I got too excited and released prematurely: 1.1.0

I managed to take down an entire school network with one VPN.
In short, I ran a personal VPN and eventually the System Administrators at my old school managed to pick it up as unknown traffic. For some reason, they managed to block the port but not the IP so I changed the port to 443 and their automatic system blocked port 443 on their entire network essentially rendering HTTPS useless for a few hours.
I never got approached about it but my school invested in a new IT team.3 -

I managed to accidentally clear everybody's usernames and email addresses from an SQL table once. I only recovered it because a few seconds before, I'd opened a tab with all the user data displayed as an HTML table. I quickly copied it into Excel, then a text editor (saving multiple times!), then managed to write a set of queries to paste it all back in place. If I'd refreshed the tab it would have all gone!2

Not really a rant and I'm only a beginner/hobbyist, but for a few months I've been active in a local gamedev club where I recently managed the courage to approach a much more experienced (5+ years) programmer.
We managed to have a good 30 minute chat (despite not using the same programming languages) and he told me "I really appreciate talking to someone who actually understands programming and what they're talking about!"
It felt like a pretty big milestone on my path to game development, at least it feels like I know more than I care to admit to myself.1 -

Why is everyone addicted to monthly salary these days? No one seems interested in how money is actually made and managed (e.g. by the company they work for).
It's as if people just don't want to be rich.10 -
When I started doing frontend development, I was quite shocked with how people managed to cowboy code their way into building fully functional products with a decent paying client base.
I am talking about fully function SaaS with payment gateway and all, but no version control beyond full backup copies, and spaghetti code everywhere you can literally bring the website down trying to change the homepage design.

To be honest the exact bug I don't remember. I do recall that it had something stupid I had been trying to fix to get nodejs working on a raspberry pi. After hours of trying to fix what might now seem insignificant, I was not only relieved that I got it working, but also thrilled that I kept at it and managed to fix it.

I just took the "lead" over a small internal Projekt. I can not believe what they have done.
They somehow managed to use dependencies that are not managed by maven.
They 'used' the entire apache-commons library just to create empty InputStreams once!
And they merged unfinished tickets to the development branch which dont even work!
Did I mention that they all left the project in the middle of the sprint without saying a word and even without finishing their tickets...?
How... Why....4 -

Today I tried deploying on digital ocean with their app platform and managed database just do discover that their fucking app platform can’t be added as a trusted source to their fucking managed database, and the only way to connect them is to open your database to the internet, which is a digital equivalent of suicide.
Of all the fucking product combinations on digital ocean I choose the one that doesn’t work, and I did it in just one try.
This remains unfixed for over a year now.2 -

I am usually a fan of Digital Ocean but DO doesn't seem like a good option for mongodb (especially for mongo-noobs)4 -
Client would say we do not want to be billed on per manpower basis, but on entire managed service basis
However, the pricing for managed services they would agree on, can only pay for a team of 4, and the project requires a team of 8 -

Spent the day figuring out how to maintain injected dependencies in scope when they're requested asynchronously later in the pipeline and then be able to clean it up later without having any lifecycle hooks to use.
Seriously considered switching DI frameworks before I just added an event when it's OK to dispose of the scope and I think it's finally working (without the memory leaks it had before).
Who else has to try something every possible way before you can be satisfied? -

If you were to host a PHP website in a managed hosting, able to handle 200 concurrent users and upgrade to a better plan with no or small downtime if needed, which would be your choice?
