For about the last 24 hours, there was unfortunately an issue with the algo feed where scrolling did not show more rants. This has now been fixed.

One of our background queues stopped processing for some reason which caused rants to not properly get marked as read for algo.

If you notice any other issues with this, please let me know. Thanks!

I built an infinite scroll module today that loaded in more content when you scroll down. Issue was it sent a request for every pixel you scrolled.

Needless to say, many, many, many Ajax requests were sent to the server. Oops.

One bug that I've been running into...
I'm scrolling through my feed and I double tap a post and instead of ++ it opens the post twice. You hit back, and it just goes back to the same post again.

I heard good things about Edge recently and thought that I should give it a try for a few days.

I’ve opened the same pdf file in multiple Edge windows and and tabs, each scrolled to a different page.

The middle-mouse button scrolling is broken on half of the windows and tabs. You press the button, you see the scroll mouse curser. But it doesn’t scroll.

Scrolling horizontally to an area which wasn’t visible before, the content there is extremely blurry. Scrolling vertically to different pages doesn’t fix it. Is it the pdf? No. It’s just Edge. Zoom in and out again and the blurriness is fixed for now. Until it comes back later on a random page.

Duplicate another tab and suddenly it crashes all of the tabs and windows of Edge. Now I need to open them all again and scroll to the positions that they were before…

If you think that it was just a one time issue, you are wrong. All of them happened multiple times and after Windows reboots.

CSS "scroll-behavior: smooth" implements smooth scrolling with CSS only. That's pretty awesome, even though JavaScript had a similar implementation, which has, equal to "scroll-behavior: smooth", bad browser support. I hope browsers implement it fast and it performs good.

Filter notifs so I can actually get to my mentions without scrolling through random comments and ++ notifs.

The interface for time input in outlook Web on mobile is driving me crazy!! It's not as if there was a built in control that is well supported in all modern browsers.... Right

1. You can't tap on an hour to select it
2. You can only select by scrolling
3. The scrolling is "smooth scrolling". So you have N O fucking chance to select the time slot you wanted. After too much time has passed you just give up and accept that your meeting will be at 09:57
4. In order to go up in time you constantly activate the"pull to refresh" feature of Chrome.

Just a suggestion, when scrolling down on a user's profile, their user information should scroll up too along with the 'rants/+1's/comments' tabs and then those tabs stay fixed while the user information hides. Sort of like what Twitter does

There's not much room to view the actual content with all the user information in the way. Of course once we scroll back up, it will then reveal the user info again

When I'm scrolling through my notifications, it would be nice to have them colour coded, for example, mentions could be highlighted with a slight yellow tint, and ++'s could be not highlighted at all..etc.

Why is it that after scrolling down on my profile page I can no longer properly scroll up? The view gets sort of "stuck" (sorry, no Android dev here).

I just encountered a website whos ad block game is on-point. Your typical Ad overlay, that can be removed with developer options PLUS disabling scrolling.

Scrolling using your volume keys is something I'd like, I've used it on another app (9gag) and I wish more apps had that feature (it can be enabled/disabled). Those are just my

DevRant is starting to look more like a shitty fucking combination of Pinterest/Instagram to me.

App development in 2019:

1. Open app A
2. Open completely unrelated app B.
3. Scrolling in App B changes the sound in App A. Not raising or lowering volume, mind, but full on dropping samples and warbling the sound.

It's almost impressive how fucked up that is.

Has anyone else noticed these slight imprecicions where the the background peeks out at the bottom sometimes? It is pretty hard to spot, only happens sometimes after scrolling. Or is my display resolution just too high?

Spent the last 3 days on a jQuery scrolling bug that has been in the product for 3 years. It was a 5 line fix.

I thought I'd give flutter a test, a simple list app lags on the following:
1. Scrolling the "Lazy Loaded" list
2. Tapping on a list item to change an icon color

I followed their "lesson" in creating that app

Now tell me, why should I invest time on this?

Horizontal scrolling in PowerPoint does… something to the document, not exactly sure what, but it makes it so that I don't see it anymore and if I made changes, they're usually lost. Why, Microsoft? Why do you keep doing this to me?
