Today I received the best bug report I could've ever asked for..
Received an email from a member of our customer service centre containing a description of the bug they'd found and not only did it contain the steps to reproduce the bug, but a goddamn video of him reproducing the suspected bug!
The greatest feeling when the client decides to take time to make your life that little bit easier24 -
Angry customer (😤): Your software is still too slow!!!
Me (🙄): It's running good all in all. Let's divide this into smaller aspects. Which steps do you need to perform faster?
😤: Every step needs to be as fast as google!
🙄: But our software ain't google, not even to mention your infrastructure
😤: Everything needs to run in 2 seconds!!!
🙄: You aren't helping in any way. We need something to grasp...
😤: It's all your fault.

Hats off for Microsoft.
After recent updates we are now able to install Windows 10 without ever being promoted to log into a Microsoft account. I was even able to uninstall OneDrive like any other application.
Small steps into the good direction.9 -

People on github opening issues saying shit like "aye, your extension crashes. Please fix or I'll uninstall. Thanks.". How am I supposed to fix an error I know nothing about? Error message? Extension list? Stack trace? Steps to reproduce? Nope. Nothing.

Fucking pieces of shit, if I would have a list of developers that add "Whoopsie daisy, tinky winky compiling stuffie" as error messages, installer steps or as a checkbox in their github issues, I'd break their fucking back and keep them alive, just to ram fucking burning nails into their eyelids and then blast just enough power through them to make them burn and evaporate alive.4

The learning curve for programming is more like steps than a curve.
Really tall steps.
And they go on forever.
Eventually you die. Leaving your body as a landmark for those who come after you. Unless you're completely useless. Then your body just ends up at the bottom of a gully.
The point is don't give up. Don't die in a gully. Each dead end is a wall to clime. Every plateau is just the path to the next step.5 -

So my schoolmate asked me to reformat his computer, not before backing up his father's work data. Medical data of his patients.
He had two hard drives, C: and D: . Easy job, it could be done in four steps:
1- collect all data into c:\backup
2- xcopy /e c:\backup d:
3- format c:
4- move all data from d:\backup back to their original places.
Guess which step did I forget to do?
Yes, step 2.8 -
So this mornings i was helping my 2.5year old daughter to count the lines on her potty training table.
me: look there are 1,2,3,4 and 5
she steps back and looks at it for a minute and says : FOUR

So a few years ago when I was getting started with programming, I had this idea to create "Steam but for mods". And just think about it - 13 and a half years old me which knew C# not even for a half of a year wanted to create a fairly sizable project. I wasn't even sure how while () or foreach () loops worked back in the day.
So I've made a post on a polish F1 Challenge '99-'02 game forum about this thing. The guy reached out to me and said: "Hey, I could help you out". This is where all started.
I've got in touch with him via Gadu-Gadu (a polish equivalent of ICQ). So I've sent him the source code... Packed in .ZIP file... By Zippyshare… And just think how BAD this code was. Like for instance, to save games data which you were adding they were stored in text files. The game name was stored in one .txt file. The directory in another. The .exe file name in yet another and so on. Back then I thought that was perfectly fine! I couldn't even make the game to start via this program, because I didn't know about Working Directory).
The guy didn't reply to me anymore.
Of course back then it wasn't embarrassing to me at all, but now when I think about it... -
Was joking with my sister about who has more steps. She had done more steps so far, so I said that I would walk 20 times around the McDonald's, where we were going to eat. She replied that she would walk 50 times around it, so I said that I would walk 2 times more around it than she would. She then said, that she would go once more around it. In the end, I explained recursion and infinite loops to her. Her comment was "großer Blödsinn" (German) -> "big bullshit".3

You know what really grinds my gears?
When a manager writes up some bullshit "this doesn't work".

Programs are like humans. First you need to do baby steps and make it work like you want it, and teach it how to work. Then after the release the youth brings a lot of bugs and swearing. Finally it's grown up and can handle itself. Then it gets old and no one are so attracted to it anymore. It rests in peace on a old storage drive, and gets replaced by a new generation. 👶🏼👦🏽👨🏽👴🏽1

My new fitbit reminds me take 250 steps each hour. When I do stop and take a walk, I find it helps my productivity, and I feel better. However, I'm not good at keeping to it.
It's always the same story.

LOL Have I Been Pwned has pwned itself, cost-wise. Here the steps:
1) Go all in on cloud shit like Azure
2) Think you're a smartass
3) Trick the cost side with even more cloud, this time Cloudflare
4) Be not quite as smart as you think
5) Enjoy your 7000 EUR bill
6) Make some tweaks and continue with step 2.

Woke up to an email from someone, saying that a blog post (tutorial) I had made really helped them. It's always nice to hear that I've made something that helps people. But idk, there's something special about getting that feedback via email, maybe because it takes more steps to send an email..?3

Another gem during my studies: Senior professor in early class. Suddenly a phone is ringing. After a while he pulls out a huge inflatable phone and yells:"I can't talk right now I am in class. Bye.". Then he steps towards the board writes down "stupid joke" ticks it and says in a dead serious voice:"That's done".

Working on another online pokemon game sort of thing and I'm super proud of myself because I just got the user registration, login, auth session, and logout done. Last time I tried making one of these damn things I didn't bother using a database and I tried making a complex user auth system using JSON files and God, I regret that now.
Now only a million steps to go (Including making the game)8 -

Heres a Tip someone showed me a while back, thought I shared it here if somebody didn't knew. It works with Browser bookmarks and keywords that you assign.
Use-case:
typing "java: String" into the search bar will show searchresults in Google that only returns Pages from the Java API about Strings.
Steps:
1.Search for "https://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/...: %s" in Google.
2.Bookmark it
3.Edit the Bookmark and assign the Keyword "java: "
4.??? (Search "java: Sring". duh)
5.Profit!!1!1
Use-case:
Or typing "stack: help" will search for help in stack overflow.
Steps:
Search %s in SO, bookmark and assign a keyword.
As far as I know this works in FF and Chrome. Cheers2 -
Started programming on one of these bad boys. It's an ABC80 a Swedish built computer.

To any and all family members, before requesting my help with the printer/computer/electronic device follow these steps to make sure I don't get irritated.
1. Make sure it's plugged in.
2. Turn it off then back on
3. Turn it off, unplug it for around 30s, turn it back on.
4. Request help
Why is this so hard to grasp? I don't want to stop my workflow with an issue that could be resolved in less than a minute!1 -
Fucking lazy customer support that files bugs with "<some functionality> is not working" with no steps to reproduce or any other description of the issue, deserve to die in the same hell as it is figuring out the rest of the details.

Heading to japan on the 12th, my first solo trip ever. I always wanted to visit it, but now because of my developer paycheck and me being annoyed because no one ever has the money and/or time I am heading there alone.

How do you get tons of stars on Github in two steps?
1. Make a website for noob devs who cant tell the difference between a div and span.
2. Guide them to sign up on Github and ask them to give your repo a star as part of the process (dont forget visual guides)
Voila!
Now you get shitload of stars from people who dont even know what the fuck github does.5 -

I've got a teacher (math) in the university that let us use our phones as a calculator in the exam but without sim card and of course no wifi. I've spent a few hours programming a very ugly CLI app which let me calc and show me the steps of every type of exercise.

The exam wasn't difficult but basically they tell you to solve a few problems applying different methods, that hasn't advantage from others.8 -

Things that piss me off in github issue comments:
- "halp it doesn't work!!!" no description, no steps to reproduce, nothing.
- people writing comments in a random ass language that nobody understands so everybody except them has to go through the effort of translating it.
- issue comments that escalate into a meme fest because the issue was linked on reddit or some other platform -

She doesn't understand that most smartphones are capable of calls and navigating menus simultaneously.
So whenever my mother calls in need of help with her smartphone, can be anything from installing a new app to posting on FB.
I have to explain 2-3 steps, then she will hang up, and call again in 5 minutes, where I will then explain the next few steps, and so on.
How she even manages to navigate that much and calling in between, and then struggling with simple task is unimaginable to me..1 -
Warning: this is not a rant. I'm too happy and excited to rant right now.
Today I "finished" my first webpage!!!
Wohooo!
It's the blog I'll use. It's currently offline for obvious reasons but I intend to put it out there when I have more confidence on my skills and some content to put in it. I only used django, html and css, and I really dig the looks of it. My gf liked it so it can't be that ugly.
I still have a lot to learn with django, and I will add a thing or two to this
webpage but now I feel confident enough to make the backbone of my first real project : a platform to ease essay writing for history students. It's something simple for students to keep track of their essays thesis and ideas but also the bibliography they'll use and the thesis and ideas they think each text they read for the essay has. I intend later to extend the functionality so it can store all the texts the user has used in some useful and atractive manner so they can keep track of everything they've read, share it and use it for later works.
I'm so fucking excited I can't fucking sleep (it's 3 am right now).13 -
5 steps to make your coworkers go nuts.
Step 1: Get on their computer while they're not around.
Step 2: Choose a bit of their code and make it so it's in one long line.
Step 3: Comment out the line.
Step 4: Change the text color to the color of the editor's background.
Step 5: Watch them going nuts.9 -
Had a legit argument with a manager about the text in a drop down menu. I argued that it should actually state what the option was for because I care about the user experience... Management wanted to conceal several business logic steps behind an unrelated option in the same menu because of a literal interpretation of the process and the client's request.
Interfaces should tell the user what is going on...2 -
Remember my first day at my job post from almost 2 weeks ago?
I have to say that I've built great connections in the company even though I'm introverted and am like bro-ey and joke-ey with everyone there.
All the package unboxing, sorting, cutting and moving made me more fit. I'm nonstop moving the whole day from point A to point B to point C etc. I even got a smart watch to accurately track my amount of steps (+25-33% more steps than Samsung Health in my experience). I'm at 11,000 steps everyday on average and I want to push this further.
Remember that Daniel? We've become great coworkers after the initial heat (we kept giving each other orders) and are having a breakfast with the department we are temporarily in.
We also get to leave the company 1 hour earlier because we are done with all of today's work. The department chief and the company chief are impressed.6 -

me: "tell me what steps to reproduce the error and I'll fix it"

Holy crap, just started working again on a personal project after a 1-month hiatus... Really struggling to get my head back where it was, I have (almost) no clue what I was doing or why.
Even the commit log and the comments and docs I've left around seem empty somehow.
Any good tips/tools for retracing steps? How do you start working on a codebase you've never touched before?1 -
Today, I got some crap on my desk with possible bug reports from the field. They have been lingering somewhere for fucking MONTHS, and suddenly, an immediate answer was due. I was the unlucky one who was the least clueless about the product involved. SHIT.
OK, sifted through the reports. Some of them were duplicate, others obviously not our problem. No idea where to even start for the rest. FUCK, it's Friday!
But here comes "senior dev secret knowledge"(tm). Instead of saying WTF-IDK, I proposed an "action plan"(tm) (that BS term alone...) detailing the steps that we would need to take, and since I had no idea how long we would need, I just added enough steps in the "action plan"(tm) to make two weeks of investigation believable.
PM was very happy and just took that as direct customer reply. Now it's weekend anyway. :-) -
Can gaming get better on Linux please? I know there are steps towards this but when I can move everything over to arch/Ubuntu etc would be awesome, including VR stuff.13

today is the day i will write a bunch of passive agressive redmine tasks with fucking steps to reproduce the fucking bugs and fucking info on the fucking environment of the fucking bug! i mean you have the time and skills to attach bunch nonsence screenshots with color coded arrows and circles, carefully cropping out info i could actually use, like the fucking url and browser, but you cannot consolidate your thoughts well enough to write down the steps that led to a bug??? fuck these people3

Plan my workday a day ahead. And plan it into as small steps as possible.
So that the next day I do not have to think about what to do. And that all steps are so small that I wont have much mental rejection for them. -
It has now become trend for all new startups in my country to follow these three steps.
Step 1 - Attract developers by showing them high CTC.
Step 2 - Make them work mercilessly on intern basis giving them low pay.
Step 3 - Fire them after intern period without giving some valid reasons.
I am fed up now as I have wasted my six months without getting much pay and now I am jobless 😨5 -
Work has been inefficiently using multiple cron jobs to run php scripts to generate pre-baked data.
The last two days I took the steps needed to internalize all those scripts and run them from an individual php controller which is ran from Jenkins. My script keeps track of scheduling and error tracking.
I'd say I'm pretty proud of what I came up with.1 -
If the christian god exists, then I'll go to hell because of my sexual orientation. Little do they know, as I wake up there, I'll make two steps back to pick up a chainsaw. It's there and I know it.
Dear god, watch out. Your days are numbered. I'll make Nietzsche "god is dead" stuff look like a fucking joke.

Really sad in 2016 when I have to teach an assistant manager and her underling in a different department about PEMDAS.
We deal with excel on a daily basis and the math always follows that. Had to explain in very simple steps how it works. Then was asked what an exponent was. *weapons grade face palm*5 -

Debugging ♡
Taking first steps in Express.js. It's in general the first web framework i've learned so the struggle was greater.
While I was creating a web app, i've noticed that suddenly all of the routes were redirecting to the 404 error page. I was looking for the cause of this issue for an hour just to find this:
route.get ('/ ', ...);
So it seems that just one space sign wasted 1 hour of my day.
Btw, it's my first rant there so 👋 to everyone :)4 -
I wouldn't call any rejection worst.
I learnt new things everytime I had interview actually they came to me like steps of learning and when I get to know enough I got my first job :) -
Question to my fellow ranters, I want to create an opensource SDK for a service. What will be the advantages and disadvantages? How to keep myself motivated throughout the process? What are the steps to take?1

The feeling of dread as still a semi-junior sysadmin when an app doesn't work after an update.
I got stressed, triple-checked everything that I changed and that I followed all steps of the documentation of the upgrade process, then, as a last step before going over in half-panic mode to my boss, I try to restart the stupid java app and it starts working.
Wtf. Why. Why didn't it work the first time I started it? D: -
How to become the favourite client among your app devs in two simple steps
1 - raise a support ticket, stating that it really needs to be solved, the sooner the better, but omit any ids/names in the description.
2 - leave for a vacation, without any way to contact you.1 -
If I send you an update and you start writing a response with: "Actually, I just tried this in IE..."—follow these steps:
1) Stop typing.
2) Step away from your desk
3) Jump off of a bridge2 -
When my boss thinks doing anything is better then doing nothing...
I have to explain to my boss for the Nth time already that doing random tests and things will not replicate a PRODUCTION network issue that seem caused by particular factors at a particular time and location.
And that the best way to trace is for whatever is raising the issue to log the exact time and error so the problem can be traced through all the steps...

Aaargh, GitHub pain:

Me: So we're deploying this today on prod.
Junior: Can you record the deployment steps for us so that we can deploy whenever you're unavailable?
Me: Seriously?
I liked their enthusiasm though.
Maybe it's just too early as these chaps don't even know the basic commands right now.
What y'all have on this?12 -
* break it into elementary steps, small enough to fit into your "estimation time unit", e.g. days or hours.
* estimate those steps for "developing at a leisurely pace" if nothing goes wrong.
* think about "what could go wrong" (list everything!) and adjust values accordingly.
* adjust total amount with experience values, like:
* times 1.2 for every manager
* times 1 to 4 based on which legacy projects i have to touch
and finally:
* multiply with `1+log(t/u,2)`, with `u` being the amount of useful data in the requirement description and `t` being the total amount of data in the requirement description
* sample: with our current "favourite" customer, about 90% of all tickets is garbage, so t/u = 100/10 = 10 => log(10,2) = 3.3 => multiply everything with 4.34 -

Anybody else got this weird little glitch?
Steps to reproduce:
1. Scroll down until the header darkens
2. Hover over any of the header options
3. Scroll up until the header becomes transparent but not fully
Notes:
- Can't use a screenshotting tool, the refresh fixes the glitch
- Can't select the element in devtools, glitch disappears8 -
Four steps of professional development:
1. Simple and bad
2. Complicated and bad
3. Complicated and good
4. Simple and good
At CSS and frontend in general, I'm easy four, straight up. At architecture, I'm perhaps two in devops/docker/kubernetes/other crap and three at DB design. At electrical engineering and embedded stuff, I'm 1, no questions asked.
What are your rankings?1 -
Until now, I've never contributed anything to an open source project (or even created my own). My GitHub Profile is completely empty. I don't know why, maybe I'm just to "scared" of bad feedback.
But I really want to change that. Any good advice on how to do so? What were your first steps in this world?4 -
Why is so Fitbit so bad at multiple time zones??
Guess what, people get on planes and travel.
Every time, my Fitbit gets so screwed up, including things like changing previous step counts, or duplicating an entire day of steps.
I understand MTZ is a tough problem, but this is just unacceptable. I'm not obsessed with my steps, but when your product is all about counting something, seems like you should be more careful to avoid double counting or not counting at all. Seriously, how much R&D have they invested in their hardware and apps, but it completely fails when you travel. Get it together!1 -

Did you know, any time you copy text on Windows 10, windows saves the url of the page you copied it from?
Don't know where it is saved, or how long it is cached, but the more you know.
Steps to replicate:
Go into your browser, copy any text from any site. Close the window.
Open one note. Paste text. Theres the url.
I think clipboard saves the url when you copy text from a browser, dunno. but its interesting.9 -

My favourite bug reports are the ones for where something is missing. No details on pages, or steps to recreate, but they do include a screenshot.

If I wanted to become a hacker here is what I would do to cover my steps: 1.) Buying a used Laptop with cash, and picking it up in person.
2.) Using random coffee shops to work by dice roll. Obviously at least a d20 and at least 20 coffee shops.
3.) Installing Linux, probably Manjaro. (Not Kali because I've heard that is watched)
What are your thoughts?28 -

I literally spent a week fighting scope creep instinctively introduced by myself on a submodule with the nominal role *Read all files the compiler needs to read using the fewest possible additional steps*
I have to keep reminding myself that there's no such thing as a scope too narrow. If its purpose can be described without spelling out the implementation, it can be encapsulated. -
At first, I didn't understand computers or internet or why is that dial up modem making noise. And then one day, I was playing with my dad's PC with games he bought and interactive CD quizzes for my studies. Then a few months after that I discovered internet and then a friend of mine introduced torrents, neopets and anime. Heck yeah!2 -
I feel there aren't enough tutorials on "best practices" when it comes to combining server/client tooling in a monorepo.
Having done so this weekend, the tasks involved were:

* differentiating build steps in prod vs. dev
* applying middleware in prod vs. dev
* working with a single heroku dyno
Still missing:
* hot reloading

"It takes A and B and C and X and ... to make this work on Windows"
What? Nooo really? Making Linux tools work on Windows takes more effort than on Linux? And it must totally be Windows' fault, right?
Pull your head out of the ass already. Running Windows tools on Linux takes just as much effort and just as many extra steps, and the same goes whenever you try to run any software on a system it wasn't made for.18 -

Learning how to break a result into the steps necessary to produce it, along with the broader concept of abstraction in computer science has allowed me to apply this thinking to my personal experience. I've traced personality traits and behaviors to specific events from my childhood, and can finally relax knowing that understanding computers has given me all the linguistic tools I need to talk to myself, which traditionally has been impossible. I no longer feel trapped in a terrifyingly imaginative mind.

The moment when I wrote a puzzle solver in C.
Not the most exciting thing to write but it felt great at the time.
Before writing every line of code without thinking some steps forward I decided to write it as pseudo code in notepad.
The very moment it was converted to C it just worked, writing it was beyond pleasure, just pure bliss. -

I think one of the great things about this app is how we handle bug reporting. Any time someone posts about a bug, people independently do extensive tests to determine the extent of the bug (or at least what devices are affected), and people nearly always give detailed replication steps. I think this is a great feature of this community1

I have mixed feelings about Elon’s Neuralink. Just read a bit of the abstract.
“Neuralink’s first steps toward a scalable high-bandwidth BMI system. We have built arrays of small and flexible electrode “threads”, with as many as 3,072 electrodes per array distributed across 96 threads.”

!rant (I got down voted for this on Stack Overflow, so I try to discuss the issue with a more professional crowd.)
In a Software Engineering class, we had an assignment to read Parnas' seminal paper on modularization [0]. In this paper, two approaches of dividing a software into modules are discussed:
Traditional Approach: A flow chart is drawn to work out the single processing steps and the program's high-level flow. Then every processing step is turned into a module. This approach doesn't yield very good results.
New Approach: Every design decision will be turned into a module by the means of information hiding. This approach leads to much better results.
My personal interpretation of the term design decision is that the modules are identified as data structures rather than as processing steps of an algorithm. This makes sense, because data structures are much more suitable for information hiding then processing steps of an algorithm. (The information inside a data structure is hidden behind functions, whereas a function only hides more detailed processing steps and no information; the information is actually passed in as arguments.)
Why does the second approach work so much better than the first approach? Here comes my second interpretation: The single processing steps of an algorithm are not replaceable (and thus not reusable), whereas it's possible to convert data structures into other data structures.
And here's my question: Could that be the reason why software development using workflow engines (based on BPMN, for example) never really took off?
My personal experience is that the activities created in such workflows are hardly ever reused, but there often are big data structures passed around all the involved activities, even if most of the activities use only one or two of them.
My question exaggerated: Could we get rid of all those clumsy workflow engines by giving managers Parnas' paper to read?

"Please provide steps to reproduce" seems to be the catch-22 when people try and kick up a fuss about a bug I'm certain doesn't exist.
It's funny because then they report the bug, they word it like I've ruined their life, that can simply cannot continue to function until this error is fixed, yet those simple magic words "Provide steps to reproduce" seems to put their prioritise back into perspective or at the least scares them back into the void from which they came. -
Question about PR best practices.
I work for an analytics company and often have to implement new ETL steps. The data transformations in these steps can be complex and the major changes are usually 500+ lines up to around 2000 (the last one had 765 lines just for schemas).
What's the best way to split up the changes into multiple PRs, bearing in mind that it isnt guaranteed that a file won't change as the change is built up? -

Next steps are removing windows, burn that m2 ssd in some gasoline, throw the ashes in a deep hole next to my old bootcamp 40GB HDD (Mac OS X) and finally setting up a new fresh and clean system which won't get in touch with any Windows forever.

Let's make dependencies a breeze, not a brain-twisting puzzle. Seriously, my debugger cries every time it steps into that abyss.3 -

Me: We're going to use git for its versioning to document the changes to these documents because doing this non-electronically would be resource intensive and use a lot of paper.
(One year later.)
Boss: Can you show me the steps on how to do this?
MFW boss doesn't know how to git: 😧1 -
Jeej first project. Read: 101 FE bugs to fix. In code i've never seen before. With bare minimum support. Though day. First steps with Gulp are set. yay1

Google play console is so fucking confusing, I'm trying to get my app to open beta testing stage, I've completed all the steps and done the full roll out, but the status of the app is still pending publication (3 days), wtf does "Pending publication" means do I need to publish the app for production in order for beta testing release to work, or I have to wait for google to approve the beta release for publish?
I'm lost5 -
I've been doing web development with python for about a year and I want to start learning about AI and ML, where should I start? what are good first steps?5

i wrote a whole-ass python script to allow me to resume an interrupted makescript from whatever step it was stopped on (because 25 long-ass lines smashed together with semicolons is hard to remember and to type fast) but the make process disowns all the processes so it just immediately started all the make steps all at once... back to just manually resuming for me.1

After how much dev experience you wrote your firs API ?
what are essential steps to write a small good api?11 -
I just hate when people say that coding is hard, it's the same as cooking, as long as you follow the steps it can't go wrong.
Also some people suck at cooking too, so some poeple just suck.6 -
When the documentation mentiones 2 "easy" steps, but you already know it's gonna be at least 12 ...4

So, I wanted a little suggestion here.
I'm currently interning at a startup and currently we document our build procedures by creating .docx files containing the steps. But docx is a pain in the ass. I'd rather prefer markdown for documentation.
Are there any better tools for documenting? What do you guys use?
We're using Jira for project management bdw.1 -
Building gunpla.
Helped me postponing my burnout by doing 1 page a day everyday at lunch break (or 2 steps, depending on the model)
Also helped a lot with realising its fine to break and customise stuff, that most hardware is just marketing & that the right tool, while being cheap, can save you a huge headache and lead to a better result. -
We all complain about bad managers but does anyone here has a really good manager and steps up to take the responsibility of the projects when he/she is on leave?5

Have you ever used Hibernate Tools for reverse engineering a database? Seems to work only on eclipse. Do you know of a process to configure eclipse to do what it's supposed to in a finite and predictable number of steps? Or the only way is an unpredictable trial and error process in which everythime a component is updated the stack stops working?

HELP!!! I fucked up my OP6 again trying to install Lineage 17.1.
I was running Oxygen Pie and folloqed steps .. Flashed Lineage Recovery 20200609
And then the rom but just boots into Fastboot now.
I'm guessing it's bc I didn't first install Oxygen 10 and upgrade the firmware?
Not though I'm trying to sideload the zip but it keeps stopping at Signature Verification failed.... Even though I said override...21 -
I love how the devRant webapp is intercepting scroll events (I assume) such that attempting to scroll down results in one step down, two steps up.
Why? Is this an attempt to solve jellypotato for infiniscrolling?
Looking further I see the scrollbar itself is actually getting smaller, like some element on the page is extending beyond the end or something. 🤔
I don't know, man...4 -
As much as the build quality and features of Google products are appreciated, how many of you are concerned about the data they collect about users ? Do you guys take steps to avoid such data collection ? Who wins eventually .. convenience or privacy ?1

I talked to one of my coworkers about my next steps for completing my next project and he responds so lithargically. I don't know if he thinks I'm just an unexperienced idiot of if that's just how he is. Maybe it's just my imposter syndrome kicking in.

3 steps to build trust through content marketing
Besides of building brand awareness and generating website traffic, content marketing has the potential to take your business to new heights. There are seven steps in which you can build trust through content marketing:
• Honesty: whether you are writing a blog or writing a Wikipedia page, you must consider honesty in your content. You can hire marketers or https://wikicreatorsinc.com/ to do the job.
• Authenticity: your content must be able to position your business as an expert in the industry.
• Establish authority: re-evaluate your marketing strategy and highlight your brand’s thought leadership to build trust.
Do you think content marketing can build trust?1 -

So why did it fail?
Googled all afternoon but can't find anything... And I don't usually use Batch.... Just debugging another issue... -

My colleague is trying out docker for the first time. He is installing stuff so that he can add the same steps to gitlab yaml. I will like to see his reaction when he will start the container next time.
Waiting now and hoping that he will save the container. -
I learned to program in community college where they had us learn C# but I honestly didn't catch the programming bug until we had to do assembly language. I just found it fun to break what I needed to do into 's,mall steps and at the end I get to see the result of all that Work!

Running npx google-artifactregistry-auth in three simple steps:
1. Run npx google-artifactregistry-auth
2. Interrupt the process because it will inevitably get stuck on retrieving credentials
3. Run npx google-artifactregistry-auth
Then to install packages you need just 3 simple steps!
1. Run npm i
2. Interrupt when it gets stuck on reify
3. Run npm i3 -
I am currently trying to set up a unit-test using Python Django framework.
I follow the official documentation step by step. I completed the steps.
It spits out an error: the table does not exist in the database.
Seriously, do you need any more proof that Python is bad? The developers of Python framework cannot even put together a working tutorial. If the unit-test framework requires the database then it should auto-create the tables3 -
Ok this is my first try in machine learning, this is DQN for Pong!
I want to add my own flavor by adding pressure touch to paddle movements, such that the harder I press in a direction it moves faster to a max speed.
Does it makes sense if I apply the floating point outputs of sigmoid directly to speed control? Or should I make multiple outputs to represent different "steps" of pressure/speed? -
Im considering a career in security or network security but want to get some steps aheah, where should i look? What should i read?6

I need some advices on how to do a react multiple steps form. A form allows student to submit their previous study and exchange credit in my univwrwity. Username and password at start. Then text fields, date selection, drop list with lots of data from backend, upload files. Click next to next steps or previous steps. It seems complicated. Thinking to use react and redux. Any advice...
