How I solve complex problem during development.

1. I left my machine with all the thinking and start to think of another activity.

2. Start another activity I like specially a physical one like playing a game, jogging or just walking.

3. Then after I am fully involved with this activity I start to think of different scenarios of the problem I was trying to solve.

4. Eventually, different solutions came to my mind and I evaluate them one by one with respect to my problem.

5. I finalize a couple of solutions based on the evaluations.

6. Rush to my machine and start implementation to see if it work.

So I made a repo to have a template to initialize node projects.
I copied the folder to a new folder and found all commits where there but I wanted to start fresh.

Quick googling on how to just start fresh ... then I realized I might just delete the .git folder, see what happens.

I wanted to try game development a few years back, started watching unity3D tuts, but I realized quickly that I can't actually do anything, because I don't have the skills to design animation and draw ui, and it was stupid to buy components online before I knew what I'm doing.. so I left it. Was I wrong? How did you start? Is it possible to make a game on your own, or do you need a team with members who each specialize in its own area (code, design, animation, music, etc.) And if team is needed, then how do you even start learning? Alright so I’ve already made a few posts about this but this time I kinda just want a general discussion and these are some questions I have.

So when you look at a open source project or just any project that you haven’t messed with, how do you start,

How do you handle messy code,

How do you know how to navigate the project or get around the confusion on the layout of the file,

How do you make sense of how/why the project is organized the way it is,

There have been times where I’ve tried and used one of the projects but it doesn’t work when it is supposed to already be working how do you handle those moments when there’s no error messages,

and (if you’re me) how to build/run the project

These are some of the major problems I run into when I try to start and they intimidate me heavily when I start to try to contribute to a project. I know I can just adjust the documentation or spell check which I will, but I also want to fix some bugs or add sumn. But yeah these are just things that I have problems with because I’ve only really ever worked with my code and projects so this is all still new to me and I’d like to hear your thoughts

MATLAB literally has matrix in the name but the fucking array start at 1 thing fucks up every single time I try to use a matrix or array. How do you do the one thing you designed your program to do so fucking poorly. Whoever decided they were going to make arrays start a 1 for a matrix manipulation program should be hung and quartered.

So when i was playing saxophone, I realized that music and coding are just the same. When you get a new score to play you need to start over by learning how to play it. When you code and start a new project you need to start from zero. When you play the score over and over you learn from your mistakes. When you code you debug your faults when there is something wrong in your code. At the exam you need to make no faults when you play music. When you’re at the deadline. There shouldn't be no faults in your code

I had a fun experience today.
Updated my system, got plenty of unsuspecting dpkg errors. Couldn't figure out how to solve them (all relating to something python-*). Next issue was Firefox, which wouldn't even start.
Uninstall, reinstall.
And it won't even start up without immediately giving me some XML error related to... chrome? Whatever.
Start it from the terminal, mostly to see if it gives me the error in more detail. Ublock Origin does not like when Firefox gets reinstalled apparently. Spend more time than I'd like to admit getting a Firefox to start in safe mode with all extensions disabled. Apparently it's 'firefox -safe-mode' (yes I didn't try the obvious because I wasn't thinking). Uninstall all my extensions then Install them again, problem solved.

Now to solve those damn dpkg errors...
