I just wonder why this fucking language became this popular nowadays just performance is not a good reason to use this fucking language everywhere.

It was when I ditched React. I replaced it with raw JavaScript, with frontend being built with Gulp and Twig (just because HTML has no includes). Here are the results:
1. Previously, a production frontend build took 1.5 minutes. Build time became so fast that after I push the code, the build was done before me going to Netlify to check build status. I go there, and it’s almost always already done.
2. In a gallery with a lot of cards, with every card opening a modal, the number of listeners was reduced from N to one. With React, I needed 1000 listeners for 1000 cards. With raw JavaScript, I needed just one click listener with checking event target to handle all of the cards.
3. Page load time and time-to-interactive was reduced from seconds to milliseconds.
4. Lighthouse rating became 100 for desktop and 93 for mobile.

But there is one more thing that is way better than all of the above: cognitive complexity.

Tasks that took days now take hours. Tasks that took hours now take minutes.
Tasks that took thousands of lines now take hundreds. Tasks that took hundreds of lines now take tens.

In real business apps, it is common to build features and then realize it’s not needed and should be discarded. Business is volatile, just because the real world is volatile too. With this kind of cost reduction per feature, it became way less painful to discard them. Throwing out something you spent time and emotional resource on doesn’t feel good. But with features taking minutes to build, it became easier.

it became a bug when suddenly, the users use that feature to print documents, instead of using the app with the business rules and all, and just manually strike off the TEST words with a pen.

Developed an update to our database procedures and tested it with local copy. After a few days everything was ready. Opened our server and started the update. After a couple of rows an error occurred. Turns out our production db is older version and does not support some syntax I used. It became a bit longer day at work...

I am recently hearing about some people in some companies emotionally scarring other people by talking about loyalty to a company whenever someone is leaving them. I never had to meet such geniuses. But i never became an important employee in a firm yet.. Is it common in tech ? Atleast in India !?

I've been writing software since I was 12 (full disclosure: early code consisted of C=64 BASIC). I learned C in high school. Contributed to a MUD in my 20's. But I never got a CS degree and didn't really understand how hiring works, so I limped along doing technical support for years. Years turned into decades.

About 2 years ago, I became an embedded support person inside a development team. I got to show off my skills, and the year effectively became a live interview. Last October I finally got the title.

On the positive side, by taking the long way around I missed out on some of the insanity of the software world in the 90s/00s.

At many phases of life, i had 3 choices : the difficult one , the average one and the wrong one.

I questioned the difficult one as it was too pointless to go on with, uncomfortable to follow and stressful to practice. Some guys chose that.

I pulled myself away from the wrong one because my parents always reminded me of the implications. Some guys still chose that

I went on with the average one because it was comfortable and cozy and didn't caused any Unknown chain of reactions. A lot of guys chose that.

The results?
The guys who chose the difficult ones became the pioneers/winners

The guys who chose wrong one became addicts and shame to society

The guys who chose the average one later chose the difficult one and became pioneer/winners

I took the average choice ,and then kept on taking the average choice and is getting the unique designation : "looser"

Once LinkedIn was a professional platform, now it has became the platform where everyone congratulates what they do not understand. Worst of them all is the fucking fake fale title everyone has. And stupid one is people commenting interested to some moron's retard post.

Today I think it became apparent why we have so many data and prod issues...

No one understands SOLID design principals... Particularly Separation of Concern. No wonder all the Spring (DI) modules look like a mess of God functions that are impossible to reuse and difficult to extend...

This became a tradition when waking up DevOps. When I wrote the escalation SOP, I felt it needed to be included. I don't think anybody's noticed it yet...
