I think I'll never going to get a devRant stress ball, so i made this instead with my pretty low budget (0.5$).18
-
So this happened in my computer science class
Creepy guy trying to be cheesy (to this pretty girl): "you're like a ; to my code"
Girl: "we're studying python, bimbo"
(Whole class laughed)7 -
This dev world is still so damn fucking sexist, it's driving me nuts.
"it's so cool seing a GIRL doing this stuff"
"wow you're so tech savy for a GIRL"
"you're too CUTE to be a developer"
"how does it feel to be a GIRL in dev"
Just treat us like fucking human beings for once instead of pretty, empty objects.88 -
Me: Wanna see this website I built this weekend?
Friend: Yeah, sure.
Me: I connected a bunch of APIs so you can snap a photo of yourself and get a recommended song based on your facial expression. Pretty cool, right?
Friend: *thinking* ... I think you should change the size of that button, and the colors are pretty bad, dude.
Every time I show my non-tech friends anything I get this kind of feedback :/19 -
My router is behind my bed so I have an Ethernet cable running through the house from my computer. When I'm drunk I can just follow the cable to bed. it works out pretty well.5
-
Me: Finally, thanksgiving break. I can't wait to go 127.0.0.1 and read books all week.
Friend: Wait, so you found a phone number in a book? Dude, let's call it!
Me: ...
I'd love to have a friend at school who would understand my references but that's pretty much imposible.10 -
Sometimes I think we developers are pretty arrogant.
And after 2 hours in work I recognize everyone else is so fucking stupid9 -
So we had this girl working with us as a graphic designer, she has a great sense of humor and pretty much impossible to piss her off
So April 1st is considered "a fool's day" here, on March 31 i sent an official looking email to everyone ( minus the seniors ) in our office saying how she's kinda shy about having her birthday on April 1st and everyone should wish her so she wouldn't feel awkward about it
Needless to say her actual birthday is not in April
So when she came to office on 1st, everyone started wishing her and singing Happy Birthday, she spent whole day explaining to everyone that came to wish
It was awkward as hell and pretty hilarious 😂😂10 -
Had this yesterday on my way back home from the meeting. Bumped into an old study friend who was never fond of Linux even for servers.
"so what do you use at your company?"
"oh uhm yeah uhm right.... Ehh yes ehhhh so uhm like we use like uhm Linux for the servers"
"ah, and? Works well?"
"uhm well uhm yeah ehh yeah works uhm pretty..... Pretty ehhhhhh good 😅. It appears to eh work.... Like uhm very good for servers after all..."
Hearing that coming out of his mouth....
Damn!1 -
Story time!
So me, alcoholic I am, went to a local cafe because I didn't have enough booze anymore at home. Turns out that there were quite some people that wanted to get to know me!
And most importantly, there was another sysadmin (that likely saw through my funsies with some people there that I displayed termux' apt update and apt upgrade to as "evil hacking" 😜) that actually wasn't a bluff - he pretty much interviewed me on the spot and was apparently pretty impressed by my skillset. And so am I by his - he asked some pretty techy questions that only a fellow technologist could come up with. In a local cafe of all places!!! Who would've thought?!
I'll probably be going to that cafe some more 😋18 -
So this happened to me today.
After spending the whole night coding / watching Netflix I was sitting in my chair and looking at my screen with VSCode (dark theme of course) open. It was pretty dark in my room because the only source of light was my computer screen, which was still pretty dark because of the dark theme.
So, while looking at my code I suddenly noticed that the room had gotten a bit brighter. I wondered wtf was going on.
I looked out the window and saw that the sun was rising. Then I looked at the clock:
5:30 am.
Me: 'oh, lol'14 -
It looks like we have been working on something that qualifies almost all of this (except the management wants it, so there's little funding) 😂
Haha, pretty shitty to work on something like this for the last 4-5 months.3 -
Being a sysadmin, it's pretty difficult to get around the whole development of front-end stuff.. positioning, scaling, and everything... I hate it. So many ideas but only the ability to make the back-end and if it involves electronics that as well as networking. But building a pretty UI is beyond me... I love hating on all the frameworks and Node, but in all honesty.. front-end people, I kind of envy you 😅6
-
!rant
So the guy who's pretty much in charge of this project allotted three hours yesterday for me to teach another employee how to use the tool I developed.
Within 20 minutes, the employee told me it was pretty straightforward and he didn't really have any questions. The only changes I need to make are minor clarification and organization changes to the documentation.
I feel pretty great.4 -
I hate how people think that to be a "hacker" or hacking is this special job title. lol. Hacking is just using something in a way in which it was not intended to be used.
So pretty much think ...anal sex.
There. Now many people are "hackers"6 -
Ok so don't answer the question then?
Pretty sure I'm losing braincells while reading product reviews.10 -
decided to rebuild my personal website as an emulated terminal... pretty happy with it so far.
(its open source in case anyone wants to check it out: https://github.com/alexdovzhanyn/...)9 -
It’s actually pretty neat. I constantly suffer from impostor syndrome, so I always have keep learning to keep up the facade.5

One day Bill Gates died and met god. God said "Now then, Bill, i'll show you heaven and hell and you can choose which one you want to go to. Sound good?"
"Yeah!,"replies Gates. So god takes Gates to hell first. In hell he shows him pretty maidens, beautiful landscapes and an endless supply of pop tarts. "So you like it?"he asks him. "Yeah, it's great,"Gates replies.
So god takes him to heaven. In heaven he shows him quite pretty maidens, quite beautiful landscapes and a not quite endless supply of pop tarts. "So bill have you made your choice?" "Yes, God. i want to go to hell," "OK then." And Bill Gates is whisked away to hell.
But it is not the hell he saw before. Here there are no pretty maidens, no beautiful landscapes and no pop tarts. Instead there are all the most horrible things ever. "Aaaahhhh! Where am I!"asks Gates. "In hell,"replies god. "But it's not how it was before!"cries Gates. "Aahh. That was just the demo Bill."3 -
Overheard this conversation today:
1: look at this! My shiny new iPhone can measure stuff!
2: how accurate is it?
1: not very, it is pretty buggy.
2: how did the bugs get in there?
3: it is an apple so4 -
You know guys, I haven't posted much today, so here's a screenshot of the login of an app I'm making (secret spooky stuff). I'm pretty proud of how it turned out after about 3 hours of back and forth.
What do you think?43 -
It's crazy to me how much of a misguided superiority complex some CS college kids have.
"I'd never learn Python, that's just for kids"
"Front end is so easy, it's just HTML and making things look pretty"9 -
Stackify published a fun devRant article in their blog where I highlighted some of my favorite rants: http://stackify.com/co-founder-davi...
Just to note - the rants in the article are in no particular order, it was too hard to actually order them so it's just random pretty much. I also unfortunately didn't have a full list to go trough, so I'm sure I missed a bunch of great ones. I gathered all of these pretty quickly, but they are still some of my favorites, amongst many others that are not included.3 -
GOT AN A+ FOR MY LAST PROJECT OF HIGH SCHOOL!!! SO FUCKING HAPPY!!!
(by the way, we built a search engine for this project. A pretty big and fast one too)10 -
Atom please!
Why does it have to be so slow? It's so pretty though. Mesmerizing even and I can never go back to sublime now.
The lag and crashes is killing me slowly, like a hot girlfriend that is somewhat crazy..29 -
My team has 1-on-1 check-up meetings with our boss about once a month.
My 1-on-1 today consisted solely of him saying "So I bought a new Porsche, want to see a picture?"
It was a pretty productive meeting, if I do say so myself!2 -
Installed Fedora in a partition on my old Acer laptop having never used Linux before. It's so much faster than Windows 10!
And the terminal is pretty 😍10 -
!Rant
I am in love. Her name is Valerie.
I can tell you 4k reasons why I love her.
She has turned my view 180degrees.
She is so cool. And so fast.
She is slim, pretty.
She is colorfull and has depth.
She also has huge ... things to look at
Man I got to buy the new Razer5 -
So I pretty much deleted 90% of the project I'm working on and pulled two all nighters to reimplement the features differently because it didn't feel "good enough"... fuck this neverending "I can do better" feeling 😭😭6
-
I really like my little group for this one huge exam project we have. Everyone's nice, ambitious, takes the project seriously, responsible and communicates well. Additional bonus is we're all on the same skill level so everyone's learning and nobody is dragging a huge load alone. We've had no issues so far and despite being fairly early in the project we're making good progress all around. Is this what a stress-free experience feels like? Pretty happy with the project in general and I think our app idea is pretty cool too.22
-
It's pretty good deal, if you ask me !!
Gotta buy one, so that I can be online even after I'm dead, earth gets destroyed, sun gets turned into Black hole and collision of milky way and Andromeda Galaxies.14 -
I've always just done CSS on my own by hand for every project because I thought it would improve my skills over time but now I've discovered Bulma with it's sass variables and responsiveness and things are just so pretty now, I never want to go back9
-
I am roughly 12 hours away from a deadline that seemed pretty impossible.
I finally got everything to work, it seems I'm actually going to make it.
After so many hours of frustration, despair and walking in circles, it is finally fun again :)7 -
So im getting pretty good at python, so can anyone offer me some basic projects I can attempt?
Oh and it's my birthday today! (August 4th) I'm 18!13 -
Handed in my project today on one of those circular disks with a hole in it 🤔.
It felt so nostalgic, haven't touched such a thing in many many years. The sound of the disk turning inside the computer when we run it as a test was pretty great.9 -
Dude on remote meeting: -cough- -cough- I don't really feel that bad, I'm pretty sure i'm not contagious. I might come in.
Don't be that guy people (even outside of the COVID timeline...).
Fortunately he didn't come in so no harm no foul.1 -
I don't think I've EVER wanted to hit the insert key.
"You know what would be great?"
"What?"
"If typing erased what you've already done so you can't actually edit anything"
"Sounds pretty great"9 -
So our team went out on a lunch today.
Now because we are mostly developers (talk less bullshit and code more) we were quite uncomfortable sitting next to each other without a laptop.
Yeah, it was pretty awkward.2 -
I started color-coding my bash scripts to more easily see when things start and end.
At first it was just some headers here and there, but now my terminal looks like it's shitting rainbows all over the place.
It's so pretty :36 -
The screen wasn't perfectly mounted so I unmounted it from the wall for now and rotated it. For a dev this is actually pretty cool :D16
-
So I ran grep to count the occurrences of the word "bitch" In a pretty large project of ours... eleven. ELEVEN.12
-
Just finished up my first compiler, with accurate extensible error reporting, and the syntax system is generically typed so I can reuse it. Pretty fucking pleased with myself12
-
German train notifies me 8 minutes in advance that my train is cancelled.
Yeah, so useful, thanks...
(I know off-topic but I’m pretty pissed rn)8 -
Coolest project? Well, one time I had to take a dump while I was coding so I took the computer to the toilet with me and that was pretty exciting4
-
Playing around with Atom and I'm pretty impressed with it so far. Might keep using it and see if it becomes my new favorite code editor :)19
-
I come home pretty tired after a long day of classes and work. I call my family. So this is how it goes:
7-year-old-brother: I want to make a programmable robot. How do you do that?
Me: Who told you about programming?!4 -
the dev team freaked our boss out by being overly nice and polite to him for a whole day .
Normally we're pretty laid back and tease one another, so he was pretty worried.
You know you have an awesome and tight-knit team when your boss threatens to fire all of you for being too nice and you can laugh about it.
#AwesomeBoss1 -
So Microsoft removed the transparency Aero Glass effect going from Windows 7 to 10, to make 10 more "modern", even though 7 was pretty as fuck with that transparency.
Now they're bringing it back with their wanky "acrylic" blur?
Make up your mind Microsoft6 -
I've pretty much completed my profile here on devrant... I'm just 3000 or so away from my final item
I don't even know what it is exactly.9 -
Many years ago when I changed to my second job, I had to do a lot more JavaScript work and upon Googling for a solution, that's when I came across jQuery. The idea of only having to write a few lines instead of multiple lines just to do a simple task was pretty exciting.
Plus looking through the docs and reading up about animations, I thought that was pretty cool and started playing around with it. Eventually I came to a project where I needed an interactive form and so I used jQuery to handle a lot of the UI work. My managers and the client were pretty excited about seeing how stuff can appear/disappear.6 -
This new junior dev was going pretty well, learning pretty fast and working pretty fast from when I talked to them, but I wasn't seeing his changes up on GitHub.
Me: Hey have you finished *feature X*
Junior: Oh yeah a few days ago.
Me: Why aren't your changes up on GitHub?
Junior: Sorry, my bad, im not used to pushing stuff during the development since i was used to do all of my stuff on my own
(No kidding!)
Me: ok then push them
Junior: Emmm... I don't think I should... I kinda already started working on *feature Y* so it's full of bugs...
I don't wanna be mad at them they're pretty good at their stuff, and he's got some good comments on the performance of the program. But UUGGHH 😠
Rookie mistakes I guess14 -
So apparently this is how you get kids to learn coding.
Graphics after pretty nice but coding by dragging commands takes too long...16 -
So I just completed reading this book and it was pretty awesome. Can anyone recommend me similar books? Which are not language specific but cover computer science concepts & is fun to read.10
-
Being under 1000 rep on stackoverflow is elo hell. All you get are downvotes for non-duplicate, sensible and well explained questions. I think most of SO community is pretty fucking toxic towards people trying to learn programming.11
-
I am having a pretty shitty day today, but I still wanted to recognize you for doing so well and know that you can still do anything you want to do.8
-
Interviewing a potential candidate...
Me: So, how would you rate your JavaScript knowledge?
Him: Pretty good, although I still don't really understand prototypal inheritance.
Me: Yeah, it's hard to understand something which doesn't exist.
...let the flaming begin 😈33 -
1. It pays the bills
2. It pays pretty good
3. I'm typically the best looking dude in the office, so it gives me a great ego boost2 -
So I’m installing all the updates to Xcode and OSX to get ready to make an app update. Get ready, restart for the OSX update, reboots about 3 times. Apple splash screen comes up... Alright that was a pretty fast one...and then FUCKING FRUIT FUCKERS3
-
So a Developer not using a React-native component library because it is backed by Microsoft
This is next level shit
PS:- the library is actually pretty decent23 -
QA ticket. Images are pixelated blah blah blah increase pixelation to make them pretty.
Next ticket: why is the site so slow. Need to be optimized blah blah blah8 -
Vue is pretty nice to use so far. Easier than I thought it would be.
Library wise, Vuetify is satisfying. Damn this looks pretty. Why did I not find this sooner?13 -
Got fed up with having to use the mouse/trackpad while editing code or using the terminal, so I decided to (finally) learn proper vim keybindings and tmux.
Boooooy oh boy, this certainly changes things.
I think I'm in love with tmux. Damn that piece of software is so sexy. Disabled the mouse, propped up my dotfiles and installed tmux + my conf on all machines I use. It's so useful, so fast and so pretty...
Spent some time with vimtutor too. Finally getting faster with the keybindings. Installed neovim, got some plug-ins (nerdtree, fzf etc), disabled the mouse and arrow keys, and made it pretty. It's actually pretty nice, but I'm not at the "buff gorilla who took speed and pressed 24 keys in a microsecond" typing level yet. One day though.
Also I'm using the Nord color scheme on everything. Overall pretty satisfied with the end result. Still not as productive as I was with VS Code, but I think I'll eventually surpass my previous productivity levels.
If anyone has any tips for vim/nvim or tmux, feel free to share!10 -
Anybody else feeling it after Chester Bennington's death recently? I'm nearly 30 years old, so I listened to him a lot through my teenage years. Linkin Park was practically my favorite band back then. I'm pretty bummed out man. 😔
Damn.9 -
What's your favorite IDE to use and why?
I saw a little IntelliJ hate on another rant, but so far it has been pretty useful for me, I only need 1 IDE for Java/PHP/HTML/Python/JS/SQL
Pic unrelated, just for attention and the LOL's19 -
Me: so where do I change this variable?
Ex-developer: I have no idea
Me: okayyyyy... So where did you get this codebase?
Ex-developer: I created it
Me: and you don't know how to change this variable?
Ex-developer: honestly mate, I was pretty high at the time
Me: *hangs up phone*2 -
So I just finished a prototyp for my thesis. Still need to segment the real data myself and collect some statistics stuff to write about the network, but I am pretty proud of the result considering the dataset is very small.
For now I need some god damn sleep.5 -
So this happened. Thanks for the stickers! It's pretty amazing y'all giveaway free stickers.
Keep being awesome! @dfox
I'll post some in action later. ;)4 -
Just got a basic HTML parser written in c++. Uses state machines. Should be pretty efficient considering the lack of backtracking or looking forwards. Still lacks a bunch of features, but works, so I am pretty darn stoked.
Pic attached is output, not input. I also wrote an HTML pretty-printer.18 -
In Russian we have two different word for “why”: the one asks for a purpose, the other one asks for a reason.
So you can not only distinguish between a purpose and a reason, but ask for either with just one word. Pretty efficient!7 -
Starting to do some work in the front end. I find it incredibly stupid that something like centering in CSS is so darn complicated that someone had to make an online tool for it. It's pretty awesome btw: http://howtocenterincss.com4
-
Clients are pretty interesting people, so one client had an issue with Outlook not working, issue I suspect is their internet connection, before I knew it they had formatted the machine to fix it
-
To all frontend webdevs here:
Explain to me how do you cope with all this insane clusterfuckness of frameworks, tools and js libraries.
Why is it so hard for a beginner like me to learn webdev? Android and backend are much more logical and sane. Even Node.js is pretty dope.11 -
So I taught myself basic PHP in one day today after contemplating and realizing itll help me get the job I want. And i made a practice website with it today and im pretty proud of it so far.8
-
There is a Linux based os called extern OS.....man....shit looks so pretty and its scriptable through js for deektop apps and shit. Should be pretty interesting11
-
Public feature request: If we tap at "devRant", the feed refreshes. Can we have the same thing for rants? My shitty internet at home is fast, but choppy so when I check my notifications and it doesn't load the rant, I have pretty much no idea what that notification was about.2
-
watched first two episodes of mr. robot and it seems pretty good so far. does it go like other hacker shows/movies or does it stay good?10
-
So somebody decided that instead of simply escaping apostrophes it would be best to just delete them altogether. I m pretty sure you ll understand why that s a problem.9
-
Bought flowers and right now they're right next to the laptop. The laptop is looking so pretty!
My desk is also looking scenic and shit, that if flowers were cheaper I'd make a flower crown for every robot I work with. Lol.4 -
Manager redesigned large parts of a website template that I have been working on.
now, this did not bother me one bit but I am pretty sure it has to do with the delivery of the message. She was so happy about the redesign and it really did look better. I could not find it in me heart to not comply and just be happy. Plus she always lets me come in super late :V and she really is pretty and very nice to us.
oh well.2 -
I did a presentation on a tool I wrote to around 60 people (not a lot for some I know) , but most importantly all the feedback has been positive so I'm pretty happy.5
-
FUCK OPENSSL. I LOVE IT AND HATE IT SO FUCKING MUCH. WORK FASTER AND BE LESS CONFUSING SO I CAN BRAG ABOUT MY PRETTY ENCRYPTION CODE SOONER. FUCK20
-
So management posted an article "10 signs you suck at your job" in the lunch room. It's pretty passive-aggressive; I wish I could find the link to it somewhere to post here.
Would you post the similar article "10 signs you're not management material" in there as well?8 -
So just finished my last algorithms and data structures class frequency, feeling pretty confident about the grade, today it'll be all weed, pizza and sex. Life is good :')2
-
Yay! My first bash project :D
disclaimer - my bash is not pretty. yet.
Why I created it?
I encountered several footlong scripts in a new project at work. And they had no logging. And I am in charge of making it sing again. So here it is a tiny logging framework.1 -
Well looks like my gcc compile check log pretty much matches with the LFS logs so I must be doing something right xD yay progress!2
-
My mom told me to take the spider out instead of killing it..
So i did. We had a few drinks, pretty cool guy, said he works as a web developer.4 -
Feeling so dumb right know.
I have a C# exam tomorrow (on paper) and i can't get my brain to think in code.
I can't focus, I can't concentrate. I don't remember things i normally know by heart. Is it just stress? (Everything is pretty hard atm, lots of stress, lots of problems).
What could i do? I'm pretty messed up right now...13 -
Fucking YouTube adverts on chromecast. Every time 55 seconds required to watch and THEN it starts another 55 optional seconds. I'm happy to have a remote so you can skip easy but they know you're sitting comfortable in front of your TV so they keep pushing ads. It's unethical. Torture, before I didn't mind so much, before the 55 seconds shit what was pretty rare before35
-
Hey there! New here. Just found this app and it seems pretty cool so far! Where is everyone from? I'm Janelle from NYC.17
-
That feeling when you were so happy about react-native, and was pretty sure at the beggining about the achitecture of your app and js libs you are about to use.
Im here sitting with redux, reselect and still dont know why I cant just do a REST call and format data in the container component.
Why react is so hard, or am I dumb?6 -
So Huawei got pretty much nuked by Google.
I wonder if it's going to stick because it would mean they're pretty much out of the smartphone game if I understand it right8 -
Exported my first cutscene into a video from Unreal Engine, I'm unrealistically happy :D
It's just following a course, doing pretty much the same things and it's not nearly perfect, but it's still a nice apartment display with a good amount of details so I'm still proud of myself :)2 -
I'm not a web dev but I am pretty sure it is not so easy!
TNW just lost it's respect from me for this click bait!3 -
Worked on PDF creation in PHP all day. Was really intrigued because I never did that before and learned some new stuff. Nevertheless it's pretty annoying and repetitive to build files in this format. So in the end of the day I can't say if I was productive.2
-
I should be working. I am so far behind with both homework and my game.
*Does nothing but watch youtube videos all day*
I'm lazy. I barely work on my game anymore and procrastinate with all of my HW. Pretty sure Youtube has my soul.3 -
Very much! My internship during school turned into a full-time job over the summer! I don’t make crazy money, but I LOVE the work and cost of living in my area is pretty low compared to the rest of the country. So, I’m great! 😁😁2
-
I'm in a Cafe and listening to two people, who I'm pretty sure are recruiters, generalizing so hard on what it takes to get a job. It's taking every inch of me to not shout, CITATION NEEDED3
-
So I found these stack overflow questions and thought they were particularly humorous.
https://stackoverflow.com/questions...
https://stackoverflow.com/questions...
The answers were pretty good. But I wanted to actually "break out of an if statement" like the ops asked for. So I created these monstrosities:6 -
I have probably the BEST DDOS DETECTION WORLDWIDE! It detects any DoS or DDoS at my private Network.
How it works?
Everytime I get attacked(so pretty often) my phone rings. But if I answer the phone there's only a "Beep Beep Beep". Shortly afterwards my connection shuts down 😂😂6 -
Manager:
Hey this client sent us a list with all of their employees in this format... we would tell them to input it themselves but they're a pretty big client, so could you do it?
Me: Sure
*3 hours later*
... why am I taking so long...?
I look back at my code, and see that I've done a whole framework to input data into our system, which accepts not only the client's format but it's actually pretty abstract and extensible for any format you'd like, all with a thorough documentation.
*FACEPALM*
Why can I do this with menial jobs and not for our main code?3 -
So was just reading this article about Chinese people becoming more lonely and it mentioned Xiao Ice which is pretty much like Google's... What's her name?
It said how people can talk to it like an actual person so I gave it a try... Well it's just as dumb as the others...
https://ozy.com/fast-forward/...4 -
After two months of working on the new version I've finally decided to compile everything. I must say I was pretty confident that everything would compile pretty well.
I've never been so wrong in my life xD6 -
"Payment with card is only available at 5 euro or more"
OH IS THAT SO? WEIRD, I PAID LIKE 50 FUCKEN CENTS ABOUT 3 MINUTES AGO WITH MY DAMN CARD. ASSFUCKERY OF YOUR PRETTY FUCKEN ASS IS AVAILABLE ANY TIME BTW YOU MORON!2 -
One of the perks of directly working with the CEO is that sometimes he goes on business trips so you pretty much catch up on medium articles all day lol2
-
Why does the 'save image' feature in 'DevRant' Android App take so long? I mean it's just saving the image from ram to storage right.... also the image sizes are pretty small.
Okay just noticed they aren't getting saved anywhere...😅13 -
Writing a new tool, and it's looking pretty slick so far.
This is much better than meetings upon meetings. Maybe I should ask for a demotion so I can be writing code more often?6 -
So, I was buying a new WiFi connection, had some doubts about the speed, visited the Regional Office Incharge for a demo... Asked him the speed... Dude didn't know the difference between MBps and Mbps... Pretty much gave up on the service provider.
How the fuck people hire such dumb fucks.2 -
I finally managed to make my first actual c program.
It's pretty lame but it's atleast something. It tells you what Linux distrobution youre on and that's pretty much it.
Here is it if you would for any reason be interested
https://github.com/Hampusm/...
And btw. C is so fucking hard. 😠13 -
I had a dream that I was on my first day at a startup and it was all going pretty well, was pretty happy ... So I asked for the code and it was php and had to use windows...
How can a dream become a nightmare so quickly?3 -
So, I just swatted a huge bug out of the air using my work iPad. Because it was the closest thing handy. I'm pretty sure that's not why they bought me the thing...2
-
When you realize devRant's SEO is pretty decent and you were getting doxxed from your old account so you change your name to fullstackclown 🤡
(tried to include the emoji in it but once again devRant is too smart for me)8 -
So after a pretty packed day of family time, DIY, play dates and parenting, I managed to squeeze in a couple of hours of game dev... now to get up in 6 hours to go to work.1
-
https://reddit.com/r/programming/...
"I didn't get paid so I open-sourced my client's project". What do you think about this approach, folks? Pretty neat to me, plus people get good free stuffs! Unless the client finds out about the cod- Who am I kidding? They're client!9 -
So I've gotten a new second favourite piece of software. It's called Synergy and it makes it possible to use two or more different computers like multiple screens.
It's pretty amazing. Here's me playing a stage of Touhou on hard with it!
https://youtube.com/watch/...1 -
A personal AI assistant. Something like Jarvis from Iron Man.
Learned pretty quickly that it is very close to impossible without the resources of the largest corporation in the world. So I've given up.11 -
I'm pretty sure some users only browse StackOverflow looking for questions to flag as "Not Constructive" or "Opinion Based". Some of the best programming discussions I've read have been in the answers and comments to closed questions, so get over it, happiness haters! Sometimes I want to hear people's opinions.3

Busy playing with HTML5's history api and content replacing. Got the timing on css animations perfectly so the transitions between pages are smooth as butter. Dont even notice the pages changing aside from the url. Shits pretty cool1

Once when I attended Global Game Jam, I worked on a game pretty much 36 hours straight, excluding some lunch breaks. Didn't sleep for 46 hours.
Gotta say, was a pretty weird feeling to wake up to tuesday when I went to sleep like 4 AM on monday. I slept over 20 hours. I remember waking up at one point and thinking that I'm still tired, so I'll just go back to sleep.
That was the one time when I truly 'slept a day away'. -
Me: This software is so expensive!! I don’t have that kind of money!
Friend: Yeah I know, and it’s pretty much impossible to pirate! *awkward laugh* Not that I would know...
😂1 -
Why didn't i use 2880x1620 resolution on my zenbook before?
Jesus it feels that i got so much more space and and it's pretty awesome
tmux + i3wm feels even more awesome4 -
Well, i solved a pretty hard problem I had today with Firebase and a pretty tricky data model, so I guess I am pretty excited to have solved that problem right now!

So 10 phonecalls en 6 emails later i’m pretty much done with jobhunting for today i think. Omg, what an insane day this was!3
-
So was freelancing for a guy and I know him pretty well or so I thought. 10K bump but salary is probably still below market for the skills I have... Most likely reason? Trump tax cuts...
I can't showcase my skills in interviews assuming I get any... Not motivated in cramming or studying those useless algorithm questions that have little correlation to actual work.
Whatever.... job pays the bills pretty well... Sorta boring as I'm like the biggest fish on the whole team but that's also the upside I guess... May not be true but I think I'm pretty hard to fire...
So now it's sorta 20% work 80% life... So guess I'm done exploring and just gonna exploit...
P.S I wore this while taking a break from solo karaoking.... (Thursday night)10 -
For me I was so amazed by the fact I could control computers it was pretty much a morning til night thing every day for a month (which happened to be my study leave for exams I didn't want to revise for but hey! I landed a job in dev so
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )1 -

For the first time, I solved a pretty serious optimisation problem in our codebase without any external input. It's a little thing, but small victories like this are part of what makes the job so much fun for me.
Currently rewarding myself with coffee and chocolate. I feel good! -
Aye i made a 'game' to test out a library i made and it is moderately fun so i made an app from it. Here if anyone cares to try it.

This is another high school story. mostly because i’m in high school.
like most schools we have horrible forced passwords. Our school recently purchased microsoft 365. which means we all use outlook for our emails. the logins for our district follow the sand format.
s + first five of last name (x’s for missing letters) + first letter of your first name + the last three of your student id.
so for example Sean Peterson 456705 would be speters705. since we have outlook we can look up a persons name and get their email which gives you the last three of their password. All passwords start with a 4 and most are followed by a five so you pretty much can get 5 out of the 6 numbers in their password.
so to mess with my friends i signed into all of their accounts and messed with their emails so they thought they were getting random emails. and then i made word documents on all of their accounts and just pretty much messed with all of their school stuff.
so that’s my “hacking” story. my district doesn’t allow you to change your password so i’m pretty much stuck. pls help.4 -
I was at work today, coding and such. A girl walked in, so pretty and smart looking, beautiful eyes and all.. and asked if she can use my computer for a moment. That's it. C'mon what did you expect! We code!5

Been in the zone for a while..emm a long while...a pretty long while.
Need human interaction. So, umm Hiiii !!!2 -
Pretty sure my laptop's battery is dead...
Works fine when plugged in but dies without power cord...
Rip 70€....
So much beer wasted
At least I'm getting a higher capacity one, and the previous one lasted 3,5 years, so that's not too bad...2 -
So.. There is this meeting today that 70% is gonna be nontechnical bullshit and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be there thinking about anything but focusing on it....2

when you are so used to Unreal Engine crashing while trying to debug your code that you're actually suprised when it doesn't x'D
ya I'm pretty sure I'm not debugging it in the most efficient way, but oh well. Progress I guess. -
The Elixium blockchain project is coming along pretty well! We worked on it pretty hard for a few months but then I had to take some time off to deal with life stuff, but now I'm able to work on it again and I can honestly say I've really missed it.
I'd love some more open source contributors (after all, that's what decentralized software is all about), so if you're interested, *every little commit helps*.
Here's the GitHub repo: https://github.com/elixiumnetwork/...8 -
So we started using Jenkins at work. Which is pretty cool so i wanted to watch some YouTube videos about it in my spare time.
But 99% of those videos are made by Indians and they are probably good videos but i just can't handle the accent. =/9 -
Hey, uh, fuck reviving legacy projects. Intern here looking at the shit I have to do and pretty much everything's deprecated by now so yeah fuck that I guess.5
-
Anyone else here love staring at the commit train railways? It's pretty 😍
pic related: not so complicated as we are a team of two working on different branches.3 -
Pretty sure that the code doesn't work on the first run, so I thought why not debug it now? but then when am I actually gonna run it...

Started working with the Fish Shell, liked it pretty much until I had to write a shell script!! Things are so different from bash/zsh. Now i need to learn how you do things in fish.
Fuck you Fish!!:/7 -
So I tried IntelliJ. Interesting UI...but it’s bullshit that I have to pay for a subscription to integrate with Application servers. No thanks, I will stick with Eclipse. It’s free and in my opinion easier to use. IntelliJ is pretty, that’s for sure...but the value sucks.5

My dad was using notepad to edit some HTML for his website. I downloaded Visual Studio Code and he likes it SO MUCH MORE. (I wonder why....).
Kinda happy I could help him with it. He is pretty good at coding but just hasn't done it in a while (not his trade) so he doesn't know all the new tools and such.3 -
He got me. I'm so done for...
Pretty funny, cause maybe half a year ago there was an attack against my email, but I'm pretty sure he got stopped because of the 2FA. Not to mention that I immediately changed it for a password x times stronger than whay I had before 🤷♂️13 -
So.. I'm doing this 2 week long internship at a pretty big corporation that was looking for high school students for a security training program, and they're having us utilize Splunk (which I've heard about, but never used). Any opinions and/or tips on this tool? :)1

Spent 2 days on a client's site to do an install of our equipment on a huge project. Pretty rare for our company to install themselves.
And holy shit, I'm so glad this isn't my everyday work -
My C adventure is going horribly. So I stopped. I took a second to breathe then looked at my current resources decided to use the 2 books i have as references to learn from as well, then found a reasonably long YouTube guide so I can have someone verbally explain something, and I have a friend and a few places I can now ask questions if I need it. So yeah I'm pretty confident now.rant c is a neutral entity in my life why did i choose this profession c why did i agree to this learning c7

I'm in hospital now and pretty much can't walk to toilet so nurses gave me this thing that you can relieve yourself in. Guess how they call it. A DUCK. ARE YOU SERIOUS? I'M NOT GOING TO TALK TO THAT THING.4

Convinced someone to start using ubuntu. Now we spent 25 mins getting mySQL and workbench to work. He was getting pretty frustrated, but then we got it working and he was so happy about it.
Now he knows.

Im bad at estimates so I created a Formula to calculate it:
Number of identities in database * 2 * pi / amount of free coffee in liters * expected uichanges from customer / (7 /rainy days in the week)
It is pretty rough but it gets the job done most of the time2 -
I don't think this question is formal enough to ask on SO. So I'll just ask it on here.
I'm pretty sure I've committed several development felonies in this code, but is there an easier way to manage multiple textviews that are similar to each other in this code? https://github.com/BaconatorNoVeg/... -
OH MY GOD REFACTORING FEELS SO AWESOME
I just finished spent 4 weeks of crazy busy summer camps and I get back to a project I was working on.
Refactoring.gif
It feels so awesome to just effortlessly move stuff into methods and have it work pretty much first time.
To be fair I’m the only one working on this right now so I pretty much already knew the code but still holy cow it’s so much simpler now.
Moral of the story: Appreciate your time off and use it to unwind and let your mind wander to more creative heights before taking advantage of it after and only after you get back to the project1 -
Worst documentation was a document made for a client's api that wasn't updated, they had to send us pretty much everything by mail so we could integrate it
-
Started working as a "working student" in an it company to write unit tests. (which then will be executed automatically - so automated unit tests)
Realised that I write more or less the same code just changing the names and some parameters (sometimes more if it's not an number but a bool for example but it's pretty much the same scheme)
So I bought a tool for 1$ to use "auto complete" on custom templates.(I type testgetbool and the tool replaces this to the test case only asking for the variable name.)
So now I'm writing automated automated tests 😁😅
(which is btw pretty boring but cost & time effective)2 -

Don't you love when the designer can do their pretty shit without consulting you and then the client ask you why the shit the designer made looks so different.1

So I just found out that GL_MAX as a blend func is supported pretty much universally (~92%). Pretty nice considering I kinda gave up my baricentrics based anti-aliasing technique months ago7

Me: ugh I really hate the lack of graphics performance in virtual box and not a fan of how CPU hungry VMware can get... Fuck it let's try gnome boxes
Also me: *spends 4 hours diagnosing issues with gnome boxes and Ubuntu 18.04 based distros*
But so far... Worth it. Seems pretty damn good so far1 -
So I finally gave Drupal a try as my colleague is thinking pretty highly of it. Well I installed it, checked a bit... Then uninstalled.
Not interested in building websites that look 20 years old out of the box. Plus, it is god damn slow.
I'd rather build custom admins each time. I start to hate CMS systems, even if they can be pretty convenient sometimes.1 -
So been working with the COSMOS framework and I have litteraly spent more time reworking the CLI to be so much more functional... Still haven't implemented a simple echo command but hey... Shit looks pretty that's all that matters... Right... Right?

So my day's going pretty well, successfully managed to create a pull request for broken code that breaks more code and run into errors trying to fix it, then spill tea all over my desk/self spazzing trying to fix one child problem like 3 levels deep
Pretty sure I'm the office dunce at this point1 -
Just started a simulation of the effects of social distancing, havent done behaviour modelin in a looong time so my skills are pretty rusty. Other than that im mostly drawing, i cant just code all day if i dont want to burn out.

My work environment at the moment is pretty nice so I'm to blame for my own interruptions. Or to be specific, my stomach is.
Munchies. Coffee cravings. Physiological needs that hit just when I'm starting to feel productive.
Also, devrant and stackoverflow. -
It's so common to find pretty designed websites with shit usability. What's the point? To show off the design skills or to sell the product?2

So, goes without saying, but it would be pretty cool to see someone from here in real life. Anyone in Atlanta Georgia at the moment? I am currently in here, business trip :)3

Pretty sure Entity Framework is the worst thing invented for devs... So frustrating. Hey devrant, what's your tech stack? (Please don't say entity framework. Please?)5

Dependency hell - when you have a package you want to update and then you find out 3 other things depend on that version of that dependency and then your pretty much screwed so you just leave the original version of the package you were trying to update in place.

So I'm pretty new to PHP after coming off 5 years worth of Java. So far I've used nothing but standard, out-of-the-box code. Anyone got any recommendations for frameworks or nice tools I could look at? I'd especially like something that could make forms and database interactions easier (my software is a lot of data capturing and reporting)12

Part 2 of my distro hunt
So Manjaro it is (99% sure about it). Now, I'm coming from Kubuntu, which has been pretty nice since pretty much all production environments I deal with run Ubuntu. Now, switching to Arch and also Pacman, that most likely means that I wont be able to run all development environments locally on "bare metal" like I'm used to. I guess I could run everything in Docker, but that seems like a bit of a hassle. What's your ideas/solution?15 -
Fuck.
I really want to get into source-based distros, but my laptop is pretty much a half-fried potato, so compiling takes ages.5 -
So guys... I’m pretty interested in web development and I have a bit of experience in php and I want to learn a python web framework. But I don’t know which framework to choose.
Flask or Django???
Any Suggestions???3 -
!rant: I am pretty fresh to this game so I couldn't say what my biggest hurdle has been because there hasn't really been one yet. So, in an attempt to beat the curve and perhaps learn something...
What is the most important thing you have learnt from the biggest hurdle in your dev career?2 -
Found out today we're changing front-end framework we use on our ecomm site to different one so all the work I've spent the last 2 years doing will pretty much need to be redone. FML.2

Google c'mon.
It's time to release backdrop-filters. Please. Pretty please.
You already support the feature (although a little glitchy) with experimental flags enabled. Can't you finish it? Is it that difficult with your so very limited personal and budget (sarcasm)? At least that could be an excuse for Firefox. -
*phew* 14 hours straight at the office. I was getting giddy towards the end. So much fun to bingework once in a while. ToDo lists are looking pretty empty right now :) ...maybe just chill tomorrow and go talk to people.

People posting their (not so good) workstation. Post it if you code on 3 widescreens, 9 monitors, a gaming rig or if your debug duck is a ducking (pun (maybe)) dragon.
A laptop on a 10 inch table is pretty sad.2 -
Why am I so addicted to monopoly lately... Even though I know rationally it's pretty much all luck....14

How do you deal with the constant feeling of uneasiness about not being able to come up with useful ideas? I'm not a genius, but I do pretty good work for a pretty decent size company with pretty decent size clients. I've always been good at building, just not so much at coming up with the ideas. The thing is that I just want an idea that I can be heads down on that people will actually use. I've been struggling with this problem for the last few years and it's not getting any better. Is it the same for everyone else?7

I was development a webapp, when it was well advanced I thought "it's time to decide a name" so I googled the name I was thinking and I found a website with that name. I opened it and it's pretty much the very same thing I was developing. FML

So a hackathon is offering its winner a nice amount in neo-coins . Is it worth going? I don't know much about bitcoins and cryptocurrencies except that they are pretty hot stuff in finance market. And this seems to be some new name in virtual money2

Feels pretty good when you chroot into your first LFS enviornment and nothing breaks (yet..). Also my toolchain seems to be compiling packages correctly so that's a plus :)

I’d like so advice, sometimes I need to code for pretty much 2-3 days straight
I try to power nap on occasion as I know being tired can have a bit of an effect.
I need to stay alert so I was wondering what tips and tricks people may have to help
As I need to stay away from caffeine now 😒 -
I spend the last two days to write a super tiny piece of the web thingy i want to create, a javascript that builds tables from the data the php backend provides. I am mostly clueless but i learned so much along the way..yet, it still feels like i accomplished anything at all.
163 lines of javascript, so less, so much time. At least its pretty much universal as long as i build the backend right (which is pretty easy).6 -
With COVID going on, we're pretty much stuck at home, so
Vacation = staycation = early retirement
I took off 2wks ago, going back to work next week but it actually felt pretty nice.
Not having to really care about anything or rush to any schedule.
So yes maybe give it a try. Just do whatever it if you imagine yourself doing in retirement.
The difference is your body isn't old and disabled so you can actually do it. -
!rant, suggestions/help wanted.
I'm attending my first develop conference next week, RailsConf in Pittsburgh. I'm pretty excited because the ruby community is always talked about as being so awesome. Anyone have any tips on making the most of my first conference? Anyone else going?1 -
I started to like Typescript. It was like c# on the client. Then the amount of lines and functions grew, so it was time for modules. That's pretty much when it went like this for me:

I know it's a year later, but I don't think things have gotten much better since. That was pretty much exactly my experience this year.1 -
Finally I introduce webpack to my kotlin beast... Say hello to react.. she is nice and pretty she will be best partner for you ..
I am developing my server side with kotlin and spring I needed some robust js for the fronted so I added react.. -
What is the problem with nowadays colleges? So many of the programmers I know know absolutely nothing regarding encodings and such.

I have a job interview on Thursday for a .Net stack suite of web apps. Thing is: I know C# and SQL Server pretty good (not necessarily together but that comes pretty easy to me). They also use Javascript/jQuery/ECMAScipt (they said it not me) and ASP.Net. In my web dev days I was mostly backend so I am super super rusty on Javascript and, though to a lesser extent, ASP. Do you have any tutorials and refreshers you recommend? Preferably in an IDE so I can hide my shame from the interwebs? Love you.4

I was like 11/12 y/o when I encountered this site : http://ecole-art-aix.fr/rubrique81....
It's a French design university's Processing course. I don't remember how I got there, but I guess Internet had a pretty good influence on me then. However, as I had not learned about variables in math classes yet it was a pretty tough bite for me, so I didn't finish it but it was a good start for me -
So anyone excited to watch out the lunar eclipse.
I am ready but the weather is pretty much fucked up. Any ranter who is able to see it please share your experience.
And as for time being,I will just continue to pray for sky to get clear.3 -
So there's a proposal for C++ to zero initialize pretty much everything that lands on the stack.

I started my coding journey with JAVA ! I l grasped the basic concepts like LOOPS TYPECASTING ARRAYS etc. pretty well but failed to cope up with stacks , queues . I dont have a degree yet, actually Im on my way to my next exam towards this degree. But I think it helps me alot in understanding basic things. I learned to program in my job where I am working as a web developer beside my studies. But we were teached so many basics, when I am looking at code and dirfferent languages, it just feels as if I "understand" what is happening there. And I think this is a pretty neat thing, because IMO everyone can be a developer, but not everyone can be a computer scientist. Beside this, we have pretty nice profs and cool subjects we can choose from. One is like the founder of wikidata and we heard a lecture considering newest technologies that are used in wikidata and how we can work with it, which was pretty interesting. So I think the degree teaches me a lot

Holy shit! The Windows 10 CShell runs pretty smooth on phone. Continuum feature works so fluently.

So I thought I'd try out lynx, the text based browser, and it's actually pretty neat xD kinda weird navigation but I'm actually pretty happy with the experience so far.

I just had a flashback to the good ole days of using HTML tables for website layouts. Tables within tables within tables were pretty ridiculous, but they really got the job done pretty well back then. It makes me think about how technology changes and a principle that was once so widely used is now almost completely obsolete.5

help with the ui for my app?

i'll put the download link in the comments8 -

Do you think that new open-source projects outside of Github don't get as much contributions comparing to Github projects.

If you think so start your first comment on this rant with ✔, if you don't think so start it with ❌.
Reasoning is appreciated. Storys regarding this would be pretty cool.1 -
Today is commit right to fucking master because I'm tired of how long this is taking me ...

I am either so fed up with work or I am sleep deprived that I actually went to work with my t-shirt inside out, and only noticed it when I looked at myself in the mirror.
Pretty sure I'm fed up with work.1 -
A cook or a chef, pretty honorable field of work... but the job is hard, stressful, long hours and the pay can often be terrible, so you definitely need passion.
To be honest, all my chefs friends work harder than anyone else I know.1 -

I used to code in the cab where the train operators drove the trains pretty frequently. I've also coded in an airplane hanger that was turned into a train factory, but it was less exciting then you'd think.
At the time I was working for a train company so it wasn't weird. I got pretty used to it. We weren't allowed to code in the same cab if the operator was driving the train, so I'd sometimes pop into the spare can because their seats are really comfy.5 -

Currently working in an office where my tasks are pretty boring and not fun at all. On one hand I wanna quit and get a job as a gamedev, cause that is what I truly enjoy and love doing, but on the other hand my current job is paying pretty good money, so it would kinda be a step back.
Maybe you guys got some tips or advice on what I could do?2 -
In the last couple of years I've only really had 2 kinds of meetings, weekly stand-up or me explaining something to someone. So they're usually pretty productive.

Any one thoughts/opinions about Azure Service Bus? I'm using it a few months now in combination with a redis cache, cloud storage and the service bus.. works pretty nice so far..
I'm pretty impressed about the upgrade mechanism.. -
So usually, you have a product and provide help only for the higher payment tiers. However, time and time again I've stopped using software because whenever I encountered a problem, I could never get help. It's so frustrating. Wouldn't it be a good investment to provide more help? I'm pretty sure my questions would be pretty dumb and easy to solve.3

I'm pretty sure they had the new version of the file available and there was no need to translate an old one to monkey language, so I had to manually copy everything.
Why. This just escapes me. -
Pale pretty long haired Asian women will always be like cats to me. Pretty kitties I want to nuzzle and pet and cuddle because they are so cute 😁

Hey there, I've never really done anything like this but I'm in the second year of college.
I really want to go into the security area, not completely sure but pretty inclined to pentesting.
The question is, what, in your opinion, do you think is a good starting point so I'm pretty much ready to start working when I finish my 5 year course? My college doesn't have any or many security classes, so I'll have to do it all by myself.
Right now I know java, C and html, css and Javascript, which I'm learning by myself.5 -
Im travelling with a show. And we just arrived. Since we are in a foreign land, I do not wish to use my data bundle.

So i am always looking for different sources to learn from. I just found a YouTube channel "the net ninja" and i must say. He is pretty damn good. I recommend him. He has a lot of different playlists to check out and learn from.2

Trying to figure out what the API your company has been using does with 2 pages of documentation sucks! The explanation given to me was also pretty stupid: "So... you click here and then... uhm... this link, and uhm..."

Started applying to colleges this week for Computer Science! I'm pretty new to it, but I really like it so far and it seems super interesting.8

So... I have to learn reactJS for work. (Their entire frontend is built upon it) but I am really struggling through my first week. I feel like I don't understand it at all. Unlike angular where I feel like I picked it up pretty quick. Any ideas?2

Going to be a Senior next semester and ill be taking a software testing course as an elective. From a student perspective, it sounds pretty important. Nevertheless Im excited to jump in to a simulation of real world application of what Ive learned so far in college.

"You should not bother about making your code so clean, I want features not pretty files"
As I'm leaving this job next week, someone will have to continue this project after me
I think we can say that my boss sucks -
Why cant every server-application have a feature like openssh AuthorizedKeysCommand?!
So pretty much a command-hook for authentication.
You pass username, password and additional stuff to it, and its STDOUT and exit-status determine the authentication result.
No, instead of something so simple,
You're forced to use MySQL,LDAP...4 -
I installed elementary os, and my computer froze every 5 minutes or so. I have a surface pro 3 any suggestions on a stable Linux distro? Pretty lame rant but I did try 3 distos and all were glitchy.12

Been learning more about crypto and blockchain (i know i know buzzword) but I mean I'm still a noob at pretty much everything so it was hard to find something that explains all that at a really technical level. BUT I then found www.cryptoeconomics.study
and it's been going great 😊 -

I recoded a REST endpoint that transfers large amounts of data from our db using a streaming response so it doesn't crash the server...
Pretty easy... Mostly just needed someone that knew wtf it was or has a bit of curiosity and asks questions... rather than just keep on doing what everyone else is doing...
Who hasn't seen logs updating in near real time in TeamCity, Jenkins... for the last 5yrs+... No one else ever wondered how it's done?
So yes solving a production issue with old technology and being called a genius... I guess is pretty satisfying? -
So I have played around with this thing called LudoTune which is a website that allows you to make music by drag-n-drop music blocks together. It's pretty cool.

Just figuring out where to even start was a pretty big challenge in itself, so much misinformation out there like all those "learn to program in five minutes" clickbait videos

Recursion: Good or bad? I mean, it's very few lines, efficient and pretty but can be so damn hard for others to read and debug.3

Hear me out:
Since keras and tf are pretty much schema design rn what if someone made a no-code solution where you drag and drop layers and tweak things in a UI so those data scientists can design it in a UI instead of writing shitty code?5 -
for some fucked up reason nextjs would not run on my apple silicon machine

I'm currently working on a little side project in Go and I want to create a web page with an OAuth2 based login. So far the OAuth2 login works, but I need something to track a session afterwards.
Any suggestions? I'm pretty new to web development, especially in Go :)1 -
So all you see is normal people and pretty ladies otherwise some bending and displaying themselves, the pretty ladies, and there is no visible indicator of the decay of Western society and everyone is helping you get where you need to go which is somewhere safe and happy where you have the job you want1

So I booked some hand tattoos for this week. Both my hands are gonna be pretty noticeably covered (but nothing offensive or extreme).
Engineers with hand/neck/face tattoos - what’s your experience like when it comes to securing work? (I’m a front end engineer with 5 years experience.)2 -
I am not exactly densensitized.... I still get mad and am bothered by the subject but it’s more like irritation or stabbing woeful sadness that takes away joy from seeing what you people are
So yeah I’m pretty desensitized21 -
Hey. Do you guys know any developer groups on WhatsApp , telegram or any other such platforms? If so please comment on how to join .
Thank you .
(Doing my engineering and pretty much screwed up. Help me please xD) -
So I’m primarily RoR for work and stuff, however, tried Laravel today for the first time in a while and damn I forgot how it actually makes PHP pleasant haha with Laravel awesomeness.
Built a blog application with tailwindcss in a few hours no scaffolds. Pretty neat. -
Still quite fresh programmer so pretty much everything related to programming improves my skill but mostly by programming

Anyone ? ;p so far I like little code every day not related to work and some of "tasks" are pretty interesting (Ok, I mostly brute force everything, but it can be done so much better!)5
