I love my Windows 10 laptop, I love my Android phone, I love working in PHP. But I would never, NEVER, think less of anyone who prefers Mac/Linux/iPhone/C#/Python/what-ever-the-fuck12 -
Love it when my mom comes in my room and says “I know it doesn’t seem like it but your dad does love you”👌👌👌😔25

Now don't get me wrong, I love the multicultural aspect of open source coding.
But for the love of everything that that is sane, please do not write the basic readme and code in English, and then write the entire documentation for the code in another language.
(Yay first rant)7 -
I LOVE WORK FROM HOME!! I love it sooooo much. You suckers think I’m actually doing work? HAHA. No honest, I’m so much more productive at home than in the office! Hahaha I love this!!!8

Not a rant, just a tought:
I was thinking, how amazing is to work at software industry, I mean, is there any other field of work where you can start without knowing little to nothing of the thing you are going to work with?
Got hired to work with a friend of mine in his uncle's company, started as a technician, providing support to clients, after that, started coding little windows applications using c#, even tought, I didn't know shit about it, time passed and we needed a mobile application, then when I realized I was already coding for Android in Java even though I didn't know nothing about it too.
It's just, you can do whatever you want if you will... It's amazing! I love doing what I do. -
May be she found a compilation error in your love letter. An uninitialised love object.
Or writing in HTML without CSS would have made things less stylish.

I have been in Netherlands for just two days and I am already in love with this country...

Does anyone else love their job? I never thought I would say this but I love Mondays and the work I do in general. I just wish I had more hours in the day.13

tl;dr - install ‘Pop!_os’ and try it out if you haven’t yet, it’s pretty damn good!
Heavy Micro$haft user here, have tried using ubuntu a bunch of times in the past and fucking regretted it every time. Ran into issues with stupid shit like the apt cache growing exponentially until the drive was full, or something like the the system python getting borked.
To be fair, I’m 120% certain my dumb-assery is what caused the problems. I’m definitely not trying to blame the OS. But my experience was shitty, even if it was at my own hands lol.
Started playing around with Pop!_os from the system76 team. And I’m seriously in freakin’ love with this OS. It’s clean, is performant, feels way less buggy or just feels more stable somehow. I know it’s based on ubuntu, but I’ve had a great time thus far using it. I’ve got ansible, docker, aws toolkit, aws cli, sam-cli, vscode, dynamodb-local, serverless, npm, brew, and working on steam now.
Everything has been a breeze and again the system feels really fast and snappy. It feels a lot like mac on the smoothness scale, but snappy like a windows box with beefy hardware specs.
I’m still just in the testing phase on a VM, but I’m seriously thinking about blowing away my windows install for Pop!_os.
(I’ll try arch someday when I’m up for some hardcore masochism)8 -
I love how different figures in tech got really different reputations.
Take Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. We all love Elon.
What did they do different? What did they do wrong?6 -
In a way, it's a bit unfair on those in other fields that we get paid so well for doing something we love.4
-
Learning mainly C# and Java in college, started coding js and python in my free time. I really do love them all!2
-
AWS I love your stuff! But please for the love of god please invest in writing better documentation!4

*Gets a call*
*Gets phone out of pocket, phone goes silent*
*Checks who called... PM*
*Calls back PM*
*No answer*
Pm comes in 2 minutes later, I asked her why she called me and said:
"Oh I didn't manage to use my badge to enter the building, I was calling you but suddenly the badge worked"

I love the first weeks after a job change. It's just like falling in love, everything seems to be perfect until you take off the pink glasses.
Have to wait until I'm assigned a burning project to have a full picture.
Actually I am in a burning project. Deadline in 2 weeks. Doing Bugfixes which do not require in-depth project knowledge, and... It's fine. All a matter of perspective. I also think that project based work suits me more than usual 15y old legacy enterprise shit. And I'm able to switch. From embedded C++ over hardware dev to fullstack .NET (I consider myself as a full-fullstack dev, able to do everything from hardware to frontend).
Topics such as IOT, medical, device engineering, machine learning. Wow.
It's my first company having >50 employees and multiple offices in multiple countries. I used to jump every 2 years from one shitty garage company to another.
Wish me good luck ✌️2 -
just discovered mailcatcher. love it! <3
can iterate over e-mail template in local environment now3 -
I am in love.
I am in love with all the guys and girls working at Microchip support.
I am the kind of user that does not really understand what he's doing/what he wants to do, so I am constantly stuck in stupid configuration errors or looking for impossible solutions, yes I am THAT kind of a user...
Here is a PWM working, a support guy spent some minutes telling me that I have to connect to the right pin.
Ok, he had to tell me twice.😳
Thank you, it may have taken me days to find out this.
They does not know, but there is a HUGE amount of decreasing dumb question incoming 😈
Please be kind with me, and don't get mad when things will get serious, I will probably bring hell in your office, I am very sorry for that...
Still, thank you for helping the dumbest learner-by-mistake that doesn't know how to recognize a mistake.
I can't write this in the ticket system, I hope someone of you use devRant! (atsame54 office, I am talking with you!)
You are my stack overflow, and the project I will develop with your help is quite the only thing left before my graduate.
I will owe you so much beers, love you guys!!! -
Love when my teacher pronounces URL's as "EARL's". Makes Programming entertaining in another way 😂3

C(++) macros will be the death of me
I sure do love working with code that was written when I was in elementary school, with all the glory of nested macros and ## to deduct type names
Love that8 -
few errors in application and boss said I'm not made for development , eventhough I love working in my field. Devastated :(7

About to quit my job.. looking for another one in a different city for my lady..

Love Squirrel Girl, the super hero with the powers of a squirrel, and a degree in computer science.4

My lovely team and I inherited a legacy app written in Angular 14.
We love it when we get fucked by Pajeets like this.
We love tons of `any`-s in the codebase.
We love unreadable code with 5 levels of nested ternary operators.
We love the lack of a README on how to actually build/start the app.
We love the outdated dependencies.
And we absolutely love it when you use a paid package that costs $1755.4 -
The Only Reason Why We Programmers Love Coffee and Not Milk is Because We Love Everything in Dark Theme 🥱6

When the support team flirts with you so maybe you will forget about the issue (that your website has 30 minutes downtimes everyday). 🤭3

Just watched Zombieland 2 in the cinema and the dumb blonde girl in the movie was so fucking sweet and adorable and NOT TO EVEN MENTION HOW HOT SHE WAS, but i fucking fell in love with her PERSONALITY, i know its an act but i also know there are people who exist with that personality, this is very weird to me because i fall in love by the looks, rarely by the behavior but i this time i love her because of her personality lol what the fuck is this
I didnt know it was possible to fall in love with someones personality like i dont even have the urge to fuck her just to love her for personality lmao
Aight im talking about this like we are exclusive but it was just a dumb but chill movie9 -
I love working as one-man army in multiple projects. Just love.
I got sick, stayed in bed for a week and now, after getting back to work, everything went to shit. And there's no one but me to fix the whole mess.
Yay.1 -
Just replaced my dead battery on my Dell XPS 13 2013 with a brand new one. One whole month I was unable to unplug without a shutdown, not to mention that I couldn't boot it easy due to the dead battery... finally... justice.3

In the past couple weeks I've switched from openbox to bspwm, and I am in love. The tiling is whatever, but I love the granular control bspwm offers for monitors, desktops, and nodes(windows). I love running extremely customizable apps like sxhkd, polybar, and picom to make it my own. Anybody else around here using bspwm?3
