*Admin leaves his computer unlocked*
1. Takes a desktop screenshot and flips it and sets it as background.
2. Disables right click.
3. Hides taskbar.
4. Flips the screen.
5. Connects keyboard to another computer close by with screen off.
6. Has the time of the week.
*Hopefully, there is no revenge 😁*8 -
In case anyone was wondering if Apple ever actually tests updates during review, they do. Sometimes, apparently, they also use devRant with the provided test account. Hopefully their rant/comment quality improves, but they are trying!!10
-
Finally got my new coding buddy! Gilfoyle will hopefully help me to straighten up my miserable code. Praise the dark lord 😀16
-
Gave aways some servers today.
They had 128GB RAM and 24 cores.
I am happy actually, thoose kids is going to learn stuff and hopefully they they choose IT in the future23 -
And finally its setup... Working well with four.. hopefully would convert it to 1x4 instead of 2x2....22
-
Welcome back, hopefully theres soon a rant telling us what has been going on since last time we saw you?12
-
I bought 4 of them to introduce Dev rant to my three collegues (one is for myself of course). Hopefully we can welcome them soon here.11
-
I’m a student who makes open source projects that are fairly popular and are used by several companies.
Today, I’m launching my Patreon campaign to hopefully fulfill my dreams of working on open source full-time.
Today is a good day.
https://patreon.com/kbrsh28 -
Hopefully the last part of my job hunting for now! Had a good call with the boss and heard from the recruiter that I'm the preferred candidate because we had (the boss and I) a real 'click'.
It's now between me and one other person.
Man I am nervous! Will hear it today or tomorrow!8 -
I just updated my website to be GDPR compilant. (hopefully). It was the last one.
I'm so pissed right now. I have invested tens of hours for this FUCKING SHIT. I'm not against privacy regulations - I appreciate them. But this is not the way to enforce them IMO.26 -
I'll hopefully be releasing the security/privacy blog (going to bundle both into one blog) tonight.
I'm actually nervous about this 😅
(first post will solely be an introduction/hello post)77 -
Alright, with all the horrible internet freedom and privacy threatening stuff going around I'm setting up a new tor relay, hopefully 2gb/s.
Already have one running with an average throughput of 2TB/day but another one won't hurt, would it?
Who else runs tor nodes here? :D15 -
Happy international cat day, everybody!
And a nice day to every sysadmin out there, hopefully not too catty.4 -
4 week summer vacation over. Did not code any sideprojects and opened laptop only to watch netflix on vacation (Stranger Things ❤️). My liver will be pleased that its over. Tomorrow back to work, hopefully I remember how to code again 😜9
-
Hi everyone! Progress is slow for the game development.
I'm finally (and hopefully) done character design though I have a fuckton to do for 10+ characters.
Tbh it was my first time but got the help from the art community to give me a lot of feedback!20 -
Another hackathon is over.
Didn't win this one either but I am slowly recognising my weaknesses and (hopefully) getting better.
A good night's sleep and I'm ready for the next one. :)
Beyond Hackathon 2017 @ Athens, Greece6 -
!rant
Really happy about this one! I cannot go into details yet but hopefully will write a blogpost about it when I may disclose it :)24 -
Running a huge migration on our production db.
Takes 45+15 minutes (migration+tests) on my lappy. So. I'm going to be bored and slightly worried for the next hour.
Hopefully the production servers will be faster.7 -
Because the RSS feed is still down, hereby.
The post about what I personally take for security and privacy measures is up.
Hopefully you can learn something from it or even email me some tips!3 -
*Hopefully devRant's compression of images doesn't ruin it.*
The center of the trackpad simply feels smooth because of the oil from my finger.
The keys are oily as well. Specifically the space bar and backspace.
I guess it's time to find a way to clean it. I probably can't save the trackpad lest I damage it.31 -
I got an interview tomorrow!!! It's the second one for this company and hopefully I'll be out my shitty job soon!5
-
Sad to abort a nice Minecraft session with fellow devranters in order to drive to work... Hopefully I am back before 4AM.18
-
Product name: K.I.D.
Product version: v2
Project duration: 9 months
Deployment to LIFE ETA: within next 24 hours
Tests' status: GREEN
uuhhhh soooo exciting! Hopefully this time deployment tools do not fail, like they did when releasing v1. Thanks God it still ended well.7 -
Started new job.. left Facebook.. and joined devrant.. much productive week it has been. Hopefully I will find new friends here.12
-
Sooooo my mother just put a small magnet on top of my laptop. And right on top of where the HDD is.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Hopefully no damage done since it was a weak magnet :(9 -
This fucking call is still going, and this asshat who should know how to do SIMPLE FUCKING COMMANDS LIKE MV AND CP is having a hell of a time and I'm about ready to throw my arm at him because I ok hurt like hell and hopefully knock some sense into his brain.4
-
Great news!
I was selected for the Erasmus project by my highschool! My first internship will be 35 days in a foreign country!
Can't wait to head off... hopefully it'll be a great experience :)8 -
Became an uncle to two beautiful girls the other week. But the plan to make them the future tech support of the family is already in play! Hopefully they will exceed me in about 10 years, I'm a front-end dev so it shouldn't be that hard...
-
!rant
So a few colleagues left the company leaving me as the most experienced person for our project and I hated to do all the babysitting for the new colleagues and trying to hold on against the new levels of pressure.
But I have just realized, that this is a great opportunity for me to evolve from a regukar worker to a leader.
Also this opens the door to creating my own company. I haven't felt this excited in a long time.3 -
When you think it can't get any worse you stumble across legacy what-the-actual-fuck-was-he-thinking-templates of your hopefully slowly-dying ex-coworker...7
-
I'm about to change my setup to run pihole on this new RPi Zero W. Hopefully it has enough power to handle it.16
-
I am amazed how specific everyone is being about security vulnerabilities at their employers. Hopefully no one social engineers what company you work at.2
-
Coding while drunk currently in the middle of the fucking day, hopefully I wont regret this tomorrow? Who am i kidding I'm writing brilliant code i should code drunk more often2
-
+ Death of Wix and WordPress (hopefully)
+ Abandonment of Java
- Bajillion JavaScript frameworks
- Software engineers trying to automate everything
+ Cloud blockchain AI containers that mine bitcoin with machine learning technology in high demand2 -
For all those that saw my previous post about Facebook embedding tracking metadata into photos: I just released a website for my project that allows you to obfuscate the tracking data in your browser.
https://fbmdob.watzon.tech
Hopefully this is helpful to some people :)2 -
Shit went very well - I am really happy for my future
Hopefully, the bureaucracy will be faster for me :P
Details? Not yet5 -
I've had my wallet for a good 5/6 years. I love it. It's getting old. So much so I was about to go look for a new trusty pocket friend, however, thanks to devRant it now has a new lease of life... Well, hopefully for a few more months at least. 😪4
-
Joined a flying school. Hopefully in a few years I can say goodbye to computers, bad pay, worse hours, and little respect9
-
Hopefully, i will start working as a full stack web dev. Starting from next month.
May the programming gods be with me and my code.8 -
Today I reached a point where I made an really bad looking, uneficient, unreadable function, but it works!, That's what counts right?!
Just kidding, I just couldn't fix it, hopefully the me from tomorrow will be smarter.7 -
Got an Acer 18.5" monitor.
Took me more than an hour to get correct resolution on my lubuntu.
And still looking for answer and fixing.
I know I will eventually fix it soon (hopefully).
But this kind of things shouldn't exist in this days and age :/17 -
For the coming few months, refactoring my entire life. Everything will be redone with modularity in mind. So far it seems to be working well. Once the foundations are stable, I could start focusing further on the development of my Linux distribution. Hopefully that'll be done soon.6
-
There is a possibility that I might maybe hopefully get a laptop if I help my dad with one of his own long-term projects.
If this actually happens, I don't have to run Linux of a SD card anymore :D2 -
I just made a quick throwaway business card to give with my resume during a job fair Friday at my college. Hopefully it helps me stand out a little bit more.
Sorry for the blurry photo. Took it on phone. I’m fixing spacing before I export and print9 -
Let's split joke and meme into two different categories so that we can have shitty memes under one tag and (hopefully OC) jokes in the other. Then we could filter out low effort memes and still get the occasion joke. We need jokes.3
-
!rant
I am so excited, I just got a response from Voodoo.io on publishing my mobile game. Hopefully it makes a decent amount of money!5 -
I had a job interview today and it went well, gonna hear back roughly around a week. Hopefully I did good enough.9
-
Dematerialized into the system like TRON where I'll be worshipped by the programs I wrote as their god and shape the world as I see fit :D1
-
Today I was writing Selenium tests and was struggling to find a good way to test a text editor. We did a weekly code review and my team lead rewrote the test ij 10 lines to generically handle all cases.
Hopefully I'll be a good dev someday. 😔4 -
This is exactly why I didn't want to give the client my mobile number.
It's a Sunday morning, and he's messaged me asking for me to do something today.
Hopefully by boss is sympathetic with the week I've had and lets me ignore it.1 -
We did it guys, devRant bot is now on the Slack marketplace so hopefully we will see some new faces around.
https://slack.com/apps/...3 -
!dev, very !rant
Going to Romania tomorrow and the next day will finally meet my girlfriend's parents (she's from there). More nervous than I expected to be about a (hopefully) simple thing.14 -
My parents know I systematically google every question they ask me about computer in general. Hopefully one day they'll do it too.
-
Last night by accident I put my phone on coconut paste. (don't ask.)
Although it doesn't show signs of damage, and hopefully it hasn't been damaged, my heart is still not at rest. I had enough panic for one year.
But why does this keep happening to me with tech stuff accidents? Whyyyyyyy?20 -
!rant
Ok dev's, im proposing a small movement for windows 10 mobile, if you have used windows 10 mobile personally, you will know it is actually a fantastic operating system that is super snappy and easy to develop for (No i'm not a microsoft fan boy, far from actually).
The only downfall of the OS is the app support, so im proposing devs come together and create quality apps and games for win 10 mobile.
Hopefully this can sort of persuade others into a revolution of sorts (And hopefully change microsofts mind of abandoning it), I personally will support windows 10 mobile for every game I create, within reason.14 -
I've got two new desk buddies that'll hopefully make this winter a little more bearable during finals.
I love the devRant community. Thanks for the ++'s everyone!1 -
Oh my God I fucking hate humidity
I've been without power for over 40 hours now. It's no big deal, but the fucking humidity makes it so fucking hot on my house and every fucking building.
It's about a nice and cool 70° f outside, but I'm still drenched in fucking sweat. Hopefully the power will be on soon.1 -
Just flashed a clean marshmallow kdz on my phone, finally running smooth after months of me raging at my phone. Hopefully I will start getting devRant push notifications now!2
-
The stickers arrived! Hopefully I'll be able to use them on the next MacBook Pro that Apple hopefully introduces at WWDC.2
-
That's right guys. That's the mobile version of devRant with notifications running on Mac OS X. All through the power of Arc Welder for Chrome. Hopefully we'll get the API soon so that we can get this natively.6
-
Just switched to Kotlin.. For the first like 10 minutes I was like "What is this shit?!" and then I found Java to Kotlin converter and docs. Yay! Looks like it´s not gonna be that hard to do some apps in it.. Hopefully4
-
We should get rid of loop invariants. They are cumbersome and counter-intuitive (hopefully someone gets the inside joke).1
-
finally...a nice round number of ++, hopefully they use more than an unsigned 8 bit otherwise I'm gonna overflow after this post! :P1
-
I saw Santa! Hopefully he's bringing me a bug free solution to this backend scoring algorithm I'm developing at work!3
-
Got new stickers today ☺
Hopefully I'll get the devRant stickers in the next time 🙈
Don't need all of them but I wanted the small "powered by debian" sticker... 🤯2 -
!rant
Hopefully I'm getting an early promotion this month and moving to a city I wanted to 😄
Also got a glowing review from the boss to be read by his boss.
Gonna negotiate the raise tonight. Naturally, I'm super happy, so I Thought I'd share. Wish me luck.1 -
I was in a meeting with the designer, the backend guys and a marketing person this morning. They talk about a frontender like i’m not even here.
I have a job interview this week so hopefully this will soon indeed be the case.1 -
We don't sell your personal information; hopefully, by our definition, "personal information" doesn't really mean anything. We track you on 75% of major websites and store every bit of data you generate. My takeout.google.com was 14GB large. FUCK YOU7
-
Update to: https://devrant.com/rants/1573298/
So I just had the interview. It wasn't too bad, but I caught myself stuttering and saying "uhh" way too frequently. I also kind of stumped my toe on a question about explaining a computer virus to someone.
Hopefully it'll go well in the end.4 -
Goal for my dev career future?
Start my own company that hopefully makes enough money to make me financially independent and lets me live the life I want.4 -
Hello everyone, I've returned and hopefully start ranting again.
I took a long needed break to think about a lot of shit and I'm back with a much healthier mindset and plan for myself.
Aside from the world going to hell what's new?5 -
2018 goal:
Learn to write code, and make a lot of money, and live a happy life, and hopefully my mom will love me again, and...3 -
After hours of thoroughly reading code to find the error...
What you wanted:
If (something == true)
What you had:
If (something = true)
Hopefully no one ever finds that error before me!3 -
I hate it when FOSS projects don't put a link to the repository on their website.
I don't want to search through fucking GitHub, GitLab, or BitBucket to hopefully find the official project repo.
Or search every page on the site for a god damn link.
Just put somewhere on top. -
PM: If the client says jump, hide. I'll let them know that there was a problem with the jump but it's all sorted now. Hopefully they won't ask again. I'll schedule the actual jump in for next week but if anyone asks in the meantime tell them it's done but is just undergoing final testing.
-
Update to interview that I had, it went well, I'm starting a 3 month contract 30th May, (soon after my honeymoon). When that's over we'll have a discussion and hopefully I'll be the right fit for the company.1
-
For years I've been thinking to myself I should make an app. Well, I finally stopped procrastinating and just did it.
Hopefully it will come in useful for all fellow devs when you come to choosing a project name for your next project.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...14 -
Massive cyber attack hits Europe. Hopefully everyone is patched and secure. Critical infrastructure, banks... impacted.1
-
The world's largest rubber duck is a couple hours from me at the moment, I plan to visit with all my major coding bugs and errors, hopefully his size and wonder will help me fix all the big issues my little one couldn't3
-
Anyone else feels Silicon Valley is slowly dying? :(
This season ended too soon with very little to offer. No suspense. Less humour than expected and stretched events.
Hopefully next year is better.5 -
I avoid websites that advertise with 256bit encryption and military grade stuff. This makes them kind of sketchy when they advertise this encryption that hopefully every normal website has today.1
-
So, I am building this UI library / component system for VueJS and finally finished the first "real" component: button...
I don't want to share the link yet, because I was lazy that this component is still not tested, but hopefully I will get to it...
What do you guys think?
Full image: https://imgur.com/0kRHBln3 -
I need some help from you guys. I'm in search of a cheap, little webhoster for classic and (hopefully) node projects. Is there something viable out there, I missed on my research?23
-
Finally pushed all review changes to that GitHub Pull Request of mine that had been open for months!
Hopefully it will get reviewed soon with possibly very minimal to 0 changes and then merged!!! :D1 -
Been working on some projects that will hopefully train me for work projects on my personal laptop. Ever since my reinstall there has been a crap-ton of screen tear.
Looking at BIOS today...32 MB video ram out of 8Gb...1 -
Build my own company (Already in-progress), and do something I enjoy for a living instead of working for others while hopefully having some passive income (Ex. Apps, plugins, etc) to allow me to enjoy life to the extent2
-
The more frustrated I get with a project the less my commit messages are expressive about the code changes and the more the end up reflecting my disposition. I'm sorry to all future employees who may want to know what I did but hopefully you get a laugh.5
-
Not a major progress, still a humble one, but I'm improving in Vue, now using Vuex, and hopefully I'm doing it the right way :)
https://github.com/gitpushdev/...8 -
make dumbass solution duplicating code because you can't figure out how to do it correctly
nobody corrects you on code review
later somebody on another team has their stuff broken because of you and kindly offers to hopefully fix and not break what you got out of it3 -
I think I need to cut back on coffee. Maybe yesterday's was extra poyent but don't think I got much sleep last night... And now I'm taking a sick afternoon cuz I think I just crashed...
I need to sleep now... But then tonight.... hopefully it's not going into a loop... -
Ranters in the US, do y'all want to try to organize a meetup? I'll be visiting the US in a while (hopefully, that is), so not anytime soon, but maybe we can at least form a group and discuss possible opportunities.14
-
To my friend who will (hopefully) never see this:
If everything is a "Pain in the Ass", why even bother?
Please. You used that phrase 3 times today on various subjects. I'm getting a feeling that it really isn't that hard.4 -
I'm getting caught up on my personal project because I need to generate a lot of Dynamic HTML using JS and it's just a pain. I hate adding dependencies to a project, especially personal projects with no deadlines, so tomorrow I will be writing a vanilla templating system, and hopefully that will un-funk me.3
-
My day today:
- tell everyone to fuck off and are idiots politely from 10 to 4
- tell them if they won’t fuck off now I will start looking for a job - 1 hour
- listening them apologizing me - 1 hour
- code and solve problems - 1 hour
Mondays
Hopefully I start working on Tuesday.5 -
Yaaay for Debian 10 (Buster) coming out next month. Should finally (hopefully) fix my laptop touchpad issues 🙌
Also, really looking forward to its other features aswel, newer GNOME and kernel 🙂8 -
just posted my first question on StackOverflow as a lurker, hopefully i don’t get murdered for asking a probably very simple react native question....11
-
Whoever invented the "conversation view" in email clients, hopefully they don't die of anything boring.3
-
best boss!!
Something positive for a change and hopefully the notion that you can fire your horrible boss! (i.e. get another job because you are awesome!) -
Just added a group to my user without the -a option....
Result: my user no longer belongs to the sudo group and I do not have access to the root user or sudo.
Hopefully the group I added was docker, time for some container shenanigans to escalate my privilege back.9 -
Hopefully somebody here has a good answer to wk64 because I've added YouTube videos about avoiding procrastination in my watch later list.
-
School just started. New computer teacher seems like a bitch, hopefully her skills justify her attitude.5
-
A fellow uni student shared this deal with everyone in our security course. The first place I thought of re-sharing it was here.
https://humblebundle.com/books/...
Hopefully my fellow devranters will find this a good deal.5 -
Here's my new function:
/**
* Output Debugging information and Die
*
* @return hopefully
*/
public function odd()
{
//stuff here
}
Hopefully, you don't have to ODD too much when you write code... like I have to do right now
fuck sakes1 -
Biggest interview of my entire life is coming up on Thursday. I really need this to go well - it's more than double my current salary, at a time where I'm really starting to struggle to make ends meet. There's an actual "team", and from my interactions with them over the last four interviews, I think they're cool people. It's still a little unusual, because although there's a team or cohort of seniors that I'd be joining, every senior developer is still somewhat siloed, leading their own juniors. I'd also get to be remote 75% of the time, which I think I've realized is a "must have" benefit.
I don't know if it's coincidental or just bad timing then that I've been having episodes of pretty intense vertigo and panic attacks far more frequently than normal lately - even before I had this interview lined up. I realized recently that I must have some kind of anxiety disorder. I don't know if that's from the military, or just from being fucked up via my own missteps. But I can't keep having these attacks.
Anyone who's willing to share - I don't really have anyone to ask. How do you deal with this type of thing? I went to see a shrink last year, but he just gave me pills that replaced these issues with others.10 -
Dfox should make a script to pull all the creative curses from devrant and publish a list of them.
Like search for every standard curse (fuck, shit, cunt, etc) and then print them out with the five or so words before and after it to hopefully capture most of the longer creative swears.4 -
Applied to an AI startup, offering 100 bucks if I pass their coding challenge…hopefully just an algo question and not a damn jira ticket7
-
the usual: suffer in the name of curiosity.
all jokes aside, my goal is to finish several projects and take a long-ass break from it all to fix this burnout, and maybe even find a job somewhere in there too? hopefully? stretch goals? -
I just realized I didn't make my first post a hello world post and I just threw away a bunch of potential upvotes. Hopefully it's not too late. Hello world!1

!rant
I just realised my VPS ssh private key was in my servers web root for the last 4 months. Luckily nobody found it (hopefully).2 -
I love 2:30 am support calls, especially for a system I know nearly nothing about and when I'm supposed to be 4th in line for a call.
Hopefully I made the right decision. Now let's see if I can fall back asleep.2 -
I like devrant!!
I put a link on every programmer oriented facebook group i am in!!
Hopefully some new italian ranter will join the party!5 -
Restarted a project for the 7th time in yet another different language. Hopefully I get somewhere with this one9
-
I actually like writing documentation. It gives me a break in a different pace, gives me time to refocus on what I've built and hopefully make it useful for others as well.2
-
I got a flu. My throat hurts my nose waters and im sneezing. And tomorrow they make me go to office to work 8h for $0/hour hopefully i pass on some covid to their whole office13
-
Is it good or bad that I forgot to push an critical buggfix to production just before I went home?
Hopefully I can update from home (think one of our servers has an backup of the ssh keys)3 -
Usually my home internet download speed is around 800-900 KB/s
Then I purchased Academind and codewithmosh courses then tried to download the courses but the download speed became 63-90 KB/s wow nice 👺
Maybe because of the holiday. Hopefully the download speed will be ok tonight.
(I like watching downloaded tutorial videos)3 -
I haven't seen Gary Bernhardt's presentations linked in here yet, hopefully thats because everyones already seen them - but if you haven't, prepare yourself:
https://destroyallsoftware.com/talk...1 -
Anyone who uses Visual Studio Team Services: I have created an app for managing projects, builds and work items. Hopefully it will help at least a few of you.
https://vsts.co.uk/8 -
In a twist of events, I got myself into a tight paper deadline to help a friend, about a project that I haven't even been a part of.
But, now that the paper is done, hopefully my friend has to go to the conference just to pay for his sins (mostly writing/literature sins), and hopefully I get back into my machine learning adventures!
... I'm super fuckin exhausted tho.
Yesterday I had a panic attack while walking to the grocery shop. Was fun! Always wanted to feel like dying without actually dying! Yay! 🤪 (Wasn't that serious. Don't overreact)3 -
How long y'all think it is before we get things like Spotify integrated into video games, especially sports ones where it makes the most sense.
Hopefully soon, because I'd be down.6 -
2019
growing actual hatred for apple.
worked full time for 0/hr for the last 365 days on a mobile app.
got a resin 3d printer.
2020
hopefully get an income. -
I don’t love to code. It kinda sucks, TBH. I love to make money and get closer to a hopefully early retirement. Coding is only part of how I’m getting there.4
-
Getting off the helpdesk.
Something I've yet to accomplish. Self study and side projects will hopefully get me there.1 -
Hopefully we will leave the path of shipping tons of crappy software in increasingly shorter periods of time and come back to thought out, well engineered software that actually matters. I would love that.1
-
That time the Saturday before last when I wasn’t paying full attention to which environment I was in and I accidentally deleted an entire hosting account and had to re-create it from a backup. First, only, and hopefully last time I ever do that.
-
Happy halloween!
My halloween schedule
1. Start 3 new game projects
2. Study f***ing C for the test in coming Saturday and Sunday
3. Study math for the test in coming Sunday
4. Play werewolf in codrTalk (hopefully)
5. Start my f***ing logo after a disasterous fail.2 -
Today I left a post it-note on my desk at work saying “EAGER not LAZY”. Realized that out of context that sounds weird. None of them are positive in my opinion. Hopefully only devs will notice it.3
-
Whenever I feel like searching for a freelancing job in python, I feel like I don't know anything and stop contacting the person who wants to hopefully - since there are retards who don't pay - pay for it.
Fucking impostor syndrome.2 -
In three days my team closes the book on this monolithic cluster of a project that I thought would never end! I feel like Christmas is coming. Hopefully the PM doesn’t let the business throw us into another scope-less pit like this again! 😩3
-
Junior dev here
Implementing client side search functionality using Highland.js with its streams and lazy evaluation.
Hopefully I haven't bitten off more than one can chew. Higher order streams have been known to confuse me.
On a related note, Googling "forked streams" yields interesting results.2 -
Got another phone interview tomorrow. This time with the manager of the department id be in. Tonight I finalize my more technical questions about the position and general ones about the environment of his department
Hopefully it goes well and I'm out of my current job in a couple of weeks -
I am at the point in my development process when I give away my work and let someone else do it and I stare a pictures of gorillas and question my choice not to go live among them. So hopefully I'm almost done. This is step like 9 of a 12ish step program.
-
I think our network was having a heart attack today. Had to jump in on a webinar after most people had gone home and ended up tethering to my phone to get a decent connection. Hopefully our network guys see the ticket and can fix things quickly.1
-
C++20 Modules ! I can't wait to get rid of includes and include barriers ! Still prefer Rust though, borrowing times saved my butt just this morning, hopefully we'll get them on C++ too at some point1
-
walk away from it and do something else you enjoy. Hopefully this will refresh you and the motivation will be there when you return.
-
I'm going to defend AI for a change. Hopefully when we do have fully automated trains with a AI fat controller then maybe just maybe they'll be on fucking time for once!!!1
-
Save enough from my current job to give me the buffer to go solo;
and it’s a cliche, but hopefully be making games -
Feeling smug tweaking the customer's website while doing some changes they ordered. It is SO MUCH BETTER, but they will never notice. Hopefully their customers will.
-
I accidentally added an node project with node modules into IntelliJ and its still indexing my files.. hopefully it'll get over till my next years appraisal3
-
I packed double on mate today. Hopefully I'll survive the code review today. How I love fridays...rant shut up weak body of mine fridays are actually worse than mondays oh god of caffeine let me get through this3
-
Damnit onion, this is a little on the nose. But hey, code complete is always worth reading.
https://theonion.com/hopefully-neig... -
I often stop and think that my entire professional life with (hopefully) revolve around turning 0s into 1s, or 1s into 0s.2
-
Just read a comment on LinkedIn:
"Just got a new Note 7, hopefully this one doesn't explode lol"
If this is how Android users think, I'm glad I'm not one of them.2 -
Hopefully get out to the public the two projects I have been working on currently. A local focused startup help website and a local focused fillable forms platform.
And hopefully get my first large scale software project kickstarted - A retail management system on a full Feedback Driven Development approach perhaps with the ability to integrate AI and ML later on. -
My freshly out-of-warranty laptop just started crapping out and I have an un-pushed branch on it. Of course. Hopefully repair and recovery efforts go well.
-
Wrote a new article "Kung Fu Java". Hopefully useful for beginners and entertaining for all.
https://solothought.com/tutorial/...3 -
Can anyone suggest a good TS based stack to use with electron? I'm (hopefully) looking to make an open source app3
-
Well...looks like the FCC got their way. If there wasn’t enough proof that the interests of the average citizen don’t matter to our government...there you have it. Hopefully these people get the comeuppance they so deserve.3
-
Recently helped someone with a Spark project and encountered “reactive JS” for the first and hopefully last time. Never minded using JS but happy to admit that it’s a dumpster fire design-wise…one that Spark engineers apparently decided didn’t have quite enough petrol on it.2

Some updates:
> Going to get another paper published (hopefully) once my exams end
> Got a intern, not a lot of money, ₹2L≈$2.6k per month for 2.5 months
> Will get a Mac from company for the intern(probably not new, and most likely will be taken back soon after the internship)
> Planning on entrepreneurship after getting a degree
Ohh and the rant:
1. Fucking sent me a 2 page list of links as "pre reads for internship" during my exams -- and intern will start soon after exams
2. Have missed 3 paper submission deadlines till now, hopefully will run more experiments on time this time and finally get that paper submitted (on 15th May) -
Well, I've been learning to program and hopefully I can make my drea-eh... I have no idea what to make!2
-
Productive night. Now for sleep. Two more Modules and it will be ready to send over hopefully I get it done before 4! Preferably without bugs!
-
Politely suggested the wife should take the car today to run errands and I'd take public transport to work today.
Hopefully the only regret I'll make today.2 -
I'm not there yet, but hopefully, someday, I'll be an expert in making clean, maintainable code. I want others to look at it and say, "ah, I get it" without staring at it for a long time.2
-
Fuck LG and fuck the person who invented WebOS. The shittiest tv OS I ever seen in my life. Gonna get either a chromecast 4k box or xiaomi mi tv box s, hopefully this piece of shit LG tv will atleast do the work then.1
-
Team is growing from 5 to 19 heads. Hopefully the work load per person goes down after they're up and running.
Anyone had this happen to them? Any dynamics to watch out for?7 -
In 2019, I wish to contribute to more open source projects, pick up C++ and create more projects of my own which hopefully leads to a successful startup.
-
Grinding hard passing the exams that make my life a living hell, then finally finish my 10000 side projects. Hopefully make some money of some of them. Also be very cautious about my personal well being and health as it is the most valuable thing.
-
We all have an underlying project; to either sustain this planet or leave it. Hopefully the foundation we leave behind will allow one of those to become reality when it becomes truly pressing.
-
I switched to firefox for a while, the thing is multiple times a day I try to zoom into an image or something, and it never works...
Hopefully this serves as a reminder!6 -
How do I always misspell checkout?! Needing to switch branches is the bane of my existence when I use terminal.
And yes, I did put an alias. Hopefully I'll get used to using it :) -
sadly, laundry is waiting for me. A good opportunity to think why my project got an error even though i checked it multiple times. hopefully i found a piece of solution in every clothes...
-
My current project's codebase is apparently 750 lines now, without a single penny being made on it yet. It's a megaproject that'll hopefully someday become the start of a business. But a lot remains to be done still... The upfront cost is massive. Half a year of work already went into it.5
-
well fuck me, I think I've a chance of killing my laptop...my personal 1... with water...It's unpluged now and hopefully get better after drying...no smoke, so that's good and the keyboard is supossedly water resistent... but still the linux froze...17

Well fuck...
Korora 26 finally came out and I wanted to install it on my new laptop. I'd previously put Ubuntu MATE on there, with Cinnamon kind of tacked on, but it wasn't great, mostly because it wasn't Korora.
Unfortunately, Korora (and Fedora) still have a bug in the installer where it will complain if your /boot/efi partition is not on /dev/sda, which in my case it was on my M.2 drive. However, I was able to eventually get it working.
But when I booted it up and tried to log in, it would take me back to the log in screen. I logged into a TTY, where I was reminded that when I had set up my Ubuntu install, I had chosen to encrypt the home folder.
Not knowing how to set up the eCryptFS with an existing encrypted home folder setup, I opted to wipe the drive and reinstall from scratch--I had a backup of most of my files from the Ubuntu installation. However, I lost some very important documents that I'd set up since then.
Fast forward to today where my laptop won't boot unless it is either a.) unplugged with just the battery or b.) plugged in without the battery, with a different power cable from the one I got with the computer.
Thankfully the people responded quickly after I mentioned I was having issues. Hopefully it doesn't get worse... -
Nothing like rebooting to hopefully fix a problem when you're in a coding groove. Thanks visual studio.1
-
In client terms, a “3rd party” is akin to Angelina Jolie. Despite the promise that you’ll be able to have an enlightening conversation over a nice meal and hopefully hook up afterwards ... sorry, it ain’t happenin’. You’re just gonna have to fantasize about it while you take care of business yourself.
-
I have yet another problem.
Whenever I think about starting a new project, I open console, make a directory, initialize the boilerplate things and then...
Stop. I can't move much further because I get another idea that could be branched off of that last idea. And then.. another one.
Infinite loop :/
Hopefully I will reach a stack overflow soon...1 -
Starting my first development job tomorrow so hopefully week200 I'll still be there with almost 2 years web development experience
-
They're re-working all the teams tomorrow. Hopefully i dont get put somewhere absolutely dead-end.
Wish me luck, boys.2 -
Vent-rant. Fuck Wordpress and PHP and overly limiting css frameworks in their greasy unstable fucking assholes. I find embedded and / or game-dev C++ waaaaay more fun and pleasant, and logical than this fucking pile of cuntfuckery. I think I'm gonna switch my job, hopefully there's some C/C++ companies in my area.1
-
Migrating PC's makes migrating phones look easy... even with all the bricking...
Hopefully the hardware won't fail....
So many apps (a lot of my own), projects, data, configs that need to be copied and reinstalled....
I just got the basic ones installed today and probably not even done, just can't remember them all...
Ok time for TV....2 -
developers.google.cn is now available in China! Hopefully this helps the Android app situation here1
-
Hopefully, simpler sintax.
And better documentation for every language/framework. Especially for the devs who are just starting, don't write documentation assuming everyone has been working with your framework for years!
That last one was more a rant than answering the actual question, but I needed to say it. It's been on my mind for a while 😑2 -
Not a rant:
Finally i have started to learn and made a huge progress in learning spring. Ik i maybe too late but i wanted to do that since very long...
Hopefully i will finish it off and do some projects on it.
Any suggestions/advices are welcome.3 -
C was my first thing in 10th grade, now I am in college, in touch with some Java and Python, and hopefully some more in the near future.
-
Just ordered my first Android after using the same iPhone 6 since 2013 in 9th grade of high school
Got the Galaxy S9+ on the recommendation of my friend. Hopefully it's not too difficult to get used to12 -
8 more working days and then I’m done, out of the company, no longer part of this crazy project.
Onwards and upwards (I hope).
Feels a bit weird. Hopefully not out of the frying pan into the fire2 -
Well this weekly rant topic comes a few weeks to soon....
Ah what the hell, my most successful dev project is hopefully this: https://codeglass.io
Why: well that is why this topic comes to soon, I can't disclose anymore than there is on the website for now, release will hopefully be this month.
It is pretty awesome. It deserves to be called next generation. -
Weekend ruined supporting legacy and poorly designed services coupled with poor architecture.
But "no project bandwidth" to refactor said services.
5 hours of data loss should now hopefully inspire a backlog re-shuffle. -
Goals for 2019:
-Try not to get fired for writing trash code
-Get a new job (maybe :/)
-Work on my own project that hopefully takes off -
- Finish my dev minor hopefully with a 9 average
- Have a great dev internship
- Graduate (as a software dev)
- Have a nice vacations because I finally don't have dev exams anymore
- Get a development job3 -
Corporate -> Startup -> Corporate
Well this corporate is based in France and has a better reputation so hopefully my time here will be better -
spent hours trying to fix the hfs+ partition on an old Mac that I'm using as a media server, decided to say fuck it and I'm (hopefully) gonna be booting arch from a btrfs drive soon enough and moving all my stuff there. Feels liberating.
-
I just got accepted for computer science .wow.this is going to be a good year. hopefully they let me do all my practical programming assignments in java.and hopefully a cs degree in South Africa holds up in other countries.
-

-
Built my first MVC application today. Building proof of concepts to hopefully modernize my workplace!1
-
I just keep jumping around tutorials till i am tired all over d web never completing any. Hopefully i have gathered background knowledge enough to now sit and read d official docs or pick a single blog
-
I'm cringing so hard about my posts.
What was I thinking when making them?
I'll let them live to remind myself of the pain.
Hopefully I won't post stuff that I will cringe about in the future anymore😂2 -
Holiday (Labor Day) == Personal Work/Clear ToDos Day
I think I got 10% of what I had planned to get done done... :(
I'm also planning to take a week off soon though not really going anywhere... It's supposed to be a Workation but... -
Heading to NDC Minnesota for the week. Hopefully going to get a chance to learn some cool new stuff! If anything it will be a break from work and kids, and maybe some time to actually code!
-
Take a job where you can gain some experience in product management and customer requirements, not just a late night caveman just coding.
Anything that brings me closer to understanding how to hopefully run my own business in a few years. -
Been doing some MATLAB art for my dissertation, going to slowly increase the complexity hopefully for some more interesting results!
-
!rant
So I just read that PHP v7.3 and v7.4 is actually focusing on more user friendly code.
It look long enough, Christ. Hopefully I'll be able to get hang of the syntax at some point now.5 -
What's the best ui framework for reactjs? Material-ui? What are you using at work?
I know angular now - used to hate it a lot. I have no work experience in react and vue so I'm trying to learn now react and view. Hopefully I can give you honest and detailed opinion to their differences.3 -
Anyone able to recommend the best place to get courses from for working towards an Azure dev cert (or possibly AWS) ?
I’m thinking udemy etc but only ones I’ve ever used are Linkedin Learning and Pluralsight.
I’m going to be paying for these personally so hopefully not too expensive but quality comes before price.3 -
Opened up my old notes. I wrote down something my linear programming and calculus lecturer said
"..we just calculate and calculate until we tire out.and hopefully we will get the solution." Yup. -
Just finished 15% (around 9hrs) of my JavaScript course! Hopefully I can finish it before Udemy eventually goes around and messes my account up, just like they always do for everyone else...
-
Popping a Klonopin after staying away from benzodiazepines for nearly 2 years. Hopefully I won’t relapse. I wish my mind had an on/off switch or something. Fuck insomnia!1
-
Looks like it is not possible to compile OCI8 PHP extension for PHP8 yet. Hopefully, they will add support for it very soon, I am very impatient.2
-
It's March, hopefully I'll be able to focus on one thing at a time and stop jumping between technologies.
-
1. Create informative videos on YouTube about coding and grow my audience.
2. Quit my job and get one that pays better.
3. Learn NestJS/MongoDB stack good enough to finally add a new skill on my resume, hopefully resulting in a new job. -
What should I expect from a final stage interview with a startup CEO/Co-founder? This will be the 3rd (and hopefully last) interview.4
-
I am asking here, because even stackoverflow community don't know the answer...
Does Doctrine DBAL support oci variable binding in Oracle or not? I need to know but there are no answer so far...
Hopefully, someone here knows :)1 -
Pick up work that lets me get some experience in Product Management and Client Requirements rather than just being a nocturnal cave dweller who only codes.
All to get me one step closer to knowing how to run my own business when hopefully the time comes a few years down the line. -
Obviously worst documentation is no documentation at all when having to interface with something proprietary (source code is kind of documentation). When you have to dump exported symbols and guess what could it do and how to call it. Luckily too old (and hopefully wise) for it now, sticking to opensource.
-
Have you ever looked at one of your work projects written years ago and after looking it over just deleted it because it's obsolete.... Hopefully?
-
laravel websocket server, laravel echo plugins, android app, ionic angular frontend, laravel backend... hopefully the tech stack is stable for an ordering app1
