Is it so hard to comment your code?
I work on collab projects here and there and both the comments and documentation are both awful, nearly always, there are some exceptions.
This is a plea to all those who teach anyone to program. "This performs a loop" is not a helpful comment, nor is "This sets variable x to 1" where the line below is "let x = 1".
The last piece of code brings me on to my next point meaningful variable names. If x is a variable that stores the age of a machine call it ageOfMachine or age_of_machine. Not aom, not x but what it actually is, modern IDEs and text editors will fill this out for you.
Finally documentation, a good friend of mine sent me this quote a while back, I can't find the image but "Documentation is like sex, when it's good, it's great. But when it's bad it's better than nothing." Your documentation should be good, a good pattern to follow is the Node.js documentation, it tells the function, what it does and what parameters it takes.
Anyway rant over; and I'm sure that this applies to people outside of this community only.5 -

Here I am just tryna browse a site and this stupid attempt to trick me into falling for a scam pops up. There is no way to stop the pop up because I can’t tap anything fast enough. Not even restarting the browser because it remembers this as the last URL it had accessed. Looks like I have to uninstall and reinstall chrome. So my dad calls me because my uncle is freaking out about how a client messaged him and he doesn't know how to check if he can do what them asked him to. In it, there's info of what is sold out in what day. For example, today was the first time I needed to use generics in my app, this is something I've always wanted to learn but didn't truly understand it. I've read docs and watched videos online, but still didn't see the benefit of learning generics.
However, once I needed it, I realized why it is relevant, and thus created stronger memory muscles.

So, the other day, I was working in Unity, and trying to find the complement of a byte number. That is, 255 - myByte. So, I write this :
Byte newByte = 255 - myByte;
And it says that it can't convert from a byte to an int. Okay... So, I do this:

And still, it errors the same thing. So, a quick google search proves that no matter what, the subtraction operator returns an int. WHAT IS WRONG WITH C#? That is the dumbest thing ever!4 -

So I ended up going with antergos and xfce DE on a cheapo 4gb ram i5 laptop.
It works, sometimes it hangs because of ram, but the thing that is infurating me the most is javaFX with animation loop (school course) whenever I run it, it works for a minute then oh good fucking Lord what happened to you!!!
It hangs, mouse doesn't work, and it takes like 10 minutes for it to respond back and somehow forcefully close the application, running that with task manager asude, I don't see anything critical, unless I'm reading this wrong
CPU averages around 10% and sometimes spikes to 70% few times
Ram is around 50%, swap is 50% too
What could the issue be in this case? I'm sure running the whole thing on windows this wouldn't have happened, what am I missing here?3 -

The webpack production mode can't even recognize destructuring. It can only naively replace literal occurrence of process.env.NODE_ENV.

When using python, almost every other linter/formatter shoves down pep8 down my throat.
I used autopep8, which has NO CONFIG FOR USING TABS. FFS. The only solution I could find is disabling indent reformatting. How is this a solution at all?
Then I found black. Black is a piece of shit. Let's move on.
Now, I use yapf+pylint. This is basically clang-fomat for python. I love it, it does exactly what I expect it to do.2 -

So I recently released a new android application on the play store and for some flipping reason it cannot be opened on any device it installs on. The application was approved by google and published and everything. You can find it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...
Issue is, when you install this, the play store only shows the option to uninstall it and not open it. Weirder yet, it can’t be found in any application drawer either. I don’t get if this is a valid feature or what but idk what to change in my code to fix this. Sadly so, there’s no online article on this exact issue. I don’t get how to fix it, so any help is appreciated12 -

is there any way that the nemo file explorer on linux mint cinnamon is able to highlight the specific file when for example i downloaded a file with a browser and then want to view the file in the file explorer, so the browser redirects to nemo? how is it that I don't find this feature for nemo? doesn't it exist or am i too dumb googling this problem correctly? this feature is very helpful on windows, so what about it on other file managers?10
