Similarities between this spider and me:
- We both are web developers
- We both live in same room
- We both try to find bugs everyday11 -
* Starts work with boss
* Works till night
* Decide to continue the next day
* Both leave work at the same time
* Both arrive at work next day at the same time
"Hey is the work done?"
Oh forgive me for not fucking dreaming up the work in my fucking sleep.5 -
A: "You write code? Can you fix my computer?"
M: "No, that's not how it works, bud"
A: "Why? It's both computer stuff."
M: *points to the greasy tire shop* "Let's go get your car painted there*
A: "Hell no"
M: "Why? It's both car stuff."

Today I found out my math teacher used to program in C++
I'm finally not the only programmer in school.
But she said her skills are outdated since that was a long time ago, but it's better than nothing! :D
We have alot in common. We're both bookworms, we both like to write, we're both Ravenclaw, we're both Erudite, and we both like to program.
I can safely say, I no longer despise my math teacher. I don't hate her, but I get annoyed how she's always absent right before a test.
Hopefully I can have a programming related conversation with her, assuming she didn't forget anything.15 -
What do computers and air conditioners have in common ---- They both become useless when you open windows3

Q: What do computers and air conditioners have in common??
A: They both become useless when you open windows.3 -
Does my old computer count?
2016:
Windows XP
Visual Studio 2010
1GB RAM
An old Pentium inside
I am now worried that both Raspberry pie 3 and my phone, both costing less have better specifications11 -
Stack Overflow
A valid question making a fair point.
A valid answer with references and examples.
Both downvoted13 -
Happy 0x7E2!
Fun fact:
2018 = 2 x 1009 (both prime)
8102 = 2 x 4051 (both prime)
Let we all finiah at least one side project this year!11 -
we are working for a client who wants an app compatible for both iOS and android. He asked us to send both the "apk" and "ipk" files together😂1
-
Both: Let's start over.
Me: Everything different
She: Where to start?
Me: Dunno
She: ...
5 min later
She: I created a new folder
Me: ?
She: That's at least a start, isn't it? ^^
Both: *laugh*
Me: Lemme create a rant about that6 -
"What do computers and air conditioners have in common?"
"They both become useless when you open windows." -
Oh, well, of course ...
I thoroughly enjoy that both Google apps have different bullet point styles.1 -
The division between chilling and working is absolutely gone when both happen in the same exact space.12
-
A good programmer is someone who always looks both ways before crossing a one-way street.
Yours in comment!!9 -
We are taking over an Android application source code from an external company to continue development in-house...
I present to you floateger:
(one of many crimes the previous developer has commited)15 -
My coworker and I are both novice programmers: we both know a little about several languages.
So it's really cool when we learn something new from each other. I learned how to properly open a file in Python, and he learned that "\t" is the tab character.
It's a Win-Win for both of us!2 -
For me, it was when I discovered how dynamic linking (.dll, .so) works, and why a linker is needed to run even a simple "Hello world!".5

The power of saying fuck you to apple to become a supporter when you have both android and iPhone.5
-
This morning: Two projects, neither working, both hopelessly broken (think: won't even build)
By lunch: both fixed.
A happy meal5 -
Today I wrote a mail to the company to record two weeks of illness. Now, the mail started off being about my holidays in a few weeks, but I decided to write the illness mail first. Stupid me forgot to change the subject from "holidays" to "illness"... I'm so fucked. Wish me luck!2
-
Spent the past two hours debugging why ethernet wasn't working on a newly build PC... The other end of the cable wasn't in properly1
-
I question myself sometimes.
I clicked on not one, but BOTH information bubbles, and proceeded to close them immediately. -
When you live in Rural America and both the cable and DSL suck... you buy both and combine them. Went from speedtesting at 11.5mbps/2mbps to 18mbps/3.5mbps. Also have a nice VPN setup for when I'm out and want privacy on public wifi. Winning!5
-
Myself and a fellow coworker both joined post-covid, so we've never been into the office.
Considering our voices aren't a million miles apart, we're both rather tempted to introduce ourselves as the other person when we eventually go back to the office, just to see if anyone cottons on 😁1 -
I just tried Quantum and Chrome at my school libraries computer (4GB RAM).
Seriously?
Both times I tried opening my website (only one tab) and besides Quantum not even showing my website but a white loading circle... Here are both RAM usages..20 -
So today, me, the pacifistic "linux is not THAT great"-guy, was like well let's try ubuntu 17.10 (cus in the end i want a reliable os with no to less maintenance).
So i installed it next to my loved windows.
Clicking a link seems to have an hard coded delay of about 3-5 seconds until the pages actually start loading in ff on linux, so i was like maybe it's because there is a wall between me and my router..
Went into the other room.
I have one bar WLAN strength. I stand next to my router. What the fuck.
Hmm, could be sth else, let's don't be an asshole and blame linux, let's check windows. Full wlan, full speed, all good.
So my point is proven: you want to fiddle around a bit, do some coding with serial-connected devices, want a shell that actually is usable and you like to procrastinate by doing some random maintenance? choose linux.
If you need to be productive with other things, use windows.4 -
I've written two different real time audio resampling algos (called on source and called on target) using linear interpolation, both in typescript, both work on first try and both perform great. I feel like the omniscient god of web audio processing.2
-
The reason why I don't trust php:
var_dump(0 == "0deadbeef1");
var_dump(7 == "7deadlysins");
(both return true)3 -
Both my laptops are overheating, Codeblocks keeps crashing, and I'm too emotional over the latest Samurai Jack.
-
It's annoying when you're approaching the deadline on two separate projects and the AMs for both think their project is the most important. Leave me alone and let me do my job and both projects will get done, pester me and they won't. Pretty simple concept.3
-
So I had two job interviews yesterday. Except they both got cancelled due to the snow. Luckily I got them both rescheduled to next Monday. But I wasn't happy about the weather ruining my carefully crafted plans. Work gets more toxic by the day and I want to get out of here.2
-
Build something that helps anyone on their daily lives. Both personally and professionally. I wanna help them users.
-
Enterprise software that sacrifices desktop UX for responsive html rather than best of both worlds.1

Both become useless when you open windows -
My current boss.. and CTO.. both are great & really laid back, they don't fuss about smoke breaks and are both keeping me in line so that I don't do much overtime (I am a freak for fixing stuff that gets easily consumed by the code)..
-
God gave men both a penis and a brain, but unfortunately not enough blood supply to run both at the same time.2
-
So, I've been asked to build a tool that scrape's one's Facebook friends and their friends. I (surprisingly) managed to get it done.
I don't know what to feel about this.2 -
How to Stop #war in #ukraine and #russia? Easy. Just burn a big bush of #cannabis / #weed to the atmosphere, you will see both sides are high AF.
Maybe they both will get high instead of war.
I am John Melody, I want to represent you.1 -
“Much like power drills, cats can both be the problem _and_ the solution.”
Inside joke between mates. -
"Walking on water and developing software from a specification are easy if both are frozen."
-Edward V Berard -
Fuck oauth2. Is it a framework or a specification? It fails at both. If it's a framework I want implementations that I can use. If it's a spec I want clear documentation with examples. Fails at both.6
-
I don't rant about shit often, I need to get this out of my head.
So I purchased two Linksys routers about 2 years ago, and in the span of this month both of them effectively died after power loss...
They still kinda work, but both stopped detecting internet so because it's kinda their job to do that.. they are useless at this point
The models are WRT 1900ACS and MAX-STREAM AC1750
---
Now for the tin foil hat stuff - they both had 2 year warranties, that expired a few months ago, maybe planned obsolescence?7 -
Amazon Web Services has the worst naming among clouds.
They have "Aurora" and "Athena". Both services relate to data. Both are woman's names. Both start with "A".
Amazon, what's wrong with you?11 -
It's small but still tangible.
I really like that username and password both have the same character count.1 -
I'm taking part in my first hackerthon tomorrow. Both excited and nervous... Any advice? Do's and Dont's?3

Indigogo is to retail what ICOs are to he financial industry.
- some random people think of an idea (ICO = token, IGO = magical dick cream)
- they both rely on well made but completely horse-shit marketing material
- they both spam your sites with the same repetitive ads
- they both offer discounts for getting in early (aka give us money before we have designed or built anything)
- they both make outlandish and sometimes illegal product claims (ICO = Visa is a partner, IGO = magic dick cream does magic things)
- in the end most of both options ends up giving you nothing at all and just running away with your money
- best case scenario they both deliver a product that is utterly worthless and meaningless
- everyone is hunting for that one coin or product that is a not a total scam.
I don’t hate indigogo but they certainly are shady as fuck. I’ve rolled the dice on then 4 times and got scammed on 2 of them. It’s basically a crap shoot.1 -
Hey peps! One quick question on the OS side: whats your opinion on Manjaro vs Antergos? Both seem quite wholesome on both working and casual aspects and i can't find many things a little less unbiased about them :/4

> "Fuck Drupal, anyway where was I yesterday?"
> "Right, I needed to fix this load of crap"
> "Let's see what happens when I do this"
> Computer starts to overract
> Computer (Windows) is updating while running Virtualbox while handling a cancer mutated Drupal project
> Even the mouse is lagging like there is no tomorrow
> Manage somehow to make Windows reboot and update so he'll stop do shit
Currently posting this while said Windows is doing its thing3 -
Could never decide which one is better. So i just use both randomly. What about you? Chrome or Firefox?30

Trying to merge
A conflict was found, just small changes on both files
Trying to resolve
*A hour later*
Deleted the code form both branch, merged the branches and repushed the code to the merged branch.1 -
Question - How are computers and air conditioners similar?
They are both useless when you open windows. -
Let's start a holy war:
Tab vs Enter vs both for autocomplete / suggestions.
Please justify your choice.13 -
Android fanboys are equivalent to Windows fanboys. Both use garbage software and tell others it’s the norm.17
-
What do you get when you combine a greenfield project with a brownfield project?
A stinking pile of compost.2 -
Am I blind, stupid or both or does DevRant not give you the possibility to change your password?....3
-
Brrruh "mov" only works when both registers have the same size.
Could've told me this beforehand dude.5 -
I'm not really a developer... but my Mum and Dad did both say "You are managing servers and coding? You are a geographer? Not a computer Scientist?" xundefined wrong job wk18 python digital mapping shocked who knew you can do both gis consultant servers html css1
-
Thank you @-red and @R1100 for both destroying my notification box! You both got me to 69 notifs, make of that what you will.
-
Scientists make theories and engineers make devices but computer scientists make algorithms which are both theories and devices...
-
Two identical websites. Both have identical files, settings, and contents. Both have identical style.css files.
One has H1-H6 headings that display in the "Rye" font as I've specified. The other's "Rye" font is completely AWOL. I'm just getting the site default.
But the sites are exact clones of each other?!?!?!5 -
Two reviewers two comments on the same content, both comments conflict with each other and I'm required to apply both, how exactly?2
-
Interview stories. What are your funny/bizarre /success stories both as an interviewee or interviewer?6
-
Ever notice that both Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and the OSI model for data transfer both have 7 layers?
I have a layer three problem :/ -
Which podcasts do you guys listen to? I've listened to syntax.fm and devrant podcasts and both are amazing.2

Vim got me interested in efficient text editing but Emacs made me stay. I like both and use both, but for different things. -
My devrant went Japanese suddenly, well both English and Japanese, happen to anyone else? Is it some promo?16
-
IDE: Visual Studio. Overkill of an IDE yet very very useful for everything.
Text Editor: Code and Atom. Although both of these text editors eat more resources than Sublime (especially Atom), what I love about both editors are the available packages and the monthly updates. -
What is worse code that works in debug but not in production or code that doesn't work in debug but does work in production. Both without usable stack traces.
Currently batteling both.... -
Both consumerists and anti-consumerists capitalize on your evolutional desire to be better than others.1
-
I've been finding it harder and harder to balance both project management and development.
I frequently find that I don't have enough time to manage both.
Sometimes you just wish you could be two people. -
Hey dev. Listen to religious music at too high a volume or constantly bitch and complain about how everyone else in the world is an asshole. They're both annoying but I can't take both at the same time...
-
Both Devrant swag and unixstickers arrived today.🎆🎉
*After wating 2 and half months but really worth it.*1 -
Do you hate it when a girl breaks your heart because it hurts very bad both physically and mentally.4
-
Would you get a new laptop with Intel Celeron N3450, or slightly older with Intel Core i5 4310U? I'm talking both having 256 GB SSD, 8GB RAM and only iGPU? Both for pretty much same price.9
-
But why can't you be both an outstanding engineer and a friendly-and-approachable team player? BUT WHY?!?2
-
I often get posed the option of using Go or Node, personally I think they’re both good languages and that they both have different purposes. But I was just wondering, what’s the sentiment on DevRant?9
-
Plz help ... what is the difference between software developer and software engineer? ( example of jobs for both )6
-
Cats and dogs - I interact with both in my uni and love both of them (yea well guess which one of them actually reciprocates the love).
I'm kinda having a tough time deciding which one do I keep in my Avatar.
@dfox please add an option with both of 'em fuckers3 -
I was merging using Visual Studio Code when I realised I wanted to merge neither the current nor the incoming code. I wanted it both gone. And that option does not exist!
Only accept one, the other, or both.
T'was a mildy interesting experience.4 -
visual basic dotnet
ComboBox and ListBox both have Items property, and also both are descendants from ListControls
but ListControls have no Items property
do those developers understand object oriented programming correctly?1 -
just got Java templates for an assignment. the lecturer uses both newline before "{" and tabs for indentation...
-
Quote from my new colleague: "I rather cut of <colleagues> fingers".
They both were troubleshooting a server problem. Both of them did not cause the server problem afaik.2 -
Doesn’t it bother anyone else that both HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 were both SPDY and QUIC at Google first? Yeah I know ideas have to “come from somewhere” and I guess it’s not really any different than the AT&T/Bell Labs/MIT of the past; but something doesn’t feel right.10
-
What is your perception of the minimal competency required by a fresh junior developer in both soft-/hardskills?3
-
Do you think that the FullStack title is valid? I personally think you're either on one End or the other but both Ends are too complex to be able to say you "master" both14

```
Error: Resolution method is overspecified. Specify a callback *or* return a Promise; not both.
I've been learning Flutter this month from scratch and coming from a background of both Java and Python, Dart pretty much feels like a mule to me . It's a cross between both of them...1
-
Mocha or Tape (both with supertest)? For Backend testing. Api, graphql, that shit.
What would you prefer and why?4 -
Can't decide who I hate the most... the sales guy or the project manager. Both make my job impossible!
-
There's nothing quite as sweet as seeing someone in public for the first time in years and you both decide, without saying a word, that you're both just going to move along and not do the whole smalltalk thing.
