I significantly increase the estimated time for the task. Otherwise its 1/6 best case; 1/6 worst case; 4/6 average time2 -
I'm surprised at the lack of ranting about Tapplock. It's some of the worst dev work I have ever heard of.1

Baeldung.com has the just worst guide to Java Spring Websockets. They even mix up endpoints and show just the wrong code.2
